Bugs in Illustrator since Update to CC 17.1

Since Illy updated I have had multiple issues...
Gradients won't change direction nor even change color with either the dropper nor just clicking on a swatch, changing angle in gradient pallette - just not responding! So, I ungrouped it (just an 8 letter word, drop shadow applied, changed to curves!) and reset the gradient that way, then regrouped and reapplied the gradient.
Simple word changed to curves won't allow color to be applied.
Simple word, after applyng a roughen style - won't clear appearance - won't revert back.
Don't know what to do - can't get any work done at all... how do I re-install or go backwards?

I had to reinstall, and it seems to be working OK now...

Adobe PDF Printer not working in Illustrator since 9.3.2 update.

Greetings all,
Since updating Acrobat Pro to 9.3.2 I've not been able to print to PDF from Illustrator using the Adobe PDF Printer (Adobe PDF 9.0 in my printer list).
I've tried several restarts and have also removed the printer and run the Repair Acrobat Installation from the Help menu of Acrobat to reinstall the printer, but problem remains.
I've also tried printing from other programs (namely Thunderbird, Firefox and Photoshop) and the printer has worked fine so I suspect this my be isolated to Illustrator.
No error messages are given and the Illustrator print jobs are listed as Completed in the printer job list but no files are created.
I've got a work-around, printing to Postscript file then converting to PDF in Distiller and it seems to be working fine, but not my ideal solution.
I've checked for updates in Illustrator but none are available.
System details:
OS X 10.5.8 (MacBook Pro 15", around 2.5yrs old)
Adobe Creative Suite CS 3, Acrobat Pro 9.3.2, Illustrator 13.0.2

I've never liked the Save As PDF option in Illustrator. Though the quality is excellent, in my experience it creates bloated PDFs that are often too big to email.
Take for example the file that prompted my original post. If I print to PDF (or in this case use my workaround, creating a PS file, then converting to PDF in Distiller) using my Hi Rez preset, the final PDF is 648K. If I Save As PDF using the same preset, the final file is 5.5Mb! A ridiculous size for a CMYK flyer measuring just 134x70mm.
The reason for the size increase is obvious when the big pdf is opened in Illustrator: all the bits and pieces outside the artboard and on hidden layers are all preserved. In reality, it's just the same as the original Illustrator file seeing as Illustrator's native AI format is pretty much a pdf in all but name only.
Do you know of a way to use the Save As PDF command that eliminates the unwanted material and gets the file size down? That would really make my day!
What I wish for is an Export To PDF command as found in InDesign. That seems to give the best of both worlds.

From the log, there is some hidden exception during first launch. The best way to proceed is to file a bug, including some guest/debugging access to the game.

I have a 3rd generation iPad running iOS7.0.2, and since updating to iOS7, it will not mirror to an AppleTV. The devices will connect, but the video monitors show only a blank screen. The AppleTV's work fine with various other iOS & OSX devices. Ideas?

I have three AppleTV's where I work. I have two at home. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS7.0.2 which mirrors smoothly via AirPlay. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro and a 2011 iMac, both running Mountain Lion, both of which mirror smoothly through AirPlay. I have a 3rd generation iPad running iOS7.0.2, and since updating to iOS7, it will not mirror. The iPad will connect to the AppleTV, but the TV's and projectors only show a black screen when connected: the iPad screen looks as it should, except that the transitions become jumpy when connected via AirPlay. This is true on both networks: at home and at work. Another gentleman using the network where I work has the most recent iPad, also running iOS7.0.2, and he is having the same problem. I have tried to "Reset All Settings." I have tried to "Restore." Does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone else experience difficulty mirroring the iPad through AirPlay since the release of iOS7.0.2?

No problems exists with the router (on either network described above) or the multiple AppleTV's which are able to mirror multiple other OSX & iOS devices seamlessly. The problem is strictly with the iPad and iOS7.

This is an iOS 7 AirPlay mirroring bug...
To make matters worse, the iPad automatically drops its mirroring session 45 seconds after it auto-locks.
3-4 mirroring sessions is all it takes for the iPad mirroring to freeze up.
After this happens, mirroring to an Apple TV only projects a blank screen.
Once the mirroring is hung, the only way to fix it is to restart the iPad.
Apple please fix this iOS 7 issue!

