"Learn how to build and deploy cheat sheets for the Eclipse or BEA Workshop platform."
Included is a great cheat sheet that shows how to build a cheat sheet. If you have your own cheat sheets, leave a comment on the article - perhaps we can get them into CodeShare too!
Check it out. If you'd like to write for Dev2Dev, please contact me!

Chandra,
I am having the same problem with the same versions. I don't think I can move to a different AS to solve the problem.
I've searched a number of other threads in and out of Oracle for solutions. There seem to be a lot of different solutions for similar problems, but nothing that really solves this one.
If I find a solution, I'll post back here. I hope you will do the same or if some kind soul has solved it, she/he will post it.

  • Version when Eclipse and Workshop were merged

I am joining a project which is using Workshop version 8.1.4 for development, so I am new to WebLogic/Workshop. We are planning to use Subversion for VCM.
Looking under Help for the Software updates (to pull in the Subclipse plugin), however the option was not there. In what version of Workshop, were Workshop and Eclipse first integrated?
My base question is what are my options to integrate Subversion into Workshop 8.1.4?
    Thank you,
    Robert

    Hello Robert,
Unfortunately, Workshop 8.1.X does not provide the option to integrate with subversion.
regarding your second question, Workshop 9.2 was the first version of Workshop which was based on Eclipse.
    Additional information is available at

  • Arch Linux cheat sheet [PDF and ODG]

Hi, as far as I know, I already turn two Windows users to Arch, so I was thinking that would be nice to have a simple cheat sheet to help new users quickly.
Somethings maybe wrong and thats why I'm asking for help and contributions. Many new things I wasn't aware (like the new "No xorg.conf" philosophy, the departure of hwd and many other new things), I've been using Arch for almost two and a half years, so I even haven't tried the new Installation Framework (hopefully tomorrow a friend will install Arch, so I will have a chance). Many other errors must be in the grammar, I'm pretty lousy at English as you can see.  And finally, maybe I just forgot something you may think that should be in the cheat sheet or something I put, but in the wrong way.
Anyway, hope somebody find it useful or like to help, the link is: http://elzoona.com.ar/archcheatsheet
P.S.: The PDF was made using OpenOffice Draw, but, after many years, I still can't use offimatic software, so If anybody knows a better option please tell me (if you download the ODG will see that indentation was done with four spaces...).

    Typos fixed.
Xyne wrote:I like the overall idea but I worry that the pacman command section might encourage laziness. I think you should emphasize the importance of the pacman man page along with some others to make it clear that most information is readily available from the command line.
Yeah, could it be. My attempt was to give a quick reference for common commands, to avoid reading all the man page when you only can't remeber wich one was the, i.e., --foreign switch. But encourage to read a lot more by giving the "pacman -[Q|R...] --help" section. The whole idea of the cheat sheet it's to remind a simple command you know that exists but can't remember the name or a specific switch. Anyhow, to include the "look for man pages, they still exists" could be an excellent idea (you know, this times when everything is a wiki or a search button away) because reading trough man pages provide a lot of knowledge.
Xyne wrote:Perhaps an "important man pages" section would convey this. You could include pacman, pacman.conf and makepkg to start with.
Damn, I knew it! I forgot to include a single reference to makepkg command.
EDIT: Included a "useful man pages" at the end of some sections and 100% more advices for free! :-).

  • Linux Cheat Sheets (awk, ed, sed, bash, screen, perl, and more)

Hey! While learning various linux tools in the past, I made several cheat sheets to speed up the learning process. Recently I decided to put them on my blog.
Here is a link to all the cheat sheets on my blog:
cheat sheets at catonmat (my blog)
They include (some of the links include tutorials, as well):
    * awk (awk, nawk and gawk) programming language cheat sheet,
    * sed, unix stream editor, cheat sheet,
    * ed, interactive unix text editor, cheat sheet,
    * perl's special variable cheat sheet,
    * perl's pack/unpack and printf/sprintf function cheat sheet,
    * screen vt100 terminal emulator cheat sheet,
    * bash vi editing mode (readline) cheat sheet, and
    * bash emacs editing mode cheat sheet.
Tell me what you think and I hope you find them useful!
ps. I have 5-10 more to publish, if you are interested, check back and possibly subscribe to my posts via rss feed

