Building large projects with Phonegap Build

Hi, I've been trying to build a large app that was orginally made with the phonegap 1.5 sdk for xcode and now I'm trying to convert it to android with dreamweaver. I've gotten samples to build and run on my android device emulator but the project I'm trying to build is 130 MB mostly because of sound and image files. When I open the phonegap build service and hit rebuild application, the bar on the top begins to load, but i never gets to "build queued" under the different platforms. After about 10 mins of watching the bar I get either a 404 error or a generic "failed to upload application" message. Is there a size limit to site size? I also tried uploading the zip file to build.phonegap.com  but I get a similar issue where the upload bar moves then after a long time nothing happens. Does the phonegap build service have a problem with large projects or could something else be the problem?
thanks
Will

According to this thread in the PhoneGap forum, the maximum size is 10MB: http://community.phonegap.com/nitobi/topics/maximum_project_size. That answer was posted a year ago, so it might have changed. But I imagine that 130MB is still way out of the permitted range.

  • Developing Large Projects with JDeveloper

    i have 2 questins :
1 - i don't know is it possible to develop large project such as a total system
with about 20 subsystems and 1000 forms and reports with jdeveloper?
2 - we have planed to build a webapp for each subsystem that it contains MODEL and VIEWCONTROLLER project.with this idea we cann't link from one VIEWCONTROLLER to anather in anather project, for example user can not go to another page from anather project without logon again.
now my very immportant problem is comunication between pages in different projectsand maintain different objects such as USER object between pages.
do you think that building such project with only one application with one MODEL and one VIEWCONTROLLER is correct or building it in differt project is better?
could you please tell me that what is your idea to develop large project with jdeveloper?

    dear jan,
I want my users to authenticate once, and have access to the subsystems they are authorized for.
but there is a problem in development and that is with this type of large projects you will have in Model Proj. a lot of AM , EO , VO and in View Proj. a lot of JSPX and XML file. and if i make only one App with one Project for Model and One Project for View, during development for example i want work on one subsystem and others on other susystem. and when i change 1 jspx file i should deploy TOTAL SYSTEM with 20 subsystems completely and i think this is'nt strategy for development.
i think it's good to develop any subsystem in one app with Model and View and finally deploy any subsystem separately.
    thanks for your reply

  • How do I select all clips in a large project with out individually select each clip?

I have a large project with ~1000 clips (still jpgs).  My question is how do I select all of the clips without individually selecting each clip?

Thanks for the reply with additional information.
The suggestion given would be applicable to your Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7.
As an aside, have you updated 12 to 12.1 yet? If not, please do so using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. The major perk of the update
is that it corrects an Expert workspace Text/Style issue. There are other less defined advantages included.
Please let us know if the suggestion for Select All worked for you.

  • How to copying, comparing and control large projects with deeply arranged directory tree?

    MacBook Pro, Redina, Mid 2012.
When copying large projects with su and sub-subdirectories some files are copied with 0-data and other files are not at all.
Is there a command to copy and compare files with deeply branched directory?
To copy level by level of the directory is very time-consuming.

    Hi,
Its good that u pasted the complete log file. In your environment you have to run this upgrade tool only once from any of the middle tier.
And with respect to your error that u got in precheck is quite simple. All u have to do is just run this script from by connecting to portal schema using sqlplus.
    Run dropupg.sql
    Location-------- /raid/product/OraHome_1/upgrade/temp/portal/prechktmp/dropupg.sql
Later you re-run the upgrade tool and let me know the status.
    Good luck

  • Best practices for organizing a large "project" with multiple programmers

should i put everyone in one application? should everyone get their own applcation? my understanding (limited) is the level of granularity for CVS is the application. sounds to me like multiple developers checking the same application in and out would be a disaster. if every developer has there own application what problems will i have deploying. how do i handle my configuration (navigation) diagram? any thoughts would be appreciated.

  • IOS packager throws java.lang.OutOfMemoryError when packaging large projects

Crosspost from stackoverflow, I figured this forum might have some insights too!
I've been porting a Flex 4 codebase to iOS using the adobe packager, but have run into a snag when trying to package our whole codebase. The packager runs for a while and then throws an OutOfMemoryError - even if I increase the java heap size to 4GB.
No single piece of code seems to be causing the problem, as it compiles successfully if I cut out large chunks of code, and I can change which chunks I'm omitting. It might be related to the size of the code itself.
I've logged a very detailed bug report with adobe here: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-32192 . It includes an AIRI file that you can package to reproduce the issue, a ruby script that generates actionscript code to generate that AIRI file, and a summary of all of the things I tried before logging the bug.
Has anyone else tried compiling large projects with the iOS packager? Are there any known workarounds?

