Bubble graph - set max bubble size?

Hi
How can I set a max/min size for bubbles in a bubble graph? As users filter data sets the bubbles grow so large that the graph is hard to read. I would hope the API allows me to set these and let the graph code figure out the relative sizes within these bounds.
thanks
John

Hi RC,
may be you can add a legend view to your report to give some extra info?

    Is there a way to set max fetch size on application module level, rather then setting it for every view object separately? I don't want to allow any of my view objects in application module to fetch more then 1000 rows.

    Hi,
    Tools-->... contains option for setting rows in batches of... , but doesn't contain option for setting max fetch size. I guess I'll have to do it in implementation class for view objects... Thanks anyway

  • How to set  max-heap-size outside the jnlp file?

    Due to bug_id=6631056 It may not be possible to specify max-heap-size within
    the JNLP file for certain jnlp java applications.
    Are there other possibilities to specify this Jvm parameter?
    In the ControlPanel there is the possibility to specify Xmx for applets but not for jnlp.
    I have tried to add properties like
    "deployment.javaws.jre.0.args=Xmx\=128M" without success
    Many thanks

    Even in JNLP also you can specify the max heap size
    <j2se version="1.5+" initial-heap-size="128m" max-heap-size="512m"/>

  • How to dynamically set max-rss size for a local zone?

    Running solaris 10 05/08.
    Following situation: Three local zones in a Veritas cluster. The zones
    can fail over but normally not all three are on the same physical box.
    I want to be able to restrict physical memory usage for the zones in
    situations where certain combinations of them end up on the same
    physical box. So, I need to be able to dynamically change memory
    resources. I know how to do this with, for example locked memory:
    prctl -n zone.max-locked-memory -r -v <mem> `pgrep -z <zone name>
    init`
    but i need to do this for physical memory and I can't see that there
    is a zone resource for this? I thought this was added in 05/08?

    Hi
    You can do this by using rcapd from the global zone
    - start rcapd from the global zone:
    svcadm enable svc:/system/rcap:default
    - set a physical memory caping value for each zone
    rcapadm -z your_zone -m max_rss_value
    - check the memory use for all the zone capped
    rcapstat -gz
    You can set the rss capping value in the zone configuration:
    # zonecfg -z your_zone
    zonecfg:busi-app-prod> add capped-memory
    zonecfg:busi-app-prod:capped-memory> set physical=900m
    zonecfg:busi-app-prod:capped-memory> end
    zonecfg:busi-app-prod> verify
    zonecfg:busi-app-prod> commit
    zonecfg:busi-app-prod> exit
    This will be take in account at the next reboot of this zone.
    Have a also a look to rcapadm to tune rcapd
    Bye

  • Setting MAX message size

    Hello-
    I am using Sun ONE MQ 3.5. I have a need to send large messages in some rare instances. One such message is about 20MB. Potentially, these messages could be of any size however.
    I have set the following properties in my config.properties and restarted the imq broker
    imq.system.max_count=-1
    imq.system.max_size=-1
    imq.log.level=DEBUG
    imq.message.max_size=-1
    However, when I attempt to send a message of this size, I get the following error in my imqbroker logs:
    [08/Jul/2004:09:23:12 CDT] WARNING [B2011]: Storing of JMS message from IMQConn[AUTHENTICATED,[email protected]:1216,jms:1193] failed:
    com.sun.messaging.jmq.jmsserver.util.BrokerException: [B4122]: Can not store message 10-10.1.1.65(de:a1:a5:c4:67:27)-1216-1089296592204 on destination directDestination35 [Queue] because the packet size of 19475250 bytes is larger than the message limit of 10485760 bytes.
    The size, according to this, is most definitely not unlimited. I can compress these files before adding them to the message body, but there is still the potentially that even a compressed file can exceed this 10MB limit. Also, I can devise an alternate route over sockets or something, but that complicates the solution quite a bit and I'd rather not.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    troy

    Troy,
    Try using 0 as the imq.system.max_size property.
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-5922-10/imq_sys.html#37368
    I know that this used to be the "no limit" value and I think you are correct that it changed to -1. However I just checked the maual for 3.5 and on page 134 it still seems to say that 0 means "no limit".
    Hope this helps!

    For dispatcher nodes it's sufficient to set the heap size to 171m on 32 bit and to 256m on 64 bit platforms. There is no need to apply the parameters mentioned under 4-9 below.

  • Set max capture length?

    Greetings All.
    From what I've read so far, it looks like there is no way to set a maximum capture limit (clip size) in iMovieHD. Is this correct?
    The imovie.plist file no longer has the AutoSceneDetectMaxBytes variable. If so, this is not good! I generally prefer to burn raw imported DV clips to DVD for archival purposes. Hence, I'd like to set max clip size to 2^32 bytes for quick an easy burns to single-layer DVD disks.
    The only reasonable work-around I've found so far is to split the single gigantic clip into multiple smaller clips and export each clip as dv. Then burn. Or I suppose I could go back to iMovie4. Glad large HDs are cheap.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    You are correct, there is no way to set max clip size.
    Almost any backup software package will be able to span large files across mutiple discs. I use Retrospect from http://www.dantz.com/

  • SSRS 2008 Bubble chart - How to set the default bubble size?

    Hi,
    I have a bubble chart. I want to set the size of the bubble in the chart and the size of the bubble in the legend display box to be same. I increased the size of the marker to increase the size of the bubble in the legend display box but it is not increasing
    after 8pt. In my chart the size of the bubble is not dependent on any variable or parameter. It is the default size. Is there any way that i can make the size of both the bubble same?

    Hi Alok_Aswal,
    In SQL Server Reporting Services 2008, the Bubble chart has several custom attributes which allow us to control the size of the bubbles. "BubbleMaxSize" and "BubbleMinSize" attributes allow us to define the size of the bubble in the chart series. The values
    set are in percent of the whole chart size. We can find those attributes in the property pane by selecting bubble series and expanding 'CustomAttributes' properties.
    And based on my research, the Marker size has a wide range, but for some reason once we get to around 8 the bubble in the legend will not grow any bigger. So in your scenario, we can set the Marker size to 8pt, then set the appropriate “BubbleMaxSize" and
    "BubbleMinSize" based on the chart size to make the size of both the bubble are the same. For example, we can also set “BubbleMaxSize" and "BubbleMinSize" to 8, then manually adjust the chart size until both the bubbles have same size.
    Beside, we can delete the original legend, and drag a tablix to the right of the chart. And then insert the corresponding data and color to tablix to let it looks like a legend. For more details information, you can refer to the link below to see Mike’s

  • Setting the step size of the scale in a graph

    I have a bar graph with floating point/decimal values. OBI automatically set the scale numbers/ticks on the y axis has to : 0.0%, 9.9%, 19.8, 29.7%, 39.6%, 49.5% and 59.4%.
    I would like to have nice and even steps of 0.5%, but it seems like I cannot influence this anywhere.
    The Axis Limits are set to Dynamic because I do not know in advance what the minimal and maximal values will be.
    The only way to be sure of a constant step size is by defining the min and max axis limits and then setting the major and minor ticks. But since I don't know the min and max in advance, this is not an option.
    Anybody any ideas on how to set a step size of the scale?

    Anybody any clue?

  • Setting max bean pool size in MDB

    Hi,
    I need to set the max bean pool size for my MDB to 1. This MDB is a part of my application and is packaged in an ear.
    I tried to set it with the following annotation -
    import javax.ejb.*;
    @MessageDriven
    (mappedName = "MyQueue",
    name = "MyMDB",
    activationConfig = {
    @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName="maxBeansInFreePool",
    propertyValue="1"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName="initialBeansInFreePool",
    propertyValue="1"),
    @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue")
    However, this does not seem to work since I see the Current pool count on the WLS console as 3 after processing is done.
    After looking at various posts in this forum, I also tried it with weblogic ejbgen as follows-
    import weblogic.ejbgen.*;
    @MessageDriven(ejbName = "MyMDB",
    destinationType = "javax.jms.Queue",
    initialBeansInFreePool = "1",
    maxBeansInFreePool = "1",
    destinationJndiName = "MyQueue")
    However, with this the MDB did not get deployed in WLS.
    I am using Weblogic 10.3 / EJB 3.0.
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Meera

    As far as I know, it currently isn't possible to set max-beans-in-free-pool via annotations. You can use a deployment plan (configurable from console and/or follow the link supplied by atheek1).
    I think you can also automatically generate descriptors based on javadoc text via ejb-gen, I'm not quite sure if this tooling can work in conjunction with EJB 3.0 annotations. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/ejb/EJBGen_reference.html

  • Setting System-Wide Max Heap Size

    We want to set the heap-size of Java-Plugin 1.5.0_14 for a company-wide rollout to a fixed size under Windows XP.
    In deployment.config under C:\Winnt\Sun\Java\deployment I am giving this:
    deployment.system.config=file:C:\\WINNT\\Sun\\Java\\Deployment\\deployment.properties
    deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    In the respective deployment.properties I am giving
    #deployment.properties
    deployment.cache.max.size=50m
    deployment.javapi.jre.1.5.0_14.args=-Xmx256m -Xms75m
    While the cache-parameter is taking effect (visible in the Java Control Panel) there is no change in the Max Heap Size.
    Any idea how this could be achieved?
    Thank you
    Michael

    MaxHeapSize I determine with Runtime.getRuntime().maxMemory()
    Setting it manually in the javacpl via -Xmx works fine but....
    Problem is that we do not want each user to open his Java Control Panel and set this value manually.
    May be error prone and difficult to communicate in a scenario where you have hundreds of users in different locations, countries etc.
    Should be possible to set this value once installing the Java Plugin
    Thank You

  • Strange: Mac screen menu-bar requires max-heap-size to be set.

