BT Sport. Have I just been conned into new contrac...

Today, I received a mail saying my bt sport free subscription was bue to end in late September and if I wanted to keep it, I would need to renew my bt broadband contract for 12 months.
Fair enough, I like bt sport so decided to renew. Now Ive been sent confirmation of my NEW contract starting today and not late september when it was due to end.
Shouldnt the renewal have been from the renewal date in september and not today?

If they do start charging you more sooner (by ending a discount early) then they are going against their own terms. The following is from the BT Sport legal stuff and I think applies to renewing in order to qualify for BT Sport.

You never know they might let you discuss a new 12 month deal which would still qualify you for free BT Sport but possibly on a better price/discount.
It might even be worth just phoning the Customers Options Team on 0800 800 030 and explaining your situation. You never know they might be in a generous mood.

    I admit that java is a good programing language and I have nothing against it but what is it's use????
    When you create a java application, it will ONLY run on your computer or on a computer with java installed whereas with other programing languages i.e. C++ VB ... ... ... ... , the applications are .exe files and will run on any computer and instead of having to go through command prompt all the time, you just double click on them.
    So what I am asking is why we learn JAVA and how we can use java apart from applets???

    First, those ".exe languges" which allow you to execute the programs whit a clic, Can be executed in another platform?. Ofcourse not.     Second It's quiet easy in Windows, or another O.S. To create a short cut that, with your lovely double clic, or with a single clic in Linux, executes a Java application. This can be done maually by the user or by the application during it's instalations, so man, don't worry: you can execute java applications with a double clic .
    P.D: rigth now I'm employing, as every day in my work, Windows 2000. I don't hate Windows, but I know it's not the unique option, and there are plenty of cases where chosing this O.S. is a big error, as there are others where it's a good option, but never the unique.

    The genius bar folks will be glad to help...and if you have backed up your iPhone in iCloud they will restore the backup to the replacement iPhone for you while you wait.
    Call or email for an appointment, you don't want to add to your frustration by standing around waiting for someone to get free to help you.

    Yes, they should sync. Check the Watch app on the iPhone and look at Calendar - make sure it's set to Mirror my phone
    If it still doesn't work, reset the Watch, restart the phone and re-pair the Watch - fixes a few glitches

    Ever since I installed FireFox 4, I seem to have lost the function of my bookmarks. They simply open up Bing Searches for those sites. I don't even like Bing, why does it keep getting installed into my Firefox?

    I think an add-on has hijacked your browser. If this started with Firefox 4, are you sure you installed the official package from http://www.mozilla.com/ ?
    In past threads similar to this, people mentioned a Zugo Search Bar, but I haven't dug into it deeply.

    Next, try starting Firefox in Firefox
    [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.
    Does running Firefox without add-ons fix it?
    If so, you could disable them all and then gradually restore the ones that are most valuable to you.
    If not, there might be some external software intercepting Firefox's communications.

    It is readily possible to see what keywords have been assigned to a particular photo or group of photos by looking at the Keywording panel in Library view. But there is no corresponding tool to see what collections, if any, a photo or group of photos have been assigned to. The only way I know to do it is to try to add the selected photo(s) to a collection -- if this fails, they must already be in that collection.
    If the photo(s) have been wrongly assigned to some other collection(s) the only way to find out is to search for them each collection to see if they are there.
    I would like to see a Collections panel in the Library view, similar to the one for keywords.

    This sort of things has been asked by me and others before.
    b Workaround:
    I have solved this, sort of, if you want them only in one Collection, by putting the name of the Collection as the Label Text in Metadata. If you do want one in more than one Collection , I make Virtual Copies and label the copies separately. Of course this also lets you give the copies in different Collections different treatments, too.

  • How do I know I'm accessing my complimentary amount of iCloud that came from somewhere and have not just set up a new paid account on my new iPhone?

    Hmm, thought that field was all I got to type in.  First post here, sorry.
    Some time ago, a techie set up something that gave me a complimentary amount of iCloud to go with my iMac.  Maybe that went with the wireless box I got? I guess it works.  I just got a new iPhone and was just encouraged to sign in to (activate?) iCloud, which I did and the settings now identify my email address in iCloud.  I want to know if doing this will access the complimentary account or is it actually signing me up to a new paid account for iCloud.  Which I don't want.
    I've already had two emails over the last couple of months from "Apple", completely without identification or logo telling me I will need to pay for an iCloud account.  No idea what that was about. Thought it was phishing, actually.  Contacted Apple through this website, I think. No reply.
    Anyway, I just want my free iCloud "place" to synch my iMac, iPad and now my iPhone.  Don't need more space.  Don't need more emails from "apple."  Are things safely going to my complimentary iCloud account?

    b) to restore/recover the instance into the aux
    c) voilà: table can be accessed.
    Is there maybe a more simpler (and not that space consuming) way via
    a) transportable tablespace
    b) "transportable table"
    c) table restore into aux
    d) ???
    btw: RMAN settings are fine, Backup is on tape, restore/recover is possible... :-)

    It would be easier to answer such questions,if you wouldn't hide your database version. Because of 'Transportable Tablespaces' it seems to be higher than Oracle 6.
    TSPITR (Tablespace Point-in-Time Recovery) seems to be the most appropriate way, it uses transportable tablespaces in the background. No need to restore a whole database in such a case.

  • Have I been conned.

    I've been with BT for 40 years and always had a basic package of line rental and full rate for all calls. 
    A few years ago I signed up for free evening & weekend calls which were to be included in the line rental.  No problems until now.  I was sent a letter in May saying my current contract was due to expire 23 June 2010 but I needed to take no action if I wanted to continue - so far so good!! However my last 2 bills have omitted to apply my £2. 99 credit to reduce my bill to £12.79 for line rental. Today I rang up see why - first I was told it was because they couldn't be sure I was going to renew my contract so couldn't give me the £ 2.99 credit because if I didn't renew I would have to pay it back - why would I have had to pay it back if my contract didn't end until June.  Then I was transferred to 'billing' and was told that my contract expired May 15 2010 and as I hadn't renewed I was now being charged for my free evening & weekend package.  I read out the letter I had received stating my contract didn't end until 23 June and that I didn't need to do anything to continue but was told the date on 'the computer' was 15 May so I was wrong - the letter was wrong!!!! I was then told if I 'signed up'  for another year I would get my credits of £2.99 backdated so back to £12.79 a month.
     I was also offered a further reduction on my line rental to £11.54 which I was told was a special offer only for a year but now I'm worried because reading on the website the rate of £11.54 is for 'paperless billing which I certainly DON'T WANT!!!!!! So I hope I haven't been conned into thinking I'm getting a reduction when in fact I've been signed up for paperless billing WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I'm already on direct debit which I didn't want - it's wrong to penalise people who just want a paper bill and then to pay in cash.

    Not photos, just data synced with iCloud shown in Settings>iCloud.  If you don't have sufficient storage to back up to iCloud, back up to your computer instead using iTunes (connect you phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to ths Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now).  Also transfer your purchases to your iTunes library (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If you have photo stream photos older than 30 days tha you wan to save, save these to your camera roll before backing up (tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward facing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
    When setting up your new phone, when given the option choose Restore from iTunes Backup and restore the backup you made earlier.

    If you had stored your catalog files on an external drive, then all you have to do is double-click on them to open them and use them.
    Or you could move them to the internal drive and double-click on them once the move is completed.
    To create a single catalog file from multiple ones, you could use File->Import from Another Catalog

    In what format did you import the cds?

    You need to be installing iOS 6.1.3, the latest version.