Thanks for reporting the issue, we are working on it, hopefully it will be available in next major version of AIR.
To know more about it, you might want nominate yourself for our prerelease program at this link.

  • How to export project with dual monaural instead of stereo?

I have a very large project with many audio tracks and they are all adjusted right now so they sound right on a balanced stereo system, but I want to make sure the final sound isn't corrupted by someone having their channels adjusted unevenly, so I've decided to sacrifice any stereo effect and output dual identical monaural channels...but I'm not sure the easiest way to do it. Is using Quicktime Conversion and checking "monaural" a way? Or is there someway to do it inside the program...but not irreversibly?
I appreciate any help anybody can give me.

I was over at a friends yesterday I had given him a copy of my dvd and he had said the sound was horrible..that in many places the bkgd music totally overpowered the dialogue and in other places in the program it was just the opposite. Sure enough, he was right. It wa horrible. And I easily discovered the reason. He has a large screen HD TV and his teenagers have the audio from the dvd player hooked to a stereo and had the levels and the equalization set totally different for each of the two tracks.
And I think some other people at one time or another do indeed disturb the balance of their stereo without even realizing it.
Stereo is 2 channels, Left & Right. What could any
user do to 'corrupt the sound' other than change the
Left-Right balance control on their amp, which most
    people never touch.

  • Lots of problems building a large executable with LVOOP classes

I have a large project that makes significant use of LVOOP.  It is essentially a test executive that sequences lots of different types of tests in a configurable way.  I used to use a ton of variants in and out of these tests so they could be used interchangably in the archetecture of my application, but when LVOOP came out I rewrote my test executive to us an LVOOP class called "GTSTest".  Then I have about 10 sub-classes that inherit from the "Test" class.  Each of those sub classes are the actual specific tests.  Here is a shot of the project:
You can see I am creating a main class called "GTSTest" and that gives me polymorphism of any specific kind of test like "Torque Center.lvclass" and "AutoLinearize.lvclass".  It works fantastic in the development environment.
My problem now is I can't build anything with any of the LVOOP stuff into an executable.  I originally added all the classes as dynamic vi's because some of them pop up their front panels.  An application engineer suggested taking them out of the dynamic vi's section, but that didn't make any difference.  Here is the error I am getting:
    TestExec Build error:

Autolinearize.ctl is the alphebetical first class's private data definition.  So what's going on?  I made all the classes dynamic and it gives me the error.  I made none of the classes dynamic and it gives me the error.  But actually I know I'm going to need at least some methods of all the classes dynamic because a couple of the methods get subpanelled in the program so I need the front panels.
I've searched everywhere and I see no documentation at all about how to build LVOOP into an executable.  But clearly you need to do something special for this to work.  Can anyone help me?

    I got 99 problems but 8.6 ain't one.

OK I figured out what is going on.
RULES FOR CREATING EXE’S WITH LVOOP
    1.      Do not put any lvclass or any “dynamic vi” of any lvclass in the “Dynamic vi’s and Support Files” section of the source files tab in the build window.  Yes I know they are called “dynamic vi’s” in the LVOOP structure and one would assume you may need the front panels etc., but somehow they get loaded in automatically and if you explicitly include them as dynamic vi’s I think they conflict with themselves somehow.  If you do this you will get the following error:
Error 13 occurred at Invoke Node in ABAPI Dist read linkages.vi->ABAPI Dist Cmp Settings to Disk Hier.vi->ABAPI Get Settings From File2.vi->EBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi->EBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi->EBUIP_Build_Rule_Editor.vi->EBUIP_CreateNewWizard_Invoke.vi->EBUIP_CreateNewWizard_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  File is not a resource file.
    =========================

