BUG: Ghost New Posts appear in My Subscriptions...?

As suggested by Host Kady, we are now extracting Bugs and Enhancements from our consolidation threads, and re-posting them individually.

My Subscriptions details the presence of some new/updated posts, but when that thread is visited, there are no new/updated posts to be seen.

Forum Bug regarding not seeing new posts

I've posted this here as many users are reporting forum issues where they will get a notification of a new post made to a thread but they cannot see it.
This is a forum bug which Apple is aware of... and are trying to resolve but in the meantime here are two (somewhat impractical) fixes i have found...
1) Open the forum on a different Mac or Apple device and the posts will show up... Go back to the original Mac or Apple device and they will not appear unless you make a new post in that thread yourself... after the missing posts.
2) Post a new reply and then any posts made prior to your new reply will show up
It is not a cookie related problem as cleaning out the cookies does not fix the issue Its odd as if this is the case then how is this bug only specific to one Mac? Something must be tracking something, somehow but it doesn't appear to be via cookies....
Quiting and restarting Safari nor restarting your Mac, doesn't fix it either...
If anyone finds any other workarounds, please post them here....

Yes I know that, but I was referring to another situation where I get a thread notification by mail, I open the thread and do not see the new message, I then sign in et voila here it is. And in my situation this has, until now, always worked.
You have been lucky. I am signed continuously, but still most of the post are missing, when I go to them from an email notification. My "." key is rather worn out by now from using it to force posts to show

How do I make new posts in forums appear in bold font?

In IE and Goggle Chrome new posts in forum sites appear in bold text to stand out form previous posts, e.g. last time I visited the site. How do I make them bold in Foxfire?

At the moment you can't - though it should be possible (if it makes it into the final release) in iOS 5 which will be available sometime in the Autumn. Photos cannot currently be moved between albums on the iPad.
If you sync separate folders from your computer you'll get an album for each of them on the iPad, and you have to sync all the folders/albums that you want together as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad (not including a folder in a sync is the way that you delete it from the iPad).

"My Subscriptions" new post alert problem

Recently I have noticed that the "My Subscriptions" link in Discussions no longer always removes the blue dot indicating new posts in the list of subscribed topics if I have already read the post(s) while browsing through the forum.
This only occurs in the "My Subscriptions" page -- if I browse the forum topic list or click on the "My Subscriptions" link to take me to the topic, those pages do not show any blue dots or "new!" markers.
It doesn't have anything to do with how recently the topic was last posted to; some items already read several days ago are still marked as new on the "My Subscriptions" page while others read more recently are not.
Has anybody else seen this or is it something peculiar to my account?

Cannot create new posting period

Hi,
A customer is unable to create a new posting period for year 2012. The following error message appears: "No matching records found. Period Category (OACP) ODBC-2028. Message 131-133".
SAP version: 8.81
I searched in notes & forums but I couldn't find a solution to this problem.

through Administration->System InitialisationGeneral Settings->Posting Periods->New Period?
if yes, could you please have a look on the OACP table by trying the
select * from oacp
and find out if there is any record?

Just the other day I try to put an event into icalendar but it won't appear on screen. When I go to my iPad and iPhone the "New Event" appears on these but I can't see where to add info on my MacBook Pro. Can anyone help?

Just this week I am unable to see info I am trying to add to my iCalendar. But when I look at my iPad and iPhone the "New Evnt" appears. Because it doesn't look like there is anything on my MacBook Pro can't enter appointments. Any help is appreciated.

This can be caused by a number of issues.
Was everything working and then suddenly stopped??
Or is this a new clean setup and has never worked.
Do you have a cable modem which is not a router and the TC setup in bridge? That will cause it. The TC must be in router mode, ie dhcp and nat.
Check the IP the MBP gets including dns and gateway..
Then check the ipad/iphone.. post what IP dns and gateway (router in applespeak) they get.

Bug in New Firmware V50.0.005 for Nokia 5800 Xpres...

Hi I am facing some bug in new Firmware V50.0.005
1) In the music library it is not showing any song.(i am having arround 500 songs in memory card)
2) If i try to refresy the library, it will not complete the process. (i.e. continuesly it will show refreshing and i have manuly stoped after 1 hour). and still no songs in all songs list.
3)While playing radio it will hang after some time.(After 15 min to half an hour). you have to restart your phone to close that radio application. (no other go)
If any Solution is there for this please let me know.

For the radio problem, You may have to try to reinstall your firmware, or failing that, you may have to do a reset.
For the music library:
1. Connect your 5800 to you PC in Mass Storage Mode
2. On your PC you will need to have allowed to “Show” hidden files, do this from Explorer/Tools/ Folder Options/ View and select “Show hidden files and Folder”
3. Open your SD memory card/Removable Disk in My Computer on PC
4. Go to E:\ Private there you will see 3 folders 101f8857, 101ffca9 and 10281e17 .
5. Go to Private\101f8857\Cache\E there you will see .dat files. Delete all the .dat file BUT NOT the E Folder. Shown above right
6. Now go to Private\101ffca9 there you will see another .dat file, Delete the dat file NOT the folder.
7. Finally go to Private\10281e17 There you should see 4 files 2 are Mp3 files other are Podcast files. Delete mpxv2_2.db & mpxv2_2.db-journal for Mp3 files list and Delete pcv6_1.db & pcv6_1.db-journal for Podcast files list. Shown above right
8. Close all windows and disconnect your Phone. Go to Music Library and it should automatically start a refresh.

Forum FR: provide a "my new posts" list

A feature request for the forum software:
Would be nice if you could provide a list of all posts that initally where posted (new topic) by me ("my new posts").
It is really difficult to track the questions i have posted in my watches or the recent messages list in my user profile.

