BPMAuthorizationService Object always throws up null

Hi All,
I'm trying to retrieve BPMUser using oracle worklist api. Here's a piece of my code:
try {
IWorkflowServiceClient wfSvcClient = WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(WorkflowServiceClientFactory.SOAP_CLIENT);
IWorkflowContext wfCtx = wfSvcClient.getTaskQueryService().authenticate("bpeladmin", "welcome1", "jazn.com",null);
BPMAuthorizationService bpmAuthSvc = wfSvcClient.getAuthorizationService(wfCtx.getIdentityContext());
BPMUser bpmUser = bpmAuthSvc.lookupUser("bpeladmin");
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
The jars/directories i have included in my project are:
bpm-infra.jar
bpm-services.jar
j2ee_1.3.01.jar
jazncore.jar
oc4jclient.jar
orabpel.jar
orabpel-common.jar
orabpel-thirdparty.jar
orasaaj.jar
soap.jar
wsclient_extended.jar
xml.jar
xmlparserv2.jar
config
schema
My problem is BPMAuthorizationService object is always null. On the other hand i have no problems retrieving tasks, updating payload or approving tasks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

No offense taken. It does look a little rough.. but for what I'm doing and how I'm doing it I don't think it is going to get much cleaner.
Thanks for the reply, but I had two problems... one I wasn't thinking hashmap and was just looking at each entry.. never checked the next value for each entry...
The other problem that was causing my jsp further down the line to crash when it tried to load the so I thought nonexistent form PTEN was a naming problem.
I was putting the correct object into session and then naming it PTEN... later on I was pulling it from session looking for the name PTENForm. So when I corrected the "Form" it works correctly.

    Is there a reason why this is and how do I get by it.
    ii. Can I just add the field directly within the MDS>file/user.xml? Would there be an issue with changing an existing attribute metadata using the user.xml?

    Pradeep thank you for your response. it was helpful. However, I also found the responses to both my questions.
    i. The null pointer exception was due to using a complex query I was using in the LOV query. I tried a simple query and that worked fine.
    ii. For modifying the user defined attributes one can consult the following forum post:

  • Field.get(Object obj) now returning null with Generics (Java 5.0) ??

    Hello,
    I'm currently using Java 5.0 (especially for the Generics part) on a new Java/J2EE project, but having a strange issue with code working previously in a Java 1.4 project.
    Below is an overriding of the toString() method provided by the Object class which allow me to view nicely in debug (dev. mode) the contents of my Transfer Objects (all the TO's must extend this ATO abstract class).
    Previously this code displayed me something like:
    [field1 => value1, field2 => value2] ... for a TO (sort of "Javabean") having e.g. two String fields with values initialized to "value1" (resp. "value2").
    But unfortunately, this does (or seems) not to work anymore, having such display :
    [field1 => null, field2 => null]I tried to debug, and the problem is that the call fieldValue = field.get(this); returns null while it should returns the actual value of the field.
    I thing it it strongly related to Generics, but could not at the moment found how/why it does not work.
    May someone help...? Thanks.
    public abstract class ATO {
        // Reflection for field value display
        public String toString() {
            StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer("[");
            MessageFormat mf = new MessageFormat("{0} => {1}, ");
            Field[] fields = this.getClass().getDeclaredFields();
            for (int i = 0; i < fields.length; i++) {
                Field field = (Field) fields;
    String fieldName = field.getName();
    Object fieldValue = null;
    try {
    fieldValue = field.get(this);
    } catch (IllegalArgumentException e) {
    } catch (IllegalAccessException e) {
    mf.format(new Object[] { fieldName, fieldValue }, sb, null);
    if (sb.length() > 1) {
    sb.setLength(sb.length() - 2);
    sb.append("]");
    return sb.toString();

    This cast is unnecessary.
    Effectively, I haven't noticed it yet. Fixed.
    } catch (IllegalArgumentException e) {
    } catch (IllegalAccessException e) {
    }Either the field value really is null or you are getting one of these exceptions which you are ignoring. Never write empty catch blocks.That's true, I missed something. Fixed with some code to log the eventual exceptions.
    Thanks for you answer.