Method Name: Linker:Read Info From File
    O:\Software\MfgTest\Galvo Test Station (GTS)\Classes\Tests\Auto-Linearize\AutoLinearize.lvclass\AutoLinearize.ctl
In this case “Autolinearize.ctl” is the first class definition in the build.
    2.      In the additional Exclusions section, you cannot use the “Remove as much as possible” option.  This disconnects typedef definitions, and I think it is misinterpreting lvclasses and trying to disconnect the class definitions, which breaks the application.  Of course, you don’t get any reasonable error message when this happens.  It will give you an error 1502 as shown below:
An error occurred while building the following file:
    O:\Software\MfgTest\Galvo Test Station (GTS)\GTSExecutionMenu.vi
The VI became broken during the build process. Open the Build Specification and enable debugging to include the front panel and block diagrams.
Visit the Request Support page at ni.com/ask to learn more about resolving this problem. Use the following information as a reference:
    Error 1502 occurred at ABAPI Dist Chg and Save VIs.vi -> ABAPI Dist Build LLB Image.vi -> ABAPI Copy Files and Apply Settings.vi -> EBEP_Invoke_Build_Engine.vi -> EBUIP_Build_Invoke.vi -> EBUIP_Build_Rule_Editor.vi -> EBUIP_Item_OnDoProperties.vi -> EBUIP_Item_OnDoProperties.vi.ProxyCaller
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  Cannot save a bad VI without its block diagram.
“GTSExecutionMenu.vi” was my highest level vi that included any lvclass wires.  Maybe that’s why it returned its name.  Anyway what is really happening is some screw up where it breaks any vi containing any lvclass.  If you enable debugging the application will work, but then if you connect to it from the development environment it will suddenly break and you can trace down and see the broken class vi’s.  To fix this, the “Remove unreferenced project library members” option worked for me to keep the LVOOP intact.  Of course it blows up your exe a lot bigger because you are now including every variation of every polymorphic vi instead of just the ones you are using.  You shouldn’t have to do this.  There is a bug in the “Remove as much as possible” option which removes LVOOP definitions that aren’t possible to remove without breaking things.  I hope this helps for the next guy that tries to use LVOOP.

  • Is it possible to build a project with Labview 2010 on a Windows XP system, that is useful for a system with windows 7 on it?

    Hi there,
I am planning to use Labview 2010 in a short time.
But before I'm going to use it I have some questions.
I know it is possible to run Labview 2010 in an XP environment. But is it also possible to, when running Labview 2010 on a XP system, to build a project to a version that is useful in a Windows 7 environment?
Or do I have to run Labview 2010, when I want to build a project that is useful on a Windows 7 system, on a system with Windows 7?
    Please give me some information.
I hope to hear from one of you soon.
    Regards,

  • Error syncing Project - Fails at migration of large revision (with 35000 adds)

    Hello Microsoft!
We have managed to migrate large projects before. But this time we are getting errors, at a point where the tool tries to migrate a check-in with large (35000) adds. It then re-tries to process the 35000 adds and again fails, then re-tries.
There are large adds in this revision because the user has checked-in a large lot of files at one time.
The tool logs show that it is sometimes able to process 1000, sometimes 4000, sometimes 7000; I have even seen it reaching upto 21000 of 35969 adds. Not sure why this is happening!
Below are logs. Please will you help us find solution to this.

    Hi Nachiket,
From the error message, seems the transport connection was lost during the migration process. You have to make sure the connection works between the two side. You  can delete the team foundation cache and try again. Also refer the blog to see if the
    issue cab be resolved:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/taylaf/archive/2010/02/10/team-foundation-server-unable-to-read-data-from-the-transport-connection-an-existing-connection-was-forcibly-closed-by-the-remote-host.aspx
You can also exclude some of the pending chagnes items, and do the migrate for less pending changes each time if you can migrate thousands adds. Also refer to this
page to limit the uploadchunksize. If the issue persists, please elaborate more details about your scenario.

  • OutOfMemoryError with large projects

getting java.lang.OutOfMemoryError when trying to use on large projects via ant, this is after setting both JAVA_OPTS and ANT_OPTS to "-Xmx1024m -Xms512m"

    Hi James,
Presently, we never evict a DB after it's opened or encountered during recovery. Each DB takes about 2,000 bytes. So if you have 16K DBs you need approximately 32MB of memory, assuming all of them could be opened or recovered during a process lifetime. Unfortunately, even closing them does not cause them to be evicted. If you encounter them during recovery, this will also pull them into memory.
We have an FAQ entry on this:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/berkeley-db/faq/je_faq.html#37
So you will need a bigger cache size. If you are encountering this during recovery, then you could try a more frequent checkpoint interval.
    I hope this is useful.
    Regards,
    Charles Lamb

  • Solution to iPhoto spinning beach ball for Book projects with too many unplaced photos

