Bug on dads/schema mapping in oracle 11g

This is a very annoyng problem i had with the new 11g version.
i have a lot of users in the db, they are all copies of a master schema but they are mapped differently in dads.conf
example:
<Location /sam>
PlsqlDatabaseUsername wsam
<Location /jo>
PlsqlDatabaseUsername wjo
sometimes i call by browser sam/pk1.hello
and i see the response of jo/pk1.hello
this is random and if i recompile the sam user i fix the misdirection for a while.
help is very much appreciated on this one !

I mentioned that note as that gives you how to verify who is the user who owns the schema.
Again always ABAP schema is owned SAPSR3 and SAPSR3DB owns java.
select owner from dba_tables where table_name = 'T000'; this query which is explained will give you who owns the SAP DB in your case. As t000 address the client setting table.
In your case it will be SAPSR3.
First thing should be you need to drop this user then create it providing appropriate password along with default tablespace where it has to write along with temporary tablespace to be used and quota for that user should be unlimited.
Then grant the privileges of connecting and creating.
I would suggest you to work with a DBA if you are not comfortable executing SQL statements.

I honestly do not want to put you off studying db block sizes. Perhaps there's still some critical issues to uncover in that respect. But personally.. there are many other subject areas in database technology that peak my interest a lot more. But then you have your personal preferences and likes and dislikes - and data blocks could be your muse. :-)

Oracle 11g bug ?!

We are trying to execute a simple query of the form
select * from sometable where upper(attr1) like 'WB%' or upper(attr2) like 'WB%' or upper(attr3) like 'WB%'
The data does exist in the table but the query does not return values.
Sometimes the count(*) on that table returns the correct number but the actual select statement does not return data.
We have added a dummy where clause
select * from sometable where upper(attr1) like 'WB%' or upper(attr2) like 'WB%' or upper(attr3) like 'WB%' or lower(attr2) like 'WB%' and the data does show up.
We are on Oracle 11g 11.2.0.2 and have migrated recently from 10g. And this issue has started appearing after the migration.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this issue ?

For example please be aware that the AND operator has a higher priority then the OR operator (is this way since oracle 7 at least).

        and lower(attr5) = 'XY' Some additon. Your condition could also be written like this. Maybe this helps to find the real cause of the error.

where 'WB' in (substr(upper(attr1),1,2)
                   ,substr(upper(attr2),1,2)
                   ,substr(upper(attr3),1,2)
                   )I find this often to be better readable then a long LIKE + OR expression.

Oracle 11g bug for column ambigously defined error

I have below format query running on Oracle 10g without any issues
select col1
from (select col1
from (select 'A' col1
from dual)
) v1
inner join (select col1 as col2
from (select 'A' col1
from dual)
) v2
on (v1.col1=v2.col2);
When I run the exact same query on Oracle 11g I get column ambiguously defined error. But when I change the query to as below it works fine on 11g
select v1.col1
from (select col1
from (select 'A' col1
from dual)
) v1
inner join (select col1 as col2
from (select 'A' col1
from dual)
) v2
on (v1.col1=v2.col2);
Is it because 11g ignores column alias in my inner queries.

I'd tend to agree that this seems to be a bug in 11.1.0.7 (at least, that's the version I'm running it in)
It's not even that Oracle doesn't know about the column aliases, you can remove the aliases in the ON without a problem, i.e.
SELECT v1.col1
   FROM
(SELECT col1 FROM
    (SELECT 'A' col1 FROM dual
) v1
INNER JOIN
(SELECT col1 AS col2 FROM
    (SELECT 'A' col1 FROM dual
) v2
     ON (col1=col2);works fine. Using the old join syntax also seems to work fine

Now we are planning to upgrade to version 11.1.0.7,but heard that it contains many bugs.And our DBA suggest us version 11.2.0.1.0 where all the bugs in the earlier release of 11g got fixed. Is it true?

Bottom line - you'll be lucky if you never run into a bug in any release.
I'd always be hesitant to go with any x.1 release including 11.2.0.1.
Bear in mind that you're probably not upgrading today but in a few months time.
11.2.0.2 is available on Linux
Use Metalink to identify any bugs in any specific feature or release you're interested.

You can do it with gridcontrol. Look for dictionary comparisons and dictionary baselines.
If you don't have gridcontrol, you can also use SQLDeveloper (free download on otn).
There are two ways to do it with SQLDeveloper.
1) Use Tools->Database Diff. However, you need a change management license to use this functionality. I've never used this.
The free way is to...
2) Use Tools->Database Export. Run it once for each schema and make sure the "Show Schema" option is NOT checked before exporting the schema. Also make sure you don't export data. You can choose which types of objects to export as well.
Once you have the two export files for the two schemas then simply run a diff tool on your platform. Use the diff command line for linux or winDiff or something similar in windows.

How to Configure DAD runtime in Apex 4.0 installed with Oracle 11g r2

i have intalled oracle 11g r2 and apex 4.0. i have created the workspace test1.
i want to create runtime DAD so that the user can only view Runtime environemtn.
in oracle 10g there was a way to install apache and change the Marvel.conf file and access multiplle DAD.
how can i do this in 11g r2 and apex 4.0.

Error mapping, OGG from SQL 2008 to Oracle 11g

Please I hoppe you can help me, I am using OGG to replicate from SQL 2008 to Oracle 11g R2, I can insert rows and replicate without problems, but when I update or delete on the Source the replicat stop working.

BUG for sort column with Oracle 11g and APEX 3.2

I have BUG in Report region(Oracle 11g and APEX 3.2). if i have more than 746 Char for my column's value and i want to sort them, this error appear
Report error :
ORA-00910: specified length too long for its datatype.
But in an other environement in Oracle 10g and apex 3.2, with the same data. I have no BUG.
Somebody have an idea for a possible solution to this problem???

Again, I may just be wasting your time...but if I have XDB problems...especially with the password, I do the following:
1. Change your working directory to $ORACLE_HOME/apex.
2. Start SQL*Plus and connect to the database where Oracle Application Express is installed as SYS.
3. Run apxconf.sql
> @apxconf
4. When prompted, enter a password for the Oracle Application Express Admin account.
5. When prompted, enter the port for the Oracle XML DB HTTP server. (default port being, of course,8080).
6. Unlock the ANONYMOUS account
> ALTER USER ANONYMOUS ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
7. If needed, I do the SETHTTPPORT command mentioned before...
Since I'm using the Oracle 11g, with embedded PL/SQL server, I have no idea if this is the same for 10g us OHS?

Oracle 11g Rel2 Sample Schemas Missing

I installed Oracle 11g Release 2 and created a database using DBCA. In one screen there is an option to create sample schema but it was greyed out so I could not select it.
I searched the dbhome\demo\schema\human_resources directory but there is only one file in it -hr_code.sql(It created triggers in hr schema).
There is no sql to create hr schema or populate schema tables. I searched the net to download the scripts but no idea where to get them. Can you help me

Oracle 11g Database Schema problem

Hi I have installed the Enterprise Edition of Oracle 11g on windows XP SP2. I log in to Enterprise Manager. When I click on the schema tab I get the following error message.
Error
Internal Error has occured. Check the log file for details.
Does anybody know why ? and which log file they are refering to?
Also can someone tell me where or how you can create normal users ?

the related OC4J machine is failing, it could be due to a number of reasons. Sometimes it has to do with the TZ region Agent recognizes, but the only way to know it for sure is by taking a look at the operational log files. Those can be found at the EM Console directory under the ORACLE_HOME. You will see the ORACLE_HOME/EMConsoleDirectory/log at the log there are several files, take a look at them and feedback.

