BPEL Patch 4406640 Installation

Hi,
I am trying to install patch 4406640 on Linux and first thing it errors out
ERROR: Missing required ANT files.
Please verify that the Oracle Home is correct.
Reading the README.txt does not talk about the ANT installation as being the requirement. What specific files is this installation looking for?
Thanks,
Mustafa

What type of installation is that home? - use OUI to check Installed Products homes.
Are you supplying the correct home dir to patch installer?
Did you verify with Support that this patch does not require any other patch/PSE (hence the "missing" files)?

If you have installed a patch to the server, please check that the bpelcClasspath domain property includes the patch classes.

looks like the patch was not applied correctly, you are seeing some mismatched classes. the signature of the methods are different.
is it possible to move to 10.1.3.3.0. there are some cool features and tons of issues fixed on 10.1.3.3.0.

  • 9.2.0.3 patch set installation fails on Solaris 8

i've installed Oracle9iR2 (64-bit) client on a Solaris 8 system and i'm now having problems installing the 9.2.0.3 patch set. during the installation process i get the following error message from OUI:
Error in invoking target install of makefile
    $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk
i checked the installation log and then $ORACLE_HOME/install/make.log. make.log reports that the failing command is:
    /usr/ccs/bin/make -f ins_net_client.mk install ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle9i/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0
this command fails when trying to link trcroute. the link command seems to have incorrect paths as it seems to expect to find crt?.o files from $ORACLE_HOME/lib/WS6U1 while they are located in $ORACLE_HOME/lib/WS6U2/lib/v9. i modified $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/env_network.mk (CCVER, COMPOBJ) so that crt?.o can be found.
after this change the same link command fails with this message:
    ld: fatal: file $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/s0nur.o:
    wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to trcroute
    *** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `trcroute'
i checked the object files in network/lib and they all seem to be ELF 32-bit.
does someone know what's causing these problems with the installation and how to fix it?
    best regards,
    aspa

that's what i started to suspect as well. it's quite likely that the patch is for 32-bit installations. i'll try it with the 64-bit patch. thanks.

Before installing the patch, when saving items in a treeTable or table, the position of the table would remain after the save.  Now, after applying the patch, anytime a save is performed, the table repositions automatically to the top row.  This is not what we want to happen.  Also I should note that we are only using ADF Faces with EJB; we are not using the full ADF stack (no business components).
Is this known behavior for patch 14582286?  How can we correct this?
    Thanks,
    John

    Frank,
Thanks for the reply.  After the save/update, the selected row remains.  Meaning, we can select a row, update a field in that row, then save.  At that point, the table is repositioned to the very top.  However, I can scroll back down to find that the row that was updated is still selected.  I tried putting displayRow="selected" on the table component, but this did not seem to help.
I have not contacted support, as I would not have a test case to provide (this is an application that requires our database, and possibly the unique combination of patches applied to our server).
There is also another table in our application that is fairly simple, where we are not manually manipulating any row keys, and the same behavior is occurring.
If we did not previously have to take a snapshot of the selected rowkeys, what might have changed in that patch to make that a requirement now?
    Thanks,
    John

  • Solaris 8 x86 patch cluster installation

hi. i recently installed solaris 8 x86 on my intel p4 machine. i got through the installation fine but i am now running into problems with installing the 8x86 recommended patch cluster.
whenever i run the install_cluster script, it says every patch failed to install due to return code 1. i even tried manually installing the patches manually via patchadd...but i end up getting a message saying the patch directory is not valid.
i basically downloaded the 8x86 recommended patch cluster zip file on a windows 2k machine. i unzip the file and then burn the patches onto a cd. i then copy the patches from the cd onto my solaris machine and try to install the patches that way. so far...this doesn't work..and i dont know what im doing wrong.
does anyone know how to fix this problem? thx.

hi again. i just fixed my problem. apparently when i unzipped the file and then burned it onto cd...the data got corrupted. i fixed it by copying the zip file onto cd and then extracting the patches onto the solaris machine.