A few days ago I discovered the solution to this problem for a client using iPhoto 9.5.1 in OS X Mavericks 10.9.4.
    =====
TRIED ALL KNOWN SUGGESTIONS BUT NONE HELPED
My client had already tried repairing, rebuilding etc. the iPhoto Library, and I tried OS X's Disk Verify and Repair Permissions plus emptied the cache folder in system Library and in the hidden user Library folder (option-key "Go" menu, Library). None of this helped.
    CLUE TO PROBLEM
I noticed several of her iPhoto Book projects each had thousands of "unplaced" photos. In each of those cases, each Book project only had 10-50 "placed" photos used to order the book but thousands of "unplaced" photos. In a Book project, clicking on the bottom-right corner's "Photo" icon-button caused an extremely long lasting spinning beach ball making iPhoto unusable for long periods.
I discovered the problem by clicking once on an existing Book project's name in the left column of iPhoto, then letting go of the mouse with its arrow cursor hovering over the selected Book project name. Within 1-7 seconds, a little pop-up appears listing the total number of photos (placed + unplaced) in that Book project. For many Book projects, the total number was just several more photos than the number of "placed" photos, e.g., a Book with 25 photos showed "(37)" in the pop-up info by the hovering stationary mouse, meaning 37 total photos (placed + unplaced) are associated with that Book project.
    BUT...
...some projects listed over 5,000 (five thousand) photos associated with a single Book project that had only placed 20-40 photos in the final printed book. One Book project had 6,070 and several other small book projects showed over 1,000 photos. In each Book project with a mass of unplaced photos, clicking the bottom-right "Photo" icon-button caused a very long-lasting spinning beach ball, almost certainly because iPhoto struggled to build a huge list of thumbnails for the mass of unplaced photos.
My client didn't understand how to efficiently add photos to a new Book project and was clicking on the pull-down menu in the right column that appears after clicking the Photo icon-button within the Book project. From the menu she chose "Last import..." or other menu choice that added a mass of "unplaced" photos to the Book project.
She didn't realize that after creating a new Book project, she could simply drag an individual photo or multi-selected group of photos or an event or "faces" group from its respective library section and drop it onto the Book project's name in the left column, thereby adding only a small group of "unplaced" photos.
    USER SOLUTIONS
=====Delete mass of "unplaced photos" within a Book project
This works best for cleaning up smaller number of unplaced photos from completed Book projects.
    Problems with solution:
    - if the number of unplaced photos is huge, e.g., 6,070, the list of unplaced photos won't appear for a long, long time if ever.
    - even if the list of unplaced photos finally appears, there's no way to select more than one thumbnail at a time, i.e., command-a for Select All doesn't work, nor do shift-clicks and command-clicks for multi-item selecting. You must click one photo then tap the "delete" key on your keyboard repeatedly and fast for this to be practical (note: delete key presses are cached here (meaning accumulated until it catches up processing them later); tapping the delete key like mad then waiting for iPhoto to catch up takes lots of patience.
====Delete an entire existing Book project containing a mass association of unplaced photos
This is practical if you've already printed your Book project and no longer need it. My client chose this method for Book projects with a mega mass of unplaced photos.
    Problem with solution:
    - for incomplete Book projects in progress with a mass of unplaced photos, you'd have to start over after deleting the whole thing.
    NEED FOR IMPROVED IPHOTO FEATURE(S)
    (1) The existing "Clear Placed Photos" button within a Book project might be useful, but it'd be even better to also have a button to "Clear Unplaced Photos,” and this button should be available outside of the section that struggles to display thumbnails of large numbers of unplaced photos. Clicking "Clear Unplaced Photos" would do the trick.
    (2) An additional iPhoto behavior might help: iPhoto should warn with an option to cancel when adding a mass of photos to the "unplaced photo" section if the number of photos exceeds ??? (400??).
    (3) Add another choice to iPhoto’s special startup Administrative window (Repair, Rebuild, etc.): "Remove unplaced photos from existing projects. (Doesn't destroy any photos in Library)"
    Whew!

Like I mentioned in the post, corruption was probably ruled out by running all the Admin features at iPhoto startup (e.g., Rebuild, etc.). I also stated in my post that I also ran a Disk Verify and Repaired Permissions in OSX (via Disk Utility). I also emptied system Library cache files as I stated in my post.
I was paid to figure out the solution and am not getting paid to troubleshoot for Apple. The more unplaced photos there are in a Book project, the longer it takes to build thumbnails. It's an old general problem in computing when building lists on the fly.
The delay happened for all Book projects with lots of unplaced photos (almost*** certainly more than Apple imagined a user would use), and the beach ball delay was proportional to the number unplaced photos, which super large numbers of photos.
I very much doubt photos are corrupt. But Apple will probably figure it out. It was EASILY reproducible. Try it with different number of unplaced photos known not be corrupt (they display fine elsewhere and iPhoto's and Disk Utlity's admin Verify, Repair etc features show no problems).
    I'm done with this.
My client's iPhoto works well now and she knows how avoid placing exorbitant numbers of unplaced photos into her project. I'm not getting paid to answer all this, so good night.

