BRBACKUP ended with errors!

Question

Dear Experts,
              I am facing a problem while take backup of development server in tape for last few days.System is AIX 5.3 and Oracle 10.2. DB13 backup throws error :

this error comes from each tape I had [3 tapes].
now whenever I am taking backup using brtools with fource this error is is like :

One thing I want to add when I am giving tcopy /dev/rmt0 it shows some line in the mid like : "read : there is an input or output errror."
And when I am giving tctl -f /dev/rmt0 read : it gives: Can't read from 512 bytes.
But block size of tape is 0. Though I have changed it once from 0 to 512 and then again I replaced it from 512 to 0.
Please help me out. As it is a live server and backup is not being done.

It clearly states the following:
HP's cpio is still limited to a maximum file size of 2Gb (see the man page warnings). This is due to industry standards. HP did provide supply a patch for tar which increases the maximum file size to 8Gb but a tape with files larger than 2Gb on it cannot be read by unpatched tar or on other platforms -- in other words, not portable.
It means that CPIO in HPUX cannot handle files greater than 2 GB. The solution is to zip the file and then use GNU tar to backup to tape.
You can contact youur hardware vendor to know further details.
Don't forget to make necessary changes in the script to call the GNU Tar instead of CPIO.
