Button Actions

Please could someone tell me how to adjust the attached code
so that when I place my flash Navigation bar in to my HTML Page the
event does not open the target URL in a new IE window.

If you check out the navigateToURL function in the Flash help
file you'll see the various options you have for specifying where
the new page opens.

  • Value  set in constructor is not getting saved in button  Action method

    Hi All,
    I am not understanding why the value set ( On Condition )in constructor is not hold in the button actoin method.
    Could any body explain me on that
    for this I will try to explain with sample example
    I have taken a button and add a integer property in session bean.
    now if session bean's property is even then I am trying to set the button value to bidNow other wise Accept Invitation.
    Till this opstion everything is OK
    but once I click on Button,
    Constructor is doing the right job only. But I do not understand why in button action I am getting the First Value only.

    Can u explain the reason for this

    Hi Sudhakar,
    Please try the following and you will get an idea as to what is happening:
    1. Drag and drop a button, 2 outputText components
    2. Add a property to the session bean called intValue of type int. Customize it to set it's initial value to 0
    3. Add the following lines of code to the constructor
    outputText1.setValue("" + getSessionBean1().getIntValue());
    getSessionBean1().setIntValue(getSessionBean1().getIntValue()+1);
    4. Double click on the button component to go to the button action method.
    5. Add the following line of code
    outputText2.setValue("" + etSessionBean1().getIntValue());
    6. Save and run the application
    7. Watch the values of outputText1 and outputText2 with each click of the button
    Also, try the application with the following code block in the button action method:
    if(getSessionBean1().getIntValue()%2==0){
    button1.setValue("Bid Now");
    } else{
    button1.setValue("Accept Invitation");
    getSessionBean1().setIntValue(getSessionBean1().getIntValue()+1);
    outputText1.setValue(button1.getValue());
    outputText2.setValue("" + getSessionBean1().getIntValue());
    When the above code block is in the button action method the values set to button are as expected.
    Hope that helps
    Cheers

  • How to view an Image in ABAP Webdynpro on button action

    Hi Experts,
    I want to view an image on a button action without creating a new view or window.
    I just need to display the image.
    Thanks,
    R Sahu

    Hi Rabi,
    Add Context Attribute "SOURCE_IMG" with type String.
    Add Image UI "img_id" in layout and bind its source with this context attribute.
    on any method where you want to change/show image dynamically, put this code :
    here url can be path to image on local or any url-path for web image.
    call method wd_context->set_attribute
           EXPORTING
             name = 'SOURCE_IMG'
             value          = url .
    I hope this is what you are looking for.

  • Command link / button action is not taking place if i use it in iterator.

    Hi,
    I am new to ADF, i am facing 1 issue while implementing ADF mobile browser application.
    Issue: command link / button action is not taking place if i use it in iterator. its just refreshing the page it self and displaying as no records.
    Scenario is i am populating the search results in results page from search page using iterator, i want to get the complete details in different page (results page -> details page) .
    I have tried in different ways.like
    case1:
    <tr:panelGroupLayout id="pgl2" layout="vertical" styleClass="af_m_panelBase">
    <tr:panelHeader text="#{classviewBundle.SEARCH_RESULTS}" id="ph1"/>
    <tr:iterator id="i1" value="#{bindings.SubjectVO1.collectionModel}" var="subject"
    varStatus="subIndx" rows="100">
    <tr:panelBox text="#{subject.Subject} #{subject.CatalogNbr} - #{subject.CourseTitleLong}"
    styleClass="af_m_listingPrimaryDetails" id="pb1">
    <f:facet name="toolbar"/>
    <tr:table var="ssrClass" rowBandingInterval="1" id="t1" value="#{subject.children}"
    varStatus="clsIndx" rowSelection="none"
    binding="#{SessionBean.subjectTable}" verticalGridVisible="true"
    emptyText="No Records" width="100%">
    <tr:column id="c9" sortable="false" styleClass="width:100%">
    <*tr:commandLink text="Section: #{ssrClass.ClassSection}-#{ssrClass.SsrComponentLovDescr} (#{ssrClass.ClassNbr})"*
    id="commandLink2" styleClass="af_m_listingLink"
    *action="#{pageFlowScope.BackingBean.searchaction}"></tr:commandLink>*
    //remaining code
    in this case commandlink action is not able to invoke serachaction() method
    case 2:
    <tr:commandLink text="Section: #{ssrClass.ClassSection}-#{ssrClass.SsrComponentLovDescr} (#{ssrClass.ClassNbr})"
    id="commandLink2" styleClass="af_m_listingLink"
    action="classdetails}"></tr:commandLink>
    in this case its not able to navigate to classdetails page.
    I gave correct navigation cases and rules in taskflow,but its working fine when the command link is out of iterator only.
    i tried with actionlistener too.. but no use.. please help me out of this problem .
    *Update to issue:*
    The actual issue is when i use command link/button in an table/iterator whose parent tag is another iterator then the action is not taking place.
    the structer of my code is
    < iterator1>
    #command link action1
    < iterator2>
    #command link action2
    </ iterator2>
    < /iterator1>
    #command link action1 is working but "#command link action2" is not...
    Thanks
    Shyam

    Hi,
    To solve my problem I used a af:foreach instead.
    <af:forEach items="#{viewScope.DataBySubjectServiceBean.toArray}" var="text">
    <af:commandLink text="#{text.IndTextEn}" action="indicator-selected" id="cl1">
    <af:setActionListener from="#{text.IndCode}" to="#{pageFlowScope.IndicatorCodeParam}" />
    </af:commandLink>
    </af:forEach>
    By the way you need to convert the iterator to an Array using a ManagedBean.
    public Object[] toArray() {
    CollectionModel cm = (CollectionModel) getEL("#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel}");
    indicators = new Object[cm.getRowCount()];
    for(int i=0;i<cm.getRowCount();i++){
    indicators[i] = cm.getRowData(i);
    return indicators;
    public static Object getEL(String expr) {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    return fc.getApplication().evaluateExpressionGet(fc,expr,Object.class);
    Hope that helps-

  • How to use the cases in button action?

