Bracket keys for circle size

Why don't my bracket keys increase or decrease circle size in CS5.  All I get is a small plus sign.

Or too small a brush size, or have CAPS LOCK pressed...
Oooops!  Caps Lock!  Of course, that's what I was thinking of when I mindlessly wrote "make sure you don't have the Shift key locked", which is sheer nonsense.  Thanks for the timely correction, guru Cox.

  • Bracket keys for increase/decrease on brush size don't update display settings - any workaround?

I’m a PS user new to Illustrator (CS6). In PS, using the bracket keys [] to increase/decrease brush point size will simultaneously update the data displayed in the tool panel at the top.
While I can use the bracket keys in Illustrator to change the appearance of the brush stroke, it is not being updated in the tool panel input or in the stroke window…so I can essentially have (2) 3 pt strokes created with the same brush that don’t visually match but whose display properties DO match. Because I will be doing lots of editing I certainly don’t want to work this way.
Is this just one of those glitchy things? Anyone know an alternate method that works?
    TIA,

    Hi Kurt-
Not the blob brush, just the basic 3 pt round paintbrush tool.

  • Brush size won't change with bracket keys?

Hey - I'm having an issue with Photoshop CC that I haven't encountered with previous versions of Photoshop (I've searched for solutions first - no luck). My shortcut keys for Brush size '[ & ]' stop working after choosing a different brush (even the default brushes). I can still use the Alt+mouse shortcut, but I'm old school and like using the brackets. I tried re-establishing my shortcuts in Preferences, but that did nothing. Suffice to say I'm quite frustrated as this has impacted the workflow I'm used to.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance.

Thanks! It never occurred to me that caps lock would have any effect on brush cursors.

  • Macbook Pro, bracket keys, brush size

Using a French keyboard, how can one access the bracket keys on a Macbook Pro in order to change brush sizes. The usual shift-option-( to get the bracket keys does not work, at least for me. I'm on 10.5.4. Thanks.

Under Edit  Keyboard Shortcuts  Tools You can enter a new key-combination for Decrease Brush Size and Increase Brush Size.

Yep, I discovered that.  Thank you very much for the prompt and accurate reply.

  • PSE6 - Right and Left Bracket Keys are no longer increasing or decreasing brush size

Hi.  I have PSE6 (and 9 and PSCS5).  Up until yesterday, my right and left bracket keys were shortcuts to making my brush size increase and decrease.  NOW, however, they seem to affect only the strength or opacity levels, depending on what tool I'm using when I try them.
I do not have my caps lock key on.  I have not changed the language of my keyboard.
There is no "Preference" listing that I can change that would affect this.
Thoughts, pretty pretty please?  I see a user forum in the UK where this has become an issue for several other people, but no one has found or posted the solution yet.
Many, many thanks in advance for your kind thoughts, suggestions and solutions!

    Works in my Lr5.
It can happen that during a long Lr session with lots of AdjBrush work the brackets stop to work or become sluggish.
I close Lr, open it again and am back in business.

  • Informix: Error while trying to set up start or end key for index read

    Hi all
Im moving an application from weblogic 6.1 to 8.1, we're using informix as our databasemanager and are using informix's XA driver. However im running into the following error:
SQL State: IX000, Exception: java.sql.SQLException: [Internal] Error while trying to set up start or end key for index read [fmstopset_release],
SQL ErrorCode: -9847, Error Message: [Internal] Error while trying to set up start or end key for index read [fmstopset_release], RSAM ErrorCode: -101
    ...while accessing a table.
The same code runs fine twice, but the third and following times it fails with the above error code. I've tried setting the various XA flags available in the weblogic console but with no success so far.
Anyone have any input to this problem? Ive not seen many postings about this error out in the cyberspace and the fews ive seen never gets any response...so i just have to hope anyone in here know anything about it.
    Best regards

    Hello
I managed to work around my problem by setting the "statement cache size" in the jdbc connection pool to 0. At least that seems to be a work around, im not fully happy with it.
I attach the stack trace from the exception, perhaps it will give someone an idea.
Btw, we're using sun.jdbc.rowset.ExtendedCachedRowSet to populate the resultset to a "disconnected resultset" which the application works with instead of the resultset. Any statements and resultsets that are created are closed before returning the ExtendedCachedRowSet to the application.
If the application works when statement caching is turned off, then it implies a bug in the
informix driver to do with re-using a prepared statement. Is the PreparedStatement used
the same way each time? (the one at AbstractDAO.java:166) What I mean to ask is, If/when
this statement is created with a given SQL string, are the parameters for that SQL always
    set the same way?
    thanks,

  • I need a shortcut-key for "Configure VI...". How do I manage this?

