Bose QuietComfort 2

My Bose QuietComfort 2 do not funtion with my Ipod. Do I require an adapter for the Jack?

You need to use one of the headphone adapters. The jack on the iPhone is a non-standard 4-conductor plug (to support the microphone on the apple headset). It must be adapted to use a standard 3-conductor stereo plug, such as on your Bose.

The sound on my iphone 5s plugged into my Bose® QuietComfort® 20i  headphones are eratic
Sometimes it work well sometimes they do not.  I can plu them in and volume goes up and down nicely
then somtimes after trying to use voice on it i can no longer use the volume level control at all.
I can use the skip function but no longer the mic on it or the volume.
I take my spare pair of bose heaphones out with similar controls just not noise cancel and they also
will not work on volume control.
I take both headphones and plug them in my itouch 2s  not running ios7  and they both work great.
I have to reboot the phone to try and make it work again but that is not alwasy the fix.
I have phoned up Bose who think its the headset and that I should mess around with UPS and wait another 7 dyas while they fix my brand new £250 quid headphones but personally after the checks i have done i think its the ios7 bug somewhere
Can I be the only person with this problem ? if so maybe i should send both pairs of heaphones back ?
I have also just completeyl wiped iphone in case it was a blip bug but no still same issue
    Help
    Darren

    I have the same problem.
The volume control on the QC20i does not work with the iPhone 5s. It does work however with the iPad Air. So it probably isn't a simple IOS 7 defect, more likely some interaction of s/w and h/w.
I plan to give Bose support a call later this week and see what they suggest.

  • IPod Nano and Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones

I purchased Bose QuietComfort 2 haedphones today; very impressive with my Nano. The headphones have a hi and low setting; battery operated devices like the Nano should use the high setting, but I found only one earpies worked on hi and it was distorted. The volume is limited at the low setting. Anyone else noticed this? I'm hoping the battery charge time for the nano is not reduced by using the low setting on the headphones. Any comments or experiences to share? These still sound the best of the noise cancelling headphones I have tried.
    Thanks

I use the QC2s with my Nano. The earphone jack on the Nano is a surprisingly snug fit. Make sure you are plugging the headphones in all the way.

  • Bose Headphone's Microphone doesn't work with my HP Desktop

    Hello,
I've recently purchased a HP Pavilion p7-1240, which comes with Beats Audio. I have a Bose Quietcomfort 15 Headphones and there's a microphone attached to it. I plug it in the front audio line and the microphone doesn't seem to work. I've been looking around the audio setting but nothing seems to fix the problem. I use the microphone for my laptop so I know that my headphones are working fine. Can someone please tell me what the problem is?
    Thank you in advance!

I know it's a very old post, but for the benefit of everyone... i'll answer it.
Bose QC-15 got 2 cables with it.
To use it as a headset only for your PC (there's no microphone in it)
The other cable with a microphone in it is to be used with Apple products (iPhone for example).
Your PC require 2 connections... 1 to hear the sound (usually the green connector), and 1 for the microphone (usually the pink connector).
If you connect your Apple cable into the green connector, don't expect your computer to hear your voice!
I've heard that with simply a cheap splitter, you can split mic & speaker from your Apple cable, and connect it in your PC.  But if i were you, i would contact Bose first...    I wouldn't like to blow up a 300$ headset just because of a "I've heard of".

  • Direct Audio Power not working as designed.

So I have been running my system just fine since right before Christmas with no issues.  Recently, I decided to upgrade my Bose Quietcomfort 3 headphones to a decent Sennheiser gaming headset.  I ended up buying the Sennheiser PC 350 SE headset, which is supposed to be a 150 ohm impedance.  This should mean that with the Direct Audio Power connector connected, I should be able to push 600 ohms to the headset, which should be MORE than enough to drive it.  I have hooked up the 4-pin molex connector the the motherboard, and flipped the dip-switch to direct audio power, and there seems to be absolutely no difference in the amount of sound coming from the headphones.  With the volumes pushed up all the way to 100%, I can still hear people talking in the next room, which should be impossible with the headphones if enough power is presented to them.
I have already updated the Realtek audio driver to the latest version, so that shouldn't be the issue.
I can buy an amp if I need to, but I really shouldn't need to with this motherboard, so I'm hoping someone else has had this issue and has a potential resolution for me.
    Thanks for any replies!

Sorry, I could have sworn that I included my motherboard model in my description.  I'm using the Z97 Gaming 9 motherboard.  My headset connects to the rear audio jacks, because the rear jack is the only one that is has an amplifier.
I think you might be a little confused about what impedance is.  150 ohms is a measure of the amount of power required to drive the speaker.  Typically headphones used for ipods and such will be around 25 ohms or less, but if presented with too much power, they can blow out.  Heaphones with higher impedence require more power to fully power the speaker.  So a 150 ohm headphone should be able to get WAY more than enough power from an onboard amplifier that claims to be able to support 600 ohms.  This motherboard in particular advertises that they can power a 600 ohm speaker.

