Bookstore

Hi i have download bookstore (latest one)for jboss+myeclipse.+oracle
when i imported the bookstore in myeclipse error came becuase of build.xml and sun-web.xml.so i deleted both these.now i created jboss-web.xml whose content is 1)
<jboss-web>
<resource-ref>
<res-ref-name>jdbc/BookDB</res-ref-name>
<res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
<jndi-name>java:/BookDB</jndi-name>
</resource-ref>
and then i changed database.properties like this 2)
default.database=pointbase
javac.debug=off
#db.name=sun-appserv-samples
#db.host=localhost
#db.port=9092
#db.SID=${db.name},new

# used to override element <database-vendor-name>pointbase</database-vendor-name>
# within <cmp-resource> elements for sun-ejb-jar.xml files; used at deployment time.
# otherwise, you would have to modify every sun-ejb-jar.xml <cmp-resource> element to
# have it's <database-vendor-name> sub-element point at appropriate database vendor string

Hi Geoff,
If you are having issues with your iBooks application not showing the bookstore buttons, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    How do I remove my book titles from iTunes bookstore?

    With regard the  reply or  part of, which  you edited out.....   as you  already have the book(s) on sale elsewhere, it is not costing you anything to have them  on the iBooks store, so  why remove from sale??
    I also note the price comparisons and suggest that this may be a factor in low (any) sales so maybe its an area you could consider.  Also,  if you have a website/ facebook etc,. are you promoting sales  via you friends and  followers.
    In   iTunes Connect  > Deliver your Content are a number of PDfs  to download, one of which covers Marketting, it may be worth looking at it.
    Other than that,, good look with your  books where ever they are on sale.

  • Problems with database access in Servlet Apllication (Duke's Bookstore)

    Hi! My name is Elena Veretilo! I am so newbie in JavaEE. So I really need you help and advice!!!
    I started to learn JavaEE with "The JavaEE5 tutorial for Sun Java Application Server 9.1" (http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/doc/) and this tutorial recommended the next examples: http://java.sun.com/javaee/5/docs/tutorial/information/download.html. I try to work in NetBeans 6.0 and NetBeans 6.5.
    First problem - I couldn't add Sun Java Application Server 9.1 to NetBeans' server list - it just doesn't see the installed Sun Java Application Server 9.1.
    Second problem - I couldn't run Duke's Bookstore example (from tutorial examples) - something wrong with working (maybe creating or accessing) database. The Database Server started, GlassFish Server also started, so I don't know where the problem could be.
    There is exception:
    Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink Essentials - 2006.8 (Build 060830)): oracle.toplink.essentials.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Internal Exception: org.apache.derby.client.am.SqlException: Table/View 'WEB_BOOKSTORE_BOOKS' does not exist.Error Code: -1

    bind => [203]
    Query:ReadObjectQuery(com.sun.bookstore.database.Book)
    If anybody had learned this tutorial and examples or just know what I need to do, please help me!!!!! If it's possible, tell me step by step, what I need to do!
    And one more question - do I really need Sun Java Application Server 9.1 to work with or GlassFish includes Sun Java Application Server 9.1?????

    I've downloaded many books from the iTunes bookstore, but several have 1 or more missing pages.  Is there a way to retrieve them?

    Delete the problem books from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Books and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your books there.
    While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
    If the problem persists contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support. In rare cases you may need to refer to the publisher.

  • The bookstore and Tomcat 4 are not good together

    Hi all,
    I thought I will never have any problems with Java Tutorials, but it happens..
    I am stuck with the Servel tutorial,
    1) I have Tomcat 4.0 up and running; that is http://localhost:8080 shows me tomcat welcome message.
    2) I've downloaded the tut-bookstore..zip and unpacked the bookstore.war file into the Context-root folder which is webapps folder.
    The documentation says it will automatically unpack the file .war into a new folder and will give you access to it.
    3) I issued the command http://localhost:8080/bookstore/enter
    and http://localhost:8080/bookstore
    and many other variations, it did not unpack the file and it come back wtih error 4.0.4 which says:
    The requested resource (/bookstore/enter) is not available.
    Can any one kindly, pleasly, smily, helpy help?
    Thanks.

