BUG: SQL Developer no longer identifies invalid views version 1.1.3.2766

I have a sql script which 'CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW' a view but unlike SQLDeveloper 1.1R2 which I am amending in a third party editor and loading via sqlplus the view is created with "Warning: View created with compilation errors."
In 1.1R2 this would have displayed a view icon with a red cross in the navigator bar. This is no longer the case. All views appear to be valid.
Regards
Kris

It appears that SQL Developer is not handling the INTERVAL data type when a NULL value is present, e.g: -
This works OK:
SELECT CAST('-0 0:0:0.400000000' AS INTERVAL DAY(3) TO SECOND(0))
FROM dual;
This does not:
SELECT CAST(NULL AS INTERVAL DAY(3) TO SECOND(0))
FROM dual;
As a work around you can simply TO_CHAR the column:
SELECT source,
destination,
comments,
flags,
owner,
job_name,
job_creator,
client_id,
global_uid,
program_owner,
program_name,
job_type,
job_action,
number_of_arguments,
schedule_owner,
schedule_name,
start_date,
repeat_interval,
end_date,
job_class,
enabled,
auto_drop,
restartable,
state,
job_priority,
run_count,
max_runs,
failure_count,
max_failures,
retry_count,
last_start_date,
TO_CHAR(last_run_duration),
next_run_date,
TO_CHAR(schedule_limit),
TO_CHAR(max_run_duration),
logging_level,
stop_on_window_close,
instance_stickiness,
system,
job_weight,
nls_env
FROM dba_scheduler_jobs a;

  • BUG: SQL Developer 1.5.3 CSV export column order broken

There's a bug in the 1.5.3 release of SQL Developer regarding data export. This bug re-orders the column order in the data export to be alphabetically sorted. This produces mangled CSV files if used on a table or a view.
This is a critical bug to me since I need to produce lots of ad-hoc data CSV export files. I'm staying with SQL Developer 1.5.0.53 (53.38) for now as it doesn't have this problem.
This is the same bug as present in Jdeveloper 11.1 as described in my post here: BUG: Jdev 11.1.1.0.0 -- DB table data export column order is not preserved
    Quoted from that post:
When I connect to Oracle database, get the table list, right click on the table and select 'Export Data'->csv. The dialog box opens with three tabs: Format, Columns, Where. The column order displayed in both tabs Columns and Where is alphabetic. Because alphabetic ordering re-arranges columns from their initial ordering in the table, this screws up CSV export because columns are not in their intended order. This same problem occurs when I try to export data from views to generate a CSV file with a particular column order.
Please open/check bug report if it's already open.
    Thanks!

This happens with all of the export options for tables or views if you right click from the connections tab table list. If I pull it up in the main window and go to the data tab, I can then right click and it will keep the column id order for some of the views and tables. But not all.
I am running 1.5.3 Build Main 5783 on a Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 platform

  • Bug - SQL Developer 3.0.04 SVN Merge

    Hello.
I've found a bug when trying to merge files.
The problem occurred when there is a conflict on file content and an update on properties.
The SVN plugin prepares merge (diff) files but the GUI shows that the file is MERGED instead of CONFLICTED, and there is no way to enter the resolve conflicts on that file.
    Example log from SVN:
    --- Merging r19952 through r20348 into D:/test_sqlDev_svn/us10591/sql/AAA.sql
    CG D:/test_sqlDev_svn/us10591/sql/AAA.sql
C -There is a conflict on file content
G - Properties were merged successfully without conflicts
If there is a conflict during merge but properties of file have not changed then everything works fine.
Can you please fix this bug as it causes the usage of SQL Developer SVN features unusable our my environment.
    Kind Regards

  • Bug SQL Developer 3.0.04 Save Package Spec and Body to ips file bug

    Hi.
I have problem with export package body end header. Exported ips file have some rows switched compared to original source code.
SQL Developer version: 3.0.04. Build MAIN-04.34
    Error simulation:
    - Click on package header with right mouse button in SQL Developers Connections bar
    - In context menu choose 'Save Package Spec and Body...'
    - Save ips file... (Small bug: Offered file name is wrong (= last saved package/file, not actual name of package) :-( )
    - This file(source code) compare with original source code in Developer and u will see switched rows every +-90. row in source code.
Can u fix this in next version of SQL Developer?
    Thanks...