Weird ... I understand about Reps & levels being (tempoorarily/temporally) 'ou to lunch' but I am puzzled about posts ...
Many others' counts look OK to me (people I'm familiar with, or would consider 'Peers in Posts', obviously .
I appear to have lost many hundreds - who remembers exactly ? It's not the sort of thing I memorize - But it was more 400 than 40... or 800 than 80.
(I have ca. 600 in my mailbox just from my posts - and just from threads I had email Subs to ... so a 2 digit number is fairly unlikely grin)
Perhaps it'll all sort itself out
(I never did much like the way Posts arbitrarily went Offline, anyway - permanently unavailable to searches - so I'd subscribe via email to have my own copy. This made it easier to explain/answer the same complicated question/problem the next 20 times it got asked after the original dropped off the twig. It's not as if the questions & answers don't remain relevant - in many cases, for years afterwards...)

Email Notification of Reply to New post

Has the new Apple Discussions format stopped notifying a user that their New Post or Question has a reply?
How do I set to get such notice, if that is still a feature?
If that is no longer offered, consider this a "Feature Request".

New Post Link Missing

I am signed in in the HP Support Forum.
I added the forum as a trusted site in my IE 8
I need to post a question about Solution Center and my HP Scanner 5590.
The Help systems says to click on the "New Post" Link near the top of the list.

If I search for "New Post" in the page I get only one match and it is the link for private messages, not for public posts.
What can I do?

Hi SergioTorresC,
The links you have given are to results pages for searches. To make a new post, simply click "Home" at the top left of any forum page. From this page, select the most appropriate location (forum) to post your issue. For example, if your issue is with a Laptop, you want to look in the "Notebook Computers (Laptops)" section for the most appropriate forum, then click the link to enter it.
The new post link will appear at the top left of each of these forum pages once selected.
Be sure to check out this great guide by Daniel_Potyrala for step-by-step information, too!

Facebook app doesn't have all news posts

I don't get all the news posts in facebook app. Anyone else have this?

Pursuant to your request, I opened my Facebook account with my Notebook PC. Then I opened my Facebook account using the Facebook Tablet app in my TP, and finally I opened my Facebook account using the TP's web browser. After comparing all three screens, I saw what you have been seeing. The Facebook Tablet app in my TP was missing news posts from some of my friends.
At first I thought that perhaps it was a time delay or refresh problem with the Facebook Tablet app in my TP, so I had a friend in FL (1200 miles away but in my same time zone) post to me. That post quickly appeared on all 3 of my Facebook screens.
I've noticed that the missing news posts all appear to originate from California, 3 time zones away. Very strange situation that you have discovered, I would blame this screwup on the Democrats running/ruining California.
It gets weirder. As a final test, I opened my California friend's Facebook account wall on all 3 screens above. ONLY the Facebook Tablet app in my TP could NOT display anything newer than 16 days ago.
Resolution of the problem appears to be ...... DO NOT USE THE FLAWED FACEBOOK TABLET APP !!!
Access Facebook ONLY via your TP's web browser.
Shouldn't one of the HP dudes have beta tested this BEFORE the TP went to market ???

Premiere CC 2014.1 bugs in new UI

Is anybody noticed that bugs in new Premiere UI? The first I noticed is when i use bezier curves on audio in track, the line is always strait. It shows curved when the line is near left end screen of timeline, and when you move the clip to the right then is strait again. The secound one is when i use audio effects on audio. The tab in wich is the EQ plugin is messed up and shows half of the plugin. Also the thumbnails in bins must be adjustable in much smaller size as it is now when the slider is all way down to smalest size. This new UI sucks because the fonts are too big when looked on 27" monitor.

There is a known bug in the H.264-Bluray export. I assume it has nothing to do with your issue, but perhaps it will give you something to consider.

It appears due to a malformed xmpses file. It creates a problem on import into Encore, and I think it should do the same upon import into Architect or it would be ignored entirely. The test is to delete the xmpses file and see if that avoids the issue.

Now I get Notifications for Every New Post in Subscribed Topic

I believe this is a change from the old forums. Used to be I would get only one e-mail notification of new posts in a topic to which I was subscribed and would get no more until I revisited the topic (in a logged in state). Now I get an e-mail each time a new post is made even if I haven't visited the topic. This tends to fill up my mailbox when I'm subscribed to a busy topic. Was this a deliberate change for a particular reason?

Possible to make new content appear in text block?

Hi, I am new to iweb and have not yet published the site I've been working on. But I am wondering if there is a way to click on different images on a page and have new information appear in the text block. As it stands now, all I could figure out how to do is make a link to a whole new page that looks the same except for the new information. I am getting to have a whole lot of pages here, haha! Do you have to add a text frame after the whole thing is published? It seems like there should be an easier way...
And speaking of publishing - I am afraid to even try that after reading all the posts of people having their sites completely messed up or un-viewable if not viewed on a mac... Is that a common problem?

Locating New Post Button

Maybe I am doing something wrong as I am unable to locate the "Post New Topic" after I do a search. The only place I see the "Post New Topic" is at the root of the topic. Once I do a search for a particular topic I am able to see the results of my search but if I do not see a topic that I am looking for I am not able to see the new post button.
Should there be a button for new posts after I do a search and also is it possible to insert pictures into a posting?

You will not see the "Post New Topic" link if you're looking at a particular thread, nor will it appear on a Search results page. You have to be at a main topic page, e.g. the Using iTunes for Windows page.

You can include a link to a picture hosted on any publicly-accessible web site. I use ImageShack, but there are many such services if you don't have a web site you can use. For more information on formatting a post, see:
