Bulk Option

¿Where´s Bulk Options configuration? In the idm/account/bulkop.jsp page I have 5 check box and 2 are marked by default, i need only one by default.
Thanks

Hi Adrian,
If you like what you see in transaction SREPO, I suggest you take a look at the free apps in Salt (saltapps.com) especially the Matrix app - it allows you to compare whole landscapes simultaneously, drill down and also analyze rapidly, it also provides the transport information and relative versions so that you can see why the difference is there and what to do to fix it.
Cheers,
Dave

  • ApplyMetaView Attribute in bulk options

Where´s configured applyMetaView attribute for bulk options? Is a check box with true value but I need false value

    Hi
Which bulk action are you trying to do?
I will assume a create which will use whatever you have mapped on the create user (Forms and process mappings page)
You can do it on an update also and the file looks like below
    command,user,attribute
    update,testuser1,newattribute
newattribute maybe waveset.newattribute or global.newattribute depending on where you are updating....
I think I understand what you are doing and hopefully this helps....

what is the version of DI or Data Services ? if you are using DS XI 3.0 (12.0.0.0) or DS XI 3.1 (12.1)
then this issue if fixed in 12.1.1, check the following similar post related to this

  • External user needs to open CRES e-mails in bulk, options?

What would the options be for an external user to open CRES e-mails in bulk?
My first thought is they could install the Outlook plug-in, but they would not be able to reply securly without the plug-in being configured for Encryption.
    Appreciate any thoughts,

If you want to simplify the opening of multiple CRES messages then there are a couple of options:
1 - If they have Outlook then the Outlook plug-in is one solution.  One issue here is although it is "free" you need a Cisco id with an associated service contract to be able to download the plug-in.   Also as you have noted you need to be configured for encryption to reply within Outlook, but you can still use the secure reply option if you open the CRES envelope "normally" (in a browser).
2 - If you send them envelopes with medium security then the recipient can "remember" their password in a secure cookie so they entry their password once and then for subsequent envelopes they just click open button.  No plug-in is required and any email client can be used.  You can set medium security / sensitivity in the encryption profile or in an x-header.
3 - If you send them envelopes with low security (sometimes called "no-authentication") then no password is required and the envelope just opens by clicking the acknowledge button (which replaces the open button).  The downside of this is that there is no authentication so the message is encrypted but anyone can open it.  Depends on your security requirements as to whether this is acceptable.
In my opinion option 2 would be the best and certainly easiest to implement.

  • SQL Server Bulk Copy

The performance optimization guide shows you how to switch between the SQL Server ODBC bulk copy API and SQLBulkOperations API but does not recomend which one works better. Since the default is SQL Server ODBC bulk copy API I assume that is the best option but I wish to test that assumption to see if that is true?

while developing form you have to mark use for Bulk option for the form attributes. Hope you have done that. else update your form. or just refresh(F5) once you are on catalog page.

