Business Intelligence Installation Error

I am having an issue creating a package within BIDS. So, far my PC has the following installed.
1. Microsoft Server SQL 2008 R2
a. Management Studio
b. SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Tools
2. Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
I originally had installed SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services, but read that BIDS will not work with SQL R2 Express edition, so I did an Edition Upgrade, to upgrade from the Express version to the SQL 2008 R2 Standard Edition,
which ran successfully. I thought that this would resolve my issue trying to create a package in BIDS, after rebooting but no deal. The exact error message I recieve is:
Microsoft Visual Studio is unable to load this document
To design Integration Services Packages in Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS), BIDS has to be installed in one of these editions of SQL Server 2008 R2: Standard, Enterprise, Developer, or Evaluation. To install BIDS.....
Any suggestions to resolve would be appreciated!

Is Busines Intelligence Development Studio available under All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.
Have you also installed Integration Services along with SQL Server?

I found the solution on my own. For whatever reason the installation fails with this error if you try to use a sql server instance that already existed before etup. If you choose to create a new instance during the setup, the installation succeeded (but
there is no new instance installed, but the one used that was in place before) - so to me this looks like a bug in the setup program.
However this solved the problem.

Oracle Business Intelligence Installation failing at Creating ASInstance

I'm trying to Install Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11.5 on Centos 6.3 x64 and it is failing at Creating ASInstance.

How to run portal with business intelligence installation?

i have a system suse linux enterprise edition 7.3. and my hardware is p4 cpu 1 gb memory and 80 gb hdd.
i installed oracle9ias r2(9.0.2) . my installation is "business intelligence".but my aim is to run oracle9iportal."
my directory structure is
/opt/oracle/infrastructure
/opt/oracle/applicationserver
/opt/oracle/appserver
one infrastructure and two applicationserver on one host.
i read the Oracle9i Application Server Administrator's Guide
Release 2 (9.0.2)
i have some questions
1-You can install multiple application server installations and infrastructures on the same host. Each must have its own Oracle home.
if so why do i need to change all times "@ORACLE_HOME" path according to others.? is there another solution
2-which steps do i follow to run portal?
3-must i run infrastructure structure before starting application server ?

I want to Install Business Intelligence in the Server where I have already Installed ECC6.0 EHP5 in windows server 2008 R2 as

Can anyone tell me the Sizing details for this?

Hi,
You need to install BI on another Server.
Please go to http://service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver 7.3 -> Installation.
The latest version we have is BW 7.3.
I suggest you to read the Installation Guide and Master Guide before installation.
Also check the below guide on Whatu2019s New with SAP NetWeaver BW 7.30 and BW Accelerator 7.20.

Business connector installation error

Dear community,
I am trying to install bc 4.8 x64 on win2008 R2 x64 std ed.server (in vmware).
When I run the installer (BCServer48_x64.exe or BCServerXpt48_x64) I get an error:
>business connector install could not find a java virtual machine to load
>you may need to reinstall a supported java virtual machine
As I understand it there is a sap jvm integrated, so separate jre install is not needed.
In any case I have also installed separate java :
>java -version
java version "1.6.0_24"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_24-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.1-b02, mixed mode)
but this does not change the error.
Win2008 R2 is supported according to pam and note 1094412.
I have tried using compatibility settings for win server 2003 but no change.
Any advice ?

Here by the way I fixed it:
First:
Make sure you have a JDK installed!
I used: JDK 6: sapjvm-6.1.043-ntamd64.zip
You can find it here: https://tools.netweaver.ondemand.com/ Press the Additional software tab.
Second:
Go to: http://java.com/en/download/help/path.xml
Here they will explain you how to edit the PATH for different OS. The Windows 7 fix works on Windows Server 2008 R2.
Third:
For windows Users:
When you have the Edit PATH screen open add the correct path that leads to your JDK.
For me it was: ";C:\Program Files\Java\sapjvm_6\bin" (Paste without the quotes but add a ; in front of your path)

SAP BUSINESS ONE INSTALLATION ERROR

Hi Experts,
I was installing SAP Business one PL5 on a client's computer.
During the Server tools installation we are prompted to enter a password for B1SiteUser. It installs successfully but during the SAP Business one Sever installation I get an error when I enter the B1siteuser I entered earlier.
Attached is the error .
Please urgent help will be much appreciated.

Hi Justice,
I had faced the same error while installing.
What you can do is first uninstall server tools
1)delete the SAP folder which would have been
created in the C:Porgam files.(Default).If its another location just check and delete it permanently.
2)Then in the MSSQL Server ->SQL Configuration manager ->Protocols for MSSQLSERVER->enable TCP/IP
3)Install the server tools and Enter b1 site user password again(this option will come only if you delete the SAP folder ).preferably use different password then what you used for Database password.
4)While installing the Server, keep open the SQL configuration manager the License authentication screen wont popup, directly you will go to next installation step.
It worked for me, hope it helps

While installing Business Content for the transactional data source "0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H" in the Solman, I came accross the following error-
"IC=0CRM_PRI IS=80CRM_CNFI error when checking the update rules"
Can any one help me regarding this BC installation issue?

See the error log for the same...there will be procedure to correct the same...just follow that...
Also see if IC=0CRM_PRI IS=80CRM_CNFI are active.

Diagnosis
When generating the update program for data target 0PROD_CATEG, InfoSource 0PROD_CATEG_ATTR, a syntax error occured in row 0.

Business Content Installation Errors

Hi All,
I need to Install SD cube : 0SD_C03 through Business content. Before doing this, In ECC I have activated the relevant SD datasource : 2LIS_11_VADHR in RSA5 and then activated the same datasource in LBWE also. Then deleted the setup tables in LBWG. Coming to BI , I have replicated the datasource .
In Business content tab , I have set Grouping Option as Only necessary Objects , and Collection Mode as automatically and selected the Cube : 0SD_C03 through Object Type in Business Content tab. Clicked on INSTALL option . I am getting many errors like :
Activation of Objects with Type InfoObject
Checking InfoObject 0MATERIAL
Attribute 0RT_SEAROLL from characteristic 0MATERIAL not (actively) available
Hierarchy characteristic 0CM_CDT1 of characteristic 0MATERIAL is not active
Like this I am getting 0VENDOR,0PLANT , 0CM_CTAR, 0CM_CDT1...infoobjects not actively available. I have tried Installing individual Infoject , still it is failing with same Issues.
Also I have tried Installing the cube with all the Options in Grouping Objects , Still I am facing the errors.

Oracle Business Intelligence Security: Error Suppression

Hello All,
I have OBI set up with a front end so users can access data. The users constitute of management teams & certain senior management people.
This is an out-of-box deployment. The web security assessment for the application revealed that improper query strings result in breaking the report/code & displaying the detailed error messages. Although the error messages do not show physical db details, the presentation layer metadata attributes does get on the screen.
I understand that the underlying info may be accessible using OBIEE Answers. Hence, I need your opinions & suggestions on the following concerns:
1. How could these messages be suppressed completely?
2. What attack vectors do I need to be cover in case there is no solution for error suppression?

I am not sure why your Web Security Team thinks that "detailed error messages" are a security issue. I would question that to be honest. In a standard Web Application "detailed error messages" are a security threat if they reveal things like physical DB names, physical table names, physical column names etc. as this could assist an attacker in targetting the physical DB. In the OBIEE case all the "detailed error messages" show is logical SQL which doesn't really show any physical SQL details. The conversion between logical SQL and physical SQL is done inside the BI Server so it's not exposed. The connection to the BI Server can be restricted to be only allowed from your Presentation Services Server so it's protected.
In any case you are dealing with a third party tool here. You shouldn't try to amend it. If your company finds any security issues you should raise an SR with Oracle Support and get them to fix it.

New to Business Intelligence - Installation and Configuration

Reading all the documents associated with OBIEE, OBIA, DAC server, DAC client, and Informatica Powercenter has my head swimming (drowning). Can someone throw me a rope?
I'm going through an eBS implementation with 11g DB and 12.0.6 eBS (all on Linux) and I have been required to install and configure all the above. In a DEV environment, I have OBIEE running on a vm Windows 2003 server and need to install OBIA and IPC. According to the IPC doc's this requires 7 pc's/servers. Can someone provide a sample (functioning) environment?
