BPEL Transaction Management from Client Caller

Hi Guys,
I have read many articles and postings so far on transaction management, but they all seem to relate to within the BPEL process itself. I want to know if the following is doable within BPEL and if so how to configure it.
- I have a J2EE application that integrates with BPEL through the ITaskService (using Remote EJBs underneath the cover) - Oracle BPEL is installed on a separate machine on the OC4J container.
- So, is there a way for the operations done to the ITaskService to participate in my J2EE application's transaction, to give you an example:
- Begin Transaction()
- user does something that results in updating a task's attribute
- some other operations are being performed; if there is an exception thrown, roll back
- End Transaction()
Thanks very much in advance.
Drew

Hi Drew,
Please refer Antony Reynold's blog:
http://blogs.oracle.com/reynolds/2008/09/transaction_processing_in_bpel.html
It says when the BPEL Process is invoked from a java API that has its own
transaction context, the BPEL Process also will participate in the same
transaction context.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Vasanth

  • Need info regarding BPEL Transaction Management

    Hi All,
    Can anybody gives me information regarding how much BPEL support for transaction Management.
    Up to what level transactional behaviours can now BPEL (10.1.3.3) offer so far.WS-Transaction still can be expected from this current version. If somebody gives me the link of any document link that will be much fruitful to me.
    Thanks in advance

    Refer to the link :-http://download.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa_best_practices_1013x_drop3.pdf
    Under the section transaction you'll get an overview of BPEL transaction management.

  • Transaction management with DatabaseControl calls in Workshop

    hej,
    How can DatabaseControl calls be grouped within a transaction from a Forward method? For example, if I have the following:
    protected Forward () {
    <DatabaseControl>.insert1 ();
    <DatabaseControl>.update1 ();
    <DatabaseControl>.update2 ();
    The insert1, update1, and update3 calls should be grouped together in a transaction so that if update2 fails everything gets rolled back.
    Using weblogic.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver driver against DB2 8.2 (plus 2 phased commit is enabled for non-XA drivers on the DataSource object).
    / Matthew Young

    Found a partial answer to my own question. Wrap a Custom Control around the DatabaseControl calls and automatically get transaction managing.
    Would be cool if somebody could give a simple example or a few pointer. / Matthew

  • BPEL invocation securely from client using JAZN security not working.

    HI,
    We are trying to invoke the BPEL process securely from the client application using JAZN security settings, this is not working, with any credentilas or with out providing the security credentilas BPEL invocation is happening. Need the solution for this security credentials while invoking the BPEL process.
    Please provide the update at the earliest. Thanks in advance. Your quick update is greatly appreciated.

    Hi James,
    Thanks for the update.

  • How to connect to BPEL Process Manager from Jdeveloper11g

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect to the local BPEL process manager server through Jdeveloper. However, I cannot seem to find the right option to do that in the Connections navigator i.e. there is no option under which I can define the connection for my local BPEL server.
    These are the only options I get to create a new connection for, under Applications Server Navigator are -
    1.) Applications Server Connection
    2.) BAM Connection
    3.) BI Presentation Services Connection
    4.) Content repository Connection
    5.) Database Connection
    ... and some others, but there is no BPEL process manager connection option just like we had it in the Jdeveloper BPEL designer edition.
    Any pointers/guidelines would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shishir

    How is it possible through Jdeveloper BPEL Designer 10g to connect to a BPEL oj4J server. I tried to use Jdeveloper 10.1.3.2 to connect to my BPEL process manager but the same problem is there as well ( i.e. no BPEL connection option).
    Is it possible to use BAM connection to connect to BPEL server?
    Anirudh Pucha wrote:
    Also, The connections tab supports only Oracle (BEA) Weblogic 10g R3. Deployments to OC4J is not supported but will be incorporated later. So, I dont think you can use BPEL 10.1.3.1.0 for this.

  • BPEL Transaction management

    Hi,
    How can I manage transaction rollback in the following scenario?
    I have a database adapter say db1 which is invoked multiple times within a while loop.
    If any of the invokes of db1 fail, all the previous invokes of db1 should rollback. I tried using global transaction=participate which rolled back the entire bpel activities.However I want only the db calls in thw while loop to be rolled back.
    How can I achieve this?