  • CUCMBE3K Experience and Issues Identified

I have created a list below of issues and experiences whilst working with the CUCMBE3K.
For the purposes of this dialog, I will refer to this particular customer as “CustomerX”.
    Part 1: Pre-Sale Engagement Summary
Following true to the Cisco PPDIOO model, the CUCMBE3K was identified as the best fit for the customer requirements, both technically as well as functionality. Apart from the standard hunt groups, the main highlights being the following:
    Voicemail-to-Email notifications
    Voicemail for all users
Extension Mobility for the bulk of users
    Multilevel Auto Attendant
    Integrated E1
    FXS support for FAX
    Paging/auto-answer
The Quick Pricing Tool (QPT) is the recommended Cisco tool to scope and create a CUCMBE3K BoM. And thus, this tool was used. The BoM of which was validated by Cisco Partner Presales and the order was placed.
Issue 1: UCL Licenses arrived in singular form
The first thing I happened to notice whilst I was unpacking the boxes was the quantity of UCL licenses. Yes, I am aware of bundled licenses, and I select those wherever possible, however these were specific to UCL voicemail licenses. Now I am not going to into how archaic the process is of still having to map a license key to a MAC address – I feel this should be done in the backend and not by partners like many other vendors do it – so we will look past this fact. Where I do have a concern is having to spend hours online manually activating UCL Voicemail licenses (restricted to 10 as “bulk” option on the Cisco Online License Tool); only to find out later that the CUCMBE3K itself can only accept 1 license upload at a time – therefore increasing the hours associated to simply applying licenses.
    Issue 1 Summary:
UCL Licenses provided in singular form for UCL VM, despite ordering via QPT.
    Online license Tool unable to process more than 10 PAK’s at a time;
CUCMBE3K unable to accept more than 1 license at one time
    Issue 1 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests
Cisco, please fix QPT to ensure so that when you specify the amount of voicemail users it creates UCL VM bundled sku’s for VM UCL’s
Increase the ability of the Cisco online License Tool to accept more than 10 at a time.
CUCMBE3K team, please provide the ability to select more than one license at a time to import.
Issue 2: Wait time of 15 minutes before CUCMBE3K Web interface responds
Powering on the CUCMBE3K unit; like any engineer you would run a ping to the default IP address to indicate when the device has successfully come up and then you would connect to it via the appropriate management interface. The CUCMBE3K would respond to the ping shortly after start-up, however the web interface was not available. No documentation indicates that the CUCMBE3K actually takes between 15 to 20 minutes to start-up, before it becomes responsive and phones can register.
    Issue 2 Summary:
CUCMBE3K takes 15 to 20 minutes to respond after boot-up.
Nowhere is this documented yet when TAC case is logged, it is outlined as normal behaviour
    Issue 2 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
    Be patient
    Cisco, please update documentation
CUCMBE3K Team, please look at how this boot-up time can be improved
Issue 3: First Time Wizard Crashes/Issues and Web Interface
As per the CUCMBE3K documentation for version 8.6.3, which is what was shipped with this device. I did not use the “Bulk Import Tool” (which I will get into a bit later) and simply configured the first time wizard for a “single” site. The wizard itself crashed 3 times, where I would be working through it and it would simply hang and stop responding. So I would have to restart the device and then have to wait 15 to 20 minutes before I could try again. You are looking at 1 full hour of sole boot-up time as a result of this – never mind the crashing interface.
I just kept trying and then eventually got through to the “Sites” page within the wizard, which then presented another issue. For some reason the wizard would accept all my entries yet it would not let me proceed past the “Sites” Page. The only way I could get past that “Sites” page was to start the wizard again and then click “next, next, next” for the previous pages (that I had already completed) and then it let me through the “Sites” page.
When I submitted the completion of the wizard, my browser immediately displayed “timeout error”, after which I could no longer connect to default 192.168.1.250. I then tried to connect to the newly assigned IP address. It responded but would not let me log in with either the new or old credentials. I then heard the device restart…assuming that now it had applied my Wizard configurations. I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of progress bar for something like this?
I waited for the unusually long period (20 minutes) before trying to connect and yet this time I could not connect. Even after waiting for over an hour. Ping responses to the newly configured IP address were responding. Yet no Web service was available. I restarted it after waiting for over an hour and  half.
After the restart, I waited again for over an hour and yet no luck – I turned it off and I went home for the evening. I had wasted one full day on trying to give this device an IP address and login?
In the morning I powered the device back up and I could then connect to the web interface but could not access the CUCMADMIN page…I kept getting an error page indicating that cucmadmin is not available. After much retrying it eventually let me in and then I could log in for the first time post wizard configuration.
Now that I was in and working on the CUCMBE3K interface, there came a time where I had to log out. When I tried to log back in I received “An error has occurred during authentication. Contact your system administrator.” This seemed to occur regularly and logging-in twice seemed to be the only way to log into the interface (with the same credentials).
I could go on but I think you get the drift.
    Issue 3 Summary:
    Unstable 8.6.3 Wizard\Web interface
No progress bar for Wizards submission/config application
    Issue 3 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
    Be patient
Upgrading to Version 8.6.4 dramatically improved stability of Web interface (but be careful of country pack backward compatibility – install country pack first before upgrade!!)
Cisco TAC recommend using Firefox – despite it not being listed as a supported browser
Issue 4: All Email address field do not support [email protected]
This particular environment is quarantined, and hence they use a domain of customerXdomain.local.
This is not supported on CUCMBE3K, despite it being a valid email address.
    Issue 4 Summary:
No support for *.local on any email fields
    Issue 4 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (CSCub81401)
    No work around
Issue 5: 7900 Handsets are not configured after changes have been applied to them
Should you make a change to a usage profile and/or speed-dial etc, the affected handset then restarts and upon restart has those configurations applied.
This works fine with the 6900 series handsets however, not with the 7900 series handsets. You have to restart the 7900’s manually for changes to be applied. Not sure if this is related but I also noticed that after a CUCMBE3K restart, the 7900 series handsets did not register automatically. The just sit there indicating “registering”. So you have to manually restart them to get them to register them to the CUCMBE3K device.
    Issue 5 Summary:
7900’s do not accept changes applied to them via CUCMBE3K
After CUCMBE3K restart, the 7900’s do not automatically register to the CUCMBE3K. They require a manual reboot. In some cases this was seen to be an intermittent issue i.e sometimes a 7900 handset would in fact register.
    Issue 5 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (CSCub81366)
    No work around
Issue 6: Cannot assign more than 40 Speed Dials
An error is received when you try to add more than 40 speed-dials to a phone. Despite the phone being a 7975+7916+7916 handset (a tally of 48 speed-dials on the 7916 sidecars alone)
    Issue 6 Summary:
Cannot allocate more than 40 Speed Dials to handset despite if the handset can support it.
    Issue 6 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (CSCub83528)
    No work around
Issue 7: No Call Busy Forward to Voicemail from Huntgroup
There is no option to have a Hunt Group Voicemail. So if no one is available in the hunt group the call will receive an engaged tone. This is a feature typically expected for any current voice platform.
    Issue 7 Summary:
No support for Hunt Group VM
    Issue 7 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (CSCub83528)
Configure Call-forward to extension with Voicemail configured for hunt group
Issue 8: Extension Mobility Users unregister when not logged in
This was a significant issue with this engagement.
The CUCMBE3K unregisters the EM user when not actively logged into a handset. This means when you call an EM user that is not logged in – you get an engaged tone. Not voicemail as what would be expected.
    Issue 8 Summary:
No voicemail support for EM users that aren’t actively logged in
Issue 7 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:  Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (Bug ID CSCub83528)
    Issue 9: Bulk Import Tool
The CUCMBE3K supports a feature/tool called the Bulk Import Tool. Like the name says, it allows one to upload a large portion of user details and phones to the CUCMBE3K instead of manually adding them one by one.
The issue is that in the CUCMBE3K interface, a user configuration has both a “PIN” and a “Password”. The Bulk Import Tool does not have a column or field to specify the “PIN” and thus one has to go to each and every single user manually and configure their PIN.
    Issue 8 Summary:
No user “Pin” number support in “Bulk Import Tool”
    Issue 7 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (Bug ID CSCub86268)
Manual configuration of each user “Pin” field
Issue 10: Auto Attendant “Dial-by-Extension” Feature issues
It was noted that Dial-by-Extension is not supported for Extension Mobile users as well as Departmental handset.
    Issue 10 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (Bug ID CSCuc59234)
    No work around
Issue 11: Caller ID –amends user extension to external Caller ID
The CUCMBE3K amends the extension of the user/handset to the caller ID; so for example, if extension 123 (assuming 3 digit extension length) is making an external call to the outside world, the CUCMBE3K will present a Calling Number of 0x xxxx x123 (where x is the numbers of the dial plan)
This presents an issue if that extension number is not present in the number block on the PSTN side. I.e if 0x xxxx x123 is trying to call when the customer numbers purchased on the PSTN service only go up to 0x xxxx x100, the 123 call will fail. As a result you need to add a “Calling Pattern Translation pattern”. However this is not available in the CUCMBE3K interface and thus a Cisco TAC needs to be made
    Issue 10 Summary:
No option to configure Calling party translation via CUCMBE3K interface
    Issue 10 Fixes/Workarounds/Requests:
Cisco Bug/Defect has been logged (Bug ID CSCuc59156)
    Log Cisco TAC
    Other Feature limitations
Just some other feature limitation that I thought may be worthwhile listing
Auto Attendant – no multilevel function
No auto-answer is supported despite the handsets supporting it i.e. 6921’s
    No paging/intercom is supported
No modification of 7900 background images is supported – despite the 7900 handsets supporting this feature.
There is no file management interface, so no option/ability to manage firmware manually etc.