Data overages since updating to iOS 6 - fixed and solution

How do I go from 300mb per month for the past year to 3 gigs in one month? iOS 6 and podcasting being removed from the OS.
After updating my 4s with iOS 6, my data usages more than quadrupled from 300-400mb per month in the past year to 3 gigs in a month since updating. My usage was the same. So I decided to monitoring my daily usage and made it a point not to use the 3g and was getting 100-200 mb a day in usage still. Then I realized that ever since podcasting was removed from the OS and made into an seperate app it was checking and downloading podcasts automatically even when wifi wasnt available
I did the following and my usage is back to normal again.
Setting>Podcasts> Turn off Sync Subscription and Turn off Use Cellular Data (I had this turn off, even when I was getting overages)
Also do the following:
Launch the Podcast App
Go to Library>>For each podcast> Expand the settings by clicking the "right arrow" next to podcast name and uncheck auto-download. There seems to be a bug that when "Auto-Download" is check it downloads whenever a podcast is available even though iOS 6 was told not use cellular data for downloading in the setting above. I also think the app is refreshing and check for new episodes through the 3G as well
I now go into each Podcast and manually download each new episode when I am near a wi-fi connection (Make sure the 3G icon is replace by the wifi icon on your iphone).
You can still force the podcast to use 3G by manually downloading them when wifi isnt available.
Hope this helps and they fix it.
AT&T told me before I figured it out, it was not their problem and apple told me there are no issues with sudden overages with iOS 6.

Apple told you there are no excessive data usage issues with IOS6? Haha, that's typical, did you tell them to simply search their discussion forums for "IOS6 excessive data usage"? They'll discover massive amounts of people complaining about this very issue, including myself. But that's Apple for you, never admitting to a problem, always pretending to be perfect. Meanwhile, millions of users are going to be shocked when they get their November bills and notice they've incurred excess data charges. Thanks Apple, after the maps fiasco I thought you couldn't get any worse, I guess I was wrong.

Since updating to iOS 6 on my ipad i am unable to connect to the internet, itunes or the app store. I have tried many suggestions about changing the dat, logging in/out of itunes etc but nothing has worked! Please help :)

I sent an email to apple support and they said we don't handle these issues and redirected me back to the help forums which i have already seen and tried everything other people have suggested and nothing has worked (changing date, signing in/out of itunes etc). When i go to app store the screen is blank, in itunes it just keeps saying loading but never gets anywhere and same with the internet! Some things to try first:

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. There is no red underline for misspelled words in Safari on Ipad Air since update

Since updating to the new IOS I don't see that red scribbly underline under misspelled words in Safari (or Google Chrome) anymore on my Ipad Air. I like that underline, cause it's an easy and fast way to see when I mispelled something or made a typo.
The spellcheck function on my Ipad is turned on (the autocorrect and suggestion function are turned off). I do see that red underline in other text programs, like Quickedit, Facebook Messenger and Notes. But not in Safari or in Google Chrome and Google Drive/Documents
I already tried to no avail:
turning the spellcheck, suggestions and autocorrect on and off
Resetting the Ipad (with the home and sleep/wake button)
Deleting my Safari and Google history data
Deleting my dictionary data
Deleting the emoji keyboard
How do I get it to work again?

I suspect that's an actual change to iOS 8, but if it isn't and you think it's a glitch or bug, then open a ticket with Apple Support, so they can get it registered as a problem, so the Apple software people can fix it ...

Since updating to 3.6.6 on Mac OS 10.6.4, all downloaded videos are terribly degraded.

As I SAID, since updating to Firefox 3.6.6 on Mac OS 10.6.4, ALL videos that I download are horribly degraded! Unless I can resolve this and ditch this last dreadful update, I'm going to stop using Firefox for the first time in nearly 10 years. Most people that I know have switched to Google's Chrome, but I've stuck with Firefox.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Mozilla's objective is that ''you'', the user, use the browser ''you want'', be if Firefox or any other browser. If you want to use Firefox but can't, due to a problem, I'm glad to work with you the best I know and can to fix it. If you actually want to use another browser, then I'm happy that you finally found your "home", and my job is successfully done.