  • Organising a big project with sub-projects

So ,I'm laying out my project now, very large. Easily over 1000 topics, about 1000 images, some embedded, some not, variables all over the place etc., and this is for our generic help file.
I'm thinking of how to proceed with the other versions of this that will come in the future, i.e client specific help files with some sections removed that aren't relevent, images changed etc.
    Just wondering what people think.
    a) create a new project for each client iteration of the help file and share topics, variables etc using the resource manager? (this is what it is used for correct?)
    b) leave everything in one large project, remove topic in each TOC before publishing and maintain everything in one place.
Both are good ideas, maybe. if I have different projects, then I manage things individually and keep prject sizes low and organised. If I keep each topic in one place I don't have issues with importanting resources, keeping them all shared properly and potentially losing things and everything is centralized, though things could become very big and maybe RH will start to slow down......
I also worry about the Resource manager and where its storing things that I import into it, and if they are lost/corrupted then other links etc might die also....
    cheers.

"ah ok then, so to achieve output where I want some topics in and some not  I need to use the conditional tags, and basically I have to apply conditional tags to every topic..."
    Not exactly.
To control "some topics in and some not," different TOCs and different layouts can each be used, in addition to conditional tags.
And no, you do not "have to apply conditional tags to every topic." As Peter said, topics with no conditional build tag will be included in every output. You might find variables to be more useful if you're looking at branding or versioning issues (the rest of the topic is identical for every output, and would not need conditionalizing).
Your best bet is to investigate what the output demands are currently, and what they might morph into in the near term and long term, such as whether context-sensitive help will be needed, whether print versions will be supplied, etc. You might find that the largest percentage of topics will appear in every output, with each of them containing a smattering of variables, snippets, and conditionalized segments of content (different screenshots, tables, etc.). You might even structure a merged help project so that certain outputs would eliminate entire project folders.
Bottom line: one solution is usually never the way to go...be good to yourself, and use all the features that RH offers. But again, do your homework now, to save yourself untold grief later on.
    Good luck,
    Leon

  • Best way to work on a large project in CS5

    Hello friends,
I've recently started editing a feature length film in APP CS5.  I've never worked on a project this large before (around 160 GB).  Since I've been just doing small projects, it hasn't been an issue to have my source footage on my C: drive.  I sort of forgot the first rule I ever learned: Don't keep your source footage on the same drive as your program.  So, I set up a master project, and then set up a sequence for every individual scene.  The idea was to edit a scene, the drop it on the master time line.  So I actually imported all of my footage and placed it in each corresponding sequence.  Seemed like a good idea at the time.  But then I started trying to edit a scene and my computer laughed at me.  It just couldn't process anything within a project that big.  So I started from scratch.  Moved all my footage to an external drive, deleted it from my C: drive and started over.  Now, I'm just moving a scene's worth of material in at a time.  So far so good, but will I get bogged down again as the project grows?  Even though I'm pulling everything from an external?  And if I probably will, what should I do?  A friend told me that I should export each sequence at a lossless format, such as the animation codec, then bring them back in and place them on a new master timeline.  My concern is that those files are going to be bigger than the original files, so won't that kill my computer, too.  What's the best way to work on such a large project?  I'm running CS5 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro, Intel Core i3, 2.10 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Windows 7 Pro (64 - bit).  Thanks guys!

It's both AVCHD and DSLR.  Are you saying it's too underpowered to do either of the scenarios I mentioned above, or both?  One way, I will just edit each scene, and export them.  Then, I'll begin with a clean slate, bringing those edited sequences back in and dropping them on a timeline in a new project.  The files will be huge, but I'll only be working with those files.  Nothing else will be in the way.  Then I'll just have to put them in order and do a few transitions (dissolves mostly) between some of the scenes, then export the whole thing.  The other way was to just build the entire movie with every scene as a sequence, editing them, and moving them to the master timeline.  Are you saying I won't be able to do either?  If that's the case, then I suppose I'll have to just edit each scene, export them, and then get someone with a monster machine to put it all together for me.  Hoping it doesn't come to that, but it's not the worst thing I could have to do.
