BPEL Upgrade to SOA 11g Issue

Hi there,
I migrated BPEL project from JDeveloer 10.1.3.3 to 11.1.1.3. When I deployed the project to soa_server1, I got error:
Error(39): unresolved messageType
WSDL messageType "{http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/}OutboundHeader_msg" of variable "outboundFile" is not defined in any of the WSDL files
Make sure the WSDL messageType "{http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/}OutboundHeader_msg" is defined in one of the WSDLs referenced by the deployment descriptor
I can see the message type is in one of the wsdl file as before upgrade. How should I fix the issue?
Thanks for your input.

Try to recreate the WSDL with right message type from the payload.

  • Modifying Memory Optimization parameter for BPEL process in SOA 11g

    Hello
I have turned on memory optimization parameter for my BPEL process in the composite.xml (11g)
this is what I have in composite.xml:
    <property name="bpel.config.inMemoryOptimization">false</property>
How do we modify this parameter in the EM console at runtime? I changed this property to "true" using the System MBean browser, but it wasn't taking effect. I thought the SOA server must be restarted (similar to what we used to do in 10g). But when I restart the SOA server, the parameter goes back to whatever the value was in the composite.xml ignoring the change I made in the System MBean browser
    Please share your thoughts.
    Thanks in advance.
    Raja

Deploying a newer version is not an option, as the endpoints could change (not sure if it would in 11g, but in 10g it does) and also, our service consumers will be pointing to the older version. As mentioned above, if clients are using URL without version then call will be forwarded to default version of composite internally. No manual tweaking required for this. Just make sure that while deploying the new version you are marking it as default.
Besides, we report on service metrics and having multiple versions just complicates things. Not at all. If you are not using versioning feature, you are really under utilizing the Oracle SOA 11g. Remember that metrics can be collected for a single composite with same effort, irrespective of the number of composite versions deployed. Only few product tables refer the version while storing composite name and rest all use only the composite name without version. I do not know how you are collecting service metrics but we use DB jobs for same it works perfectly with any number of composites having multiple versions deployed.
The idea is to do some debugging and collect audit trail in case there is a production issue by disabling inMemoryOptimization parameter. This is a live production environment and deploying whenever we want is not even an option for us, unfortunately. Why not debug by increasing log level. Diagnostic logs are the best option to debug an issue even in production. For getting audit trail you may re-produce the issue in lower environments. I think no organization will allow re-deployments just for debugging some issue in production until and unless it is too critical issue to handle.
Does this not supported in 11g? if it isn't, it does seem like a bug to me. You may always go ahead and raise a case with support.

  • Python script to automate the manual recovery of BPEL instances in SOA 11g

I have a requirement for automating the manual recovery of BPEL instances pending for recovery at a particular time. It will be called inside a cron job.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ravi Prakash

    Hi,
When I try to recover the instance that is waiting for manual recovery, I didn't see anything happening.
Also the the fault policy is active and working fine during the retry intervals. That means If I disable one of the webservices and enable them during the retry it is success after some failure retries.
Any ides why the recovery not working in SOA 10.1.3.3

  • Empty BPEL Process in SOA 11g.

    HI,
We created all bpel processes using Empty BPEL Process template Available in the jdeveloper. Then we add AQ adapter to read the data and calling some third party webservices.
Is empty Bpel Processes option act as synchronous or asynchronous?
as for my understanding its always act as a asynchronous.
    Please clear my doubt.

    Hi Pablo,
    Thanks For the reply.
we are using DB adapter which will poll on table, that means this is the service which creates the bpel instance.
the only prob we are facing is sometimes BPEL instances are never comeout from the RUNNING state and error its showing error as"The transaction was rolled back. The work performed for bpel instance "290086" was rolled back to the previous dehydration point, but the audit trail has been saved. You can recover the instance from the recovery console by resubmitting the callback message or activity for execution"
Oracle suggested this problem occurs when you are using Synchronous processes. increase the timeout settings.
DB adapter Polling is always Asynchronous?
can you just share your thoughts on this..