Hi all! I just wrote a another article with a cheat sheet. It's called "The Definitive Guide to Bash Command Line History". This tutorial teaches you how to quickly retrieve and modify commands you executed previously.
It starts by reviewing the keyboard shortcuts for history retrieval in emacs and vi editing modes, then it covers the commands for listing and erasing the history, then it goes into discussing history expansion mechanism - event designators, word designators and their modifiers. Finally the guide lists variables and options to modify the default history behavior.
The cheat sheet comes in PDF, Plain Text ASCII and LaTeX:
    * PDF format (.pdf): bash history cheat sheet (.pdf)
    * ASCII .txt format: bash history cheat sheet (.txt)
    * LaTeX format (.tex): bash history cheat sheet (latex .tex)

  • Problem with Crystal reports for Eclipse and Postgres-databases

    Hi,
Is there a known problem when using a PostgreSQL-database to create a report with Crystal reports Plugin? When I drag a table, then occurs a error-windows, that the object can't  created.
I have found a workaround for solving the problem. After new installing Eclipse Platform Version: 3.4.1 Build id: M20080911-1700 and Crystal reports Plugin 11.8.6.v1371 with JRE 1.6.0_01 the error message allways occurs, when I select a table from a PostgreSQL database (Version 8.2). After restarting eclipse you see the last selected tables in the field explorer and you can drag the table fields in the report. A repeated choice of the same table causes aliases for the table in the field explorer after restarting eclipse.

    Best Regards
    Arnold

Your issue appears to be a Crystal Reports for Eclipse report designer thing, and not a JRC runtime thing.  The JRC runtime does support Type 4 JDBC drivers, but all modern PostgreSQL drivers are Type 4.
The current report designer is more restrictive than the JRC runtime - and PostgreSQL, being not on the supported platforms list, has never been tested with the embedded designer.
Unless there's anybody out there with experience with PostgreSQL and CR4E designer, who would be willing to share their experiences.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Eclipse --- and statement of direction

Can somebody please explain what this means in: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/service-bus/docs/Oracle-Service-Bus-SOD.pdf
+...The web-based console was complemented in the 3.0 release with full IDE support in Eclipse. The Eclipse capabilities will be ported to Oracle JDeveloper to provide a one-stop IDE for all SOA design needs. Until that port is complete, customers will still be able to use the Eclipse environment as IDE (in addition to the web-based console)...+
More specifically: what will happen to the Eclipse OSB plugin/workshop once the JDeveloper port is complete?
    A) will it cease to exist and/or be terminated?
    B) will it remain as is, without keeping the functionality in synch with new stuff in JDev?
    C) will it continue to evolve side-by-side with JDev?
    Thx,
    -J.

I think it is clear that Oracle will remain commited to Eclipse in terms of deploying java applications to WebLogic, they will provide some plugins for some time to come. You will however see oracle specific products, such as OSB, Portal, etc removed from Eclipse and ported to JDev. The reason for this is that Oracle can release new releases within their timeframe. If Oracle rely on Eclipse to deliver some functionality before they can release new products then they will be doing their customers a disservice.
This statement in the SOD clearly states that JDev is the strategic platform and the Eclipse IP will be ported to JDev in the future:
    Design-Time Environment
JDeveloper is the IDE of choice for SOA development at Oracle. AquaLogic Service Bus users have traditionally been using the web-based console to design, manage and monitor ESB flows. The web console is a key differentiator for ALSB (now Oracle Service Bus) and will therefore remain a primary design
    environment moving forward.
The web-based console was complemented in the 3.0 release with full IDE support in Eclipse. The Eclipse capabilities will be ported to Oracle JDeveloper to provide a
one-stop IDE for all SOA design needs. Until that port is complete, customers will still be able to use the Eclipse environment as IDE (in addition to the web-based
    console).
    cheers

  • APEX cheat sheet

It there a cheat sheet for building APEX apps?
A review of some code snippets shows x$ and calls to, :pxx and flows, and other syntax that I'm trying to understand.
So, I'm trying to figure out if this is a hybrid of PL/SQL and if so, what is the language structure, how to declare functions, vars, etc...
    Thanks,
    P.S. Yes, I've d'l'd the 2 day+ app express guide...

I've used this one before (not mine):

I installed Adobe Flash Builder 4 as a plugin for Eclipse for J2EE developers (galileo Eclipse Build id: 20100218-1602). The code highlighting doesn't work for mxml files, and the Outline view doesn't work for either MXML or AS files.
When I start it stand-alone, it works fine...
Can somebody help me out as to how I can get this going to work as a plugin with eclipse galileo?

