Business area issue in consumption items

Dear Sapgurus,
while doing in me21n with cost center k means consumptions system says popup error mesage, but in same in me21n tradable gooks i am not facing any issue.
Balancing field "Business Area" in line item 001 not filled
Message no. GLT2201
Diagnosis
The field Business Area marked as balancing is not filled with any value in line item 001, even after document splitting.
System Response
The document cannot be posted.
Procedure
First check your entries.

Hello,
Are NewGL and document splitting active in your system? If yes, you should solve this problem with using splitting function.
Otherwise, you can use business transaction event 00001120.
I explained step by step how can you activate BTE 00001120. I give you message below.

In this exit, you must update t_bsegsub-gsber field which t_bseg-buzid = 'T' for tax item.
But you can not split tax line items in this exit. For example in invoice you have 2 or more business area, but tax line item doesn't create for each buiness area (If you don't use document splitting functon). So in this exit you can only assign a business area to tax line item which is automatically generate while posting FI document.

    We have one Business Area for every company code. A substitution rule has been created to populate Business Area in Tax Line Items, while booking vendor invoice. The substitution rule has been defined as
    Prerequite
    Company Code = 1234 and GL = 1323232
    Substitution
    Business Area = 6668
    The system is working fine, when the Vendor Invoice is posted through FI. However, when the vendor invoice is generated through MIRO or MIR7, the Business Area is not substituted.
    In Table VWTYGB01, we have maintained BSEG-GSBER as a field allowed for substitution with Boolean Class 09.
    We have created the susbstitution rule for Text and Assignment also and the rules are working fine for all document posted through FI and MM

  • Business Place & Business Area in VAT Line item in MIRO

    Hi Gurus,
    I want to defualt the following values in the VAT line item in  while doing MIRO.
    1. Business place in the "VAT line item" to be defaulted from the "Vendor Line item".
    2. Business area in the "VAT line Item" to be defaulted from its relevant "Material / Expense/ GR/IR Line item".
    The same thing i have done in FB60 transaction by using a BADI. But the same BADI is not working for MIRO.
    What the BADI does it goes and updates the BSEG table for the fields "Bupla (Business Place) & GSBER(Business Area).
    But while doing MIRO the BSEG table is not called at all and hence the BADI which is used earlier is not able to update the fields and hence cannot be used.
    I feel the reason could be that while doing MIRO the BSEG table is not called directly but it is called through a Function Module. In such case a BADI will be required which will call the relevant Function module.
    Need your help in how to update the VAT Line Item's Business Place & Business Area in the MIRO document.

    Maintain the prerequisite based on the Transaction code.
    Copy the same logic used in BAdi for the exit created.

    Business Areas in SAP are used to differentiate transactions originating from different points/lines/locations in business. Let me give some examples to elucidiate:-
    A company (say, ABC) is a huge company and has a variety of businesses under it. Let us say that it typically operates in 3 different domains like machinery manufacturing, trading and assembling of machine parts. 
    There are 2 options here now -
    1. Either create different company codes for the 3 business operations (which would be the easiest and require no creativity)
    or 
    2.) Create each of these business lines into business areas (the better option). 
    The advantages of using the second option is:
    1. You can use these business areas if other company codes require the same areas
    2. The configuration is simpler as in case of company code, you would require to go through the entire configuration of creating Chart of Accounts, Fiscal Year variants, posting periods variants and so on. In the business area option, you just need to attach it to the company code and the rest of the details in Business area is attached by default from the company code you are using it in. 
    3. Using the options in controlling (EC-PCA, Enterprise Controlling, Profit Centre Accounting), you can even draw up Balance Sheets and PL statements for your business areas and hence this is used for management accounting in some companies (like HP, Dell, etc) when it wants to know the operating profits for different business areas/lines.
    The above was an example when the company wanted to separate entries according to the lines it operates in... the other case could be when it wants to find out profitability during its operations in cities and differentiates these cities into Business Areas...
    Business Areas are not much relevant in FI but are much more relevant in CO.

    Path: Img-enterprise structure Definition--Financail Accounting --- Define Business area.
    Same pathe: Assignment---Assign Business area to Consolidation business area.
    Same Path: Logistics General --- Assign Business Area to Plant/Valuation Area & Division

  • Business Area for Vendor Line Items during Payroll Posting

    Dear All
    We are in ECC 6 version of SAP. We are using Business Area for Internal Financial Statement. We are facing a problem with regard to Business area in Payroll posting. Business area does not appear in vendor line items when we make posting of payroll for multiple business area. We have setting technical accounts for HR. We read SAP note 203276 and it seems that it is possible. Can someone tell us what is the reason that business area not coming in vendor line item while payroll posting.

