Browser scroll value - Edge Animate

Hello!
I have a task to control sym timeline with a browser scroller. If my animation "encloused" and I use "overflow: scroll" it works - the Stage.scroll works. But I need to to have my animation not encloused and with overflow:hidden, this means that my Stage don't have own scroller bar and my browser scroller is not trigger this action. At least as I am understaing this.
I think that usage of JS API can solve my task - window.onScroll starts the calculation function and move results "inside" my animation as sym.stop(xx). But my skills with JS quite limited and I am sking your help and explanations.
Thank you in advance!

Actually this video about additional library with Parallax scrolling solves the issue

but would be nice to know expert opinion about the question.

  • Scroll Page/Parallax Effect Edge Animate

    Hello. I have been working on Edge Animation which play according to the page scroll.
    I have used EdgeCommons.js to play the animation when scroll but when I add the animation to the static website .HTML page it's not working according to the page scroll.
    It's targeting edge stage but I want to play to with the browser scroll.

  • Custom scroll bar in edge animate?

    Hello everyone!
    I have been test edge animate for a while now playing with all it's buttons and gadets and I recently came across a java script code which allows the timeline to be controled by the scrollbar, which you can download for youself below. To my understanding it is an early preview of edge commons 9.0 which is being worked on by simonwidjaja and his team.
    http://labs.edgedocks.com/content/gimmick/parallax.zip
    I love the ability to be able to control the timeline by the scrollbar. However this type of effect only looks smooth on browsers with smooth scrolling. And because very few browsers ship with smooth scrolling by default (I believe Firefox is the only one) and very few internet users have the knowedge to turn smooth scrolling on it kind of ruins the parallax effect when it is viewed on a browser that skips 150 px (or in our case many frames of the animation) every time you scroll down.
    Does anyone know either how build a custom scrollbar in edge animate that would be triggered by the mousewheel and keyboard that would control the animation? If so please please please let me know, I have tried doing this myself for about a week and have gotten nowhere.
    Thank you so much for your help!

    I'm desperate for a solution to this, too.
    I've been frying my poor noodle of a brain for days now, researching, reading and experimenting with all sorts of things, but I'm getting absolutely nowhere. I'd love to be able to reproduce something like the smooth mouse wheel scroll which can be seen at www.boycoy.com but using the superb Edge Commons Parallax feature (or something similar?) to run Edge content.
    Any ideas anyone? Not looking for easy fixes, I'm very happy to learn and develop stuff that I can feedback into the mix for all. I just need pointing in the right direction

  • Adobe Edge Animate CC won't preview in Browser

    I am writing a review on Adobe Edge Animate CC. Loving the program until I tried to preview it in a browser.
    I am on a PC, using latest version of Firefox, and IE10. The only thing that is viewable in either browser is a static image.
    The animation runs perfectly "within" the Edge Animate CC program.
    Need to resolve this problem, as I would hate to give the program a bad review, especially if it is something that I'm doing wrong.
    Thanks for any help you can give,
    Dee Marie

    Thanks for your response to my question.
    The animation I created was very simple one.
    The Original Animation (that I could not view in any browser)
    1. Resized the Stage and changed the background color
    2. Created a "moon" shape from the Ellipse Tool, adding a silver color and inverted shadow
    3. Animated "moon" shape using Motion Paths
    4. Added a font from Edge Web Fonts (clicking the Add Fonts within the Edge Web Fonts box), changed font color and size
    Saved each step as I created them
    The first time I tried to create the above animation it would not animate when previewed in browser.
    TODAY: I started from scratch.
    The only thing that I did differently: after saving "each" step, I clicked preview in browser.
    To my surprise, each time I added an additional step the animation worked perfectly when I clicked "preview in browser"
    Not sure what I did wrong the first time ... as I stated above, the only thing that I did differently this time was to click the "preview in browser" between each step (after first saving each step).
    So, whatever I did, it is now working perfectly!
    Thanks again for your helpful response.
    Sincerely,
    Dee Marie

