BTYahoo! Email IMAP - Problem saving messages in S...

I have been using BTYahoo! email with IMAP for several years now. One problem that I never used to have has become more and more regular over the last six months or so. It is now at the point where I get this problem 95% of the time when sending messages.
When I send a message it seems to get sent ok, but there is then a problem with saving a copy in the Sent folder. Almost every time it will trigger an alert in my e-mail client (currently Thunderbird) saying that the message could not be saved in the Sent folder. This alert appears after a short time-out limit is reached. At this point clicking the option to retry usually works, but sometimes it will just fail repeatedly and I have to cancel the attempt to save a copy.
I have tried a different e-mail client program but got a similar error alert about not being able to save a copy in the Sent folder. To me that implies it is a problem with either my BTYahoo! email client settings or the server-side system.
I'm using the same IMAP settings that I had used without issue for a long time.
imap.mail.yahoo.com - port 993 - SSL/TLS (normal password)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com - port 465 - SSL/TLS (normal password)
I have tried changing the outgoing server to that below but it doesn't solve the problem.
mail.btinternet.com - port 465 - SSL/TLS (normal password)
My questions are:-
Has anybody else experienced a similar problem?
Is anybody aware of any recent IMAP settings change that I need to apply to solve this?

I appreciate the message is successfully sent first, but I can't just ignore it as I need to have a copy retained in my Sent folder for my records.
Possibly the BTYahoo! servers that handle that function are much slower to respond now? I'll see if I can increase the time-out limit in Thunderbird. There is no time-out problem sending messages, just when saving the copy.
Once in a blue moon I don't get the error message but there is still no copy saved in the Sent folder. That is very annoying when it happens. Luckily that is still a very rare occurrence currently.
I'm really trying to establish whether this is a problem caused by my PC set up, or whether it's a problem with BTYahoo! email and there is nothing I can do at my end to fix it.

Lion Mail IMAP Persistently "Saving Message..."

I have had IMAP working for awhile with my ISP over SSL. Recently one of my IMAP acounts started to do that constant circle thing in the Mailboxes list and never updates any new mail. I get new mail fine on my iPhone with the same settings. I changed to stop the SSL and now email syncs, but I am still getting this weird message. When I click on Mail Activity I see it says "Saving Message...." 0 of 0 and Zero KB/s. Click the X doesn't make it go away and restart Mail doesn't either.
Any ideas? Is there a particular message that is causing this problem? How do I determine that?

Thank you! I was having the exact same issue and this solved my problem! I can add that you can reach the contents of the folder without using the terminal, by pressing ShiftCommandG (go to folder) and the writing the path to the hidden .OfflineCache folder of the mailbox you are stuck with. Then from the finder you can delete the contents of the folder.

New update Iso7 created a app called (messages saved ) It is consuming space on all my devices. Go into general-usage-see all apps and usage. I have app now called message saved. I can't delete it. So have been playing with this problem saved messages in usage.
I restored all settings and content on my iPhone 5 so I have a out of box iPhone with iCloud singed in. I go to messages usage 700kb. So I send a video message to my group of friends, the app usage went to 5.5mb. So I go back to Messages app, tapped and held the video > tap more> delete all, from the top left corner. Checked my usage its 1.3mb still up not sure how to clear all message data usage.
By swiping the message conversation does not delete any of the content, you have to go in to the conversation and delete all to get your space back. If you have already deleted the conversation I am not sure how you can delete message content without a restore of phone. I did see there is software to remove the message content not sure if it works. I did do a back up before I started to remove the 6gb of message usage. In iTunes preferences > devices> right click> show in finder> expand folder and i removed some of the data that was there from messages app. Backup wouldn't work once I removed some of the message documents.
To sum this up. Sharing Photos and video with friends use photo sharing rather that messages, plus your photo and video will be as clear as if they were taken with your phone. Don't forget don't delete conversation but delete content in the conversation.