    Rule of thumb is checkpoint will commit your XA transaction. now during insertion if something fails - anything before checkpoint will NOT be rolled back.
    I didn't understand your use case about sensor data, but I think you wouldn't loose it if you do bpel commit (checkpoint).
    Datasources: you can create local/global datasources, and use local where you don't want database to participate in transaction.

  • Traffic management from client to DAO

    Hi,
    How to look at traffic from web client to the backend? whether Java provide any internals do it or we need to use 3rd party tools like fiddler?
    Thanks.

    Rhetoric question - you get no responses so the answer is no. What you mean to say is "bump".
    if you want answers, ask a clear question. A question comprising one or two short sentences is hardly ever clear because it contains no information and/or background.

  • Deleting imports from client 800

    Hi,
    I had imported few transports into my system.I cannot change these objects as I do not have the license to do so and they were only for reference purposes.Now I want to delete these objects completely from my client 800.Is that possible ?
    I also have one more question : Whenever I make changes to the 800 client (any new implementation) , it reflects in client 000 as well.Why is that so ? Isn't 000 the SAP source client and should not have the new SAP implementations ? It does not however contain the SAP transaction data from client 800.
    Kindly suggest. _

    1. If I have the license installed in my SID I01 , 46 C IDES , can i install the same license in my 47 E , SID DRS system ?
    No
    2. When I installed the IDES 47 E in my Win2003 server m/c , i see that the temp license has a validity upto 10th March , 2012. Is it possible to go ahead with development in this system in the customer z workspace? Does the validity date point that after this date I would be unable to access or work with this system ?
    Ideally you have to install another license before expiry.  But you may be able to work on temp license for 2 weeks.

    3. If I have to obtain a fresh license , how should I go about it and how much does it cost for this license ?
    Note 94998 - Requesting license keys and deleting systems. For costing you may contact SAP directly as it is not available online anywhere.

  • Set the default field value to transaction code field, when calling from WD

    Hi all,
    Can we pass the value in a input field of a standard transaction calling from WD application. Suppose we are calling a transaction VA03 in an external window, then how will be pass the value in the VBAK_VBELN screen field.
    Is there any way to pass the value to this transaction field. I have also tried out to set the parameter ID 'AUN' for VA03 transaction VBELN field. But it did not work for me.
    Is there any way to set the default field value to transaction code field, when calling from WD?
    Please suggest, if anyone have any idea.
    Thanks
    Sanket

    Hi,
    I am using the below code to open a standard transaction. It will help you to explain my point more easily.
    DATA: url TYPE string,
              host TYPE string,
              port TYPE string.
    *Call below method to get host and port
      cl_http_server=>if_http_server~get_location(
         IMPORTING host = host
                port = port ).
    *create URL
      CONCATENATE 'http'
      '://' host ':' port
      '/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/?sap-client=&~transaction=' 'VA03'
       INTO url.
    *get the window manager as we are opening t code in external window.
      DATA lo_window_manager TYPE REF TO if_wd_window_manager.
      DATA lo_api_component TYPE REF TO if_wd_component.
      DATA lo_window TYPE REF TO if_wd_window.
      lo_api_component = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
      lo_window_manager = lo_api_component->get_window_manager( ).
    call the url which we created above
      lo_window_manager->create_external_window(
      EXPORTING
      url = url
      RECEIVING
      window = lo_window ).
      lo_window->open( ).
    Note*
    One more query I want to add to this thread, that is there any possibility to call a custom transaction as well?

  • What process manages XA transaction for Corba clients?

    Hello,
    what process manages the XA transactions on behalf of Corba clients?
    Is it ISL itself? Or should there be a transaction manager associated with the group that includes ISL? Or is a TM automatically associated with the ISL?

    The client uses a Corba object in SvrApp. SvrApp uses the DB and a Tuxedo queue.
    The client uses the TransactionCurrent object in the ISL to start and finish the transaction. SvrApp uses TMS_ORA to handle the DB part of the transaction, and TMQUEUE uses TMS_QM to handle the queue part of the transaction. What coordinates the overall transaction?
    Thanks...

    Hi Todd,
    we have been able to collect system call information with tusc. It appears that at times the client process is spinning on a semop() call. We only have a few samples, and they show 0, for or 6 semop() calls just before the commit.

  • Calling Remote interface from client

    Hi there!
    I am working on a BMP (using weblogic 6.1)
    My problem is - How do I contact remote interface from client. In my jndi tree I have mentioned only Home interface. Right now I am calling my remote interface like this:
    //contact home interface
    Object obj = ctx.lookup("APIHome");
    APIHome home = (APIHome) javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj, APIHome.class);
    //creating remote somehow - I got this clue from a website
    rem = home.findByPrimaryKey(new EntityPK("test1","test2"));
    //calling getter & setter methods
    rem.setWidth()
    rem.getId();
    This works...but doesn't make any sense to me. Why should we initialize remote interface as above. Or is there any other option. Can somebody please explain me more clearly about this concept.
    Thanks very much
    regards
    -Manasvi

    The HomeInterface contains two types of methods - create and find. The create methods create an instance of the entity bean(i.e., a record in the database) and the finder methods finds an existing record in the database, constructs an entity bean representing this row and returns the remote interface of this bean to the client for further manipulations.

  • How to call external application (transaction launcher) from event method

    Hi all
    Can somebody tell me which program lines to put into an event handler method in a view controller to get an external application called. I intend to define the link to the external application in the Transaction Launcher. But I cannot find any instructions on how to call the Transaction Launcher from my event handler method. I do not want to launch the application from the navigation bar, ONLY via a link in a list of invoices in a table view, and I want to press the invoice number to get an external application called to display the invoice. My event handler method gets called fine enough, but I have no clue which program lines to put into the method to pass on the call to the Transaction Launcher

  • JCD - making a web service client call from a jcd

    Hi,
    We would like to make web service client calls from our jcd's in Java CAPS 5.1.2 to an external web services running under a Tomcat 5.5 servlet.
    What is the recommended method of calling web services from a jcd?
    We attempted to import a WSDL and use the wsdl object but that failed.
    One alternative I thought of is generating the client classes from Axis 1.3 and importing an external .jar file with those classes plus the necessary jar to run Axis.
    Our external web services are typed as docment/literal, wrapped.
    Thanks

    The recommended way to make Web Services calls from a Java Collaboration is to use the support for this feature in JCaps 5.1.2. This means using the WSDL as an OTD and linking it to an external web service on the connectivity map.
    If you have trouble using the WSDl as an OTD you can open a support case with Sun support (http://goldstar.stc.com/support).

  • Call transaction LM05 from Z program

    Hi,
    I need to call transaction LM05 from a Z program, and when LM05 finishes then continue with the process in Z program. But when i use CALL TRANSACTION 'LM05' the process does not return to program Z, when LM05 finishes,it returns to main screen of 'LM05' but not Z program.
    I change CALL TRANSACTION by SUBMIT zrlmob001 AND RETURN, but it happens the same, because transaction 'LM05' continuosly evaluates the system variable SY-TCODE, and therefore SY-TCODE contains code transaction 'ZXX'.
    it exists a way to call a LM05 transaction from Z program, and then continue in z program after LM05 finishes?
    can i create a user exit screen for transaction LM05 and use the user exit to continue with the process that i wish in Z program after call transaction 'LM05'?
    I'm in SAP version ECC 6.0.
    Thanks in advance
    Alejandro

    Hi,
    I want to share how i resolved this topic:
    I searched for user exit, badi and did'nt find a correct way to solved this issue. Also, i tried to create a screen exit for transaction LM05, but the dynpro 2100 of program SAPLLMOB is used for transaction LM02, LM03, LM05 and for each one show a diferent initial screen, this logic cannot be suplied with my custom screen.
    Finally, how the final option, i used a enhancement implementation to add code in SAP standard program RLMOB001, and the problem was resolved. i am in version SAP ECC6.0, in this version is posible to create enhancement implementation, and for support package and upgrade, SAP will not overwrite your custom code.