From the my step context menu in my sequence editor, I would
like to use a shorcut key for "Configure VI..."
(like one exists for "Specify Module..." = Ctrl + M)
    How do I do this?
Better, how can I set the mouse double-click to
call the "Configure VI..." instead of calling
    the Step Properties Window?
Thank you again for your Help!

Oops, the message board removed what I had typed in angle brackets. Here it is again with different brackets:
Well, this isn't really the answer you want and you probably already know it, but with the step selected you can use the menu accelerator by typing [context-menu-key] V [enter] to bring up the dialog.
The [context-menu-key] is the key with a picture of a popup menu on it. On my keyboard it is between the [program-start-key] and the CTRL key.

  • Using i3 - keys start to lag (have to hold key for more than 1 second)

I'm using i3 and am having trouble with the keys suddenly and I have to restart the session to get it back to normal.  No clue what it could be.  I can use gnome, cinnamon, wmii, and awesome without issue, but i3 is what causes me problems.
When I type, I have to hold each key for more than 1 second before it registers.  So in order to type "boat" I have to press and hold b for a second, then o for a second or so, same with a and t.  Any idea what I should check first?
    Thanks.
    EDIT:
It just seems to happen randomly.  When I'm typing, on the web, playing a game, etc.  It's not like it's happening whenever I do a specific task or am running a specific application.

  • Where's the square bracket key?

Hey guys. I'm using a Dutch azerty keyboard and I can't find the square bracket keys. I need 'em badly for programming. How can I type them?

I don't see a Dutch azerty keyboard layout - the Dutch layout is qwerty and the square brackets are to the right of the p key.
However, for the Belgian layout, which is azerty, [ is Shift-Option-5 and ] is Shift-Option-- (Shift-Option-Hyphen).
You can hunt for keys yourself (do you remember the Classic utility KeyCaps?)- go to System Preferences > International > Input Menu tab and check the box for Keyboard Viewer. A flag should appear in your menu bar (if not, scroll down to your language and check the box there). Click on the flag in the menu bar and select Show Keyboard Viewer. A mini keyboard will appear, and you can hold down Shift, Option, Ctrl, or any combinations of them and the keys will show you what you get.
    Hope this solves your problem...

The main issue is that the diameter of my brush stops partially and therefore I can not really see the size of my brush. Can anyone help me with this. This issue started after I updated to Mac OS X Yosimite

You can Reset the Brush Tool, select the Brush tool and ctrl-click on its' icon in the Options bar.
Next try a Preferences reset: Hold down cmd-opt-shift while starting Photoshop and agree to the Reset.
if that does not work I suggest a reinstall. The upgrade has been know to damage CS5 installs.

        NAME

The problem is here two different constarints from two different tables. While inserting, it is checking from both the tables whether the parent is exist or not.
How can i solve this problem? Can anyone halp me about this?
    Thanks

Actually the design is completely incorrect.
    What you say is
    I have
    'foo', 'foo series'
    'foo','foo model'
    'foo',666
By virtue of table3 referring to both table1 and table2.
This means you actually need to have 1 (one) table:
    'foo','foo series','foo model', 666
    And the 'problem' disappears.

    >is it safe applying access key for this screen?
yes it is safe. SAP provided the screen 8459 only for adding our own custom fields to it. For this you need access key for the first time. along with that you need access key for

    Hello,
Hoping someone can help me with this question - Is it possible to change the depreciation key for closed fiscal years - we need to change it for Tax - books. And if yes - does it mean we need to open closed fiscal years ??
    Thank you,
    Richa

    Hi,
you will need to open the FI and AA periods. After changing the depreciation keys do the necessary dep run and close the books in the correct sequence. There should not be problem.