Here is my shortlist:
1. Copy/Cut and paste - sadly still missing...
2. Landscape view for keyboard - SMS and Email - still missing...!
3. AM/PM indicator missing from "unlock" screen (in 12 hour clock) - BUG
... What's wrong with Apple these days - all of these issues (listed above) could have been easily implemented in version 2.2 and were frequently requested by all iPhone users since version 1.0 and yet Apple have ignored all of them...

These features may or may not be that difficult to include, but what made you "fork out huge amounts to pay for a 'top of the range' iPhone" in the first place?
As already provided, Apple has what is called their own "allocation of resources and prioritization", and if what is included doesn't meet your needs or wants, you should not have purchased an iPhone in the first place, or continue to keep using the iPhone if Apple doesn't include the features you need or want in a time table that meets your expectations, since there are plenty of cheap $100 phones that meet your needs or wants, you have a wide range of other phones to choose from which are less expensive, so that is exactly what you should do. No point in continuing to use a device that does not meet your needs or wants. Use one of the many less expensive devices you have to choose from that meets your needs or wants and move on.

Snapping bug in Illustrator CC?

Hello. I've an issue with Illustrator CC. When moving more than one point of an object, the points snap to some predefined pixel grid... You'll notice from the attached images - the second image shows the first scaled down to about half the size - the 'slits' on the side elements have either been widened, or reduced to nothing (as shown by the last image)...
I've used illustrator since version 9, so am used to using the application. Snap to grid and pixel are both off (as is pixel preview or anything else that defines how the image is viewed), so believe this to be a bug - a very annoying bug that effectively renders the application useless for precision illustration.

In the Transform panel, select everything and untick Align to Pixel grid, this frees the present objects, then in the Options untick for New Objects.
You may avoid using (RGB) document types made for web and similar uses. or change their default to have Align to Pixel Grid unticked.

IMessage/text photos constant loading/flickering while trying to view them since updating to IOS7

Since updating to IOS7 any sent or received photos constantly try and update making it nearly impossible to see the photo.
Has anyone else had this issue or is this just a bug that hasn't been fixed yet?

Found a note explaining the significance of these errors.
It says:
"NZE-28862: SSL connection failed
Cause: This error occurred because the peer closed the connection.
Action: Enable Oracle Net tracing on both sides and examine the trace output. Contact Oracle Customer support with the trace output."

Since updating to latest IOS I cannot switch on wifi,looking at other sites it appears it's a software issue.how long do we wait for a bug fix as the common term greyed out is affecting a lot of phones after researching I phone users with the same issues.i know at the moment it's either move on to another phone system or do I risk the wait for a bug fix? I would like all with similar issues to list here so something might be done to resolve the software problem.

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

Since updating to Firefox 23.0.1, I am unable to connect to our company servers. The error message is "Certificate type not approved for application.", and it gives me no option to create an exception.
In previous versions, Firefox gave the option of creating a security exception, and then everything worked as expected. The new version does not give this option, and hence I cannot connect to our company servers.
I can connect using Explorer, Opera, Chrome, etc., without any problems. Only Firefox refuses to connect.
Please advice.

The issue is not with SSL or TLS. The issue is with Firefox.
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, but this is clearly a bug in Firefox, where the ability to create a security exception has been disabled in this case.
Other browsers, as well earlier versions of Firefox, allow security exceptions to be created, which completely solves the issue.

It doesn't appear to affect every 4S. I don't know if theres specific batches it affects or maybe its location based, but i have a friend who has the same phone as me and theirs did exactly the same thing only after doing the firmware update. I'm pretty confident it is a bug. Looking around on google, it seems like its happening to a lot of other 4S users.
I have done a settings reset, didn't fix it. Did a settings and content reset, didn't fix it. Did a full recovery back to the backup i did when i first purchased it, didn't fix it. None of these things changes the firmware.
I am pretty appalled that apple would release a firmware upgrade with such an obvious problem for 4S users. Did they not test it first? Now i am finding multiple texts from people asking me things hours after they messaged me because the sounds don't work. Not impressed.

I was trying to update my CS 6 Design Premium and got error message:
