Building an Answers Request filter dependent on another Answers Request

I want to build an Answers Request that uses a Page Prompt to filter its results. Then I
want a second Answers Request to filter its results based on the prompted column in
the first Request. Is this possible?
I tried doing it this way. I put the first Request into a dashboard along with its Page
Prompt. It behaves as expected. Then I navigate to the second Request, using a
dashboard Link. The second Request does not filter its results based on the first
Request.

Well I fixed this by creating an extra report, in fact I saved my report from which I'm drilling as a new one and filter on the drill column with 'is prompted'. Then in my report to which I want to drill to I filter on the column and make it based on the results of my extra report (Invoiceid is equal to any Source_id in GL_Journal_drill).
But now the strange point is that in this case I don't succeed, but in my previous case it worked properly. In The meantime I got a higher version of OBIEE (10.1.3.4.1), maybe this is the reason...
Anyway, any help is welcome...

Try to see that you can do it using 'Limit values by'
Or else try to port date2 logic in report, since all prompts end up with report.
Is there any specific reason for date2 values in prompt?

Filter based on another analysis need to run as a seperate query obiee 11g

Hi,
I have a main report which has a filter condition that depends on the another request(Created through Filter based on another analysis).The Filter based on another analysis report query comes as a embedded query along with the main query (making a subquery).As it has a subquery it is taking more time to fetch data.
Is there any possiblity of running the Filter based on another analysis report as a seperate query.
Please suggest.

Make sure one thing,u have eanble check box and submit sql button in the bottom of Advanced tab then save it and try again it will work.

How can I read the filter dependent values in abap class implementation ?

Hi Experts,
I need read the filter dependent values in my Z Class implementation but I don´t know how to do it.
In classic badi was via FT_VAL parameter.
Now how can I do it ?

In case of badis the field flt_val gets added automatically as an import parameter when you check FILTER DEPENDENT check box. This is to restrict which implementation of the badi should be executed, if there are more than one.
There is no such concept when you are building a class.
If you want one of your methods to be executed on in certain cases, you need add the required logic within the method.
If you are referring to the FILTER check box in the pic below, that is used for a different purpose. It is used to filter what is displayed on the class builder screen. F1 on the field to know more about the same.

SUGGEST:"Installed as a dependency for another package" -What package?

When we run "pacman -Qi" and the name of a package, ex: xulrunner (dependency of firefox), in the end, this shows up:

My suggestion is that it should show what package was it installed as a dependency of. Let me explain better. In this specific example, in my system, xulrunner was installed as a dependency of firefox, so, according to my suggestion, it should show exactly this:
Install Reason : Installed as a dependency for another package - firefox
As you can see in bold, my suggestion adds firefox after showing that it was installed as a dependency.
I hope a Pacman/Arch Linux developer sees this topic and develop that feature,

Unlikely, tbh. Feature requests should be posted in the bugtracker.
Also.. the same pacman -Qi output already provides a 'Required By' which tells you which apps depend on the one you're looking at. Not quite the same, I know, but almost.

How to make one map dependent on another ?

Assume you have 2 maps - M1 and M2
How to execute M2 automatically after successful run of M1 ?
or if I have process flows PF2 start after success of PF1 without a manual intervention
I looked at scheduling,.You can only set timing there but don't know how long your map runs.

To make map dependant of another map you can use process flow. In process flow you can call M2 only if M1 is success. If M1 is failure you may exit the process flow.
Am not sure how it will work for process flow. May be writing a 3rd process flow and call PF1 & PF2 within it based on success status? or write some PL-Sql wraper procedure for the same???!!! give it a try.

ERROR while building the SOAP Request in OAM

In a brief step what my requirement is.
Need to build an SOAP request using java objects generated from XSD files comes with installation directory by setting all the required values.
What i have done?
---- To generate Java objects from given XSD files i am using Castor tool.

For the Employee, First of all check the Period Work Schedule also
the Quotas of the pernr needs to maintained in 2006, Please do
this customisation and it should solve the issue.
Maintain the absence quota in the IT2006 and then try once.
Also make sure that the Settings in Webmo and PTARQ etc all is done
The pernr belongs to the a Rule and have absences defined for him.

Problem in creating new implementation for filter dependent badi

I want to use badi NOTIF_EVENT_POST.It is a filter dependent badi. It is asking filter type while implementing thro se19. Could anyone pls tel me how to create new implementation for the filter dependent badi. Existing filter type is QMART. is there any problem if i change the filter type?

Hi ,
NOTIF_EVENT_POST is filter dependent and filter values are based on QMART value in table TQ80. You need to specify the filter value ie : QMART value before implimentation , before that check all active implimentations for the same , if u have to impliment on same filter value , you need to deactivate the one which is implimented on same filter value .
You are not supposed to change the filter type.

when selecting a field in a query, how do you output it on its own column depending on another fields value?
For example

SQL SERVER AGENT job dependent on another job

Hi
I have 2 Sql Server Agent jobs that run on a daily basis.
One which is run first but is dependant on another job completing.
The secone runs every 30 mins between 9:00am to 7:00pm.
If my first Job hasn't run but the 2nd job does start running the 2nd job will fail.
Is there away with SQL servent agent where if my first Job hasn't run then don't run the 2nd job?