    Brian,
Thanks for being a Cisco partner, working with TAC on resolving some of the issues you faced and taking time to provide feedback.
We have taken the feedback seriously and will work on addressing them in upcoming release.

  • Best practice on 'from dev to test'move.

    Hello.
    My Repository 10.2.0.1.0
    My client 10.2.1.31
I am writing to ask someone what would be the best practice and most common_sense_oriented way to move OWB from dev to qa/test environment?
I have read a number of recommendations on this forum and other oracle docs and it seem somewhat tedious exercise...
At the moment i am either having to simply copy and paste (ye not very professional but works a treat!) then just re-sync the tables to point to correct location on some of the smaller of my projects.
Now i have a huge project with hundreds of maps with different source locations etc.
I want to move it into test.
My test environment is where we test ETL process before implementing it in live as oppose to UAT test.
I imported the tables into OWB etc from the test, now i want to move my maps from dev to test and this is where my HOW TO comes.
I have different runtime repositories on my test as per oracle recommended (same names apply to dev and test and live repositories for the consistency purposes). Importing the maps from the export of dev to test doesn't really work and i don't really want start tweaking with export files.
for some reasons the import only imports it back to the project the export was taken from.... (which is as useful as a smack on a head, in my humble).
copy and paste the re-sync all tables would be madness, misery and pain all in one!
So what do i need to do?
    1) OK i imported all the tables and views from the test environment into OWB
    2) How do i move my maps from dev to test?
    3) even if i copy them over - would i honeslty have to then resync tables in every single map (i am already crying by the thought of it)?!
It seem a little tidious to me.
I can imagine that there is no silver bullet and everyone have different ideas, but someone please share your experience on how would do it?
Here is something from the user guide and no matter how many times i read this - i just don't get how i can relate it to what i need to achieve.
The following quote is from "OWB User Guide", Chapter 3.
"Each location defined within a project can be registered separately within each Runtime Repository, and each registration can reference different physical information. Using this approach, you can design and configure a target system one time, and deploy it many times with different physical characteristics. This is useful if you need to create multiple versions of the same system such as development, test, and production."
As i said - i have all my tables imported from DB to OWB, now how do i make my maps to appear in repository on test? I can see the relevance of location to deploy maps into the test runtime repository, but before then i somehow have to make them to appear in my test runtime repository in Design and make sure they are referencing correct tables etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    Vix

    Hello Oleg.
Thank you very much for such detailed and very helpful reply.
You are correct - i have my Design Centre and within it two projects - dev and test.
Dev has all the locations pointing to the Development DB and it has it's own runtime repository/control centre configured.
Test has all the locations pointing to the Test DB and it also has it's own runtime repository/control centre configured.
I have one design centre and two runtime environments.
both dev and test have identical tables etc. I moved the logic over form dev to test (all the functions, procedures etc), i have also imported tables and logic from TEST DB to the test project.
All i want to do is now move over the maps from DEv to TEST. Which is not a problem (copy and paste are helpful), but then the copied maps are still point to the tables in Dev. Which means i have to sync it with test tables - i hope i am making sense here!
I was hoping that there is some clever way of just changing something to effectively tell table in the map 'to point to the table in this database'. If the map is already configured - the only way to do it is to sync the tables, which will enable you to select the DB and table you want your table in the map to be pointing to.
The reason i do not use imp/exp between projects - it is not really reliable. Have to then jump through the hoops ensuring all contrains etc are there. It is safer to just import whatever i need from DB - ensuring all my constrains etc are there.
I do regular exports as a means of 'having a backup copy of the project', but never managed to import anything from one project to another (was easier with OWB 9 where it was possible to amend the .mdl file). It works fine to import back to the project the export was taken from.
I don't have problems with the location etc - took me hours to set everything the way i wanted it to be and now all the deployments are going to the right schemas, DBs etc.
Is there are any other way re-pointing the tables in the map to another DB? Like in the falt files - there is an option to choose the location of the file. So once the location is define/registered etc - you can choose whatever one is needed fromm the drop down on the left of the map.
I hoped there would be something similar for the tables. Like a big bulk option for 'tick here if you want all tables in the maps to be pointing to identical tables in another DB) type thing. Guess something like bulk sync option...
Oh well, guess i just have to stick with sync option (sobbing uncontrolably) and it hasn't stopped raining here for days!
Once again - thank you very much for all your kind help and advice.
    Kind Regards
    Vix

  • CDC synchronization - how to make it perform

For synchronization between a transactional database and a data warehouse we've been using synchronous CDC. Performance is still somewhat an issue.
The situation is as follows (simplified):
EMP table. This is a large table (40 million + records) with a lot of mutations. The CDC log table contains about 3 million entries (records) each day, which are used to update the data warehouse. About 50% of the changes consists of updates.
The data of the describer view looks something like
    operation$;empno;name
    I;1;John
    UU;1;John
    UN;2;John
Since PK updates are allowed, all data manipulations needs to be processed to the data warehouse (to another EMP-like table). At this moment this is done via an old-fashioned for loop.
Since PK updates are allowed (and an additional functional identifier is not an option at this point in time) the mutations need to be processed sequential. Is there a faster 'bulk' option to do just this?

