BPMN Composite application instance issue
I have been having trouble accessing a deployed BPM application from the business process workspace. When i click on the application i get the following error:
Cannot create instance in process 'EI_DEMO/SchemeApplication!1.0*soa_f269dfc1-85c5-4124-b155-330f9ed54d87/SchemeApplication'.
The fault in Enterprise Manager is as follows:

On the Upper left of the Applications Area, I can see the link as [QuoteProcessLab] RequestQuoteLab v1.0
when clicked on the just completed application I get the following error popped up as
Cannot create instance in process
'default/QuoteProcessLab!1.1*soa_80....b/RequestQuoteLab'.
Please correct me where I am wrong. How the Instance Process is created after successful deployment of application.
Please Advice ASAP as I need to get this resolved by today evening.

How SOA composite Application Instance ID gets generated

While I was working with one of my minor SOA project, I noticed one thing that the SOA composite application instance IDs are not generated in a particular sequence. The numbers specified as Instance ID are random. Sometimes there is a difference of hundreds, sometimes of thousands and other times of difference reaches in lakhs. I am unable to understand the Procedure how these Instance IDs get generated when we deploy our project.

Parul NagpalInstance Id's (CIKEY) are generated from ID_RANGE table, every call to this table returns a different range of sequences. Instance Ids will not collide across different Managed servers. Instance ID gets refreshed with each server restarts and is not equal across nodes or after restart.

ALBPM application Instance Issues
Experiencing issue with albpm server running two albpm instances. The issue happens when you bounce one of the weblogic servers and you continue to have the other running normally. We bounce the server because the wl instance was not responding with the following exceptions:

Populating the request attributes in Application Instance forms of OIM11gR2
Hi,
We have configured request based provisioning for the 3 target applications. As a process
1) Manager is log in to OIM Identity console and selects the one user and provision the application Instance after selecting the required roles in the Application instance forms of Catologue page.
2)With in the same login session, if manager selects another user and tried to provision the same application instance,details of first user is displaying in the application Instance forms.
Actually differrent data need to populate in the application instance forms for each user.
Please let us know the the solution for this issue.

Whats your exact version of OIM and BP? It can be issue with particular version.
Also, it looks like your request form pre-pop may not be working properly. Can you put some sysout and try to check in your logs about what value is getting printed when you are selecting another user?
We have used this scenario in OIM 11.1.2.0 + BP7 and it was working.

Error while deploying the Composite Application ERROR: (SOAPBC_START_1)
Hi,
I have a EJB web service created and deployed in GlassFish. I have created a BPEL which will recieve from the web service and then insert into a SQL table. To track the messages I have also created to File WSDLs to save the WS message and the DB message.
While deploying the Composite application I am recieving this error. "Component: sun-http-binding
ERROR: (SOAPBC_START_1) HTTPBC-E00205: Start failed. java.lang.Exception: LifecycleException: PWC3985: Protocol handler initialization failed: java.net.BindException: Already bound: 8080
Can anyone tell me what this is error is all about ??

Error when trying to create a Composite Application Services project
Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem while trying to create a project using NWDS 7.0 SP 13
New Development Component Project-> Composite Application Services
then pressing finish, it throws an error as follows
"Generation can not completed due to one or more error"
Reason :
Errors occurred during code generation
Warning :
EAR-META-INF generation failed : null
Plz help me to solve this

It looks like there might be issue with CAF services related plugins. Check if there are any errors in log file under metadata folder of your workspace.Try deleting the metadata folder & restart the NWDS or start in a new workspace.
I feel if the issue persists, it is a bug & you can raise an OSS ticket.

How to use external libraries jar files in the composite application?

I have some external jars files (which consists of java classes) that I would like to use in my composite application.
I have created a DC with type as external library for the jars. However, I don't know how to specify the DC to be used in my caf application.

My jar files consists only java classes and a manifest.mf. The files are compiled using jdk 1.4.2-b28. Will this be any issue?
It seems that if I ignore the error and continue step 7 which is to do deployment of the ear, the error given is
Cannot update it.
Caused by: com.sap.engine.library.bytecode.cf.CFException: Invalid constant pool tag, 60 at index 41.
Does anyone know what that mean?
Is there any sample that teach how to deploy external libraries as bundled library?

Problem when Creating Project (Composite Application Services) in NWDS
I've seen a few posts regarding this but I don't feel as if any real solution was given.
I just installed Netweaver Developer Studio (7.0.15) with the current JDK/JRE (1.6.0_07). When trying to create a new Composite Application Services project within the Studio, using the new project wizard, I get an error: Problem when Creating Project.
I get the EJB Module and Dictionary to create within my navigator with no problems, however, during the creation of the metadata, the error occurs. I do have the metadata folder appear within the navigator, but nothing in it. None of the other three items are created.
I have tried the attempt at deleting the metadata folder within my workspace directory and trying again but the same exact result occurs.
Is there any other solution out there for this problem besides attempting to find older versions of NWDS, etc. that are more "stable"?

Very simple but effective solution.
I had tried uninstalling / re-installing NWDS with no effect but uninstalling / re-installing NWDS AND all java related products on my machine did work.
Note: For anyone else with this issue in the future. I installed the Java SDK / JRE 1.4.2_18 with NWDS 7.0.15 in case this is also a possible issue with versions.

In our scenario we have Disconnected applications in OIM. AI (Application Instance) form and PD editing is created by OIM.
We want to add additional field in AI form.It is visible in back end. But,its not visible in OIM admin console for admin and as well for end user.
Is there any property related to form field in AI ,where we need to make changes to make it visible ?

Need to monitor soa-infra composite application
In our Prod environment, we had an issue with our database and after resolving the issue, I just happened to go into the FMW console and noticed that the soa-infra composite application was in a "Failed" status even though the soa_server1 managed server was still "running."
When I re-started the managed server, the deployed apps all came back successful.
I'm very familiar with using the FMW console and know how to monitor composite applications using the UI.
However, as I was not actively looking at the FMW Console, this brings up the issue...
1. What is the best practice to setting up monitoring of the soa-infra composite application in my domain?
2. If this can be done using WLST... does anyone have a sample of doing this?
3. If the answer is to use snmp... does anyone have a sample?
I am new to using WLST and looking for some assistance.
My environment is SOA Suite 11g PS2 (11.1.1.3) at the moment.

I am looking for ways to send an alert or Email notification when the soa-infra application changes to "Failed" state. I've found where I can setup watches and notifications from within the WLS console when a certain MSG ID appears in the log, it can trigger an Email notification be sent and I am pursuing that approach at the moment unless you have a better idea?

Cant deploy composite application on soa server environment
hi,
Both managed server and admin server in running statusl thati could see in weblogic console by selecting servers. But while deploying my composite application i could not find soa server option there. i could sucessfuly established the connection with application server with JDevloper,

i have tried many times started the soa server as you mentioned , but this time i can view the soa_server1 in unknown status in summary of servers page in weblogic console and then soa server disconnected from the admin server.

I think you have not installed required features from updite site(Local download directory) propperly after installation of your IDE.
In that case you have update your IDE through Software installation update option of Help menu.
The procedure will be mentioned in the start page of Software setup file(SAPNWCE71Trial_DevStudioSAPNWCE71Trial_DevStudio).