  • ARE ORACLE OBJECTS ALWAYS  STORED IN UPPERCASE

    Are the oracle objects always stored in Capital letters?
    Say ,for example If I create a table as 'Table A' , It gets stored in the USER_TAB_VIEWS as TABLE A !! Is there a way to get it back as 'Table A'

    ..Is there any way to do it..Yes, as I indicated, use double quotes.
    I am modifying an application that worked on SQL Server and hence forced to
    use mixed caseI'm not sure that follows. Unless of course the app has database objects whose only difference is the use of CamelCase, e.g. tables called TableA and Tablea and (why not?) tableA. If the names are unique in a case insensitive mode then I think you are better off using Oracle's default naming convention.
    But you know what you are doing, and if you think that using ...
    SELECT * FROM "CamelCase"
    SELECT * FROM user_tables
    WHERE table_name = 'CamelCase'
    /... is a lesser world of pain than ...
    SELECT * FROM camelcase
    SELECT * FROM user_tables
    WHERE table_name = 'CAMELCASE'
    /... then do go ahead.
    Cheers, APC

  • Web objects always on top.

    Videos from Vimeo brought into Captivate in a web object always displays on top of everything else. Does anyone know how to get around this problem (if you've got an info box, for example, that needs to display in front of everything else)? Thanks

    My company is currently looking at purchasing a number of licenses for captivate and that was one of the 6 or 7 questions I asked, the above was their reply. It worked perfectly for me, after you change that file you can move the layer the web object is on and put text or anything else you need to on top of it.
    @csdsc29085362 - I have only tried this for a responsive projects sorry : /

    I found a topic for this trouble (http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=11&threadID=495321) but it doesn't help me.
    I think there is a problem in my network configuration. Can you help me?

    Just a guess, but try setting "Suffixe DNS propre la connexion"
    On my machine, I bring up the window Local Area Connection Status, then click on Properties, that brings up the Local Area Connection Properties window. Then I click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the list, then click the Properties button. That brings up the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window; in there click Advanced button. That brings up the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window. In it click on the DNS tab. Down near the bottom is a box labeled "DNS suffix for this connection" and in it I have the suffix for my domain (berkeley.edu). I've never understood what the two boxes below are for/what they do.
    This is just a stab in the dark; I have no idea if it will help.

  • ADF: use of view link Accessor in Entity Object = always null?

    Hi,
    JClient 9.0.5.2, adf model.
    I would like to use the view link accessor method in the master EO to retrieve detail EO values and the view link accessor method in the detail EO to retrieve master EO values.
    Detail Rule:
    In the detail EO an attribute is derived from an attribute of the master EO: detail attribute = master attribute.
    Master Rule:
    In the master EO an attribute is derived from the detail EO: master atribute set to 0 if detail EO exist else set to 0.
    Tables:
    Table Master => MasterEO => MasterVO
    - masterPK (not updateable)
    - masterField (not updateable)
    - hasDetailsFlag
    Table Detail => DetailEO => DetailVO
    - detailPK (not updateable)
    - masterPK => foreign key (not updateable)
    - masterField (query only)
    MasterDetailLink based on foreign key.
    In link wizard I asked for the generation of following accessors in the source & destination Entity Objects:
    In DetailEO accessor name: RetrieveFromMaster
    In MasterEO accessor name: RetrieveFromDetail
    In the DetailEO, I asked for the generation of the DetailEOImpl file, accessors and create method.
    As wriiten in the file, before the create method:
    ** Add attribute defaulting logic in this method. **
    I tought this is the place to retrieve the master attribute:
    The code:
    MasterVORowImpl masterVO = getRetrieveFromMaster();
    if (masterVO == null)
    System.out.println("MasterVORowImpl masterVO create NNNNNNNNNNNUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLL");
    The masterVO is always null?
    I suppose I didn't understand something, my guest is that ViewObjects may not be used for default logic?
    I know how to implement those rules in the database with triggers.
    I think that the data I need for implementing those rules exist somewhere at the ADF level so retrieving the data from the db is not necessary?
    Could somebody give some clues?
    I didn't find a similar example in the Business Rules in BC4J document.
    Your help will be appreciated
    Frederic

    Hi,
    Detail Rule, copy attribute value form master.
    In DetailEOImpl:
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList)
    setAttribute(MASTERFIELD,this.getMaster().getMasterField());
    super.create(attributeList);
    Master rule, set flag to 0 if no details else set to 1.
    In the MasterEOImpl added method to check if detail row exists based on Row Iterator => no db retrieval?
    This method also sets the flag accordingly:
    protected void checkHasOtherDetails()
    oracle.jbo.RowIterator ri = this.getRetrieveFromdetail();
    ri.last();
    // last() must be called else hasNext() returns true even on last delete ???
    Number hasDetails = Constants.NUMBER_NO; // = 1
    if (ri.hasNext() || ri.hasPrevious())
    hasDetails = Constants.NUMBER_YES; // = 0
    if (!getHasDetailsFlag().equals(hasDetails)) {
    this.setHasDetailsFlag(hasDetails);
    I call this method in the remove method of the detailEOImpl:
    public void remove()
    this.getRetrieeFromMaster().checkHasOtherDetails();
    super.remove();
    To set the flag I added follwoing code in the create method of the DetailEOImpl:
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList)
    setAttribute(MASTERFIELD,this.getMaster().getMasterField());
    **** ADDED ***
    Number masterHasDetailsFlag = getRetrieveFromMaster().getHasDetailsFlag();
    if (!masterHasDetailsFlag.equals(Constants.NUMBER_YES)) {
    getRetrieveFromMaster().setHasDetailsFlag(Constants.NUMBER_YES));
    super.create(attributeList);
    One more question:
    Is there a danger of calling last() on row iterators in create/update/remove methods of *Impl files?
    => current row changed => any effect on display in JPanel
    Thanks
    Frederic

  • Is the Remote Object always a singleton?

    Hi,
    Using .Net Remoting we can export a Remote Objects in three different ways:
    1. Singleton: Same instance of a Server-side object is used by all the clients for all the requests.
    2. SingleCall: Whenever a new call is received, a new instance of the Server-side object is created and reference is passed to the client. Therefore, for each call to the server, the client gets a new instance of the object.
    3. Client Activation: In this, the Client requests to the server for creating a new instance which can be used for multiple calls. The instance activated by a client is not used by other clients. Client-Activated objects can store state information between method calls for its specific client.
    Do we have this options in RMI or the Remote Object must always be a Singleton?
    What I'm looking for is a way to create one instance of the Remote Object (in the server side) to each client that connects to a server.
    thx

    Do we have this options in RMI1 and 3 are available. 2 is not.
    or the Remote Object must always be a Singleton?No.
    What I'm looking for is a way to create one instance of the Remote Object (in the server side) to each client that connects to a server.It's as simple as 'return new MyRemoteObject(...);'.
    For example:
    public interface Login extends Remote
      public Session login(String username, ...) throws RemoteException;
    public interface Session extends Remote
      // your client API here
    public class LoginImpl extends UnicastRemoteObject implements Login
      public Session login(String username, ...) throws RemoteException
        // validate username etc. If OK return a session.
        return new SessionImpl();
    public class SessionImpl extends UnicastRemoteObject implements Session
      // your client API implementation here, also all the server-side state belonging to that client session
    }Note that this is as secure as the login() method. By type safety, nobody can execute Session methods until they have logged in.
    I'm deleting your two other threads.

  • OSB to Object Types: difference between NULL value and not available

    Hello all,
    I have a question about Object Types. More specifically, how to differentiate between an empty value (null) and a string not available.
    This is my case:
    I have created an object type with three parameters.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE OSB_EMP_OBJ_TYPE AS OBJECT
    (EMP_ID NUMBER
    ,DEPT_ID NUMBER
    ,ORDER_ID NUMBER
    ,CONSTRUCTOR FUNCTION OSB_EMP_OBJ_TYPE
    RETURN self as result
    /I would like to see what happens when I put an empty string into emp_id, NULL into DEPT_ID and nothing into ORDER_ID.
    To do so I have this test script:
    declare
      p_emp OSB_EMP_OBJ_TYPE := OSB_EMP_OBJ_TYPE();
    begin
      p_emp.EMP_ID := '';
      p_emp.DEPT_ID := null;
    --  p_emp.ORDER_ID := null;
      if p_emp.EMP_ID is null
      then
        dbms_output.put_line('Empty');
      end if;
      if p_emp.DEPT_ID is null
      then
        dbms_output.put_line('NULL');
      end if;
      if p_emp.ORDER_ID is null
      then
        dbms_output.put_line('Not available');
      end if;
    end;The result of this is:
    Empty
    NULL
    Not availableIt seems that Oracle treats all three situations alike. What I would like to achieve is a way to see that p_emp.ORDER_ID was not initialized.
    To elaborate a bit: in our production system this procedure would be called from OSB and the object type would by the input for that procedure. Our database version is 10.2.0.5.0.
    Our procedures look something like this:
    procedure p_procedure ( p_emp in osb_emp_obj_type )
    is
    begin
      do_something;
    end;Can anyone tell me if there is a way to achieve this, so I can see whether or not a value in the object type was filled?
    Thanks in advance!