  • ACS 4.2.1.15 patch 4 installation

    Hi everybody,

  • BPEL process manager installation in linux/JBoss

    Hi,
I need to install the BPEL process manager in our client systems. Their requirement is to install the BPEL process manager in linux environment on top of JBoss application server. Is there any special parameters needs to be set. I have also gone through the installation document. It would be nice if anyone share the installation experience in linux environement.
I have no experience in installing in linux system. I have accesed it through telnet. How to install the BPEL process mangaer in linux. Is it possible to install through telnet??
    Regards
    Jude.

You must install SOA Suite on a linux box where you have the possibility to run an X-Server. You could:
    1)
assuming you have an X-Server (example XMing) running on your workstation
    start ssh -X <hostname>
    execute ./runinstaller.sh
    2)
assuming you have an X-Server (example XMing) running on your workstation
    start telnet <hostname>
    export DISPLAY=<your workstation>:0
    execute ./runinstaller.sh
    Good luck,

    hi,
We are in the process of upgrading our development Enterprise Portal (EP 6.0, Oracle 9.2.04) up to the latest support packs and patch levels.
    We have successfully installed: -
    SDM Patch 14
    SAP Java Libs 20
    J2ee Patch 34
However, EP 6.20 SP2 Patch 35 (current patch level is 4 hotfix 5) is giving the following error when attempting to install:

    Managed to resolve this.
SAP provided the following fix: -
In the SAPInst temp directory on the first excution of the patch "keydb.xml" will be created.
    Search for string -
    <table name="t_installJ2eeEngines"
    amespaces="EP60_PATCH">
    There you will find
    <row>
    <fld name="J2EE_INSTANCE_NUMBER">

I am trying to install patch 6656317 on Windows Vista. This patch will upgrade the Oracle Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant to 10.1.2.0.3.
When I run setup from b:\disk1, I have the following error "Invalid staging area. There are no top component for Windows NT, Windows 2000 available for installation in this staging area."
    Any clue why ?
    Thanks for your help.
    François

    Hello,
    Thanks for your answer.
But my problem, don't seem to be that.
My staging area is b:\disk\stage. I also have a products.xml in this directory that don't seem to be corrupted.
Theses files were unzip with winzip.
I already installed many Oracle component (database, iAS 10g, Developer Suite, etc.) and never had that kind of problem.
    Any other suggestion.
    Thanks again.
    François

  • Patch Pro Installation on Solaris 9

I've been attempting to install Patch Pro 2.0 for a Solaris 9 install. I can't seem to find the needed install file to download. I've followed the instructions that I've found on Sun's document "Signed Patches Administration Guide for PatchPro 2.2". The document says to download for Solaris 9 can be found on SunSolve. The only link that I can find on the SunSolve page has a download for Solaris 8 (http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=40c8c2ad) This download doesn't work because the OS is a different version.
I don't know if this is an oversite of Sun on their web site. If someone knows where to find the needed download for Patch Pro for Solaris 9 it would be greatly appreciated.

    go to http://www.sun.com/download
look under A to Z section
Product Downloads Sun Patch Manager 2.0
Please note mentioned in the downlaod page: quote from the Web page:
"CAUTION: If you already have Sun Patch manager 2.0 installed on your Solaris 9 system, subsequently installing revisions 28-34 of patch ID 112945 on SPARC&#91;R&#93; systems or revisions 18-25 of patch ID 114193 on x86 systems broke Patch Manager. To correct this problem, you must first run the /usr/lib/patch/pmunsetup script to uninstall Patch Manager. When prompted to uninstall the J2SE&#91;tm&#93; software, answer no. Then, install Patch Manager (at least patch 112945-35 (SPARC) or 114193-26 (x86)). "
or just load the lastest recommended patches and updates (assuming the SUNWppro and SUNWpcfg patch pro config package is uninstalled)
make sure the files exist in /etc/parch or touch patch.conf and secret.conf and then run the smpatch or pprosetup options for your sunsolve contract userid and password is placed in /usr/lib/.sunsolvepw file and is set for perm of 600.
also if you do not go through a web proxy then enter in a pprosetup -x <cr> to null web proxy values out. and check the dmesg for errors.
