BPM -- Unable to deliver event 'RECEIVED' of object
Hi XI Experts,
I have completed a scenario depicting 'BpmPatternCollectMessage', where in IP is going to run with a infinite loop and when a Stop message is sent, IP should stop and tranform the messages collected to send it to target.
I have sent start messages and noticed that it is running in a infinite loop. And when I have sent stop message, it is throwing a warning "Unable to deliver event 'RECEIVED' of object" and is not stoping the IP.
FYI -- I have designed IP with a block of necessary branches. Block has two branches, one to receive a collect message in infinite loop and other to receive a stop message.
Please help me in resolving this issue.

Conflict between Client object model and Item Updated Event Receiver in sharepoint 2010
Hello All,
As per my requirement I have a two custom list.
Agent Details
Port Name
Agent Details contains Agent code, Port Name, email, address and phone of Agent. Its possible that one Agent Code is connected with multiple Port Name.
Basically what I am doing is I am getting port name connected with Agent code, using jquery and bind those values with check box(using javascript created dynamically) and bind all with Div tag.
Now when my custom edit form of Agent list open up it shows me different port name binding with checkbox group.
when user select the check box and click confirm button my clicent object model script will run and add this selected value into Port Name list.
After confirm one more button named Save will enable asking user to edit the email, phone or address value and when I click on save my Item updated event fires which update the values of the selected port name(These port name I am getting from port
name list) to Agent Details custom list.
Now when I am trying to update the values my event receiver fires or some times it got stuck(not firing). So could you please help me the possible alternative for this requirements.
Can we user the Ecma Script(Client object model to preserve the value of selectec port) and Item updated event receiver on the same time?
Is anything am doing wrong then please guide me.Hi,
As I understand, when you updated values in the agent details list the Item updated event receiver got stuck sometimes.
The item update event receiver will fire after the item has been saved, and the client object model script or the Ecma Script runs before the item is saved, so there is no conflict between the client object model script and item update event receiver.
You could find out the reason about the item update event receiver gets stuck by debugging the event receiver.
When you want to debug your event receivers, you have to attach to OWSTIMER.EXE and wait till they are executed. You can control this behavior using the Synchronization attribute. Also, if you’re looking for an easy way to debug an event receiver without
having to manually attach a debugger to your code, you can use the System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch() method.

How to generate a report on 'Event Received' events for a resource objects

I want to generate a report on all the recon events which are in 'Event Received' status, on a daily basis. Can you please let me know how to do this and what all tables are involved?
ThanksWell thats pretty simple. Actually there are multiple tables in OIM database responsible for holding reconciliation data but event information is stored in one table RCE. So there are two simple ways to do that as follows:
*1) Using OIM API ::*
There is an API exposed (*findReconciliationEvent()*) in the tcReconciliationOperationsIntf interface. You can just pass a HashMap with one filter parameter for ReconEvent status as Event Received. In addition to it this API also requires the StartDate and EndDate (You can give current date for both arguments). This will return you a ResultSet containing all the events which are in that particular state. Just iterate through the ResultSet for all the event information ad create your report.
*2) Using OIM database query::*
Just write an SQL query to run in the database schema. Let's assume you have written a scheduler for the same. This is the code for your class:

Error when editing form --using an event receiver

I created an event receiver sandbox solution and deployed it to preprod. My code doesn't work and everytime I edit an item it gives me this error. I don't receive an error when I create an item.

By triggering an event, an object or a class announces a change of state, or that a certain state has been achieved.Events link objects or classes more loosely than direct method calls do. Method calls establish precisely when and in which statement sequence the method is called. However, with events, the reaction of the object to the event is determined by the triggering of the event itself.
Events are most often used in GUI implementations.Other external object models, such as COM, ActiveX Controls etc, also provide events.
At the moment of implementation, a class defines its instance events (using the statement EVENTS) and static events (using the statement CLASS-EVENTS)
Classes or their instances that receive a message when an event is triggered at runtime and want to react to this event define event handler methods.
Statement : (CLASS-)METHODS | FOR ALL INSTANCES.
Every object that has defined events has an internal table: the handler table. All objects that have registered for events are entered in this table together with their event handler methods.Objects that have registered themselves for an event that is still live also remain live. The methods of these objects are called when the event is triggered, even if they can no longer be reached using main memory references.
If several objects have registered themselves for an event, then the sequence in which the event handler methods are called is not defined, that is, there is no guaranteed algorithm for the sequence in which the event handler methods are called.

