Browser back javscript restriction is not supported in Safari 5.1.2

We have downloaded window supported safari 5.1.2 browser.
we have written code to block browser back button using bellow javascript
window.history.forward(1); which is working fine in all the browsers like chrome,mozilla,IE, safari 5.1.1
but in safari 5.1.2
when we click on browser back button its navigating to previous page instead displaying same page.
Please guide us to resolve this issue. We are waiting for your response.

Ummm...Safari 5 doesn't run on the iPad. It runs on Mac OS and Windows.

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
/Library/Application Support/Conduit
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
Library/Application support/conduit plugins
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

Hi - I am trying to get onto my company website (which is for personnel only, not public) but always get the message below from my Mac (not from my laptop which isn't a Mac). Would upgrading Safari make a difference? What does "it cannot redirect to locations starting with “(null):”." mean? Thanks.

Nope. Try out Tom's suggestion of using an alternative browser. I have a feeling it has all to do with poor coding - something which FireFox is more tolerant of.

I dont seem to be able to go back in safari by using finger scrolling on trackpad on my air- I can on my imac but it wont work on the air. I know that other people have had a similar problem and have read the suggestions but I dont know how to empy cache and do the other things suggested. Can anyone tell me in plain english how to fix it please.

It's fine now. Originally, he went on Safari and clicked on one of his most visited sites and was unable to scroll. Then he went to Google and was able to get to the keyboard to do a search (I guess he couldn't do that with the scrolling issue). He also tried Yahoo and did a search for a news site he couldn't get to previously, went to the site and now everything is fine. For someone with PTSD (not me) this is like a life or death situation. For me, it's something I try to look into for resolve ASAP!!!

I'm a College Sophomore who is taking a College Algebra Class. At first I was glad to hear all out homework had been moved to the computer I had an excuse to be on the computer longer, but as soon as i log into the site it notifies me that i'm using an incorrect browser and recommends Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0. I try again using Firefox and get the same message, i'm starting to relize it may only be possible to access the site from IE, but Microsoft has disallowed Macs from using IE without purchasing Windows. I know this isn't a Safari Specific 'problem' but i was really hoping maybe someone would know of a patch for safari or another browser to allow it to work, thankyou I'll appreciate any help i can get

That's a good question to pose to the site developer via the "contact us" section of the web site. Amazing to me some web sites still provide content exclusive to one operating system. Perhaps, they haven't kept up to date with the latest market statistics and Apple's increasing market share?

Browser back button not working with ADF Application integrated with SSO

I have integrated an adf application with Oracle SSO Authentication. Application is running fine.
Though, while navigating between pages, using browser back button , it is not redirecting the url properly
Should Redirect it to : http://<hostname>:<port>/<contex-root>/<servlet>/<id>
Presently Redirecting it to :http://<hostname>:<port>/<contex-root>
As, directory browsing is not allowed, there is Error 403--Forbidden .
Can anybody tell what changes needs to be made to make browser back button work.

In some of the documentation I have read, they have mentioned that using the back button in a browser doesn't work too well with any JSF type of application (not just ADF and Jdeveloper apps).

HP UFT 12.02 does not support .object property for most of the objects in Chrome

Does not support .object property for WebTable,webList and So on.
It actually shows the native property in Object spy but when programatically we try to work on it, its unable to find the object.
I Know that for Browser Object .object property is not supported.

What is the best way to be able to run certain websites that aren't supported by safari, firefox, and chrome, in other words only internet explorer?

I really need to do a class online but it wont save progress because it is not supported by safari and only works with internet explorer. What is the best way around this?

Try this with Safari ...
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the menu bar again click Develop > User Agent
Try IE 9, 8, or 7.
An alternative is to create a partition on the Mac hard drive and install Windows using Boot Camp but that is a long and drawn out process and you would need to purchase an Window install disc.

The browser back button is not working correctly when using the search funtion in ProBoards forums. Is there a known issue with ProBoards & FF?

I have submitted a bug report to ProBoards, but they cannot duplicate the problem I am having, so I am submitting this here in hopes you can find a solution.
At ProBoards Support and another PB forum while doing searches I found this problem, which continues with repeated testing over the past week or so:

1. enter perameters for the search (posts only by staff for the last 2 days)
2. choose one of those post results & click on it (choose a post on page 14 and not on page 1 of the results)
3. using the browser back button, attempt to return to the previous page of search results
4. rather than being taken back to the search results with my parameters, the search parameters have been removed and the page show 1000 results of posts by everybody.
I have tested this over and over again, disabling plugins, and nothing seems to alter the malfunctioning of the back button when I am doing this search function at ProBoards.
I have tested it in Internet Explorer and find that in IE the browser back button works properly with ProBoards searches. I always get the result I expect, so it's a problem with how FF interfaces with ProBoards, I think.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

I have just upgraded from FF3 to FF8 Customized setting browser.link.open_newwindo.restriction 0 Popups triggered from searchable fields open in a new tab BUT they do not populate the originating field with selected results

Is that pref added by an extension?
What happens if you right-click and reset that pref?