    Sometimes when you work hard, you lose focus.
    Actually I got this figured out, but thought my solution may be an answer for another tired hardworking Java programmers.
    The solution is :
    Re-start tomcat using the start/stop feature in the program menu (in Windows environment), and not the Start/stop service from the control panel.
    Take care guys.

  • "No PasswordCredential Found" while running bookstore tutorial

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get the J2EE bookstore1 example to work.
    When I go to the page http://localhost:8080/bookstore1/bookstore I have this error message "No PasswordCredential Found"
    I'm using NetbeansIDE 6.5.1 and Glassfish. I only run the example just like in the tutorial.
    I also checked the Resources in glassfish. I have the user and password set up in the "DerbyPool" in the Connection Pool. I also can ping it successfully.
    Can someone give me an idea, what did I do wrong?

    Just a stab in the dark, but did you create the required database and tables in MySQL for this app? Also, what's the stacktrace. I'm sure it'll be helpful to look at the exception that occurred

    Hello everyone,
    I am having problems deploying the Duke's Bookstore example. I am trying to follow the tutorial.
    I have already updated the information concerning AS_ADMIN_PASSWORD on the file "build.properties". It took me some times... by the way i am new in J2EE tecnology and i am trying to get the example working so i can see the example running.
    Right now i am able to run ant to build the example so i get the .war file and the other files in the "build" and "dist" directory.
    I am stock in the operation concerning the database. I get to the same error weather i try "ant deploy" or "ant create-tables"... this is the message that i get:

  • Duke's Bookstore Example (yet again)

    Folks'es,
    i'm currently ploughing my way through the j2ee tutorial 1.4. now that i come to the interesting parts (JSP et al) i'm stuck with getting the bookstore example to work.
    i've done everything to compile and packge the bookstore.jar, i've created and populated the database, and created the data source in the server, all without problems.
    but then it says under the heading "Specifying a Web Application's Resource Reference", that i should use deploytool and "1.Select the WAR (created in Chapters 11 through 22).". but i have no war file for the bookstore example! (i have some war's for the other examples and that's all.)
    what am i missing? were did i go wrong?
    any help is greatly appreciated.
    thomas

    well, i found it by just reading on (several 100s of pages).
    you actually need to do all this much later (pg 443 ff).

  • Duke's Bookstore - bugs in tutorial

    Hello Friends,
    I've installed the latest J2EE 1.4 tutorial, and tried to compile Duke's Bookstore example.
    I got many errors - references to classes that don't exist.
    For example, database.BookDetails - the class is not in database package. The only class there is BookDBAO.java... etc.
    Sure Sun should do simple testing before releasing the tutorial for public download???
    I ran standard "asant build" task... Other examples build with no errors.

    The suggestion to add bookstore.jar was a response to the compilation errors.
    If you can't create the connection to the database, it's probably because you haven't created the JDBC resource in the Application Server or you haven't mapped the jdbc/BookDB resource reference in the WAR to the JDBC resource in the Application Server.
    If you still have a problem, there may be an error in the JDBC resource reference. I have seen the error "BookDB not found" if the JDBC resource reference has a trailing space. If you look in J2EE_HOME/domains/domain1/config/domain.xml you should have a JDBC resource defined as follows:
    <jdbc-resource enabled="true" jndi-name="jdbc/BookDB" object-type="user" pool-name="PointBasePool"/>
    If there is an extra space after BookDB as shown below , the resource name won't be resolved correctly:
    <jdbc-resource enabled="true" jndi-name="jdbc/BookDB " object-type="user" pool-name="PointBasePool"/>
    You can either edit domain.xml and restart the server, or recreate the JDBC resource.