Maybe you can try something like this:
    MERGE INTO emp e
       USING (SELECT   cep1.operation$, cep1.empno, cep1.NAME,
                       TO_NUMBER (NULL) chg_empno, TO_CHAR (NULL) chg_name
                  FROM cdc_v_emp cep1
                 WHERE cep1.operation$ = 'I'
              UNION ALL
              SELECT   cep2.operation$, cep1.empno, cep1.NAME, cep2.empno,
                       cep2.NAME
                  FROM cdc_v_emp cep1, cdc_v_emp cep2
                 WHERE cep1.cscn$ = cep2.cscn$
                   AND cep1.rsid$ = cep2.rsid$
                   AND cep1.operation$ = 'UU'
                   AND cep2.operation$ = 'UN'
              ORDER BY cep1.cscn$, cep1.rsid$) c
       ON (e.empno = c.empno)
       WHEN MATCHED THEN
          UPDATE
             SET e.empno = c.chg_empno, e.NAME = c.chg_name
       WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
          INSERT (e.empno, e.NAME)
          VALUES (c.empno, c.NAME);:)
PS: Note that I changed the order (and name) of some columns in the "USING" query.

    Hi all,
I have a file in Fire bird Database (30 GB with .ydb extension).  which needs to be restored to SQL Server. I Have created a linked server and done it but it is taking very long time to update the

  • How do full and incremental Informatica workflow differ?

    Hi:
I've read that a custom Informatica workflow should have full and incremental versions. I've compared the incremental and full versions of several seeded OBIA workflows, but I cannot find how they differ. For example, when I look at the session objects for each workflow they both have a source filter that limits a date field by LAST_EXTRACT_DATE.
Can someone shed some light on this?
    Thanks.

To answer your question, they differ in various ways for various mappings. For most FACT tables which hold high volume transactional data, there may be a SQL override in the FULL session that uses INITIALEXTRACT_DATE and a different override in the INCREMENTAL (does not have Full Suffix) that uses LASTEXTRACT_DATE. For dimension tables, its not always required that you have a different logic for FULL versus incremental.
Also, all FULL sessions (even if they have the same SQL) will have a BULK option turned on in the Session properties that allow a faster load since the table is usually truncated on FULL versus Incremental. As a best practice, for FACTS, it is best to have a FULL versus INCREMENTAL session. For Dimensions, depending on the volume of transactions or the change capture date field available, you may or may not have different logic. If you do a FULL load, however, it is better to use BULK to speed up the load.
if this is helpful, please mark as correct or helpful.

  • SQL Credential Setup

I am attempting to set up an SQL Credential mapped to an SQL Auth Login in order to access files outside of the SQL Server, as explained briefly here.
I have created the credential with correct user and password and mapped it to my sql auth login, as seen below.
However, I still get the permissions error below:
OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)" returned message "The Microsoft Access database engine cannot open or write to the file '\\machine\shareddrive\sharedfile.xls'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view and write its data.".
    Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)".
I have given full rights to my credentialed login. I can access to shared file from any machine using that login. I just cannot get SQL to access it.
The SQL statement I am attempting to run is below:
INSERT INTO table SELECT * FROM
    OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0',
    'Excel 12.0;Database=//machine/shareddrive/sharedfile.xls;HDR=YES',
    'SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]')
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This one has had me stumped for days so far.

BOL says that OPENROWSET permissions are determined by the permissions of the user name that is being passed to the OLE DB provider. To use the BULK option requires ADMINISTER BULK OPERATIONS permission.

I am having an astoundingly hard time migrating one test email address (mine) from our current rackspace email address to my new exchange online. When I use the migration tool, I give it the 2 line CSV file (headers and 1 line of my address) and start the
migration it just hangs for a couple of minutes trying to authenticate, I assume to the rackspace server.
Maybe I dont have the right rackspace server name but I have tried rackspace.com, cp.rackspace.com, apps.rackspace.com and email.rackspace.com. My users use apps.rackspace.com to login to their email. I use cp.rackspace.com to get the control panel. I have
seen them called email.rackspace .com and I threw in rackspace.com for good measure. When I login at apps... I use
[email protected] as the login id. When I login to cp.... I use only rpierce.
I have tried many cominations of server addesses, login ids etc. and I always die in "Connecting and Authenticating to source server". Does anybody have any ideas here?