  • SOA 11g terminology question

Is there any reason why Oracle no longer using "BPEL" name in SOA 11g neither in WLS console nor in OEM? but rather use composite or composer......
    Thanks.

    Hi,
BPEL exists in 11g also. But the difference is that it doesn't exist as an independent entity. Its packaged inside a composite.Unlike 10g where you develop bpel sperately 11g has come up with SCA architecture where you package all you SOA components into your composite and deploy them as one application. The composite.xml forms the core here.

  • Trigger a BPEL Process using Email in SOA 11g

    Hi All,
    Greetings to SOA Gurus!!!
We are currently working on an Upgrade Project from SOA 10g to 11g and we have a requirement to upgrade a BPEL process which got triggered using an email in SOA 10g. We are not sure how we can achive this in SOA 11g instance. Any help on this is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Saravana

    Hi Saravana,
This feature is not out yet in 11g and is available only through Preview version.
    http://technology.amis.nl/2012/05/18/proces-email-with-the-new-ums-adapter-of-soa-suite-ps5/
You can use the above (without claiming support though) or can deploy OSB to do the same.

None of those roles are intended to be granted to application users. Those are instead to limit various operational / support responsibilities. For instance, if you have "operators" for your production environment who are responsible for starting & stopping servers vs "Administrators" who are performing configuration changes, etc.
The SOA* versions can be used to separate even further - an "Operator" ( with rights in the WL console ) can be distinct from a "SOAOperator" ( with rights in the SOA /em ), etc.

  • How to invoke secure web service from BPEL in SOA 11g

In SOA 11g I have a simple bpel process in which I am invoking a secured webservice as partnerlink. The webservice which is used in bpel process is deployed in weblogic and the SSL port is enabled on weblogic server. The wsdl url starts with "https:\\hostname:port\servicename?wsdl"
But I am getting compilation errors when i compiled the BPEL code
Error(16,65): Load of wsdl "AddressBookManager.wsdl" failed
Error(19,30): Load of wsdl "https://hostname:port/DV900/AddressBookManager?wsdl" failed
Error(35,102): Cannot find Port Type "{http://oracle.e1.bssv.JP010000/}Oracle_E1_SBF_SEI_PkgBldFile_AddressBookManager" for "AddressBookManager" in WSDL Manager
Can anyone please help me out in resolving this.
    Thanks,
    Shameem banu.

Solution is you need to import the keystore into Jdeveloper jdk first.
keytool -import -alias <name> -file <name>.pem -keystore <name>.jks -storepass <passwd>
All details in <> are your specific keystore, pwd details.
    Then go to Jdeveloper/jdev/bin
    add the following to
    jdev.conf file
    AddVMOption -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=path_to_keystore\keystorename.jks
    AddVMOption -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=password
Then you can create partner link for https based wsdl
    Good Luck

  • BPEL Process showing as service in SOA 11g version

    Hi All,
Morning...need some help with this as we are currently stuck with this.
In the SOA Suite 10g version (10.1.3.3) when we deployed a parent bpel process making a call to another bpel process ( child process ) via the partner link (by mentioning the complete WSDL location/url for the deployed child process in the partner link). When we see the flow/audit trail for such a bpel process in the BPEL Console it shows the separate flow diagrams of the bpel instances for the parent as well child process..
Now when we have migrated such a bpel process to SOA Suite 11g (J developer : 11.1.1.4) by opening up the project file ( .jpr ) for both the processes in Jdev 11g version and going through the migration steps in the wizard. It finally says migration to version 11.1.1.4 is successful
Now we deploy the child process successfully to the server --> Then compile/build the parent process --> deploy this parent as well.
1.Now when we see the composite.xml for the parent process in Design view it shows the child bpel process partner link in the External References section.
2.In the front end we invoke the parent process , it completes successfully ..we could see the flow diagram for this parent process..
But for the child bpel process we don't see a new separate instance created in the front end in the EM console
Could someone please let us know how this could be achieved so that we could see a separate bpel instance for the child bpel process as well..what settings/properties could be changed..
We need to see separate instances for the parent as well child bpel process within the BPEL Console.
    With regards

