Bug report: No Label template

See
http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:164
Problem: The text item is slightly off, not in the center of its TD
I am using the No Label template and the label position is "Above"
Since the No Label template generates a empty SPAN tag, it shouldnt affect alignment, but if you look at the source of the page, I see
[td  colspan="1" rowspan="1" align=center][span class="t10NoLabel"][span][br]
Where is that extra linebreak BR coming from? And that too a invalid BR tag without the trailing " /"?
Thanks

Hello,
There is no reason for the extra BR tag to be
generated when the label is empty, is there?This is why http://www.google.com/search?q=empty+table+cells
We'll look into doing something different it's just a matter of deciding the best course, but yes having <br> output in the conditions you show is not the best option.

  • No Label Template is it a bug?

    Hi,
    In APEX 4.1.1.00.23 I am using Theme 20.
    Any page items, if I select Label Template as No Label.
    The label is still displayed. Is there any workaround except removing the text in the label Box?
    I would rather the No Label Template would work corectly.
    Thanks Ron

    I found that Sun Fortran does not count blanks from
    an 'nX' specifier when writing with advance='NO'. For
    example, this code:
    write(*,'(A,4X)',advance='NO') '1'
    write(*,'(A)') '2'
    write(*,'(A,4(" "))',advance='NO') '1'
    write(*,'(A)') '2'
    end
    results in:
    12
    1 2
    I recall some discussion that the standards were a
    bit vague on trailing 'nX' with non-advancing I/O.The language in the standard was vague, but the standard
    committee recently issued an interpretation that makes it clear.
    Unfortunately, it makes it clear that what Sun f95 is doing is
    wrong. CR 6580748 has been filed against the bug.

  • Does label template copy work at all?

    Hi,
    i hadn't time to investigate if this is a known problem, i must dash in 5 minutes, however i tried both on apex.oracle.com and on my local apex instance, both version 3.0.1, and i can't get the "label template copy" to work.
    I click on the copy icon on the right, i put the name of the new label template, i get the success message "template copied", but there is no trace of the new label template.
    All the report filters are disabled.
    Can someone else confirm this or am i just dreaming?
    Bye,
    Flavio
    http://www.oraclequirks.com

    Hello,
    Yup sure looks like a bug if you use that icon. Thanks for catching that.
    You can still copy the template using create and then picking
    Create
    Label
    As a Copy of an Existing Template

  • 3.1 Bug Report: "Enable Search" in Create SQL Report wizard

    Hi,
    when "Enable Search" is set to Yes in the "Create SQL Report" wizard, the label template of the page items is set to NULL, it should be "Optional Label" (the default of the theme).
    The PX_ROWS page item is not referenced in the "Number of Rows (Item)" property of the report. That means the user can choose what he wants, it never gets used.
    BTW, it would be useful to write the PX_ROWS into a user preference when the page gets submitted and based the source type on this preference.
    Thanks for looking into it.

    Hi Christina,
    just noticed that the "Reset Pagination" process which is also generated by the wizard doesn't contain the request "Reset" in the Condition Expression 1
    -> Pressing the Reset button should always set the report to the beginning.

  • Creation of label templates for waste and dangerous goods

    hi,
    How to create waste and dagerous labels in EH&S. How to create label template. What are the parameters to be maintained in the specification management for a particular substance.
    sathish. R

    Hi,
    Label creation and shipping for DG and waste material is same procedure. In specification master, you need to maintain substance and assign to materials. Using report templates report will be created and released for shipping. reports can be shipped by automatic/manual/sequantial method.
    This is a big process and it is not possible to explain in one mail.

  • Link to Bug Report Forum on Forum help page is dangling...

    The link Bug Reporting Forum (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/reportabug/threads/) on page
    Answers >
    Forums Home
    > Help (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/help) is dangling. Makes it a bit more complicated than necessary to find this forum...
    Cheers, Michael

    Hello Brent,
    unluckily I think you misunderstood Michael original point.
    Because some time passed, I too would like to report same issue again but let me explain and guide you (or others) how I too reached same sentence.
    As of now even from your own 'Forums preferences' profile page you should be able to find on right side a
    'Help' URL that leading to an intermediate page stating :
    "The Frequently Asked Questions has Moved
    The Forums help file has been moved to the
    Community Wiki. Please update any bookmarks you may have."
    Now a part from correcting that 'Help' URL once you or anyone reach 'Forums
    Help (FAQ) - TechNet Articles - United States (English) - TechNet Wiki' you can find 'How
    do I report issues with the Forums?' question, and then there's this other sentence :
    "How do I report issues with the Forums?
    You can report bugs, suggestions, and other issues for Forums, by performing one of the following actions:
    Bug: If the issue seems like a bug in the forums code, go to the Bug Reporting Forum and report the bug
    by using the template provided in the top forum thread.
    But once anyone reach that Forum, now called 'Forums Issues (not product support)' there's no real forum bug reporting template in the top forum threads (as of now I only found 'Verify Your Account 15' and 'How to report
    spam') and also to find this post thread I really had to search for "report a bug".