    Darn...
    Eventually we want to use this for an update procedure. The client gets all current data from the database by calling a webservice that (using OSB) selects the data from our database. What we want to achieve is that the client can update that data, by returning only the changed fields to an update procedure.
    We then handle an empty tag to update the field to null, and we ignore missing tags.
    OSB itself can handle this, but PL/SQL can't.
    I'm now thinking of adding an indicator to each optional field (clear_field_yn). OSB can still check for empty tags or missing tags. When a tag is empty, it's corresponding indicator will be set to 'Y'. If the tag is missing, then it will be set to 'N'.
    Is that a solution to consider, or is there a much simpler approach possible?

  • URLStream.readBytes always throw out of memory exception (errorID=1000)

    When I try to load a file as 180MBytes by using URLStream.readBytes().
    In some PCs, it's OK.
    But in some PCs, there are always [out of memory] exception (errorID=1000) even such PC still had enough memory.
    For example:
       Total memory is 2G, current used is 1.43G, but URLStream.readBytes() still throw such exception.
    For file with little size such as 30M, there isn't such problem.
    Could any body give some suggestion?
    Best regards,
    Sourcecode is very simple like:
      var myStream:URLStream;
      var inputBytes: ByteArray = new ByteArray();
      ... do load ...
      // load by progressive event. I only deal progress load once, and ignore all later progressive load events.
      // for example first 500KBytes was read.
      myStream(inputBytes,inputBytes.length);
      // load again when all datas is loaded completely. For example, 180MBytes should be read.
      try {
        myStream(inputBytes,inputBytes.length);
      }  catch(e:*) {

  • CustomLoginModule always error "Invalid null input: name"

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to create a custom LoginModule. I've changed the autorization.xml, created a new login-stack and set the  LoginModuleClassLoaders property.
    But whatever I do I always get the message
    "Unknown message (ID = Invalid null input: name)" when trying to login using the login screen.
    Does anyone know this message and the solution?
    Regards,
    Jeschael

    Hi Jeschael,
    Did you get a solution for this? I'm also running into same problem.
    Please let me know.

  • When debugging package, local variables always listed as 'null'

    When I'm debugging a package procedure, if I try to inspect any local variables by hovering the mouse cursor over them, the floating text that appears always says they're set to null - even though I know (because the procedure works as expected) that there must be a value there. Also, local variables don't appear in the 'Data' debug tab; and if I drag the local variables into the 'Watch' tab, their value is listed as null.
    Using v1.1.2.25 against a 9.2.0.6 db - anyone have any ideas..?
    Cheers,
    James

    Local variables should be used whenever you need a value only in a single method and don't need to remember it's value between two invocations of that method.
    A perfect example would be the counter in a for-loop.

  • Getting response object field value as null when importing xsd file in wsdl

    I have created a java webservice using X-Fire 1.2.6 framework and deployed on Tomcat 6.0 server. The response of the service is a java object named LoginDetail.
    Inorder to reuse the basic elements and types we have defined them in a separate Types.xsd file which have been imported in the WSDl file using xsd:import by giving the path to the xsd file.
    Below you can see the portion of the wsdl file
         <wsdl:types>
              <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
                   attributeFormDefault="qualified" elementFormDefault="qualified"
                   targetNamespace="http://webservices.gtl.de/xsd">
                   <xsd:import namespace="http://webservices.gtl.de/xsd"
                        schemaLocation="file:///D:/wsdl/LoginTypes.xsd"></xsd:import>
              </xsd:schema>
         </wsdl:types>
    After deploying the application on Tomcat I could access the WSDL using a web browser and after that I could successfully generate webservice client code using using XFire wsgen ant build.
    But when tried to call the service the fields of the response object(in my case it is LoginDetail object) returns null.
    Follwing are the main class used for running the client and the output received as webservice respone.
    Main class
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    CCLoginNewClient client = new CCLoginNewClient();
    CCLoginNewPortType service     = client.getCCLoginNewHttpPort();
    LoginDetail loginDetail = service.getLogin("CCLoginNew", "DE", "DE", "100", "0", "CC", "15","9344");
    System.out.println("service got in response : "+loginDetail.getService());
    Output
    service got in response : null
    is this the right way to import an xsd file in a wsdl file?
    Any input would be appreciated!
    Thanks in advance

    is this the right way to import an xsd file in a wsdl file?Make sure that you really need import, not the include. However, I guess it has nothing do with the actual issue. It just to make sure that you are using right option.