  • Create an image scroller with swipe&drag in Edge Animate

    Hi folks!
    I'm trying to create a image scroller like this one http://www.awwwards.com/demo/touchSwipe-gallery-demo.html.
    For the Swipe, I use the wonderful JQuery Plugin TouchSwipe http://labs.rampinteractive.co.uk/touchSwipe/demos/, but for the image sliding I would use the Adobe Edge Animate Timeline.
    I know that I can use the Swipe events in Edge Animate to make start or reverse the timeline with pictures, but I would also make working an intermediate "dragging".
    My problem, in fact, is: how can I make that - if I've only begun to swipe  and I move the finger to left or right without releasing it - my timeline "drag" (or scrubs) frame by frame - like in the example above - until I release the finger?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Davide

    Hi Elaine!
    First, thanks for your prompt answer!
    I read the link you gave me: in fact, I was aware - also thanks to Old Tim's posts - about how to create a "scrubber" in Edge Animate, starting from formulas like:
    Translation = (positionOfScrubber/WidthOfScrubbing)*timeline;
    My problem now is - I fear - more subtle: I can swipe left-right a set of pictures, I can "scrub" a timeline (using for example JqueryUI for the dragging), but I don't know how to put together the swiping and the dragging.
    I would that - like in the example from my first post - if, e.g., I completed the swipe left, my timeline would play the animation that shows the pic moving to the left but, if I didn't complete the swiping and I begun dragging to the left, the animation would move with my dragging-finger (the "scrubbing")...
    I know is very subtle, but it's how the gallery scrollers works on web and app in mobile devices...
    Many thanks for your attention!

  • Edge Animate ad banner to open up a link in the in app browser window of Adobe Content Viewer

    Hi I've got an adobe edge animate banner that animates and looks good. But I need it to be able to open a link (once the banner has been tapped on) in the Adobe Content Viewer app's in app browser window. Presently it only opens up within the 300x600 box that the ad is in.

    Can you post your current link code?
    It sounds like you are using the "_self" property which is opening it up inside the banner.
    Try using window.open("yourlink", "_blank");

  • Edge Animate Scroll Effects must loop, cant stop at end?

    I have an Edge Animate composition that I have inserted into Muse and have selected and checked the box for Edge Animate Scroll Effects. The Edge Animate compositon is of a piece of text that is set to shrink to about half size and then stop once it reaches the end of it's timeline. In the scroll animation I created, as the page is scrolled the text travels from the center of the home page, starting at full size, to the upper left side, where it reaches the end of it's Edge Animate timeline and should rest as a logo in the banner at half size. The problem I'm encountering is that Muse ignores the stop action at the end of the timeline and instead loops through the timeline over and over, causing the text to continuously go from full size to half size and then back again after it comes to rest in the upper left corner of the banner as the page is further scrolled, even though I have a stop action placed at the end of the Edge Animate timeline.
    Must an Edge Animate Scroll effect loop continuously as the page is scrolled, or is there a way to make them stop at the end of the Animate timeline? Obviously, having it scroll off the page before it begins to loop over again would not be a solution, given that I want it to rest in the upper left corner as a logo…
    Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

    The answer is quite straightforward
    you cannot stop the animation from looping in MUSE if you linked it to scrolling
    BUT
    you can still do it in EDGE ANIMATE - the technic which works for me is to put a "trigger" like STOP at 30 or 40s at the end of the timeline of your animation.
    Then for MUSE it will be considered as an "ongoing" animation and will not loop. Still the user keep the possibility to "scroll backward" and deconstruct the animation while scrolling  which is I believe what you were seeking.

