br tag in bean value not interpreted correctly

Hi all
i want to display a long string which includes <br> tags. This string is saved in a bean. In my JSP page i try to diplay the string as follows:
<bean:write name="logFileText"/>
This works but the <br> tags are not rendered/interpreted correctly. The display String look like that:
21/09/2004 10:01:44 [INFORMATION] [init/process] 0001 Starting ... (at line 124 in file ndl_main.cxx)<br>21/09/2004 10:01:44 [INFORMATION] [init/undefined] 0010 Start Initialization (at line 109 in file ndl_dataloader.cxx)<br>21/09/2004
If i take a look at the page source the <br> is written there as lt;br gt . But i want to go to a new line instead of displaying the <br> tag.
Could somebody help me with that?
Thanks Angela

seems it doesn't work like that:
[ServletException in:/pages/log/listLogFile.jsp] /pages/log/listLogFile.jsp(13,4) Attribute escapeXml invalid for tag write according to TLD'

    A little correction to your post:
    The width and height properties only fail on images, to all other attributes the CSS values for width and height will just work.
    This bug or "missing feature" has been added in the latest open-source version of the rendering engine. (For download available via: http://nightly.webkit.org/ ). Also OmniWeb 5.5b will support this feature and it will most likely be standard supported in Leopard.

  • Sales Document Flow - Ref. Value not showing correct currency

    I have a question about document flow currency in ECC6.0.  We recented upgraded to ECC6.0 from 4.7 and noticed the changes to document flow.  We are a US based company with sales offices in Europe.  Our European offices are finding that that document flow in ECC6.0 shows in base currency of USD.  Even thought the sales order was entered in EUR euros.  Is this intended to be this way; since it is causing our offices in Europe some confusion?  I searched forums an SAP notes and did not find any references.  Has anyone see this in ECC6.0
    Example Document Flow: Line Level (I do not see Ref Value at header level)
    Note Sales Document was entered in EUR euros.
    Document     Quantity     Unit     Ref. Value     Currency
    Standard Order 0025082768 / 10     12 EA     5,207.54 USD
    ...Delivery 0080211725 / 10     12 EA
    .....Picking request 20100423 / 10     12 EA
    .....Handling unit 0001221687 / 1     12 EA
    .....GD goods issue:delvy 4901261948 / 1     12 EA     1,690.08 GBP
    ...Invoice 0092006736 / 10                           12 EA     5,207.55 USD
    Accounting document 0092006736     12 EA
    If I highlight top line in document flow, I see the following in lower part of screen.  This is the currency entered on the sales order.
    0025082768     10          12     EA     3,847.80     EUR

    Smile,
    Thanks for pointing those configuration points out.   I checked my system and found the following.  I do not see any change documents for the configuration points, so they have been set this way since our implemenation in 2005.
    XD02 is customer master change, the customer on my order is set to EUR in sales in distribution tabs.
    OX02 - Company Code

    4000     Hong Kong     USD...ok
    I think OVX5 is not set correctly, should be same as OX02.  If I change them, do I need to run an update in the system for old data?  Or is it as simple as changing the value here?  I'm hesitant to change this not knowing how this will affect the system.  Do you know?

  • Value not displayed correctly when sent through a Java POJO datasource, but is perfect when used with MySQL.

    I have this strange problem - A field value is displayed correctly in the crystal report when pulled from MySQL table (field is Varchar(25)). But the same field when loaded into a Java POJO and set the POJO as new datasource the value is garbled up.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Early implementations of the POJO Factory set the default display size to 12, which caused corruption in the display starting from the 12th character when the size exceeded the display size.
    Would you try specifying the MemberColumnDisplaySize property for that column in POJOResultSetFactory to reflect the actual size?

    Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
    You can try to using the CommandTimeout property to specify the number of seconds to wait while attempting to execute a command. For example:
    set comm=Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
    comm.CommandTimeout=600

    Hello,
    Check to make sure you don't have those items set to escape html.
    Past that are you sure your javascript is putting in the &lt;br /&gt; tags correctly? before you submit fire a alert that shows the value of the hidden item and make sure it's correct there.

  • Constrained values not generating correctly in Dashboard prompt

    Hi,
    I have a dashboard prompt which has 4 drop downs viz From Month, From Year, To Month, To year and one Mullti Select Product.The default and the drop down values for the first four prompts are controlled by SQL queries so that in drop down only those values are displayed in the drop down for which i have data in my fact tables and the multi select of product is a constratined one.
    As per the current scenario i have data for current month - 1 (say if current month is August so i have data for July). In the default values for these prompts i show the current month and year (August and 2010). So when i select July in my From Month prompt the values for other promts get set to August and 2010 for month and date prompts (both From and To). And then when i click on the multi select of product no values are shown on OBI screen even though they are in database.
    This is due to the fact the query that OBI genrates in the backend the To Month is set to August not May, even though May is shown on the dashboard.
    However, if cilck on GO then the values for contsratined promt are generated correctly and also the backend query changes the To Month is set to May.
    Could somebody help me to resolve this problem.
    Thx :)

    Reminds me of a bug I hit with constrained prompts and a time dimension, but I didnt have another dimension (your Product) in my case. I'll try and dig out the bug number for you. - Have you got a support account to login and check it out?

    The fact that it can work without XmlText is down to luck. That, I suppose, is also what Dave means. ColdFusion is forgiving you. In fact, your coming here with the problem is warning enough.
    Your code should, strictly speaking, be something like:
    <CFIF myxml.iimobileengine.response.XmlText IS "FAIL">
    <CFOUTPUT>Stage 1: #myxml.iimobileengine.reason.XmlText#</CFOUTPUT>

    To see why adding XmlText is a good habit, run the following test:
    isXml(myxml.iimobileengine.response): <cfoutput>#isXml(myxml.iimobileengine.response)#</cfoutput><br>
    <cfdump var="#myxml.iimobileengine.response#">
    It should convince you that myxml.iimobileengine.response isn't just simple text.

  • XQuery tokenize() regular expression not interpreting correctly?

    I've been trying to use XQuery tokenize() with a regular expression as an argument.
    Given the string
    S831409 $50 070886
    (Note: 3 spaces at the end.)
    And the expression
    \b(\w+)\b
    to find words on word boundaries
    and using java.util.regex functions Pattern() and Matcher(), this is returned:
    S831409
    50
    070886
    without leading or trailing spaces.
    Using the XQuery:
    depositAmt =
    {snip}
    return
    let $fndWord := xf:tokenize($locVal, "\b(\w+)\b")
    return $fndWord[2]
    I would expect to get
    depositAmt="50"
    Instead I get
    depositAmt=" $"
    Okay, changing the return to
    $fndWord[3]
    I get
    depositAmt=" "
    Changing the return to
    $fndWord
    gets
    depositAmt=" $ "
    Changing the regEx to
    \b\s+\b
    improves things somewhat, but not much.
    Am I missing something?

    The pattern that is supplied to tokenize() function is used to indicate the SEPARATOR. So the pattern given to the function must match the separator instead of the content that you want. So you must think in the opposite.
    For your case try to use [^\w]+ as the pattern. I think it should give you the same result.
    Good luck

    I suggest putting System.out.println() throughout your servlet code and out.println() in your JSP pages to see exactly what is called and when.
    As a general rule, JSP files are to display data only, and submit back to a servlet. The servlet does all the business logic and dispatches to the appropriate >JSP page. The JSP shouldn't have any business logic. Including the servlet looks kinda like including business logic. Actually, in a MVC design, your >presentation, control, busines, and database layers have their own isolated responsibilities.
    I suggest the servlet put data as one java bean in request scope via request.setAttribute() and dispatch to the JSP page. The JSP page gets the data via ><useBean> tag. The JSTL gets the variables from the useBean tag and uses the data from there to display it. Really, this is my web.xml file...

    As Balusc pointed out it's the result of running this JSP page without importing the tag library at the top.
    Because the tag library is not declared, it treats the <c:forEach> and other tags as template text, and basically ignores them.
    It then evaluates the ${items} attribute as an expression in template text, calling toString() on it.