    Hi Todd,
first of all thanks for your response..i am putting below what exactly is happening.
    1. We trigger the parent process..
Go to SOA Composite for parent process --> Dashboard --> Recent Instances ---
there it shows the composite instance id lets say 123 for parent process..
We click the hyperlink for this instance id --> it opens up the Flow Trace screen -- on the right side it mentions the ECID value. this is correct ...
Now below it shows the Trace section. here in tabular format it shows below columns :
    Usage Instance Type Composite Instance
Service parent process name (hyperlinked) BPEL Component composite instance # 123
Reference child process name web service(local invocation) composite instance # 456
Now if we need to see the flow trace for the parent process we click the hyperlink just mentioned above and it opens up the flow trace page showing the bpel process instance details for parent process.
On the top right side it shows the BPEL id for this parent process. this is fine...
Now if we need to see the same flow details for the child bpel process..how do we see this in the frontend.
In the older version of SOA 10g Bpel Console 10.1.3.3 we used to see these 2 bpel processes separately in the BPEL Console under the BPEL processes tab & there we could see the instances for the child process with complete flow trace/audit details
This is the problem we are facing now..hope it is clear now.
    Thanks

  • SOA 11g: DB Adapter design issue

I have a Stored Procedure that reads from a table, and in my composite I have a DB adapter to read the procedure, pull the data and a use mediator/BPEL to pass the data on to a JMS adapter.
    The question is
    1. how to poll the DB adapter to invoke the Stored Procedure automatically, like file/ftp adapter
    2. can similar polling operation be done on a JMS adapter
I'm using SOA 11g with Weblogic Server 10.3 and Jdeveloper 11.1.1.2

You can't poll a stored procedure, you can only poll changes to database tables, and views.
Yes you can poll JMS like file adapter.
    cheers

  • Issues installing SOA 11G on Windows

I am having trouble installing SOA 11.1.1.6 on Windows 64 bit.
    1. I installed RCU
    2. I installed JDK 1.7.0.25 in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0.25
    3. I installed Web Logic Server and selected jdk from above path.(since while installing WLS i din't find JROCKIT, so I browsed for JDK from my C:Drive)
    4. While installing SOA 11G, when I give setup -jreLoc C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25  I am getting Error "Java Run Time Environment was not found in C:\Program\bin\javaw.exe"
I have set JAVA_HOME in Environment Variables.
Can some one please help me fix this issue.

Yes. I validated it. I tried with below 2 locations. I have installed this before in Windows and Linux. Strange that I am struggling to do it now..Not sure what I am missing.
    C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\jre
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre7
When I try with Quotes i.e, setup -jreLoc "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\jre"I get a screen with Error:setup.exe has stopped working (below is the log)

  • Migrating Oracle WorkFlow Applications to BPEL SOA 11G

    Hi Gurus,
I am a SOA developer working on SOA 11g projects , My client has a requirement to migrate the existing Oracle WorkFlow Applications to get migrated to 11G , On Googling i got http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/owf2bpel-132189.pdf which was much informative , since i have no knowledge of Oracle WorkFlow Product , i am finding it hard to migrate these applications.
It would be great if some one can post a conversion of OWF to Bpel tutorial or direct me to location where i can find some , which would save a lot of time for me .
    Thanks in Advance
    Vamsi .

    Hi,
While configuring the Oracle Apps Adapter, select the database connection, give the JNDI, then the Oracle Applications Module Browser will appear, make sure you select the correct module here (there will be many like Financials..etc). My suggestion would be, ask the EBS experts as under which module will that API be there ?
If you can get to know under what module it will be there, you need to select that module, and look inside it, it should be there under something like concurrent API's. I have implemented the Oracle Apps adapter many times, so even if you dont find the API, first get to know the container module, then you should be good to go. Also in the step of Module Browser, on the top; you have an option of searching for API's like wild card search etc...
    Hope this helps,
    N
