Browsing pages without applet reloading

Hi.
I'm working on a web project that has to keep the applet active over a multiple web pages.
The applet should be active while the user is logged in. But because the reloading of the page will reload the applet, the work that the applet is doing will be restarted with the loading of the next page.
So I hope that someone will help me to get over this problem with some advice.
Regard.

          If you have your jsp workingDir in your WEBLOGICCLASSPATH or your JAVACLASSPATH,
          the jsps may recompile but will not reload.
          If you have your pageCheckSeconds set to -1, the page will not recompile.
          WLS is supposed to check if a JSP has been updated every pageCheckSeconds seconds.
          If you have WLS 5.1.0 sp8 or sp9, your pages may not recompile.

  • How can destroy Java Plug - in when i jump to another page without Applet

    When I jump to another HTML page, that not include <Applet> </Applet> tag, the Java Plug-in does not exit and use system's resource. I don't want it make my computer run slow then I want sutdown the Java Plug-in when I stop the page, that have an Applet.

    Hi dekassequi:
    Sorry if I misunderstood the problem......I've never tried swing set because it requires the JVM plugin. All my applets are non-swing and I've noticed that frequently when I exited the browser, it would be stuck in a never-never land requiring ALT-CTRL-DEL to end the browser's task. By overriding the destroy a the call to system.exit seems to have solved my problem -- if there is any error message in the system console, it is not noticeable because it disappeared instantenousely when the browser's own JVM is used.... Besides, destroy is the last thing an applet does anyway....without looking at Java source code, I can only surmise that that's what it does
    As a matter of fact, I've just tried to write some stupid swing applet but I've noticed that one cannot really script an applet that requires a Sun JVM. Here is a link, perhaps you can take a quick look and see if I'm doing something wrong.
    http://home.attbi.com/~aokabc/test/test2.htm
    BTW, I did notice late last night that overriding the destroy method in an applet that requires a JVM plugin does give an error message in the system console which takes a bit longer to close but you know what, at least it got rid of the console afterward -- otherwise, the console just sit in the tray and ALT-CTRL-DEL can't even get rid of it. In the mean time, I'll simply remove the system.exist(0) and leave a skeleton destroy method and see if the JVM console still sit in the system tray.

  • Applet in a browser page  doesn't gain focus with JVM 1.6.x

    Hi,
    I have a problem to move TAB in a IE browser page with applet in a tag object using JVM 1.6.x
    with JVM 1.5_10 or above this is possible. You can move focus between elements page and enter and exit to applet object.
    Executing the same applet with the same JVM, but after installation of the latest 1.6 plugin, when applet gains focus it doesn't release it.
    With JVM 1.6, applet can't gain focus and manage keyevents; all keyevents are intercepted from browser (eg: IE toolbar elements are activated) .
    I need to move focus on elements of browser page with tab, and enter and exit from applet to make my application accessible event not using mouse !!
    (you can watch a recorder right sample here: http://www.vista.it/ing_vista_0311_video_streaming_accessibile_demo.php)
    Note that FireFox doesn't work at all, even if bug seems fixed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93149
    Please advise.

    Hi,
    We have found a wor around for this problem.
    The following option has been unchecked and the applet could be loaded.
    Go to java control panel
    Under the Advanced Tab
    Under the Security section
    Uncheck the last option "Use TLSv1.0".
    This makes the applet work.
    But could not understand as why this is creating a problem.
    We have tried to include TLSv1.0 in the cipher suite of our apache server, while keeping the above option in java plugin control panel checked, but even that did not solve the problem.
    Please help me of how should I proceed for this problem, as I am totally stuck.
    Thank you.

  • Update a browser URL without reloading the page

    Is there any way to update the browser url from flash without
    reloading the page?
    My main interest is in being able to use flash to change the
    url variables to reflect what is currently being displayed in the
    swf.
    ie.
    http://www.blah.com?frame=0 might be set to
    http://www.blah.com?frame=10 when the swf reaches frame 10,
    allowing the user to go directly to frame 10 if they return to the
    page later.
    Thanks
    Rick

    You can try a technique that is used by web designers to
    prevent back button actions. Through JavaScript you can write
    strings after hash "#" - like bookmarking (anchors) and then read
    this variables. The advantage is that page doesn't reload and
    bookmarks are saved in the browser history (back button issues).
    Hope it helps.

  • Sometimes when I roll the cursor across a bookmark, my browser jumps to that web page without me clicking on it. Is there any way to turn this function off?

    On occasion I will roll my cursor across a bookmark and my browser will take me to that web page without me clicking on it. I've been unable to detect a pattern; it seems to happen randomly. Can someone explain why this is happening? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I can change to prevent this from happening? And if so, can I be given instructions how to do that?

    this should not be happening, maybe one of your addons is interfering?! - can you try running firefox in safemode or with all extensions disabled for a while and see if this behaviour is still there...

  • Loading and external php page without reloading

    Hi to all,i want to load(include) php pages without reloading
    the whole page?how to accomplish that in Spry?Also can we include
    php pages also through the HTML PANEL in spry?forexample, i have a
    link which i click it should fetch dreamweaver recordset values in
    php without reloading the whole page.Is there any XML involved or
    it can be done merely through HTML Panel in Spry.Kindly help me in
    this regard.

    You can include a whole page (or part of a page) with the
    HTML Panel widget. No XML is needed for this.See the following
    page
    for HTML Panel examples and just replace the static pages by your
    php pages.

