Building web project with ANT

Hi,
I am using jdeveloper 11g TP4 , and for building my web application i am using Jdev,
but now for some extra work i am using ANT, so my requirement is when i am doing make(build) of my web project it should run that Ant file (build.xml)
i have checked the run/debug configuration but not able to run the ant implicitly..
can anybody knows ..
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the only answer but when I want to run an ANT file for my project I do right click on my build.xml and simply run the target I want to run. On the other hand, you can configure your RUN profile and play a bit to see if its possible to configure in there ANT to be run automatically when you run your project by using JDeveloper itself.

  • Not able to create a web project with jsf or jsp or struts or spring

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a dynamic web project with jsf or jstl or struts or spring or any of web options available for a web project, but I am not able to do it.
    When I choose any of these options, the wizard asks me to "select an existing jstl/jsf/Spring 2.0 library, or click Add to add a new library." and since it doesn't show any existing libraries there, I clicked on add new library. When I click add, it opens a new dialog box where it has two options :
    1. to use spring/jstl/jsf lib from bea web site - when I choose this option, it tries to connect to the bea web site and gives me error that "connect time out". I don't know why it is not able to connect to the internet. I am not able to see the help also. There it gives error "The requested URL could not be retrieved".
    2. to use libraries from an existing spring installation - I provide the path of a directory where spring lib are, but then it gives me error that this is not a valid installation.
    On another machine, I am able to see the help contents, but still not able to get these libraries from the bea site.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sushma

    Hi Sushma,
    The issue you are facing has been addressed and will be part of the next release. For the current release, please follow the steps listed below.
    Send an email to [email protected] with details on specific facets you are trying to enable on your project.
    You will be provided with a url where you can download the required jars and details on how to manually add the jars to the workspace which will prevent the download on demand scenario.
    Cheers

  • Is it possible to build a project with Labview 2010 on a Windows XP system, that is useful for a system with windows 7 on it?

    Hi there,
    I am planning to use Labview 2010 in a short time.
    But before I'm going to use it I have some questions.
    I know it is possible to run Labview 2010 in an XP environment. But is it also possible to, when running Labview 2010 on a XP system, to build a project to a version that is useful in a Windows 7 environment?
    Or do I have to run Labview 2010, when I want to build a project that is useful on a Windows 7 system, on a system with Windows 7?
    Please give me some information.
    I hope to hear from one of you soon.
    Regards,
    Kenny

  • Debugging question (project with Ant)

    Hi,
    Could anyone tell me how to debug a project with Ant?
    There is no main class to execute.
    Only Ant script runs it as below.
    Thanks in advance,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <project basedir="." default="all" name="run1">
    <target name="all">
    <java classname="zeus.agents.ANServer" failonerror="true" fork="true">
    <arg line="Nameserver2 -t 0.1 -f dns.db"/>
    </java>
    </target>
    </project>

    how simple was that... Thanks Mark.
    Now I have another problem - how can I specify deployment targets when creating a new dataspace? I'm using a DspCommonCommands.py script, which targets deployments to any server and cluster in the specified domain:
    targets = wlst.get('Targets')
    wlst.invoke('createDataSpace',[dataspaceName,targets],['java.lang.String','java.util.Set'])
    which results in 2 problems:
    1. targeting projects to inappropriate servers (like AdminServer)
    2. targeting project to cluster and all servers belonging to that cluster (which results in errors when trying to start corresponding request_handlers application)
    I thought I can simply list the names of clusters I would like the project to be targeted to, but it results in:
    javax.management.RuntimeOperationsException: RuntimeException occured trying to invoke operation createDataSpace
    Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: argument type mismatch
    I can't find the class with createDataSpace() method to check what it's all about and how should I format the target names.

  • Building J2EE examples with Ant 1.3 on WinXP

    I just installed J2EE 1.3.1 and set all environment variables according to J2EE/Ant documentation. I am trying to build the examples with Ant 1.3 and just before it tries to compile the first example, I get a "NTVDM.EXE Error while setting up environment" error window. This occurs every time I try this examples build. After I close this error window, the compiles fail mostly because the javax.ejb package classes cannot be found.
    Have I overlooked something here? Can anyone shed some insight on this problem?
    -Ryan

    Didn't think I'd be replying to so many of my own messages :-) ..., but anyway the problem with the NTVDM.EXE error message does not go away. I found that it's happens when Ant reads the system environment in the "property" task in build.xml under examples directory:
    <property environment="myenv" />
    <!--
    references to ${myenv.J2EE_HOME} and so on
    -->
    So I replaced occurences of ${myenv.<J2EE_HOME>} with the literal value, in my case, "C:\j2sdkee1.3.1" and now it works. Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Lakshmi.

  • Building the ADF 11g project with ANT or MAVEN

    I want to automate the build process of my project using ant or maven. Is there already some build scripts for ant / maven. which can compile and package it using the structure which JDeveloper follows?