  • Problème de scroll avec animation edge animate

    Voila j'ai un petit problème avec une animation en edge.
    Sur la page de ce lien se trouve une bannière faite avec edge animate : la bleue
    http://www.malaga-brand.com/agence.html
    Le petit hic c'est que le scroll n'a de cesse de fonctionne quand on scroll vers le bas mais uniquement dans la banniere même quand  l'anime est censé être fini.
    le code js dans edge utilisé est le suivant :
    var positionScrollVertical = $(e.target).scrollTop();
    var pas = Math.floor(positionScrollVertical / 1920 * 1000);
    sym.getSymbol("malagaaa").stop(pas);
    sym.$("malagaaa").css({"top": positionScrollVertical+"px"});
    j'aimerais que lorsque l'animation de la bannière soit terminée, le scroll dans la bannière prenne fin et que cela soit celui de la page qui prenne le relais.
    Merci à vous par avance

    Ah et j'ai du effacer les barres de scroll car elles apparaissent sous chrome et ff alors que sous safari non comment faire pour qu'elles n'apparaissent pas? merci

  • Recreating super slick iPhone 6 video scroll effect in Edge Animate

    On the iPhone 6 marketing page page, there are several HTML5 video elements (MP4) that react to scrolling in realtime. This is a super slick effect and I'm curious how it's working. Wondering if there's a way to do this in Edge Animate since frames are in absolute time and Edge Animate uses time as only a guide (no exact frames). Also working in Adobe Muse, so if there's a way to use that, great!
    This would be a great alternative to using 100+ JPEGs as the file size with an MP4 for tons of the same data is MUCH lower.
    Here's the page: http://www.apple.com/iphone-6/
    Screenshot for reference:  http://i.imgur.com/pCHkstw.png
    You'll have to scroll down to the shot right above "iPhone at its largest. And thinnest." heading.
    NOTE: This seems to work for MP4 only (not OGG-only browsers like FF for OSX). Tested in Chrome and Safari.

  • BUG - Edge animate 2014.1.1 (February) pivot doesn't remain in browser

    When animating in Edge Animate I manually position the "anchor point" with the "Transform Tool (q)" or the origin percentages in the Transform panel. • Edge Animate - Animation durch scrolling steuern - Digital Publishing

    Hallo!
    Brauche dringend Hilfe..
    (Beispielsweise in folgenden Apps: Victoria Secret, Porsche Christopherus, BMW Magazin).
    Also eine Animation zu erstellen in Edge Animate ist nicht das Problem, nur welchen Code muss ich dann an welcher Stelle einfügen um diesen Effekt zu erzielen?
    Bitte um Hilfe!

    Mik, let me ask around and find out who built this. It may take a few days but I'll see what I can find out.

  • Edge Animate CC (3.0.0.322.27519) issues

    Hello,
    I recently updated to Edge Animate CC (3.0.0.322.27519) and I am now face several issues.
    First, several of my projects are no longer working. Some of my symbols' values have been altered to extreme low values (-7000 something for both width and height as well as x, y coordinates). When I try to correct them I get this error message:
    "An error has occurred. Please save you work and restart Adobe Edge Animate."
    Second, and more importantly, I recreated a project in its entirety to work around this, uploaded it to my site, and now certain elements on the page have 1 of 2 problems:
    The z-index order changes when the window size hits a certain browser width. This causes content to be hidden or obscured.
    Certain visible elements are now invisible. I’m guessing this related to opacity settings, but it not on all elements that use this property, only a select handful. The oddest thing about this one is that it is only when look at the published site online. When I preview it locally, or loaded the published content locally, it loads correctly.
    I would greatly appreciate a prompt answer to my question as I am under to gun to complete my project.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    I finally at the chance to test these suggestions.
    None of them worked.
    In terms of the error message: "An error has occurred. Please save you work and restart Adobe Edge Animate." I went as far as re-installing edge and clearing all the preferences and there was no change.
    In terms of the other 2 issues:
    The z-index order changes when the window size hits a certain browser width. This causes content to be hidden or obscured.
    Certain visible elements are now invisible. I’m guessing this related to opacity settings, but it not on all elements that use this property, only a select handful. The oddest thing about this one is that it is only when look at the published site online. When I preview it locally, or loaded the published content locally, it loads correctly.
    I sill have these as well. The code that was provided in the thread "http://forums.adobe.com/message/6269420?tstart=0" did not do anything. It seems this code is only for webkit browsers. I am seeing these issues in IE, FireFox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera. So it's not surprising that the code did not help.
    Also, I PM Hemanth 3/4 days ago and haven't heard anything back.
    Can someone please help?
    Thanks,
    Carter

  • Custom CSS Is Crashing Adobe Edge Animate

    Below is the HTML and CSS for a basic page, with one style. When I open it in Adobe Edge Animate and then create a shape, and set the class of that shape to "mystyle" it displays fine in the Edge Animate window (except the border style appears missing). However, as soon as I try to move the shape, Edge crashes - consistently every time. If I create a DIV on the page outside of Edge Animate first, and apply the CSS to it, then open the page in Edge, I can move the shape around - but I lose several style options in the Properties panel such as Filters and a couple others.
    I'm trying to get a better understanding of what would be the best workflow when trying to use Edge to animate existing web page layouts - creating the animations and DIVs entirely in Edge first then placing the animation into an existing layout, or creating a page layout in something like Dreamweaver (along with all my other custom CSS), then opening it in Edge to animate it.
    I saw elsewhere where someone explained how to attach an external style sheet instead. This seems to work without crashing, however  I cannot see the rendered style on the stage itself, only when I preview the animation in a browser.

              background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%);
              background-image: -o-linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%);
              background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%);
              background-image: linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%);
              overflow: hidden;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    </body>
    </html>

    You could use the styles inside Edge Animate directly in compositionReady. If you have an earlier version of edge for the gradient do:
    For example:
    sym.$('Stage').css({
      'background-image': '-moz-linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%)',
              'background-image': '-o-linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%)',
             ' background-image': '-webkit-linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%)',
              'background-image': 'linear-gradient(bottom, #ebebeb 0%, #ebebeb 0.27%, #ebebeb 50%, #fff 51%, #d6d6d6 98.93%, #d6d6d6 100%)'
    You can add the other properties  between the {} with the same format:
      'propertyName':'value',
    Newer versions of Animate have gradient from color panel.

  • Bug. Can't put two Edge Animate animations on same page

    Alrighty. Just thanked Adobe for fixing responsive scaling issue. Now there seems to be a new one. When I put two Edge Animate animations on the same page, they both disappear entirely from view! Both in live view (or what was fluid grid view) and when trying to preview in any browser. The responsive design is working great but if I put two animations on the same page they both just disappear! GONE!
    Maybe there is some code I can use to stop this from happening. I have done a number of tests over the last hour or so. My smile (from the responsive fix) is now a frown again. I can not continue to work like this. Please let me know if there is something I am doing wrong. I could have two animations in one page no worries before this release but the responsive design wasn't working properly. NOW the responsive design works but I can not have MORE THAN ONE ANIMATION on same page. Thanks for your time. Kind regards Julian.

    Hi Julian,
    First, in general, you can't create two instances of the same edge composition (this is not supported by EdgeRuntime), to be used in the same file.
    But if you want to use same composition multiple times, then follow the steps to create multiple copies to be treated as multiple instances:
        1. Open the composition whose multiple instance you want to use.
        2. Change the "Composition Class" to some other value
        3. Do a SaveAs and save it to create another copy of the same composition. // This copy can be treated as an instance.
        4. Repeat the steps 2 to 4, to create multiple copies of the same composition, and you will end up creating multiple instances.
    Second, you need to do small changes manually in the DreamWeaver html file.
        So, right now if you import two Edge Compositions in the html page, it will come as follow in the html <head/> section:
    Before Modification: Dropbox - problem.rar
    <!--Adobe Edge Runtime-->
