Macbook White keyboard issue (potential software problem, please help!)
Hi there! Before I go into detail I have a Late 2008 Macbook White (Upgraded to 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD) so I would have had it two years this Christmas (2010)
Over the last few months, on odd occasions the bottom row of keys completely stop working (by bottom row of keys I mean: Z X C V B N M ? and then fn ctrl alt and CMD on the row below. The space bar and right CMD work perfectly as does every other key on the keyboard.
Now this is where it gets really weird. I always thought this was a hardware issue (Loose ribbon connection etc, I just don't have the hours in the day to sit down and take it apart) until my friend gave me his old aluminium apple wireless bluetooth keyboard (the laptop sized one). The bottom row of my keyboard broke again whilst visiting him so we set up this aluminium keyboard of mine.
After it connected I started typing on it and realised that the bottom row on the wireless keyboard wasn't working, however when I typed using the laptop keyboard it worked absolutely perfectly. Really nice and responsive (I'm even typing using it now with the Bluetooth keyboard connected!!)
So basically, without the wireless keyboard connected the bottom row doesn't work on my laptop. However when I connect the wireless keyboard the problem comes off the internal keyboard and onto the wireless one. This has ultimately led me to believe that it's a software fault and not a hardware fault as first thought. We tried the same wireless keyboard on my friends mac and there were no issues what so ever.
If anyone out there has absolutely any idea what the heck is going on then please reply to this and shed some light on my situation!

I have a 2008 Macbook and have the same problem. Have found two other people with the 2008 white Macbook with similar problem of bottom row of keys (only) not typing. Obviously an Apple glitch. Any suggestions how to fix without substituting other keys or attaching another external keyboard (Alternate Microsoft keyboard works fine with keyboard to USB port). My old setup was a late 2007 Macbook Pro 15" 10.6.3 connected to the same monitor I have now via Dual-Link DVI and it was crystal clear... It's hard to believe that the issue lies with Samsung, I've tried the same setup on my Sony Bravia in the living room, being that it's a much larger tv...I can't notice the artifacts as much but they are still present. Something is off.
My only other option I feel is to try a Mini Displayport to Dual-Link DVI but I chose the HDMI route for it's standardization and when I go to meetings/projections it's convenient to have one cable. Yes, I've checked cables, restarted everything ect... Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Serious issues with software updates - please help!
A few weeks ago, I installed the 10.6.3 update (standard, not combo), and after everything was said and done, I was left with an incredibly unstable system - virtually all non-Apple software would crash on launch. I repaired my permissions, repaired the hard drive (which was fine, just a precaution), zapped the PRAM, etc. Eventually I managed to download the 10.6.3 Combo Update, applied that over my previous busto patch, rebooted, and everything worked just fine.
Until yesterday.
Last night, I installed Security Update 2010-003 - and all of those problems came back. By the time I rebooted to go into "Safe Mode," I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 220 application crashes - the only apps I found that didn't crash were Safari and Disk Utility (and Finder, Dock, and things of that nature). Repaired permissions, rebooted, and...
Kernel panic. Safe Mode yielded a different kernel panic. Anything I did other than booting from a CD caused a kernel panic. So, I restored from my last Time Machine backup, and now everything is just fine.
So - I've now had two absolutely catastrophic software updates in a row. I'm not even sure what this suggests, as my machine was completely stable and working like a dream before each of these updates - and is back in the same condition now. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should be looking to see what is wrong, or tools I could run to figure out why my computer turns into a very angry paperweight after applying patches now?Hi C&A,
I know it may sound a lil freaky but i've done some research on this matter. It's basically a technical error in Apple's Software Updater, the connection between the internet & software disconnect or timeouts due to lack of high internet activity which is the main reason why the speed starts to decline while downloading the iTunes.
Solution. This would only work well if you've got a broadband, otherwise this can take alot of time.
*Start downloading iTunes from the updater, within 2 mins... log in to your Facebook, email, keep clicking on pages every 20-30 seconds, as this will keep the connection stable, keep doing this till the iTunes downloads completely. -

Have you tried repairing permissions on your startup disk using Disk Utility?

Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

As to your issue, Apple does not and never has made a wristwatch as such. The only thing close to a watch that they have made was the 6th-generation iPod nano:

So i have a X-Fi Fatalty Platnum Champion Ed. and a computer with Windows 7.
I've searched the web and i found many people saying that the card it's working and perfectly compatible so i would like to exclude this option as far as the problems that i'm having.
So, right out of the box i've placed the front panel in with the ribbon cable and the power connected to it, then i connected the other end of the ribbon cable and finally placed the card in one of the PCI slots i have free.
Now, when i start my PC, i don't hear any particolar "beep messages" but nothing will come on the screen, in few words my PC will not boot at all. I can hear the HDD spinning, everything sounds normal except for that "little" problem.
So, i re-did all the connections thinking that maybe i did something wrong, but following the instruction i did exactly as told. So i tried again to power up the computer and i've noticed that the X-Fi logo is lit up (red light) and.. I don't really know if that means something or it's just something aside that doesn't really matter.. But, what is it's The PCI card is broken or there's something else?
I did try to disable the sound card (integrated mobo sound) from the BIOS but that didn't change anything. I did try all the software options but this looks like more of an hardware problem (please correct me if i'm wrong and/or i've missed something).
There's something that popped up in my mind.. the PSU. I noticed that i have a 300W PSU (mm.. low, isn't it's)?and i was wondering if that's enough or i need a more powerful one.. and if that's may be the case for the PCI to not work at all causing all i've already explained above. I mean.. It seems like i've installed a dead peripheral and that's impeding the computer to start up..
I don't know.. I need clarification and help, PLEASE.

All the boot type issues are with the SSD but if you getting in game crashes etc... under windows 8 that is simply that the driver stinks. -

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

Physical joins problem- Please Help

I have two Fact Tables i.e. PRODUCT_FACT and CLAIM_FACT. They don't have direct joins but they are joined through dimensions. such as CALENDAR, GEOGRAPHY and ORGANIZATION.
Here's how it looks
PRODUCT_FACT----CALENDAR----CLAIM_FACT.
PRODUCT_FACT----GEOGRAPHY---CLAIM_FACT.
PRODUCT_FACT----ORGANIZATION----CLAIM_FACT.
When I take any column from PRODUCT_FACT and CALENDAR, the result comes accurately. but when I add a column from CLAIM_FACT to the same query, it shows no results even if the related data is present in the tables..
Is there something I am missing.....If Any body has faced same kind of issue with conformed dimensions, Please help me....

What the error means is that there are no compatible fact table logical table sources at the same level as specified in the dimension, ususally because we havent specified the level at all in the LTS as opposed to a modelling problem.
Its good practice to set all levels for fact tables by the conformed dimensions, and certainly all levels in Dimensions. For at least two reasons - Give BI Server every possible chance of creating most efficient SQL, Allow another developer to very quickly ascertain what they are dealing with rather than having to "explore" the data / Foreign keys etc. -
The "From" column in my Yahoo! e-mail account is blank. I trouble-shot it with them to no avail and they determined it was probably an issue with Firefox. Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.