SharePoint 2013 event receiver error
I am currently working on a SharePoint online project. I am facing a strange issue. My code generates 6 documents
in 6 different document libraries along with other metadata. When I save data to a List, the event receiver fires and creates all the 6 documents. But sometimes it stops creating the 6 documents and left with 1 or 2 documents. Sometimes documents has been
created but without any metadata. The same code is working fine in my on-premises environment, but it sometimes breaks in the Office 365 environment. I also created a log list to track the issue as we cannot debug in Office 365. In the log list I found a error
message saying "Thread was being aborted." Below is my code. please help it is happening only in Office 365 environment.

SharePoint online 2013 event receiver error
I am currently working on a SharePoint online project. My code generates 6 documents in 6 different document libraries along with other metadata. When I save data to a List, the event receiver fires and creates all the 6 documents. But sometimes it stops creating
the 6 documents and left with 1 or 2 documents. Sometimes documents has been created but without any metadata.
The same code is working fine in my on-premises environment, but it sometimes breaks in the Office 365 environment. I also created a log list to track the issue as we cannot debug in Office 365. In the log list I found a error message saying "Thread was

Sharepoint 2013 ItemAdded event receiver for renaming files is not working
In SP 2013 I coded an event receiver that intercepts the ItemAdded event and it just renames the file.
It is a synchronous event (I added <Synchronization>Synchronous</Synchronization> in the Elements.xml).

The problem is that when I upload a .txt file using Internet Explorer, just after the renaming is done, IE says that something went wrong and when I inspect the log files I see:

So it is clear that the fact that I renamed the file is causing an issue in the SharePoint upload logic.
As a solution what I did was to not declare it as Synchronous, but if I do it then there is another error when Sharepoint shows the Edit Properties dialog... in this case the upload is OK but when it is time to show that Edit Property dialog IE fails and
says that the file has been already modified, or that "something went wrong".
If I use a synchronous event I get one problem. If I use the asynchronous event I get another problem... It's very frustating and I am pretty sure that a so important API like Event Receivers should have support renaming files so I hope someone can tell
me what I am doing wrong.

Sharepoint 2013, event receiver to rename files not working
I coded an event receiver (ItemAdding) that renames for example a .txt file to a .text file (it does not matter the extensions, it is just an example). In my code what I do is to an SPFile.MoveTo operation. It works fine in SP2010 but when I execute
the same code in SP 2013, when the operation is done using IE I get the text "Sorry, something went wrong" and then "File Not Found".
In the logs this is what I see:

It's clear that the Sharepoint upload code tries to do things with the original name and it does not realize that it was renamed.

Can't start a 2013 Workflow in an Event Receiver
I am trying to run a SP2013 workflow from an Event Receiver but I get the error "The request was aborted: The request was canceled. Client ActivityId: aec2fc1b-3f33-44d8-85ab-c6c976617b8c" at the point I actually attempt to start the Workflow.
The scenario is as follows. I have 2 lists: List A and List B. Users have permissions to create items in List A but not List B. When users create a new item in List A, a SP2013 workflow runs which then creates a new item in List B. List B should then
run another SP2103 Workflow but because of how SP and workflows work, this second workflow on List B doesn't automatically run. Thus I have created an Item Added Event Receiver on List B that will run the required workflow automatically (at least it should
if it worked!)
I'm sure the problem must be something to do with permissions but nothing I try seems to solve it:
I can't just use the account of the user triggering the event as this user will be the person adding items to List A and they don't have permissions to do anything in List B (thus they cannot see items in list B or start workflows)
I can't run using RunWithElevatedPrivileges as a) I don't think this works well with Event Receivers and b) SP2103 workflows cannot be run using the admin account.
I have tried impersonation with an account specifically set up for running workflows (named mydomain\wssworkflow). This account has full control of the entire site, lists etc. but it still gives the error mentioned above. My code is shown below - the error
occurs on the line:

Any help in working out why this isn't working would be appreciated.

Attaching remote event receiver to a list on host web.
We have an O365 Sharepoint 2013 site. I am trying to create a remote event receiver and attach it to a list on host web instead of appweb. Below are the links that I am referencing to do it:

They are using 'AppInstalled' event to accomplish this. The method is as follows: get the client context of the host web, get our target list in the host web, get the service url of the remote event receiver using code below:

Call Custom Service from Event Receiver as Current User

i bang my head on this problem for days now:
My custom web service hosted in Sharepoint 2013 needs to know the logged on user name. I used to have a self-written impersonation in my service client before, but with switching to claims authentication this should be obsolete.
So within my service i decode the user from

All research pointed out that "CreateChannelActingAsLoggedOnUser" would pass the current user (which is correctly identified within the event receiver!) to the service, but it doesn't work for my event receiver...

JoachimYou should be able to get the current user id from the SPListItemEventProperties object. From here you should be able to create a Claim. For example get the user by using

How to get the original query string in an event receiver when dialogs are enabled
I have scenario where I am adding a document to a document library which has an external data column on it. My goal for this column is to have it automatically populated with an appropriate value based on original query string to the page. The general
idea is that I am on a custom page that has various webparts on it including a view of my document library that is context sensative based on the query string, and I want to use that context sensitivity not just to filter the list but also when adding documents.
I have been searching around for solutions to this problem all day and have gotten this far:
I have an event receiver attached to my document library that handles the ItemAdded event syncronously (as such I have the new list item available to me). In that event receiver I am able to set the column values as required. Where I am stuck is on getting
the value from the query string that I need to actually set as the column value.
Based on:

code in my event receiver:

The reason I'm looking for "Source" in the query string is because that is something I found to be reliable when the Dialogs are turned off. I've dug around pretty deep in the Request object to see if anything had the data I was looking for and unfortunately
it doesn't appear to be there. The
context.Request.QUeryString.ToString()
returns a rather simple one of:
List=%7b43ECDCB0-8440-4652-B067-AA20481779D7%7d&RootFolder=&IsDlg=1
and the
context.Request.UrlReferrer.Query.ToString()
has the same value.
I suspect this is due to the dual step process that takes place in adding an item to a document library where the first modal popup (which I suspect likely has the information I need) gives you the opportunity to browse to your file and then the second
dialog (maybe this is getting brought up as a result of another request which is now referring back to the original request that brought up the first dialog?) where you edit your properties.

Event Bubbling Custom Object not inheriting from control
One of the new things flash flex and xaml have are ways which
the event easily bubbles up to a parent that knows how to handle
the event. Similar to exceptions travel up until someone catches
it.
My goal is to use the frameworks event system on custom
objects. My custom objects are:
ApplicationConfiguration
through composition contains:
SecurityCollection which contains many or no SecurityElements
and
FileSystemCollection.cs which contains many or no
FileSystemElement objects
ect ect basically defining the following xml file with custom
objects.

basically these custom objects abstract the xml details of
accessing attributes, writing content out of the higher application
layers.
These custom objects hold the application configuration which
contains the users options. The gui application uses these
parameters across various windows forms, modal dialog boxes ect.
The gui has a modal dialog that allows the user to modify these
parameters during runtime.
basically i manage: load, store, new, edit, delete of these
configuration files using my custom objects.
Where would event propagation help in custom objects like
described above?

The EthernetElement should propagate a changed event up to
the parent ApplicationConfiguration which would persist this to the
registry, db, file or whatever backend.
currently this logic is maintained else where. I serialize
the root node which compositely serializing the nested nodes and i
check of the serialization is different from that in the backend
… This tells me if the dom was modified. It works but i would
like an event driven system.
how should i implement bubbling using custom objects?