    That part we have already done. The problem only come when we run payroll and there are vendors belonging to several business area in that case system keep the business area field blank. In case if we set field status required system give error. That is why we run payroll by each business area we also have maintained technical account for 1001.

    Hi,
    In SAP we can determine business area with 3 diff rules.
    Oner is through sales area (Sales. OrgDist channel Division) second one is by plant and item division.and the last one is through Sales orgdist ChannelItem division.
    Can any one tell me what is the difference between DIVISION and ITEM DIVISION ?

    First, it should be clear about what is "Header division " and "Item division".
    Header division
    In the create order screen , we enter a order type e.g. OR and our Sales area.
    Suppose our Sales area is 1000/10/00, then this sales is copied to the header data and called as Header sales area also.
    The division here is called "Header division".
    Here ,header division is "00".
    Item division
    Any material is uniquely belong to only one "Division",which we maintain in the material master in the "Basic data 1".
    This is called "Item division".
    When you create a sales document ,system searches this item division and copies it to the sales document,which you find in the item detail.
    Now,coming to your question.
    In the , Sales document type, you have these two check boxes, "Check division" and "Item division".
    If the Item division field is not activated ,then system will not search the material master to which division the material belongs to. In this case the header division is copied to each item.
    So while you process various related errors will come.
    The check division field controls how the system will behave if the header division & Item division are different.

  • Missing business area in FG line item

    Hi All,
    We are starting a new company code that implements business areas. We've linked the business areas to our plants and division and also configured that the sales area picks up the business area from our plants and division. However, when we post outbound delivery through VL01N, the line item for Finished Goods account (in FI doc) does not get the business area. When we check the COS account, it has a business area. Only the FG account doesn't. Isn't it supposed to be automatically derived? Please advice what may be the cause of this and what we can do so that the FG line item would get the same BA. Thank you!

    My user has passed entry without business area.Now while he use to reverse it through OB08/F-02,the system is picking up business area.System should not accept business area.

    Hi,
    You can perform the following steps:  First you can try this scenario in quality then only go for production client
    1.Run F.5D&F.5E  - Make sure that document with no business area picked up in this transaction
    2.Goto T.Code:OB65: Deactiviate business area indicator  and save the data
    3.Again run F.5D & F.5E :  Make sure that document with no business area picked up in this transaction
    4.Post a JV in F-02  for reversal or try to use FB08
    5. Go to T.Code: OB65 : Activate business area
    6. run F.5D & F.5E : Make sure that document in spet1 should not pick up.
    Hope it should work, i followed the same steps earlier and able to resolve this kind of issue.
    Imp: If this transaction works well in quality client then only go for production client.  While doing the same activity in production client  make sure that no user should work at that momement, it means you should carryout this job, after office hours and when there were no users on the system. If anybody are working, their entries may flow without business area.

  • Ck40n business area issue

    Hi All,
    When the user is trying to release cost estimate using the transaction code CK40N, SAP system is trowing the error is "The field business area is a required field for the G/L account XXXXXXXX. this G/L account is a Inventory account. the field status Group is "G006".
    When i check the G/L account, the business area field is a required entry field. when i check the posting key is "99" the business area is a Optional field.
    Please explain me how to over come on this issue.

    I have checked in OT32, the business are field is in required entry field. Actually i have checked in the OBC4, there also the business area is selected as a required entry field.
    When i change the business area field from required to optional in the OBC4, there in OT32 the business area field also changing to optional automatically.
    can you please suggest me about this. because it is raised as a Priority 1.
    can any body please help me to find the solution for this.

  • Import business area issue

    Hi Discoverer friends,
    I recently created a buisness area with a workbook in development eul and imported into the production eul. I first exported the business area and workbook separatly from Dev/Test using discoverer admin.I then Imported the BA and workbook into Production in admin using the default settings except that - Refresh the object( the sub-box Preserve display related properties was not checked) I also refresh the BA. The imported workbook worked fine, but a workbook for another BA ( say BA1) failed to work. I looked into the issue and discovered that there were multiple BAs in the same EUL where the new BA (say BA3) was imported into. The folders in BA3 were 80% the same as what in BA2. However, the problem was in BA1 as some of the worksheets failed. I looked into the SQL for the failed worksheet and to my surprise, the query in BA1 joined with some of the tables in BA3. Please note: BA1 had no such folder and even no joint to these tables in BA3.
    It is either a bug or something I missed or did wrong with my import of the BA3 as after I deleted both BA1/BA3, imported BA1 only and it turned out OK for BA1.
    So What I should do to import the BA3?
    Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
    my Discoverer admin edition is 9.0.4. Database 9.2.4. Application server 9.0.4.2 and Discoverer Plus used is 9.0.4.45.02.