    Anthony,
    You probably can. However, since I wrote the original article, I have changed my way of thinking on this; at the time I wrote the article, ojdeploy was not working - now it is. Installing JDev on a build machine takes a bit of space, but it's not a big deal; it doesn't require a license or anything. If I were doing this today, there is no way I would consider anything but ojdeploy for doing the build - it guarantees that what I set up in JDev is what gets built. The one thing that could make me change my mind is if and when JDeveloper gets fully-baked Maven support, including keeping a POM in synch with any libraries added to a project, but that's neither here today nor a certainty, since Oracle hasn't made any specific announcements that I am aware of about the direction of Maven support in JDev.
    We did have a discussion about this on the [url http://groups.google.com/group/adf-methodology/browse_thread/thread/52f7aab00d201b4c/bec6e076a7c82520?lnk=gst&q=ojdeploy#bec6e076a7c82520]ADF Enterprise Methodology Group a while back, and I recall quite a discussion in the forums as well about ojdeploy vs ANT/Maven. I used to be more of a "purist" mindset (i.e. don't make me install an IDE on the build server), but if you like, don't think of it as an IDE in this function - it doesn't require a user to operate it, it's just another build tool that you'd install on the server. That build tool can be integrated with ANT using the ojdeploy tasks.

  • Compiling Flash Builder Projects with ant - error

    I'm fairly new to FlashBuilder as well as using ant to build projects.
    I'm working on a project in FlashBuilder 4.5. I'm using a 3rd party SWC that contains an alchemy-compiled C application in the SWC. Building my entire project within FlashBuilder is working fine. However, due to other parts of the project (not imported into FlashBuilder) I need to build with ant on occasion.
    The Class specific to the C app within the SWC is throwing errors when building with ant - it says it can not find the source. I had one recommendation to look into adding/editing something within the build.xml file, but I don't know what that addition/edit would be.
    Any help appreciated.

    Apparently related to switching workspaces... the error log identifies a path to an old workspace I changed out of weeks ago. I created a new workspace and moved the project (just the source, etc, not the settings) into it. been running fine for a while now... though funny how this problem didn't show up until yesterday.

  • Problem in build netbean projects with jaxb

    Hi, I encounter the problem which I dont' know if it is due to my pc memory insufficient or other reason.
    In my netbean projects, I add a Jaxb binding with a local xsd file, but when I try to clean and build the project, each time I have to wait for around 25 minutes, i think it is not make sense to build in such a time. As if I want to debug/run the project each time, it is impossible for me to wait like this.
    However, I have to use the xml file in that way, if I can't solve this problem, i have to write / use other method to "eat" the xml file for myself.
    Any suggestion or help is appreciated, thx.....

    Bishnu,
    Thanx for the response.
    My problem is whenever i do a little modification in the code, even if i just do some chanes & undo it then also i need to rebuild the application.
    There is a single project in my workshop which is pretty huge.As per your reply i am getting only two parts to check & uncheck i.e. If the project is "A" then i am getting A.work & project:A in the build box.
    The most important question: Do i need to shut down the server each time i make a small change?Even i have tried this by restarting the server,but every time i get the message that "the Controller.jpf could not compile."
    Any idea is most welcome.

  • Building weblogic ejbs with ant...

    Hi, it may be not the proper place, but I haven't found a better one...
    Here comes my question:
    I have an ant build.xml file where I have the following tasks defined:
    <property name="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb/deployment/xml/ejb-jar.dtd"/>
        <condition property="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb20/dd/xml/ejb11-jar.dtd">
          <equals arg1="${weblogic.major.version}" arg2="6"/>
        </condition>
        <property name="weblogic.ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb/deployment/xml/weblogic-ejb-jar.dtd"/>
        <condition property="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb20/dd/xml/weblogic510-ejb-jar.dtd">
          <equals arg1="${weblogic.major.version}" arg2="6"/>
        </condition>
    <!-- compiles EJBs -->
      <target name="compile.ejb" depends="init">
        <javac srcdir="${srcDir.ejb}"
              destdir="${srcDir.ejb}"
                debug="${npm.debug}">
          <classpath id="ejb.cpath">
             <pathelement path="${weblogic.sp.path}"/>
             <pathelement path="${weblogic.core.path}"/>
             <pathelement location="${outDir.core}${file.separator}npm.jar"/>
             <pathelement location="${srcDir.ejb}"/>
           </classpath>
        </javac>
      </target>
      <!-- delivers EJBs -->
      <target name="make.ejb" depends="prepare, compile.ejb">
        <!-- ejbc 'n jar 'em -->
        <ejbjar srcdir="${srcDir.ejb}">
           <weblogic destdir="${outDir.ejb}"
                     compiler="${compiler.ejb}"
                     keepgeneric="false"
                     suffix=".jar"
                     args="-g -nowarn"
                     oldCMP="false">
             <classpath refid="ejb.cpath"/>
           </weblogic>
           <include name="**/*-ejb-jar.xml"/>
           <exclude name="**/*-weblogic-ejb-jar.xml"/>
           <!-- WLS v5 DTDs!!! -->
           <dtd publicId="-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 1.1//EN"
                location="${ejb.dtd.location}"/>
           <dtd publicId="-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 5.1.0 EJB//EN"
                location="${weblogic.ejb.dtd.location}"/>
        </ejbjar>
      </target>This should build my ejbs with either the wls61 ejbc or the wls51 one. Anyway ant seems to have problems finding the local dtds in the classpath, although this is specified in the documentation. When I set both location attributes to point to files it works perfect. The problem is that these are in weblogic.jar for the wls61 release. This has two solutions, but either are bad in my opinion:
    1. extract the needed dtds to a temp dir with a jar task and then delete em...
    2. put the proper wls.jar in the classpath so ejbc could automatically resolve the dtds
    Can anyone help or may be send his ant build file, where a <dtd> nested element is used for <ejbjar> for wls61?
    Thank you in advance
    Anton

    Anton,
    Your second solution is the correct one. If you look at dtd element description under ejbjar task in the Ant manual, you'll see that vendors jars are required in Ant's classpath in order for ejbjar task to resolve DTD dependencies, in which case you don't need to specify dtd elements. I don't particularly like it either. If you find a better way to solve this problem, let me know.

  • PB with beans binding in a netbeans 6 java project with ant script existing

    Hi all,
    I am using netbeans 6.01.
    I want to use beans binding in a simple swing form created with Matisse designer. If i do beans binding in a Netbeans java project with existing ant script i have the following error :
    java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: No PCPE/PCPMI found for classpath/compile in MasterFileObject@25 .... etc
    Beans binding works very well in normal java project ( Java Desktop App for instance ).
    How can i make it work in an existing java ant script project ?

    You need to add the Beans Binding (beansbinding-1.2.1) that come with NetBeans 6 in your projects class path.

    place the *.jrxml files in your war (e.g. WEB-INF\classes\report.jrxml) and then in your servlet:
    JasperReport report = JasperCompileManager.compileReport("report.jrxml");

  • Best method for building a project with multiple video tracks

    I'm working a project where a client wants some edits made to an existing DVD they had - some video tweaks but mostly menu changes. I'm rebuilding the menus from scratch and I've ripped all the video files from the DVD (there are about 80 of them on one DL-DVD), transcoding them with DV-DVCPRO/NTSC settings.
    The problem is when I import them all as assets into my project build, the DVD disc meter shoots up to about 12 or 13gb. What I've done is added them all to their own separate track, as they're meant to be played not as one continuous video but individual sessions.
    What I'm wondering is if there is a better way to build it that would reduce the amount of space it takes up (I'm rather new at DVD Studio Pro, so I can't tell if I'm going about this the wrong way or not), or if I need to compress the video files or re-transcode them using some other settings (H.264? I'm trying to maintain as much video quality as possible).
    Any help on this would be much appreciated, thanks.

    What is the running time? You should encode to m2v and AC3. Take a look here

  • Building large projects with Phonegap Build

    Hi, I've been trying to build a large app that was orginally made with the phonegap 1.5 sdk for xcode and now I'm trying to convert it to android with dreamweaver. I've gotten samples to build and run on my android device emulator but the project I'm trying to build is 130 MB mostly because of sound and image files. When I open the phonegap build service and hit rebuild application, the bar on the top begins to load, but i never gets to "build queued" under the different platforms. After about 10 mins of watching the bar I get either a 404 error or a generic "failed to upload application" message. Is there a size limit to site size? I also tried uploading the zip file to build.phonegap.com  but I get a similar issue where the upload bar moves then after a long time nothing happens. Does the phonegap build service have a problem with large projects or could something else be the problem?
    thanks
    Will

    According to this thread in the PhoneGap forum, the maximum size is 10MB: http://community.phonegap.com/nitobi/topics/maximum_project_size. That answer was posted a year ago, so it might have changed. But I imagine that 130MB is still way out of the permitted range.

  • Update Portal Web Project with ALBPM WAR file

    I'm trying to follow the procedures for merging ALBPM WAR file and WebLogic Portal WAR file. See link below:
    http://edocs.bea.com/albsi/docs60/config_wls/index.html?t=enterprise/wlp/c_HEAD_WLP_Config.html#c_HEAD_WLP_Config
    I brought 08-workspace-wlp-FDIDS.war into WebLogic Platform. When I expanded it, I can't find WEB-INF/classes in the source WAR file as mentioned in step 4. I'm getting a whole bunch of "cannot resolved" errors. What exactly do I need to bring into WEB-INF/classes folder in the destination? Thanks.

    hi
    well if you can merge the two wars (using any of the techniques mentioned in the other post) then thats probably good. If you cant then
    a) you either have to use WSRP (it uses SOAP behind the scenes but all that is transparent to you)
    OR
    b) use something like a web clipping / screen scraping portlet (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/portlets/seltype.html#wp1011062)
    I'd see if the war's can be merged first , if not then I'd go with option a) ..