Exactly as stated. For example, opened Email today, was saving messages to appropriate archives, and discovered that two boxes were missing - poof - from a critical business account. This is intolerable, and has happened in the past. Can it be fixed, or need I get rid of Thunderbird?

ok sorry everyone but i solved it myself but the solution is so nuts i've posted it here to help others who have the same problem.
to setup a comcast imap account on your iphone:
go to mail, contacts, etc in settings
under accts, select add account
select "other"
new screen, choose "add mail account"
now on the new acct screen you must enter your name, email address and password for your GMAIL acct ! (yes i said your gmail acct !, or some other acct with a NON comcast address).
hit next
then the acct verifies
when verified a screen will open with all the acct settings for this acct AND @ the top of the screen are the 2 buttons > imap or POP
select imap and THEN CHANGE ALL THE ACCOUNT information to the comcast account !
then hit next and the account will take a couple minutes to verify but it will verify and now you have a comcast imap acct set up on your iphone. The problem must be that when the iphone sends the initial verify acct info to comcast (if you enter that information first) the comcast server is simply not setup yet to signal the iphone that there is an imap option.

I have an iPad 3, iPad Mini and iPhone 5S and they are all sluggish on capitalisation using shift keys. I hope that Apple will solve the problem because it is driving me crazy.
I find using a Microsoft Surface and Windows 8 phone, which I also have, work as well as all the ios devices before the ios 7 upgrade.
It has something to do with the length of time that you need to hold the shift key down. The shift key needs to be held longer than the letter key for the capitalisation to work. For some reason, this is a major change in the way we have learnt to touch type on computers. I am having to relearn how to type!

My iPad 2 does exactly the same thing. But I just have to go on to my wifi options and you can either forget this network and then press it again or you can turn wifi off and on again and press that wifi.

When bookmark with Firefox I get an error message that Google has a problem saving the bookmark. Whay are FF bookmarks being saved to Google?

The email server you are using to send mail through requires the password, if any is required it needs to be set in the location that I pointed out in the earlier post.
It is usually the same password you use for receiving emails.
I don't use either Facebook or Twitter so I am not sure how to help with those.

Problem saving sent messages - suite 4.88 phone 63...

Appologies if this has already been raised, had a good search
but could not find anything quite the same.
No problem connecting the phone via blue tooth, saving my phone book, saving my received txt messages, but....
I am having real problems saving any sent messages that I have saved to my 'outbox'.
In the past I have manged to save some of the messages in the outbox, now no joy, none of the messages are displayed, although
there are no errors!
Just saved two more short messages to my outbox, and I CAN see and copy these, but where are the other 20+ ????
Tried moving messages into other folders like 'Archive' but these don't even appear!
Is there a limit to the size of txt messages that can be transfered? Other entries hint that there may be an issue.
Is there any other SW out there that I could use instead?
Note, using 4.88 as this appears to be the latest release supported with the 6310i.

I am using Nokia 3110. And using latest version of pc suite.
I also have the same problem.
I have checked the setting from phone of save sent messages as it ticked as yes.
Phone is storing msgs sent from phone not storing the messages sent from pc suite.
I am sure this is a software problem.
Nokia should check this problem with responsibility. This is quite necessery option which should allow.

Btyahoo email problems

Hi, is anyone else having problems with btyahoo email in the past 2 hours? im on ie10, windows 7 ultimate and use webmail. in the past 2 hours yahoo have started to mess with the system by adding a preview pane, which has slowed the email down, I cant even get to open or read any emails. to add to this all other webpages have gone extra slow, tried facebook, twitter, youtube and all are struggling really badly. what is happening? have BT broke the internet ? it's getting to be annoying now because its problem after problem with bt and I think if we all started emailing bbc watchdog we might get some answers from the idiots at the top who sit there counting how much tax they have avoided paying !!! its even took me 30 mins to write this post its that slow

Yes. Intermittent problems reported by my email client, Outlook, collecting email using POP. All on BTinternet accounts and none on Yahoo accounts so I suspect that the problem is the Critical Path (what is that company called now?) servers.