According to your description, if you set one job is dependent on another job, when the first job does not run or execute failed, then the second job will not run. I recommend you use two steps to instead of this two jobs. In step Advanced page, we can set
that the first job execute successfully then go to the next step. Or else, it will quit the job and report a failure.
The other way is that we create new job with the same schedule as the second job , in this job , we can check the first job status with the sp_help_job stored procedure, then you can use sp_start_job to Start

Dependency, Characteristic open depending on another field

Hi All,
We are working with a scenario where we willl use some characteristics and dependencies.
We have been able to fill out values in one characteristic depending on another value.
But we would also like to switch a characterstic from Display to Open if a specific value is given to another characteristic.
Does anyone know how this should be written or where i can find documentation about how to this.

I am not agree with Bramhaji ,
its seems with this syntex,
$Self.REF_CHAR = 'CHAR2' if CHAR1 in ('A','B','D'),
$Self.REF_CHAR = 'CHAR3' if CHAR1 in ('A','B','D')
value from CHAR 2and 3 will be copied to Rferance characretrstic as values , but it will not hide them.
forgive me if i am wrong,
I think using precondtion can also help you out.
create a dependency with type precondition
syntax could be $self.CHAR1 = "c"
so now , CHAR 2 qand CHAR 3 will be visible only when CHAR1 have value C
when CHAR1 will haver value A , B or D this CHAR 2 and CHAR 3 will be not visible and user cant assign value to it.
and assign this dependency to charactertsic CHAR 2 and CHAR 3 in class of type 300.

How to Pass Filter value to Filter dependent BADI ?

Hi,
I am having some doubt related to CRM Badi's there are two types of BADI's one is Muliple use badi and other in Filter dependent BADI.
    Incase of filter dependent BADI. when we are creating implentation for filter BADI how to pass this filter value to that new implentation.i.e. if we are going to see the importing parameters for Each method of that Filter Dependent BADI.   the 1st importing parameter for each method is FILTER VALUE for each method in Filter Dependent BADI.
      So my question is that how to map this filer value while creating new implentation for Filter Dependent BADI ?
     It will Automatically get this importing filter value or we have to do any coding for this ????

this Badi defination is filter dependent.

          I am not getting it ??????
Because for every simple badi when we are going to creat the implenation it will work fine without any restrictions by getting all importing values automatically.
And incase of filter depednt Badi also its going in same way it will get its filter value automatically so both the cases are same for Filter dependent badi and simple badi.
Then what is the use of Filter value ????

Filter Dependent BADI - All Country codes to be included

Hi,
I am using a BADI 'CMS_RE_LR_DIALOG' which has a filter type 'CMS_RE_DTE_LR_ID'.
This BADI is used in conjunction with a screen field that can take as inputs the 'country codes'. However currently this BADI has only one implementation for the country code 'DE' (Germany) and this is a SAP implementation and should not be modified. The requirement is that I need to include all the country codes in this BADI so that the associated transaction is executed for all country codes.
Could anyone brief me how this could be done? One procedure would be to create an impl each for every country code, however this is not a feasible solution. Is there any other way in which we can pass all values in a structure to the filter type? I tried using the data element LAND1 for this purpose, but not getting the required output with it.
Kindly pitch in your inputs as to how this could be implemented.

filter is implemented in se18 in badi definition.
certain times u may require to implement certain checks based on country so u can specify the country element as key and implementa filter dependant badi.

Error on smart playlist depending on another smart playlist

I got iTunes Math synced both at home with my iMac and at work with a PC.
Here's my issuse:
I got some smart playlists (A,B and C) that depends on another smart playlist (Z).
A, B and C that have some rule and between these rules there is "the playlist is Z". Like "song has 5 stars, played at least 10 times and is on playlist Z".
I come home a day and A, B and C are empty. The depending playlist Z is there but "can't be find". Editing the three smart playlist re-reselecting Z works.
Back to work, same issue. Playlist Z has same name and same contents both at home and at work but if I edit A B and C to correct the error in one place, I get the error at the other place...

Thanks for your response, I have created smart playlists for all the different genres, and they update automatcally (live) as I purchase music and the program automatically sorts the songs in alphabetical order and that works fine when I want to listen to a particualr genre. But what I want is to create a smart playlist of all the purchased music sorted first by genre and then alphabetically so that as you listen to the playlist it moves from genre to genre within the same playlist and the tracks are alphabetical within each genre. Do you understand?
I think it can be done using smart playlist creation I just don't know how.

and My question is If we implement the Multiple Use the program calls all active implementations in Dynamic sequence.
to Call Particular Implmentation do we go for Filter dependent?

Yes,Both Concepts are independent.
If the BADI Has checked with Muliple use check box then u can implement multiple implementation for that BADI for example check the BADI ME_PURCHDOC_POSTED Attributes tab.
If the check box is marked with Filter-dependent then u can implement based on the data element.Example check the BADI NOTIF_EVENT_SAVE Attibutes tab.