  • How to preview WWI Label templates?

    Dear Experts,
    Normally for MSDS templates I know that there is preview option in CG42 transaction by which we can verify the changes that we are making whether they are correct or not however for WWI label templates, I am unable to preview using that option. Any idea how to preview them?
    Devdatt

    Dear Devdatt
    did you use "Label Wizard"? Normally there is no difference in CG42 between "normal" report and label
    Which parameter do you populated in CG42? Doe you have maintained data ? The test of label documents in WWI is the most complex one in EHS
    C.B.

  • [Bug Report!]Adobe Reader can not display 3D file normally!

    I have a 3D pdf file,which is produced by Asymptote,and some labels in the 3D model, can not be displayed normally in the Adobe Reader,even the latest version 9.4.I got this file by
    $asy -file pdf -render=4 file.asy
    while all of them can be displayed in the OpenGL mode.
    $asy -V file.asy
    I hope you can give me a message about the reason and tip about how to solve the problem.
    thank you very much!

  • Optional Label w Help - label template

    Hi All,
    I am working on 508 stuff for sequence navigation with tab order. We have a input form on one place where the labels have help text. If I navigate the form using tab key, input fields get the focus first and labels at last. I removed the tabindex="999" from the template to get the right order. Labels are getting focus before input fields, but if I click on label to see the help, help popup appears but can't get focus using IE. And if I try to go to next field after opening the help popup, it throws me out of the form. Please let me know if there is a way to handle this.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your question. Firstly, can you provide the following information:
    - APEX version
    - IE version
    - Theme #
    So I think you're fix for the tab order issue is correct. Generally speaking, positive tabindex definitions almost always have a negative effect on usability for keyboard-only users. They have been present in theme label templates for a long time and must have been added initially as a way for users to move between form fields quickly. However, and as you have realised, this disrupts a keyboard-only user who wishes to view item help text. This can cause either a) If the form field has focus when the page loads, they have to TAB many times until they reach the help, or b) Form field focus is not set on page load, which can cause page focus to go directly to the label (because browsers treat elements with a positive tabindex as higher priority in the tab order than elements with no tabindex), and then the user has to press TAB many times to get to the form field. It's not good. I have filed bug #16183368 to remove this from all our modern themes, and we also had existing bug #9474840 which deals with the same issue in our internal applications that comprise APEX.
    So moving on to the help text dialog issue. Firstly setting focus to the dialog. I am unable to reproduce focus not being set to the dialog in IE. I tab to the label, hit ENTER, dialog opens, then I can either hit ESC key, or TAB once to go to the 'x' close icon and hit ENTER, to close the dialog. I tested in IE9 and works as expected for me. Can you provide a test case on apex.oracle.com where I could try there?
    Regarding closing the dialog, this is a problem with the version of the underlying jQuery UI dialog widget, where focus is not set back to the calling element when the dialog closes. We failed to workaround this in the default behaviour, (I believe in the most recent release of jQuery UI they have added this now by default, which we hope to pick up in our next release). Until then, I can see 2 options:
    1) Although a little counter-intuitive, you could suggest for keyboard-only users to use 'Screen Reader Mode'. In this mode, the old style page popup loads with the help text. This is fine for keyboard-only users too and focus is still in the same place when the popup closes.
    2) Rework the popup JS to also handle setting focus back to right place on close. I can suggest the code for you, but I need to know your version first, before I can do that.
    Regards,
    Anthony.

  • Why does Pages app have no 'labels' template?

    Why does "Pages" have no 'labels' template?

    That bug was introduced in Pages 5.1. This workaround:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/24857600#24857600
    ... gets rid of the com.apple.MediaLibraryService process and also brings memory usage by Pages itself back in line. Involves removing (should archive them and restore prior to applying a software update) a number of plug-ins, may or may not affect functionality (I have not noticed anything, apart from making the computer usable again).
    Current version of Numbers is also affected; without this "fix," a second com.apple.MediaLibraryServicelaunches, also consuming more than 1 GB of real memory, and Numbers itself uses multiples of the memory it should. Removing the files described also restores Numbers to normal functionality.

  • Forum Bug Report

    I'd like to report an irritating bug in the forum software.  I composed a post in an plain-text TextEdit window.  It had several paragraphs marked off by double carriage returns.  I then selected that text and pasted it into a forum message window.  Once pasted, each sequence of return-return had been replaced by return-space-return-space-return.  This is wasting my time, as when I use an auto-typing utility to paste in a multi-paragraph text block, I always have to go back in to delete the extra characters.

    Regards
    Rob

  • Solaris8 and 9 (possibly 7) /dev/poll driver bug report.

    Hello,
    I'd like to report a bug in the solaris 8 and 9 /dev/poll driver (poll(7d)).
    As i do not have a support account with sun or anything like that, there
    seems to be no other way to do that here (which is of course a very sad
    thing).
    Bug details:
    The /dev/poll device provides an ioctl-request (DP_ISPOLLED) for checking
    if a particular filedescriptor is currently in the set of monitored
    filedescriptors for that particular /dev/poll fd set (open /dev/poll fd).
    A quote from the documentation of the poll(7d) manual page taken from
    Solaris9:
    "DP_ISPOLLED ioctl allows you to query if a file descriptor is already in
    the monitored set represented by fd. The fd field of the pollfd structure
    indicates the file descriptor of interest. The DP_ISPOLLED ioctl returns 1
    if the file descriptor is in the set. The events field contains the
    currently polled events. The revents field contains 0. The ioctl returns 0
    if the file descriptor is not in the set. The pollfd structure pointed by
    pfd is not modified. The ioctl returns a -1 if the call fails."
    It says that when you query for an filedescriptor which is currently being
    monitored in the set, that it would return 1, and change the events field of
    the pollfd structure to the events it's currently monitoring that fd for.
    The revents field would be set to zero.
    However the only thing which actually happens here, is that FD_ISPOLLED
    returns 1 when the fd is in the set and 0 if not. When the fd is in the
    set, when FD_ISPOLLED returns 1, the events field remains unmodified, but
    the revents field gets changed.
    A small sample code to illustrate:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <unistd.h>
    #include <sys/types.h>
    #include <sys/stat.h>
    #include <fcntl.h>
    #include <sys/devpoll.h>
    main() {
    struct pollfd a;
    int dp_fd = open("/dev/poll", O_WRONLY);
    a.fd = 0; /* stdin */
    a.events = POLLIN; /* we monitor for readability, POLLIN=1 */
    a.revents = 0;
    write(dp_fd, &a, sizeof(a));
    a.fd = 0;
    a.events = 34; /* filled in with bogus number to show malfunctioning */
    a.revents = 0;
    printf("DP_ISPOLLED returns: %d\n", ioctl(dp_fd, DP_ISPOLLED, &a));
    printf("a.fd=%d, a.events=%hd, a.revents=%hd\n", a.fd, a.events,
    a.revents);
    According to the documentation of /dev/poll and namely DP_ISPOLLED this
    program is supposed to print the following:
    DP_ISPOLLED returns: 1
    a.fd=0, a.events=1, a.revents=0
    However it prints the following:
    DP_ISPOLLED returns: 1
    a.fd=0, a.events=34, a.revents=1
    You can take any number instead of '34' and it will simply remain untouched
    after the DP_ISPOLLED ioctl-request.
    I hope it's clear now that the solaris8 and solaris9 (and probably solaris7
    with /dev/poll patch too) DP_ISPOLLED implementation is broken.
    This bug is also easily illustrated by looking at the solaris8 kernel sourcecode:
    <snippet osnet_volume/usr/src/uts/common/io/devpoll.c:dpioctl()>
    case DP_ISPOLLED:
    pollfd_t pollfd;
    polldat_t *pdp;
    if (pollfd.fd < 0) {
    mutex_exit(&pcp->pc_lock);
    break;
    pdp = pcache_lookup_fd(pcp, pollfd.fd);
    if ((pdp != NULL) && (pdp->pd_fd == pollfd.fd) &&
    (pdp->pd_fp != NULL)) {
    pollfd.revents = pdp->pd_events;
    if (copyout(&pollfd, (caddr_t)arg,
    sizeof(pollfd_t))) {
    mutex_exit(&pcp->pc_lock);
    DP_REFRELE(dpep);
    return (set_errno(EFAULT));
    *rvalp = 1;
    </snippet>
    its' clearly visible that the code writes the current monitored events to
    the revents field:
    'pollfd.revents = pdp->pd_events;'
    and that it doesnt set revents to zero.
    It's funny to see that this has been like this since Solaris8 (possibly 7). That means nobody ever used DP_ISPOLLED that way or people were simply to lazy to file a bug report.
    Another funny thing related to this. is that Hewlett-Packard did seem to know about this. Since HP-UX11i version 1.6 they also support /dev/poll. From their manual page i ll quote some sentences from their WARNING session:
    "The ioctl(DP_ISPOLLED) system call also returns its result in the revents member of the pollfd structure, in order to be compatible with the implementation of the /dev/poll driver by some other vendors."
    Hopefully this will get fixed.
    I also like to reexpress my very negative feelings towards the fact that you're not able to file bug reports when you do not have a support contract. Ridiculous.
    Thanks,
    bighawk