  • SQL Developer no longer letting me look at the same table name on 2 servers

I used to be able to look at the same table (such as; "ATS_Reminders") on both my development box and my production box at the same time. Now when I connect to both databases, if I try to open the same table on the second box, the first table closes so I can't look at them side by side. Is there a way to fix this annoying behavior?

    Hi bucketofsquid -
You need to pin the 1st editor. This can be done manually by clicking the freeze view button on the object viewer toolbar or automatically by setting auto freeze on in preferences. Tools->Preferences->Database->ObjectViewer->Automatically Freeze Object Viewer Windows

    Hi Frank
This message means that the driver code is unable to locate a DLL to load up and use. Looking at the message I suspect that the DLL in question <jtds-dist>\SSO\ntlmauth.dll .
There are a couple of ways of making the Java VM locate the DLL, assuming you are using windows then the easiest would be to add the directory <jtds-dist>\SSO to you path environment (replacing <jtds-dist> with the actual path to your JTDS distribution).

  • Bug: Sql Developer v1.2.1 (32.13) - Date Field Editor doesn't work properly

    Version: Sql Developer v1.2.1 (32.13)
    OS: Windows XP SP2
    Database: Oracle 10g
    Symptoms:
I have a table with a DATE field.
In a record of this field a have a value such as : 12/31/0003 (I know this is a strange date value) but the problem is that if I try to change this value using SqlDeveloper grid editor in 12/31/2003, it seems to not recognize the change without enabling the Commit Button and keeping the 0003 value !

OK, I'm not understanding you exactly. It's not the formatting that you're having an issue with, but the editor. I have a date for a record that is 17-Feb-2006 and I want it to be 17-Feb-1996, so I invoke the date editor and highlight just the year and make the change. Just type in the new year and say OK. This then causes the Commit button to become available, because we have made a change and then I commit the record.
The record is committed correctly, with the correct years, regardless of whether I have the formatting as RR, RRRR, YY or YYYY.

  • Query Builder within SQL Developer 2.1 versus Query Builder Version 6.0.7.1

    Dear all,
    dear Sue Harper,
we use Oracle 10g (upgrade to 11g is planed) and used the Oracle Query Builder Version 6.0.7.1 by now unless we got to know about the SQL Developer 2.1 including the Query Builder a few weeks ago to produce our SQL statements an efficient way.
Even tho the SQL Developer 2.1 Query Builder already has some nice features, like sorting the data fields ascending, export to excel, etc, that the Oracle Query Builder Version 6.0.7.1 did not have had, we miss some essential features, like the in-statement, define column, etc while on the other side tables are not included in SQL-code unless fields are selected or i.e. date fields cannot be queried in the where conditions.
I read the release notes and know that the SQL Developer 2.1 Query Builder is scheduled for rewrite in the next release.
Does it make any sense to summarized all things we noticed and get in touch with whomever it may concern?
Btw, if it would be possible to define a location for the stored connections within the SQL Developer 2.1 it would be very helpful... When starting SQL Developer 2.1 in our Windows Vista network environment it never finds the connection settings (file) automatically and we have to re-import the connections from a pre-defined directory.
Nevertheless, the SQL Developer 2.1 is a pretty user-friendly and most times reliable tool we are thankful for.
    Kind regards,

    @user12092220
Yep, I saw your post; sorry for not replying, but i thought it's pretty the same problem i have. ;)
The missing possibility to query date-fields in the where clause is really one of a many things i miss in the SQL Dev Query Builder, i am sure you use an "in" statement as well as we do. I think going back to the manual creation of the where condition like we had in Version 6.0.7.1.0 should be okay with most users, at least additional to the current solution as long as the rest of the query can be built within the graphic user interface. Further to save and open a query in gui mode is really, really important for us. Not to mention that the boxes for the tables cannot be stretched over a certain extend and i cant separate the columns any longer :/
Other than that, SQL Developer is a pretty nice tool in my eyes, it's free and hopefully Version 3.0 will be closer to what we would like the SQL Developer to be like.

  • JDK with SQL Developer 3.2.20 Not Latest Version 6 Update

    SQL Developer Team,
Why doesn't the new version 3.2.20.09 have the latest JDK 6 Update 37. It still has Update 35 which has security vulnerabilities.
Also, the download web page here
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
says it is Update 11 "Windows 32-bit - zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_11"
    Bob S

Why doesn't the new version 3.2.20.09 have the latest JDK 6 Update 37Timing. Update 37 was not available until 10/16. Update 35 (08/30) had only recently been included due to Oracle Cloud requirements.
As a convenience, one of the 32-bit Windows downloads includes a JDK. There is no commitment to provide the most recent update.

  • Editing views in Oracle SQL Developer

    Hi All,
I have only just downloaded Oracle SQL Developer and have vreated a view. Now I want to be able to go back to that view and edit. When I right click on the view, it gives the option to edit but my scripts to edit isn't there, morre or less telling me to start all ove r again.
Can some one help on this or am I just to new to the program.
    Many thanks
    Cube60

    Hi,
I don't seem to get waht you mean. When I right click on my view, then I choose edit, then on the first tab, Entire SQL query, mine comes up as blank.
When inserting new records on a table with its primary keys based on sequence numbers, it does not automatically pick the nextval in the sequencce.
For example, before downloading SQL Developer, I used to work in SQLplus and I have created records and have now moved them from that table to history table for records purpose. Lets say I have moved or deleted records with empid 8 -101 to a history table without a link between my source table and my destination table. The next record I should be allowed to enter in SQL Developer should be 102 and not empid 9 as it presently does.
    SQL> select seq_empid.currval from dual;
    CURRVAL
    101
Any comments or way round this?
    Thanks

  • Index organized Materialized View in SQL Developer Datamodeler

    Hello SQL Developer Datamodeler Team,
I'm using version 4.0.2.840 and looking for a how-to to change a MV to an IOMV.
So far I do the following:
    Create Table in Relational Model
Create MV in Oracle 11g Physical Model
Double Click Table in Oracle 11g Physical Model
Set "Implement as MV" to my MV
    OK
Now I can't find an option for index organized in Physical Model Materialized View properties.
The setting "Organization: Head/Index" for Physical Model MV-Basetable properties does not change the generated DDL.
Also, setting this to "Index" does not enable the window's "IOT Properties"-tab (like it does for normal tables).
Is it possible to create an Index organized Materialized View in current SQL Developer Datamodeler?
    Thank you & Best regards,
    Blama

    Hi Blama,
DDL for Index-organized Materialized Views is generated in the Early Adopter release 4.1.0.866, which is now available for download.
The Organization on the Table that is implemented as the Materialized View should be set to INDEX, and the Table's IOT properties will be used during DDL generation.

  • Viewing the database version in SQL Developer

    Hello there,
I am using SQL Developer version 1.5.0.53, and I was wondering if there is a way that I can view the database version within SQL Developer?

  • SQL Developer - Cannot see list of tables in my connection

Hi - when I downloaded and started to use the SQL developer tool, once I connected, I could see all of the tables/columns in my connection on the left side of the tool, and I had my query panel, results panel, and SQL history stacked on the right. Suddenly something has changed, and I cannot see the list of tables, etc. in my connection anymore, so I have to rely on memory and SQL history to remember the table and column names. It has to be "hidden" somehow, but view-connections does not help, and trying to click and drag windows doesn't uncover it either.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Probably better to ask in the SQL Developer forum here: SQL Developer
I've been trying the version 2 beta though and it has quite a few bugs in. Table browsing is working fine for me, but all my functions and procedures have disappeared from the tree view. It does odd things with code formatting too.
I don't think it will be supplanting trusty old command line SQL Plus for me yet any time soon...