    It sounds as though you may have deleted the folders from the business area but not from the EUL. If this is the case, and the folders still exist inside Production, then when you import from Test into Production, the folders will be there attached to the business area.
    If you really don't want the folders you should completely delete them from the Test EUL, or are you saying that you did this? If you're absolutely certain that you deleted them from Test, then exported the Test business area and imported it into Production, matching by identifier, then it sounds like there is an issue. You may need to manually delete folders in both areas.
    You see, if a folder exists in production and not in the import from Test, how does Discoverer know that you did not intentionally not export that folder? I don't think it can detect that something is no longer there. Its a bit like saying give me the ID numbers of all the rows in the database that got deleted today so that I can go and delete them from the data warehouse. You cannot because they don't exist. I think your best plan would be to delete them from both areas, either that or delete the business area from production and reimport it from Test.
    Does this help and what do the other Discoverer experts think about what I have said?

    We are on Ecc 6.0 and We have a requirement of Different Business Area in Customer line while billing. Since we had defined Business area location wise and requirement is Sundry Debtors should always book to Location as maintained in delivery plant field of sales area data in customer master.
    Requirement:- Our material is assigned to Plant 115.In customer master, sales area data -> shipping tab  -> Delivery Plant (KNVV- VWERKS), we are maintaining "112", Now while billing and while generating Accounting document account entry is
    Customer 1000.00 (Business area=115)
    sales    1000.00 (Business area=115)
    But our requirement while accounting document after billing is
    Customer 1000.00 (Business area=112), system should check and derive the same from TABLE KNVV - VWERKS(DEL PLANT)
    sales    1000.00 (Business area=115).

    Suppose I am creating a billing document and the entry view & GL View is like below :

    Now Just see at the document. The Business Area is capturing correctly in VAT output for the first sale. But the VAT out put for Second Sale, the business area is blank. Where as the B.A. is perfectly capturing in case of both sales.
    It is the same scenario if Iu2019ll take n-number of products in an invoice. Only first productu2019s B.A. is capturing in the VAT output, while in others its showing blank.
    So kindly suggest me why is it so? & how can I show the B.A. in every VAT out put GL for n-number if Transaction in one invoice.

    Cause and prerequisites
    Postings to VAT accounts must be made without business area. The reason for this is that the field "Business area" does not exist in the tax data. Therefore,the advance return for tax on sales/purchases can also only generate postings without business area and these postings must correspond exactly to the original tax postings in your account assignments. Otherwise, the tax accounts would have steadily increasing business area balances.
    Solution
    You can use function "Balance Sheet Adjustment" (report SAPF180) to display taxes in the balance sheet for business areas.

    We have made some modifications to the postings at time of goods receipt. These postings are ok but some of the postings are missing the content for Business area and business place after posting Goods Receipt. The IMG has been checked for missing data but is OK.
    Any suggestions to how to get this information for postings after goods receipt or an advice about a possible place to make a change ?

  • Want to change profit center when goods are issued for  consumption

    Hi gurus,
    I am using FI PCA in ECC 6.0
    I have one plant
    I have material at plant level  (wheat floor)
    This material is used in production of more than one product. (different kind of bread)  Each product group is a different profit center. Thus material is used in more than one profit center.
    At time of receipt i do not know which product the raw material is going to be used for.
    In Material master just one profit center is maintained and it will flow to the production order and the inventory of Finished goods received later.
    At time of issue of  raw material  for consumption, i need to change the profit center.
    Is this possible in standard configuration.
    How do i go about it?

    Hi Rishikesh,
    There is one way you can do it. Define one material master set for each product group in t-code GS01 using table MARA and MATNR field. Then enter all materials which have the same profit center into each group. So you have sets M1, M2, M3 etc. which belong to profit centers P1, P2 and P3.
    Define a substitution rule for profit center under GGB1 using the following conditions.
    1. GL Account number for goods issue 261 (issue to production order).
    2. Material set M1
    3. Company code and document type (WA etc.)
    Profit center equals P1.
    Similarly define another substitution rule for M2/P2 combination.