    I planned to omit the max-heap-size attribute in the line of my jnlp file
    <j2se version="1.6+" max-heap-size="256m" />
    The idea was that with Java 1.6 the heap size is set automatically
    according to the client's RAM.
    Unfortunately, the Macintosh screen menu-bar works if and only if the max-heap-size attribute is present.
    It is a MacOsX=1.4 with Java1.5.
    Strange, since the Mac runs Java 1.5 and I am talking about settings for 1.6.
    The jnlp passed ValidateJNLP at http://mindprod.com/jgloss/jnlp.html#VALIDATION
    Here is another post stating that attributes in JNLP have side effects on Mac's screen menu-bar:
    http://lists.apple.com/archives/Java-dev/2008/Jul/msg00122.html
    Here is my jnlp:
    w3m -dump http://www.bioinformatics.org/strap/strap.jnlp
    Is there an explanation for this?

    The error might still be in the Sun's code.Could be. But to fix the Mac VM it would require the following.

    2. Fix it in the Sun VM.
    3. Move the changes to the Mac VM...somehow.
    >
    If the jdk would be smaller, less redundant and clearer, then
    open JDK could be possibly compiled on a Mac.
    Not sure what that means since there are likely OS level calls that must be implemented in some place in the API. Which are specific to Mac.
    Just as there are differences between windows/solaris/linux which Sun accounted for.
    And that would be what Apple would have done to make it work on Mac. And what someone (someone who likes Mac) will need to continue to do with the public release (explusion?) which is the form that Java will have going forward.
    The main thing that should be improved on a Macintosh
    is to directly allow for Linux and Solaris executables such that the Linux JDK could directly work on a Mac.The main thing, again, is the Apple is no longer supporting Java on the Mac.
    And Apple, not Sun and certainly not Oracle, were the ones that created the Java VM.
    So the main thing at this point is that ALL future directions that Java take are dependent not on Apple but on the Macintosh community. That includes features as well as fixes.

  • How to set default max cache size in win 2003 terminal server

    Hi! I have a win 2003 terminal server, with 50+ user accounts, the problem is that the cache for firefox is never cleared, how do I set a apropriate (ie 50MB) max cache size for all users? As it is today, I have certain users with several millions of cahe files, which slows everything down.
    firefox is 8.01 English version.

    Hey Macdaddy,
    This happens all the time with our server at work. The server window never opens in the same place twice, and it can be annoying.
    There are third-party window management tools out there, but what I did was use a macro program called Keyboard Maestro (since I already owned it).
    Among the many things Keyboard Maestro can do is manipulate a window. I created a macro that moves it to a specific point (in my case, the upper left corner of the screen) and then resizes it to a specific width and height in pixels. I then assigned the macro a keyboard shortcut.
    Now, when I mount the server, I can use the keyboard shortcut and the window is right where I want it.
    There are other programs that just move windows, and I tried a couple. But Keyboard Maestro is more elegant in my opinion, and it does a whole lot more if you choose to go that route.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to set the page size and the margins programatically

    Hello,
      I am working with crystal report XI Release2 and asp.net.
    One of my report is having 4 graphs in a single report.In order to display all the graphs in one page i have set  the paper size as A3.(Via Crysta report ->File->Page set up)
    But the page size A3 is not provided by all printers.So problem comes when the application is diployed on a machine which does not support A3 Printer.All the graphs will not be shown on a single page.
    Also Each and Every time ,when the application is diployed on a machine,user has to open the crystal report and adjust the page size accordingly to get all the reports on a single page.
    This is a kind of usability issue also.
    Is it possible to set the page size and the margins programatically say for eg 11 X 17.so that with out doing anything all the 4 graphs will get displayed on a single page ?
    Please let me know if you require more information regarding this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ludek,
    i could solve the issue by using the follwing code.
    report = new ReportDocument();
    PageMargins customPageMargin = report.PrintOptions.PageMargins;
    report.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait;
    report.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.Paper10x14;
    customPageMargin.rightMargin = 1;
    customPageMargin.topMargin = 0;
    customPageMargin.bottomMargin = 0;

  • Set Fixed Array Size

    Hello. I am trying to develop a VI for an FPGA target and I'm trying to make it so whoever is using the VI can specify the size of an input array when they instantiate it (such as by having an input to the VI that says "max array size" or something). So far it seems like the only way to do something like this is to go into the VI itself and manually set the array size for each input array for the VI (i.e. open the VI, right click on each input array, select "Set Dimension SIze", choose "fixed", set number of elements). I'd like to have one point where I can set the size of all the arrays at once (since in my case they are all the same size), and let the person using the VI set it to the proper size for whatever application they are using it for (to be clear, let's say I have two uses for this VI, and in one case I have an input array of size 100 and in anohter use of size 1000, I'd like to be able to set these somehow instead of doing it through the dialog). Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Unfortunately, per-call configuration of array size is not something that is supported today. This is a great idea, I would suggest that you post it on the FPGA Idea Exchange so we can get a feel for how many other people need this same feature.