    Then in an HTML Region I have the following code to create the divs that will be shown and hidden - <div id="divREGION" class="divs">Select region to get list of countries.</div>
    <div id="divCOUNTRY" class="divs">Select country to get list of cities.</div>
    <div id="divCITY" class="divs">Select city and then press "Get Employees". </div>
    Note that these divs contain static content. You may be able to create dynamic content for these divs by creating dynamic query regions and putting div tags around the region (i havent tried this, it may require template modification).
    The select boxes have this code in the "HTML form elements attributes" - onFocus="javascript:showHideDiv(this,true)" onBlur="javascript:showHideDiv(this,false)"
    This onFocus and onBlur call the showHideDiv() function, passing in the object reference of the select box and a true/false to show/hide the related div.
    The actual javascript function that is contained in the 108.js file is:
    function showHideDiv(objThis, inBool){
         var divid = "div" + objThis.id.substring(3);
         if (inBool) {
         ShowDiv(divid);
         else {
    HideDiv(divid);
    That function in turn calls either the ShowDiv() or HideDiv() functions, depending on the true or false, passing in the ID of the div to be changed...
    function ShowDiv(divid){
         eval('document.all'+ '["' + divid + '"]' + '.style' +'.display = "inline"');
    function HideDiv(divid){
         eval('document.all'+ '["' + divid + '"]' + '.style' +'.display = "none"');
    Hope this helps.

  • JSP Custom tag not working correctly for multiple users

    I am doing some support work for an existing web system. When doing single user access (a custom tag is called within the JSP); the output of the Custom tag is fine. However, during multiple user access to the JSP, as I could see on the log files, 2 users access the custom tag at exactly the same time- the output of one of the users was incorrect. The custom tag btw, uses TreeMap, Stringbuffer and does not have a body, only attributes passed to it. It takes an input file and a Hashmap as input attributes and it sets a string in the page context which is later being used in the JSP. No error is logged, its just that the string produced(placed in the page context) is incorrect. This only happens when this tag is called at same time(when multiple users accessing the page) Has anyone encountered this problem? Is there a known pooling/thread problem with custom tags?

    in a servlet/jsp (a jsp is compiled into a servlet),
    the class atrributes are shared. only the
    variables declared in the doservice (doGet or doPost)
    method are threadsafe.
    post your jsp plzhere's the snippet of the jsp code:
    <%@ page language="java"
    errorPage="Error.jsp"
    autoFlush="false"
    buffer="128kb"
    import="java.text.*,
    java.math.BigDecimal,
    java.rmi.RemoteException,
    java.util.*,
    java.io.*,
    %>
    <%@ include file="Secure.jsp" %>
    // a set of request.getParameter are being called here
    HashMap myMap = new HashMap();
    myMap.put(xmlDPhoneNumber, dPhoneNumber);
    myMap.put(xmlDPhoneType, "D");
    myMap.put(xmlDPhoneExt, dExtension);
    myMap.put(xmlDPhoneDigits, dPhoneDigits);
    // other myMap putting of key values are called here
    %>
    <test:applyCustomerSearchValues id="resultXml" xmlTemplate="/xml/message/CustomerUpdateRequest.xml"
    xmlMap="<%= myMap %>" />
    <test:transformXMLString id="customerUpdateRequest"
    xmlString="<%= resultXml.toString() %>"
    xslFileName="/xsl/message/CustomerCreateRequest.xsl"
    paramMap="<%= PMap %>"/>
    now here's the thing: the xml produced by test:applyCustomerSearchValues is resultXml which is used in test:transformXMLString. I got no problem with the output of test:transformXMLString. I am sure that a phone number is being passed into the former as part of the HashMap key-value. However when test:applyCustomerSearchValues is called when 2 users access the jsp, it seems like the the first xml produced does not have the phone number in it - but the other has it. The xml is OK for both users, its just that the values of the HashMap do not seem to be passed correctly into the xml produced.
    --- here's the snippet of the log, the first httpWorkerThread-80-6 does not have the phone number, however the second one-httpWorkerThread-80-7 has the phone number. The first one should also have a phone number as in the start of the log, the number was listed, but as the system called the test:applyCustomerSearchValues tag, the number was not included. There are different phone numbers for the 2 users. The odd thing here is, the userID which is the 'LastUpdatedBy' element has been set correctly. The userID is being fetched from a session attribute while the phone number is fetched from a request parameter, both are being placed in the HashMap attribute passed to the custom tag.

    (ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
    I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
    I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
    I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
    I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
    I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
    Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
    When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
    Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
    These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
    Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

    Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.