  • Flash Builder 4 plugin with eclipse 3.6

    Hi all,
Previously I have used the flash builder 4 plugin with Zend Studio 7.2 (eclipse 3.4) and it worked flawlessly.
I have now upgraded to Zend Studio 8.0 (eclipse 3.6) and the Flash Builder installer complains that the 'dropins' folder does not exist. I force the installation to continue, and as expected, Flash Builder did not integrate with Zend Studio.
Does anyone have any tips as to how I can get Flash Builder 4 working in eclipse 3.6?
    Thank you!

I experimented with the latest Zend Studio 8 trials on both platforms yesterday, and it looks a little different depending on which platform you're using:
On OS X, because Zend Studio is now contained entirely within the app bundle, it's tricky navigating to the proper eclipse folder with our Plug-in Utility. As it turns out, the Zend dropins folder does exist if you look down low enough:
    /Applications/Zend Studio.app/Contents/Resources/Java/dropins
When I typed that path into the Burrito Plug-in Utility manually, it found the dropins folder, and proceeded to install the link without complaint. However, the Zend dropins folder is not working properly on OS X either, as already found on Win, so it's not using the link.
On Win, Zend Studio 8 doesn't include the dropins folder in the first place, as noted earlier. Apparently, Zend doesn't have its dropins folder enabled on either Mac or Win.
To see if this problem is specific to dropin links, I downloaded the latest Orbit plugins from eclipse.org and tried adding those directly to the Zend dropins folder, instead of using a link. Zend doesn’t appear to recognize them either.
I'll check with our contact at Zend to see what happened.

  • "Cheater Sheet"?

I am trying to get up to speed on FCE. I have no experience in video editing so this is a challenge. When I first used Photoshop (v2.5) back in the day I had a cheat sheet that listed what all the tools did and their hot keys. Can something like this be found someplace by any chance? And I hope no one will suggest that I print out the 1000+ page manual. However I am wading through it as needed.
Thanks in advance for any help you can send my way.

Get a copy of Tom Wolsky's book Final Cut Express 2 Editing Workshop and/or a copy of his Final Cut Express HD Made Easy DVD-ROM. There is also a QuickReference card packaged with FCE, or you can download a copy from the Apple support website.

  • The diff between WLI and Workshop

I hear people use 2 terms WLI (WebLogic Integration -?) and Workshop interchangeably.
Do these two terms represent the same thing? What are the differences if any?
When i click on WLI at dev2dev i get Workshop doc. So, why not to use 1 term?
    Thanks,
    Greg the Pro

You can think of WLI as a separate product that Workshop knows how to
integrate with (and is currently the only practical way to develop WLI
    components with).
It's separate because Workshop is a general IDE that is also used for
other J2EE development and Weblogic functions.
Think of another IDE like Eclipse being Workshop. Then think of how
Eclipse can have built-in integration with things like Ant and XML.
Eclipse isn't Ant or XML, it's an IDE that can be used with it. WLI
would be a product like this.
If you need any more clarification, I'd suggest trying out the products
and reading the docs for a bit.
    Thanks

    Thanks Steve,
Still it's not clear. Can you exemplify ? Is WLI a subfunction of the Workshop?
Is WLI a separate product? If yes, why?

    Steven Ostrowski <[email protected]> wrote:
They're not the same thing. Workshop is a general IDE plus some
framework code that can be used with either just Weblogic Server, or
    with the entire Weblogic Platform.
WLI is an extension to the Weblogic Server + Workshop framework that
supports things like business process management, worklist, etc. You
    can
also edit WLI components in Workshop.

  • How to show Html5 created in eclipse and link to any cloud application like c4C through HCP

    Hi Experts,
How to show Html5 created in eclipse and link to any cloud application like C4C through HCP
    Regards,
    Vijay.

Your question is very unclear, please elaborate what you are trying to achieve.
Also, did you click on the Alert Moderator link? This is for reporting abusive content, spam, points cheating, etc. It should not be used w/o a reason (one of the above) as what it does is putting the content in the Moderators' queue and hiding it from public view.

  • Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close.

    Hi All,
The report builder in my system is behaving weirdly. If I open a report, which is having a normal browser output, it allowing me to see the data model, layout model and everything. And if I open a report, which is having a PDF output, it's not allowing me to open the Layout.
Here the output is in context of Oracle Applications front-end. And as I know it shouldn't be a problem with Report Builder.
It errors out with the following message.
Reports Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
And the error report contains the following message.

I have tried reinstalling the software a minimum of 10 times, but no luck. At last I got my system formatted and tried. For the first time it worked for me, then I installed Forms Builder... then again I am getting the same problem even though I have different homes for Reports and Forms.
Is it problem with my system or the Operating System or the version of the Oracle Developer?
Can anyone please help me out?
    Thanks in advance,