Integrating Google Maps in Oracle Apex and 404 Not found error page

Currently using APEX version 3.2.0.00.27 installed in OracleXE version 10.2.0.1.0. Have been attempting to recreate some examples of Google Maps within APEX. Found a nice set of examples here that build up to what I'm looking to ultimately do by incorporating google maps into APEX:

Unfortunatly, I'm getting the "404 Not Found, Not found, The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server" page when I try to recreate the "Map with Search" example. I'd like to see if this really works using the html input and button tags in the body/region source versus creating APEX items to pass the address values to the javascript in the html header of the apex page. I'm thinking it's just an html thing within APEX that you have to do it a certain way, but I haven't managed to hit that magic combination. have gone to the google maps api v2 and looked at the html they use (it's what these examples with apex are based on) and tried that just to see. Same 404 result.
I've seen suggestions at this forum and elsewhere that the 404 error is due to a bug. have been to metalink, and really haven't seen anything that spells out what the bug is and how to patch it or work around it. May be I just haven't found the right note/doc yet. have seen suggestions to change something associated with the Anonymous account that APEX uses. Have turned on authentication in the application to use an APEX user account with a logon page to the application. Still get the 404. Although, I have not adjusted anything elsewhere, like a DADS config file, because the apex/xe configuration is using the plsql gateway. Not sure of any procedure for changing settings on anonymous account when using plsql gateway.
Open to suggestions. APEX 3.2 is customer version, so going to 4 may not be an option yet. XE, on the other hand, can certainly be swapped for an 11g version standard or enterprise edition if need be. I don't think this is a db version problem though. I think it's more on the APEX side of things.
Anyway, any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Apex 3.1.2 with Oracle 11G - /i/ alias question

I just recently installed Oracle 11G with Apex 3.0 and then upgraded Apex to 3.1.2. I am able to login and do most of the regular tasks. I built an application using custom flash components. When I used Apex with Oracle 10G, I can copy the SWF files to the directory mapped to /i/ alias and it worked fine.
Same is not working with 11G. First of all I am not sure to what path the /i/ in 11G is mapped to. Any help is greatly appreciated. I used Embedded Pl/Sql gateway.

You need to make sure that you have access to the "i" folder. Make sure that the alias defined in your dads.conf is properly configured.

Xpath difference between Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g

All,
I'm working on moving our existing stored functions from Oracle 10g (10.2.0.4.0) to Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) and so far, everything has worked just fine on Oracle 11g...execpt for one xpath statement.
The statement below works fine in Oracle 10g (10.2.0.4.0):
extractValue(inv_dtl_img, '/service//ground/sortKeyCode') AS "srt_key_cd",
Please note: I need to use the double slash "//" in order to ignore the two different elements in the schema.
However, in Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0), when this statement is executed in the stored function, I get this:

ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got -
The extractValue command is pulling data out of an XMLType column, and the corresponding XML schema looks like:

</sortKeyCode>
</ground>
</nontrans>

Please note: In the XML message, the "trans" and "nontrans" elements are exclusive, so both will never be populated at the same time. A typical XML message would look like this:
<service><trans><ground><sortKeyCode>3</sortKeyCode></ground></trans></service>
or this:
<service><nontrans><ground><sortKeyCode>5</sortKeyCode></ground></nontrans></service>
In the schema, the sortKeyCode has been defined in both places as "string maxlen=3", so the datatype of that element is exactly the same in both the "trans" and "nontrans" sections of the schema. The only difference in the schema (outside of the trans and nontrans tags) is the fact that the second "ground" tag is defined with a "minOccurs=0". Could Oracle 11g be treating the schema differently than Oracle 10g, resulting in the error?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The only way to get an quick answer to that one is to file a service request with Oracle support. It could be a bug or a correct change regarding W3C behavior. Despite this, you moving to 11.2, the extract/extractvalue etc propriety Oracle solutions are deprecated from 11.2 and onwards. The more sensible way to move forward, although, I know more work intensive, is to apply the XQuery alternatives like xmlexist, xquery or xmltable functions.
Moving to EXTRACT is a bad idea, because this alway will be treated as an XML fragment. If you unlucky then Oracle will deal with this in memory via DOM (the standard solution regarding XML parsing if every smart thing within Oracle can not be applied) and this will result in a performance downgrade due to high CPU and Memory consumption/overhead...