  • Purity By Monster impressions

    Hi
I wanted to share my thoughts about my experience with the 3 different headphones that www.puritybymonster.com offer.
    * WH-930
These wher the first ones I tried out, the sound quality was pretty good but since they are the "On ear" type they started to hurt my ear after a little while. I really liked the cable that came with it though since it could control answer the phone and volume up/down
    * WH-920
This is the "in-ear" type which I couldn't use at all, they could simply not stay in the ear but kept poping out. And the sound quality was not very impressive at all.
    * BH-940
These are the most expensive "around ear" headphones they offer and let me tell you I had some high hopes for theese ones. They are very stylish, great features and really good sound quality. The noise cancelation also worked very well. But they are too heavy and have to little headband couching, therfore they where uncomfortable after a litte while.
I must say that after have tried all these 3 models I'm very disapointed since they are made specificaly for the Nokia phones in mind, and they have all the funcionality that should be there. I mean headphones need have great sound, be stylish and all that, but they have to be comfortable to wear otherwise it does not matter.
Now I find myself looking at other headphones like the Sennheiser PXC 450 or the Bose QuietComfort 15, they don't have the ability to skip track or answer the phone using a cable but they are at least comfortable and are supposed to have great sound too.
I have been using the iPhone eco system for quite a while but have jumped over to Lumia 920, but is quite disapointed by the lack of acessories, Nokias colaboration with Monster should have produced better headphones.

All you will get here are experiences and guesses. Nokia does not repspond to posts here. You best bet would be Nokia Care.
My experience would be that it works fine.

  • Buzzing noise in left earbud

    Hello
I have a Macbook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) and my problem is every time I use my earbuds (Bose QuietComfort 20i) I hear this really annoying buzzing noise in the left earbud only. It all started suddenly for a couple of weeks ago without further.
    - The noise won't disappear if I turn down or up for the volume.
    - If I touch my Macbook Pro the noise goes away completely.
    - The buzzing noise change intensity randomly.
I'm sure it's not my earbuds which are or causing the problem because they work flawlessly on every other device.
Do anyone have a clue what could be causing this noise?
    Thank you so much

Perhaps a PRAM reset will help:

  • Buzz through headphones

    Hello all,
I love my Macbook Pro, but have discovered that I get a constant buzz when using the machine with headphones or external speakers via the 3.5mm audio-out jack. I have to listen carefully to hear it with external speakers, but it is un-ignorable with headphones. I've currently been using Bose Quietcomfort 2 headphones and have been having the problem, but it exists with all other gear used. The only solution I've found is to just use the internal speakers (not always possible) or to keep a hand on the chassis of the computer (which gets rid of the buzz. The noise occurs regardless of whether it's plugged in, on my desk, on my lap, etc...the only fix seems to be to stay in constant skin-to-chassis contact...not quite good enough. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
    -Steffen

Hello, I used the Macbook Pro for playback through a professional sound desk and PA system. Probably due to the amount of amplification involved the problem is much more noticeable. I will be going back to using my old Powerbook as it doesn't exhibit any of these problems. The only way to get around this was to run the MBpro through a DI box with a ground lift (see http://www.whirlwindusa.com/tech02.html). This significantly reduced the noise which points to the fact that there is a DESIGN FAULT with the laptop. Especially as it is often used in live sound environments. The only time I have ever come across this problem before was on VERY BUDGET products where you may expect this sort of thing.
Using a ground lift points to a dirty signal that has been affected by usually mains voltage (seems to happen even when not plugged in) I think there must be a poor design somewhere along the line with power bleeding into the soundcard electronics. Its all to do with complicated physics different Mhz etc. When you touch the case of the computer you are effectively acting as an alternative grounding point the stray power is going to you not grounding through the soundcard and speakers, or soundcard and your head with headphones. Whilst this should not pose any harm it is not a good sign.
I would personally be tempted to contact support and explain the situation and ask for a replacement, if they state it is a design fact maybe consider a refund as this as stated earlier is something I have only ever come across on very cheap and inferior products. I guess as it is an apple you didn't pay a price of an inferior product or model?!?
I think I will be holding back a little before upgrading (??????????) my powerbook.
Hope this gives you some background info and ammo?

  • W520 AUDIO CRAKLE WHEN OPEN FILES AND WEBSITES

THINKPAD W520 GET FOR 10 DAYS. I have found some problems with the audio device as below:
    1. When I plugin earphone and open the folders and websites, there is always a electric-crackle coming with the windows defult click sound. ALWAYS,  like a bug in my ear.   However, I found a solution for the crackle, turn on an audio player and play a song. keep the song going and then open the folders ,there is no crackle.  Once I close the player. The crackle comes again.
    It's so boring.
    2. I think the second one is probably  the same problem . when I go to youtube and select a video, there comes the electric-crackle first and then the audio part. when the video finishes there is a crackle noise again.  in short, every audio ,including the windows system sound, begins with a crackle and ends with a crackle.  To cancle that, use the same method, just turn on the player and play a song.
    3. When I open the Smart Audio, I switch the Class Mode to the Multistream Mode, there comes the crackle again. And same method to cancle that too.
So, there must be a relationship between the song and the crackle, once the song is going there is no crackle. When the song ends ,the noise comes again.
Does anyone have the same problem? Who can fix it ?
Do you think that is a hardware problem or software problem?Do I need to return it?

I have the same problems described. The audio makes a loud crackling noise when the audio jack is plugged in- I use a BOSE quietcomfort 15 headphone. Besides that, i have noticed that there is definitely driver conlicts by using LatencyMON and DPC latency checker. The huge spike of latency affects the audio playback quality. Source seems to be the conexant audio driver. I did an uninstall on the stock driver and use the default windows 7 audio driver. It does alleviate the problems but there are still conflict (maybe once or twice every 2 minutes). It will become worse if u play 2 audio sources at the same time. Like streaming an online video and playing your own mp3s.
Hate to say this but it is a total bummer for such a powerful workstation. This is certainly a huge issue that lenovo should address in their upcoming driver or maybe BIOS updates. I believe there are many other users who have the same kind of problems. Just that they need to be more aware to notice it.

  • How do I set upmy Imac to allow using both my computer speakers and a Bose SoundLink system as outputs at the same time.  I can use one or the other, but not both.

how do I set up my Imac to allow using both my computer speakers and a Bose SoundLink system as outputs at the same time.  I can use one or the other, but not both.  From systems Preferences I must select one or the other.  I want both to work all the time.

    Hi,
I would recommend you to use 0FI_AP_4 rather using both, particularly for many reasons -
    1. DS: 0FI_AP_4  replaces DataSource 0FI_AP_3 and still uses the same extraction structure. For more details refer to the OSS note 410797.
    2. You can run the 0FI_AP_4 independent of any other FI datasources like 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_GL_4 or even 0FI_GL_14. For more details refer to the OSS note: 551044.
    3. Map the 0FI_AP_4 to DSO: 0FIAP_O03 (or create a Z one as per your requirement).
    4. Load the same to a InfoCube (0FIAP_C03).
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • I have just updated my PC with version11.14. I can no longer connect to my Bose 30 soundtouch via media player Can anyone help please

I have a Bose soundtouch system .Until today I could play my iTunes music through it via air  player . .I have just uploaded the latest upgrade from iTunes and now I am unable to connect to the Bose system . Can anyone help please? I can connect via my iPad and by using the Bose app so it is not the Bose at fault

@puebloryan, I realize this thread is a bit old, but I have encountered a similr problem and wondered if you had found a solution. I've been using home sharing from itines on my PCs for years, but two days ago, it suddenly stopped. I can share from my Macs, but not from the ONE PC library where I keep all my tunes. I tried all the usual trouble-shooting measures.
After turning home sharing off on the PC's iTunes, turning it back on and turning some other settings off and on, my Macs and Apple TV could briefly "see" the PC library, but as soon as I try to connect -- the wheel spins for a bit and then the connection vanishes. It's as if they try and then give up.
Since this sounds so similar to your problem, I was hoping you finally found a solution. I am also starting a new thread. Thanks!

  • Ipod No Longer Charging on Bose Sounddock

Recently my 5th gen. Ipod (ver 1.3 software) stopped charging on my gen 1 bosesound dock and my other earlier sound systems (JBL portable speakers, etc.), however it still will play music. It will charge on a new Ihome I recently bought... All my research has shown this problem to exist with the new Ipod touch models that are firewire charge only, but not with 5th Gen. I've tried it on other bose sounddocks and it won't charge on those either, however an non-updated gen 5 my family has still charges fine on all the devices. The only thing I can think of is that the new Itunes 8.2.1.6 update that I installed changed the charging operations for my Ipod (it stopped working just after I updated it and synched my Ipod). Can anyone confirm if this is the case and how to fix it?

  • Bose headset no longer works on iPhone 4

My Bose headset, which worked flawlessly on 3GS, no longer works for voice control and voice memos on my new iphone 4. They still work fine as headphones but the microphone no longer is operational. The Apple supplied headset works and if I unplug the Bose set the voice dialing and memos work okay.
But when I use the Bose headset and try to record a voice memo it includes a rhythmic static every half second or so. Voice control is completely non-operational with this headset. I'm thinking something with the noise canceling is screwed up.
Anyone have any possible work arounds?

Ya, this is a bit of a Joke.
I have an $80 pair of skullcandy headphones with Mic that I just recently purchased for my iPhone 3G. When I jumped to the iPhone4 it doesnt work. The apple headset works every time. When I plug in the skull candy, I can hear the person I'm calling but they cant hear me and to add to that, there is this staticy pulsing sound on the line from the headset. If I press and hold the Talk/Music button on my SC headset, the person I'm calling can hear me but they say I sound like I'm in the background. I thought as you did that the mic on the phone was then in use, but when i disconnected the headset, the person I called said it changed and I sounded "Really" far away at that point.
Apple: So how do I fix this? I refuse to carry around two headsets and the apple headset is less than desireable for quality music listening.
