Bug in new user signup form

I just signed up for an OTN account; I didn't put my city in the address part, and when this error was flagged and I was returned to the form, both the "State/Province" comboboxes had been reset to contain the US states (I am in Australia).

Well, if you don't want to create a list manually, create a sealed management pack that defines the root of the new enumerator. Then create a workflow that will pull all users from AD, build the list of the locations used in AD and update the child enumerators
if required.
Cheers,
Marat

  • Forcing users to select existing properties in New User Request form

    Hi,
    We have just started using Service Manager and Orchestrator.  So far we have successfully managed to create user accounts using orchestrator and service manager.  Now we want to start forcing users to utilise the information we already have in
    our existing Active Directory environment.
    So for example, in the new user request form we want users to select an existing "office" using the attributes already in Active Directory as opposed to allowing them to type in an office and potentially accidentally misspelling the office name.
     What we would like to see is a unique list of offices and a user to select
    How can this be achieved?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Firefox is not handling Skype new user registration properly.

    When I attempt to register a new skype account (on skype.com) I get one of 2 responses. One is that it brings me back to an empty new user registration form, and the other is that it acts like it finished but the user is never actually created. This was duplicated on multiple Intel based mac laptops running 10.6.x on Firefox 4. New user registration works fine in Safari and Chrome on these machines.

    I also have this problem. I cannot open links from a discussion board I frequent nor can I open links from my email. Also after opening my email, I cannot go to any other sites except my home page. I can then go no where else.
    When I close Firefox and try to reopen it, it does nothing! I have to bring up the Task Manager and end the Firefox process before I can get back in.
    To the best of my knowledge, this problem started with the new update to Ver. 3.6.9. I am running Windows XP Media Center 2005

  • If you can't 'Create new user account' - try this!

    Over the last few days I've wasted many hours trying unsuccessfully to create a new user account so I can post to Apple Discussions. Kept going round an endless loop, back to the 'Create New User Account' form. Tried every possible solution I found through internet searches, to no avail.
    The answer, for me, turned out to be simply choosing a different alias - one that nobody else was using, presumably.
    Why, oh why, isn't there an error message that tells you this? It would have saved me so much time and frustration - and many other people too, I'm sure.

    Welcome, finally, to Discussions - you are not the first to complain about this, if you like, you can go to app.com/feedback and register your complain there as well.

  • New User Setups - My Face...

    Oh yeah!  Plus New User setup forms from HR with wrong spelling as well, and you get ahead of the game and go and setup every account they need, login as them to their new machine, an email goes out to all users asking them to welcome the new start, the GAL goes out to all remote Outlook users and everything - then they turn up for work on their first day and call you to say their name is spelt wrong.  Oh the pain, the anger, the postal feeling, then...   ah, the coffee - that's better.....
    And it all begins again.

    when I have to work on a new user setup for a unique snow flake...
    Instead of a common/sane/literate spelled name such as Matthew, I have to create Matthieui
    Or the latest one... Synthia instead of Cynthia.

  • Bug Report: Can't exit system preferences after creating new users

    Setting up a brand new Mac Mini (Late 2014) with Yosemite. (Came installed with Yosemite). I got an i7 version with 16GB of ram and a 256GB solid state drive.
    When I create a new user (either administrator or regular) and then attempt to exit from the "User and Groups" dialog box under "System Preferences" I get an error message that "System Preferences" is busy and that I have to wait. I tried waiting up to 5 minutes and still cannot close the dialog. The only way to kill the dialog box is to use Force Quit under the Apple menu. After killing the dialog with Force Quit, the newly created account DOES seem to work ok. It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes for Yosemite to simply create the default directories for a new account, so something is clearing getting wedged.
    Additional details
    This has occurs every time I try and create a new user (and yes I have Administrator privileges).
    No other applications (either from Apple or other software publishers) have been installed on this mac.
    This occurs whether the new user is set to use an iCloud Password or a Separate Password.
    There IS a live wi-fi connection to the Internet.
    If I create a second administrator account and then login with that account and attempt to create a new user the same thing happens.
    I'm rather shocked to encounter such an obvious bug in the first 5 minutes of using a BRAND NEW Mac.
    Any suggestions for how to fix this?

    I just tested it on my system and cannot replicate your problem. So, I would attribute it to a defective installation and suggest you do the following:
    Install or Reinstall Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, or Lion from Scratch
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
    OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
    OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
    OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
                because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Possible bug in GDM with new user

    Hi, I created a user in the system settings app in gnome and I set the password to be set at first login, but now logging out of the current user and trying to login to the new user without the password on gdm I just get nothing where 'create new UNIX password' used to be.
    So I cant create a password for a new user from GDM in 3.6 like I could in 3.4. It might be a bug?
    To get around this you can obviously just run
    passwd 'user'
    Is this just me?

    It's not just you. You should open a bug report upstream.

  • Spiceworks new user form

    I'm building my portal, and I want to have an online form that allows users to fill out a new user request.  I just have a couple things I'm having trouble with.
    1) when an end user clicks submit, it shows them a list of all tickets opened, closed, etc.  How do I remove that.  I just want them to see the submission successful, nothing else.
    2) I have one field for first name, another for last name.  for some reason the last name field doesn't' show up on the ticket.
    3) When the email comes to me showing a new ticket is created, the subject is ticket # 123 - User.  How do I get that to say New User Request for John Doe?  I selected to boxes to have the fields apply to subject, but it doesn't seem to do it.

    If this process needs to happen after the first time that the users logs in, then I would suggest using a PEI (Portal Event Interface). If you can provide more information around your business requirements,w e might be able to suggest another approach.

  • Upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 new user password reset error

    hello, we upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1 last friday and have come across the following issue: New users being required to change their password for the first log in are receiving an error message:
    (Error: Item "P50_USER_NAME" was not displayed because the HTML form was not yet opened.Error: Item "P50_ENTER_CURRENT_PASSWORD" was not displayed because the HTML form was not yet opened.Error: Item "P50_PASSWORD" was not displayed because the HTML form was not yet opened.Error: Item "P50_CONFIRM_PASSWORD" was not displayed because the HTML form was not yet opened.Error: Item "P50_SESSION" was not displayed because the HTML form was not yet opened. )
    This is occuring with existing applications as well as with a newly created application (after the upgrade). Also, what's interesting is that if you log directly into apex (the screen with the workspace login, etc....it works fine and directs you to a different URL. Obviously our users wouldn't be accessing this url.) here's the 2 urls just so you can see the application/page differences (4155/50 verses 4350/68)
    This is the URL that end-users are being directed to which shows the error:
    /f?p=4155:50:3096404055109898::NO::P50_SESSION,FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL:2551476413459584,f?p=114
    This is the URL that is working when logging into apex directly:
    /f?p=4350:68:984059594353829
    Looks like it has something to do with #form_open# and the template/theme? Any suggestions on how to fix?
    Also, I uploaded an application to apex.oracle.com and it works fine there.
    I've searched the documentation and the forum and didn't come up with anything.
    Thanks for the help!! Melissa

  • Error while creating new user in Oracle 11i EBS

    I am getting following error while creating new user. How solve this issue?
    “Unable to load java class % specified profile option SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM. Please verify that the class exists and that it implements the java interface oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation”.

    Following is the text from Note for Custom Password Validation logic:
    Customers who wish to use their own password validation logic may do
      so by writing their own Java classes that implement the
      oracle.apps.fnd.security.PasswordValidation Java interface.  The
      interface requires 3 methods to be implemented:
      1) public boolean validate(String user, String password)
        - This method takes a username and password, and then returns true
      or false, indicating whether the user's password is valid or invalid,
      respectively.
      2) public String getErrorStackMessageName()
        - This method returns the name of the message to display when the
      user's password is deemed invalid (i.e., the validate() method returns
      false).
      3) public String getErrorStackApplicationName()
        - This method returns the application shortname for the
      aforementioned error message.
      After writing the Java class to perform customized password
      validation, the customer must then set the value of the profile option
      SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM to be the full name of the class.  If, for
      example, the name of the Java class is
      oracle.apps.fnd.security.AppsPasswordValidation, then the value of the
      SIGNON_PASSWORD_CUSTOM profile option must be
      oracle.apps.fnd.security.AppsPasswordValidation.  Note that AOL/J
      will attempt to load this class dynamically.  Hence it is necessary to
      make the class accessible by AOL/J.  This means that in Forms, the
      class must first be loaded into the database using the loadjava
      command.

  • New user - Some issues I want to resolve

    I purchased my mac 2nd hand about 6 weeks ago (24" Mid 2007, 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM) and got it home and set it up and everything has been working flawlessly. Also purchased a magic mouse & trackpad which have also been working fine.
    I received an email last night from a friend with some PDF docuements for work, and since then I have been having some issues. Dont know if this has any relevance whatsoever or just completely coincidence.
    Issues I have encountered so far are :
    1) I noticed was my trackpad was real laggy, to the point of unusable.
    2) I can hear a buzz/hum which I never used to hear, hard to tell if it's the optical drive or hard drive, but something sounds like it is constantly spinning - im a bit anal about things like this and it really bugs me, especially as it wasnt doing this before
    3) My WiFi connection is proving to be problematic coming from sleep / cold boot. If I click on the WiFi icon in the taskbar it will not display any available networks and just says "looking for networks". If I then click on "Join network" > "Show Networks" this then shows me available networks. If I then choose my network, it takes a long time (about 30-60 seconds) to display the WPA2 password box. I then enter my password and I see the icon in the taskbar goto a full 5 bars, but the screen where I enter my password still says "Connecting..." and eventually results in a "Connection failed!" even though the connection is actually there and I can browse the internet.
    4) Generally feeling "laggy", eg opening System Preferences can take 30+ seconds
    What I have tried to do to fix these problems
    1) Unpaired and repaired which seems to of rectified the issue
    2) Finding it hard to differentiate if the hum is from optical or hard disc. If I hold my hand on the back of my Mac I can feel vibration close to the centre, by the stand support.
    Have tried running Disk Checker to see if it identifies any S.M.A.R.T errors but all came back ok. It did find some faults with Disk Permission's which I fixed.
    3) This is the one that is really annoying me and have tried several recommendations found on the internet, including ;
    Turning wifi on/off
    Turning router on/off
    Changing settings in energy saver
    Removing saved wifi networks / re-adding
    Removing passwords from keychain
    Updating to OS X 10.8.5
    4) As I am a new user, I do not fully understand what I am doing yet, but I have opened up the Activity Monitor and noticed that there is a high CPU load quite consistently (also back of mac appears quite hot to the touch). I have noticed that parentalcontrolsd seems to be consuming a lot of CPU time, even though I dont have parental controls on. It is usally 80%+ CPU. Also ocspd appears to be quite a cpu hog too (constant 20-50%)
    This all happened on Friday 13th! lol
    Any help with any of the above would be appreciated.

    In Activity Monitor, select the processes with the high CPU use and quit them using the Quit button at the top left.
    Also try a restart.

  • I can not create a new user account on eprint

    i can not create a new user account on eprint. I have been trying for over an hour and it repeats telling me that my email addresses are not entered correctly, however they match. ?

    I have tried to create an account via ePrintCenter and it seems that the published application has several flaws in interpreting the provided input.
    1) In the Filed for last Name I enter my last name, which consist of only Alph Characters. The form however thinks that there is some sort of special character and rejects my Input.
    2) E-Mail address. is not identical; OK, so I do a quick OCR on the E-Mail and guess what they are identical. Again the form Fails to recognize this.
    3) Enter a password (2 Fields) and a third is displayed which is marked as "*required" but is not labeled as to what the required info could possibly be. Or is it a 3 password confirmation box, who knows.
    All I know is that a simple registration is a major pain with this HP site.
    Any Help as to how to alleviate this would of course be greatly appreciated.

    break
    else
    $error2= [System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox]::Show("ERROR : passwords donot match")
    I am getting issue when The password complexity error is coming. It is showing up the error in the catch, but it is creating the account in AD and disabling it.

    Hello,
    I'm running 10.5.8 on a Mac Server, and until today have had no issues adding new users with a preset I've created in Workgroup Manager. Today, I've received the message:

  • How to create a new user in IDM 8.1 with random generated password?

    Hi, i want create a new user using a modified tabbed user fom that cannot ask for password and confirm password to the administrator but randomly generate a new password (only when the form is opened in user creation) according to password policy and display it on the form.
    I think it is possible because Reset User Password Form does it, but i don't know how put this kind og logic in an other form.
    thanks
    Marco

    If you want to generate a users password randomly then you could take a look at the com.waveset.provision.PasswordGenerator class inside the Identity Mgr REF kit. Here's an example:
    <Rule name='generateRandomPassword'>
           <Comments>generate a random password</Comments>
           <RuleArgument name='accountId' value='Configurator'>
             <Comments>accountId of the user</Comments>
             <String>Configurator</String>
           </RuleArgument>
           <RunAsUser>
             <ObjectRef type='User' id='#ID#Configurator' name='Configurator'/>
           </RunAsUser>
           <block trace='true'>
             <defvar name='session'>
               <or>
                 <ref>context</ref>
                 <ref>display.session</ref>
               </or>
             </defvar>
             <defvar name='wsuser'>
               <invoke name='getObject' class='com.waveset.ui.FormUtil'>
                 <ref>session</ref>
                 <s>User</s>
                 <ref>accountId</ref>
               </invoke>
             </defvar>
              <defvar name='pwgenerator'>
               <new class='com.waveset.provision.PasswordGenerator'>
                 <ref>session</ref>
               </new>
             </defvar>
             <invoke name='generatePassword'>
               <ref>pwgenerator</ref>
               <ref>wsuser</ref>
             </invoke>
           </block>
        </Rule> You'll want to take the password.password field and inside the Default event handler check to see if waveset.id is null, if it is then call the Rule above.