    When I browse pages in Safari, the computer spins and thinks.  I have to force re-load to get past it.  Is this my Mac or my network?

    That's a scam. Reset the browser, and if needed, manually delete its configuration and preference files.
    If you'd like to double-check, click here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. If you're willing to use a tool to remove it(you don't need to, but may find it easier), you can instead run Adware Medic; this link is a direct download.

    Hello Roger,
    thanks for your answers. I was talking about FF3 and the java sun 1.6 that
    came with ubuntu 8.04, and iirc fedora. But also epiphany under ubuntu 8.04
    and fedora with FF3 (current version, already removed it again) have troubles.
    Meanwhile I tried the new OpenJDK version and this one does not have the
    reload-problem. I noticed that combinations of FF2/Solaris FF2/Linux FF2+3/Win
    have no problems at all (all running some 1.6 versions).
    Thanks also for telling me about the 6u10 release, I realy wasn't aware of it. But
    my problem is not to make an applet working for myself. I want to develop an
    applet for others, I want to make it work with any version of java - and what I
    want is not so special, just 2 textareas and a bunch of buttons, reliable operational.
    So I will not try the 6u10 for now because even if it would work it wouldn't
    help me.
    Applets dying because of a page reload is - as I think - a horrible bug and I
    don't understand why such bug reports are a week later still marked as
    "unconfirmed" or "new". But I'm talking about mozilla bugs, so I'm probably
    at the wrong place for complaining about that.
    Another thing is that, for instance, opera on ubuntu 8.04 running the sun java
    1.6 has another kind of problems with reloads, the applet looses the focus
    on reload, one must focus another non-opera window and than focus back to
    the opera window in order to give the input focus to the applet.
    All that is very annoying if you just want to develop a little simple applet for anyone.
    Best,
    Leander
    ps.
    Btw, all browsers like FF2+3/IE6+7/Safari/Opera and the sun java 1.6 work perfectly
    under windows :-/ so problems with three popular browsers running under one of the most
    popular distributions lets me think that there is something wrong with the java support
    under linux.
    pps.
    why is there still no 64bit browser plugin?

  • How to open a new browser window without toolbar, location, and menu bars from AIR?

    I have the following problem in my Flex+AIR application. I need to embed an ActiveX component that has JavaScript API inside my application. I tried to embed it inside <mx:HTML> component but unfortunately, AIR doesnot support plug-ins or ActiveX controls. So I've decided to open it in a new browser window. I tried navigateToURL(...) method but it has two problems - it is opening a new tab in the existing browser window and there is no way for me to configure the new browser window appearance, like removing toolbar, menu bar, location bar, etc. Then I tried to open a new window from JavaScript running inside <mx:HTML> component using window.open(...) API but it doesn't open a new window at all.
    Is there any way for me to open a new browser window without toolbar, location bar, etc. (which will run ActiveX control, so it cannot be AIR window) from inside AIR?
    Best regards,
    Arkady.

    Is it possible to open a new browser window using JSP?a JSP page is also an HTML page, this is client side stuff, you can do it with JavaScript.

    You can create a javascript to window.open having toobar, menubar or statusbar=0. The page content can be customized per need. Call this javascript from a link or button click using javascript:popup_window();
    For example,
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function popup_window()
    w = window.open("", "Window", "width=320,height=400,status=0,toolbar=0,menubar=0");
    w.document.write('<html><head><title>Help Window</title>');
    w.document.write('</head><body>');
    w.document.write('<div><font face="Arial" size="2">This is help page.');
    w.document.write('</font></div><p>');
    w.document.write('<div><font face="Arial" size="1"><a href="javascript:window.close();">Close This Window</a></font></div><p>');
    w.document.write('</body></html>');
    </script>Ittichai

  • How to load JMF player in web without applet

    Is it possible to load JMF player in html or php page without the help of applet or jsp or jsf?
    I heared that flash can be handy for this purpose as java can be loaded in flash movie, can anyone give me better idea about this?

    I don't know much about flash, but "loading java in flash movie" doesn't sound like something that makes sense. Flash does video, but you'll have to go to a Flash forum for more info on that :)
    Your options for Java solutions are an Applet or launching an application via Java Web Start (see posts about that and JMF, there's caveats).

  • Updated to the latest revision. Firefox will not display my chosen home page without clicking on home icon.

    Since latest update...Firefox will not allow a new page to be opened from a link in a current page. It will allow a new tab to be opened (with tabbed browsing checked) but i prefer a new page. Even in tabbed browsing links to things like a pdf will not work at all.
    Firefox WILL NOT close. X-ing out will close the window but I can not get back to Firefox without closing it in task manager.

  • Any way to open new browser window without using image maps?

    Is there any way to open new browser window without using image maps? My code works fine in Firefox, but not in IE. There are 2 problems in IE: 1st is that the thumbnail images move up within their own borders & 2nd that when you click on an image it does open up a new browser window, but also redirects to the index page (in this case it's just a placeholder index page - the new one I've called index_new.html for the time being).
    Here is the link:
    http://www.susieharperdesigns.com/gallery_beads.html
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Your missing a value on the HREF.  In your code you have this:
    <area shape="rect" coords="-24,-9,106,144" href=" " onclick="MM_openBrWindow('gallery_bead1.html','','width=255,height=360')" />
    </map></div>
    and it should be this:
    <area shape="rect" coords="-24,-9,106,144" href="javascript:void()" onclick="MM_openBrWindow('gallery_bead1.html','','width=255,height=360')" />
    </map></div>
    If you fix the code on all your beads, it should work.