I realize this is a very old posting, but I just went through this migration process this weekend and wanted to share for future posterity.
So, if you want, you can use the Microsoft Exchange EAC Migration tool to migrate over your email from Rackspace. It worked fairly well - HOWEVER, it is only email and not your contacts or calendar, which for us was not good. If you still want to do this,
    here's how:
    1) Go to the EAC Migration.
    2) Add - Migrate to exchange online
    3) For pretty much any hosted exchange system, you're probably not going to be able to do nice migrations like Cutover. Instead, you're stuck with IMAP...which is also why you can only do your email and not calendar. Companies like Rackspace will not give
you enough access to do Cutover migrations.
    4) Upload your CSV file.
    5) For your IMAP server, type in your mail server. If you do not know it, you should be able to get it from Outlook. Go to your Account Settings. To get the proper server, you may need to go to "More Settings", Connection, Exchange Proxy Settings,
and copy the proxy server name. For our Rackspace server, it was mex07a.emailsrvr.com
    5) Name the migration and start it off.
Ok, so that does JUST email, but NOT calendar and contacts. We needed that. So, after a lot of hunting around and finding a couple of posts that helped, the only real option was migrationwiz.bittitan.com . It does cost about $11.99 an account, but it did
a good job. You can setup trials and run free migrations which migrate a few emails/calendar/contacts as a test.
When setting up the migration project, their system allows you to type in the source/destination servers, or they have a "I know my service provider" option. I clicked on that and was able to find the desired Rackspace server in the list.
Everything went real well, EXCEPT stupid me had done the IMAP migration and then the MigrationWiz. All emails wound up being duplicated. MigrationWiz keeps track of what it migrates and does not duplicate, but since I had all of the emails in the destination
already and then did it again, I duplicated everything.  I wound up having to switch to the "Classic" interface for MigrationWiz, selecting all accounts, clicking on Bulk Options > reset mailboxes, and reset the statistics and errors for all accounts.
Then I had to clear everyone's email accounts out of mail. Again, problem - DNS was already pointed to new server, so I literally had to go into everyone's account on OWA and delete off all emails that were before the DNS change.  UGH.  Then I went
back to MigrationWiz and started their migrations over.  So, much of that would not have been necessary if I didn't migrate with two different tools and if I had waited to switch DNS.

  • OpenRowSet without sysadmin rights

    Hi,
    When I execute
    SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0','Excel 12.0 Xml;HDR=YES;Database=\\LinkedServer\Share\TEST\emp.xls','SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]');
     I got error
"Ad hoc access to OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' has been denied. You must access this provider through a linked server."
I run it without sysadmin roles or rights. I give ADMINISTER BULK OPERATIONS permission to the user. Even using this user I can execute   EXEC xp_cmdshell  'dir "\\LinkedServer\Share\TEST\emp.xls"'
How to execute OPENROWSET command without sysadmin permission plz help me.

    Hi AK9841,
Quote: How to execute OPENROWSET command without sysadmin permission plz help me.
We don’t need sysadmin permission to execute OPENROWSET command, OPENROWSET permissions are determined by the permissions of the user name that is being passed to the OLE DB provider. Only to use the BULK option requires ADMINISTER BULK OPERATIONS permission.
For more information about OPENROWSET, please refer to the following article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190312.aspx
So in order to resolve this issue, please follow the steps as below:
Step 1.  Run the Following T-SQL
    USE [master]
    GO
    EXEC master . dbo. sp_MSset_oledb_prop N’Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0′ , N’AllowInProcess’ , 1
    GO
    EXEC master . dbo. sp_MSset_oledb_prop N’Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0′ , N’DynamicParameters’ , 1
    GO
Step 2. Drill down into the registry and Switch disallowadhocAccess value to 0
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.??\Providers\Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0
If we have done these two steps for the correct instance of our SQL Server (since there is a registry section per instance of our SQL Server), this issue should be resolved.
If you have any question, please free to let me know.

  • Adobe Bridge (CS6) - bulk action - JPEG Options must be OKed for every image

    Hi all-
I created an action script for a watermark in Photoshop CS6. Then, I ran my script as a bulk action in Adobe Bridge (CS6) against my JPEGs. However, the JPEG Options dialog/window appears for every image in PS. Is there a way to have this automatically OK (and at the highest quality) so that I don't have to sit and click OK over and over?
I am on a Mac btw.
    Thanks!

    Please help
