That's a scam. Reset the browser, and if needed, manually delete its configuration and preference files.

Means you have an incompatible Safari extension installed. Look in the /Home/Library/Safari/Extensions/ folder for the offending plug-in and delete it.

I have an MacBook Pro 10.6, using disk utility I tried to verify my disk, but it came up with the message, please use your start up disk, I tried this, starting the computer up and pressing C, but it ejected the disk, the same thing happened while I running the computer. Is the hard drive damaged as laptop doesn't seem to recognize the start up disk ? If so, I presume I will have to put in a new one.
There haven't been any problems with the computer, apart from a sticky curser,I have run a permissions programme from disk utility, there were a lot of different ones, but it seem to be able to fix them.
Any comments or ideas ?

Next to startup from the disk, have it inserted, hold c or option/alt (wired or built in keyboard) and then boot the computer and or select the disk when it appears and click the arrow.
Disk Utility is under the Utilities menu on the second screen.

Camera Raw will not install on my mac,os 10.7.5. When I click on the install package the main install screen opens and that is as far as I can proceed with the down load. Appreciate your help Ian and others. I have since uninstalled FCS and reinstalled FCXP only to get the same thing. Loading FCXP stalls at "Looking for Compressor Support". When I first downloaded FCXP from the App store I didn't notice that FCS was being placed in it's own folder. It's not something I did manually. Although moved into it's own folder with FCXP on the same drive. I was not able to open FCS apps. They would load and then "quit unexpectantly". They opened just fine before I downloaded FCXP. Do I need to purchase Compressor so that FCXP recognizes it? It seems this is where it stalls. It doesn't explain however why my computer "FREEZES" while doing this. I am in the process of re-installing Lion to see if this helps, otherwise I am at a complete loss.

When I cull through my images in the filmstrip everytime I use my right arrow and rate a photo it jumps back to the first thumbnail and i have to arrow all the way back to where I left off. Is this a setting issue

I am trying to follow your very precise steps, and in my case (PSE11 also, Win7), the focus stays on the edited picture after I return from the editor to the Organizer. I am pretty sure that in the previous post describing your situation, I was able to reproduce the problem, but I don't remember on which version. I just tried in 'Folders' view mode to edit in a selected folder, then I clicked 'All media' so that no folder was selected. Same result in both cases.
Even if you prefer to work in folders view, you could take advantage of the ability to use 'albums'. It's a misleading word to describe a selection, a 'collection' of pictures, which you can sort as you want. It's a kind of 'playlist' like with music items. In the organizer, you can select a folder and create an album (even a temporary one) just by choosing 'create instant album'. Suppose you have made an album from a folder or a selection of highlighted pictures to edit. You can order them in date order, import batch or 'custom' order'. Since PSE12 you can also sort them in filename order. You should never lose the 'focus' on your last edited picture when coming back from the editor to the organizer. If the purpose of that album is only to help in organizing an editing session, you simply delete the album (the playlist) if you don't want to keep the list afterward.
I hope someone will be able to confirm how that can happen...

Every time I close a document on Pages the software crashes and I have to force quit. Then I restart the program and all the docs that were up at the time of the crash reappear. I haven't lost any work yet but it's super annoying to have to restart everytime I try to close a doc. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Downloads used to open after download. NOw they just end up in the download folder and I have to go to the folder to find it and open it. I did not change seettings, maybe an update changed it? I cannot find a way to change this in settings.

For the past week or so, Firefox has been freezing multiple times per day. Each time, I have to force quit the program. I tried resetting the plug-ins and add-ons and things, I uninstalled and re-installed Adobe Flash Player, and I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox itself--none of these things has worked. I really don't want to stop using Firefox, but it is currently unusable. Can someone help?

I have written a book with the ibooks application and I have gone through the process of publishing it through itunes to the itunes book store. Everything seems to work and i get to the end of the process and get a big green check. However, what now? How do I check to see if it actually got through to the book store or not?

its pretty much as easy as the question in the title bar, my fiancee has deleted iphoto by accident.
I didnt get any disk with the computer when i got it (its a macbook - the white model, ive had it nearly 2 years) and i know this for sure because the box and all enclosed papers are in my home office, ive checked through and looked online and found something about a download code that some people get if the software is already on the computer... i dont know how true it is, but then again I dont seem to have a code either.
If anyone has a clue please let me know - in all honesty I really like this app and I hate the idea that I may not get it again just because of something silly like an accidental deletion when i've essentially paid for the product in the cost of the macbook.
Sorry to get long winded on you all but there it is - hope someone can help me - and if ive posted anything to the wrong place im sorry! be gentle folks, its my first time on the community boards!
MikeWhat system did the Mac come with and what system are you running now? If it's 2 years old, i.e. bought in 2010 then it came with Leaport or Snow Leopard installed and would have had install disks. Included in those disk would be a disk similar to one of these:
That would have included iPhoto 8 (09) if bought before October 20, 2010 or iPhoto 9 (11) if bought after that date. In either case you should have a disk like in the screenshot. If not then you'll have to purchase an iLIfe 11 boxed disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11 and install your missing applications from it and then apply the latest updaters from the Apple Downloads web page/

I am running Windows XP and I have an iPhone 4, but ever since 5 days ago I cannot even open up iTunes without it freezing my PC. This happens with our without the phone plugged in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes in the correct order and still it is happening. Can anyone help with what might have changed in my PC settings? TIA
You could try wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the OS and all your programs.
Did you install any programs yesterday?
If not it may be best to take it to an Apple care center and have it checked out. Take it in while it is asleep so you ccan show then what is happening. -
When I connect my MacBook to my television using Apple TV the audio stays on the MacBook and doesn't transfer to the TV. How can I make it so I can hear the Movie or Video through my TV's speakers and not my MacBook's?
This is called "extended desktop mode". It's an extension of the desktop off to the right (by default) of your MBair screen. Grab an app and drag it off the right side of your MBair screen and it will appear on the TV.
To mirror your MBair screen on the TV you can press Command F1. This will toogle between mirror and extended desktop.
You can find all the settings in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement tab.

I constantly have to restart my computer to get my iTunes to open. Does anyone know of a solution?
Here are the two ways that I run apps as admin in Win 7. Would recommend trying the first method to see if it works before you use the second method.
First: I use this one if I only need to do it occasionally (you may find this way tedious after a few days). Right click on iTunes and the context menu will pop up. Click on "Run as administrator" then another popup will open asking you to confirm if you want to allow iTunes to have admin privilleges (this happens every time any app requests higher privelliges), choose yes and if our issues are the same iTunes should load.
Second: The semi-permenant method, again I'd say try the other method first to see if this will work for you. Right click on iTunes like before but choose Properites, then go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom you have the ability to give iTunes admin privilleges every time it loads. Check that box, then click apply then OK. You will still see the box I mentioned earlier (I can't get a screen shot of it) asking if its ok to run with higher rights, but this way is a couple of clicks less.