    Hi Experts,
    I want to get a prompt message if the field is empty.I got it but at the same time if the field is filled I want the other action to be performed that is to call a BAPI and give me output.How can I give two events for the same action.
    How to use the cases in button action?
    So, please guide me.Urgent need
    Regards
    Nutan

    Hi Nutan,
    if I understand you, then you have a simple validation. Therefore you can use the validation functionality of VC for your components. An alternative could be by writing a new ABAP RFC function module like:
    BAPI Input parameters as input and BAPI output parameters as output and an additional return code or string for a message:
    IF I_FIELD IS INITIAL.
      E_RETURN_CODE = "THE FIELD IS EMPTY."
    ELSE.
      CALL FUNCTION <YOUR_BAPI>
      <BAPI PARAMETERS>
    ENDIF.
    I hope that helps.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel

  • InDesign Button Action for PDF – Open File (in new window)

    I am using the 'Open File' action on buttons in a document i am making which will eventually be a PDF, but am wanting to specify the button action to open the file (another PDF) in a new window.
    I have found that I can achieve this and add button actions with this specific behavior in Acrobat, but it seems to be missing in indesign's abilities as far as I can see. Is there a way to do this in indesign so that i do not have to tinker in acrobat after I have made my PDF. As if I have changes to the PDF, all buttons then have to be totally re-done each time, and i will have possibly 900 buttons!!
    Thanks.
    (Using indesign CS4)

    Jeff,
    You are correct. I want to have a DVD with multiple PDFs. The main one almost acting as a table of contents for the rest.
    Problem = the 'main one' is 62 pages long, many hundred buttons and every page has at least a few of these links needed.
    Which means, if you are correct (and I believe you are, hope you aren't) that I need to custom code these buttons in Acrobat.
    The method is easy, but x300 = painful. And then the kicker... Boss says, 'Change slide 30' ... which means: Back to InDesign, Export to PDF, Recode ALL BUTTONS.
    *Note, there are some 'interactive' buttons with roll over states. So I don't think replacing the pages would work.

  • Button actions only work the first time used then nothing?

    This is what I have...
    I Have 2 buttons in MC named mcMovieTrans the AS for these buttons are in the MC's timeline, the code is:
    stop();
    function playLifeboy(event:MouseEvent):void
    gotoAndStop(3);
    function playKrave(event:MouseEvent):void
    gotoAndStop(2);
    lifeboy_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playLifeboy);
    krave_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playKrave);
    when the buttons are activated they go to there corresponding frames and Stop. As an example of what happens next I'll show you frame 3 which plays MC mcKraveMovie:
    Frame 45 has a flv. movie on it that plays at this frame. The AS for this timeline on Frame 45 is:
    stop();
    function playReturn(event:MouseEvent):void
    gotoAndPlay(46);
    return_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playReturn);
    The AS for the timeline on Frame 90 is:
    MovieClip(parent).gotoAndStop(1);
    This is where the problem occurs because when this action takes place and it returns to the parent MC (mcMovieTrans) The buttons actions dont work anymore.
    And I get this error message:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
    at capQinc_fla::mcMovieTrans_89/frame1()[capQinc_fla.mcMovieTrans_89::frame1:15]
    at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop()
    at capQinc_fla::mcKraveMovie_97/frame90()[capQinc_fla.mcKraveMovie_97::frame90:1]
    Thanks

    Thanks,
    I replaced all the button symbols that where in tweens on the MC mcKraveMovie with static art. But I still Get this error:
    TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
    at capQinc_fla::mcMovieTrans_89/frame1()[capQinc_fla.mcMovieTrans_89::frame1:15]
    at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop()
    at capQinc_fla::mcKraveMovie_97/frame90()[capQinc_fla.mcKraveMovie_97::frame90:1]
    This is the timeline for the (Parent) MC mcMovieTrans:
    If that helps at all, the only place where the buttons are (and there actions) are in Frame 1 of this Timeline
    Thanks

  • Button action in Firefox 2 on XP

    I know this is a hail Mary play, these issues are so random
    and impossible to troubleshoot, but my boss told me ask around, so
    ask around I shall...
    We have a SWF (
    http://dev.binaryinteractive.com/bluetooth/consumer/html/onthego_demo.html)
    that plays perfectly on MacOSX Safari and Firefox, Windows XP IE,
    and occasionally in Firefox 1 and 2. But there are 2 machines in
    our office that will not recognise button actions when using FF2.
    More troubling is that our client has the same problem, so we
    REALLY need a fix quick. Not being able to replicate the problem (3
    machines with FF 2.0.0.6 and 2.0.0.14 willplay the SWF just fine)
    makes troubleshooting impossible.
    Just wonder if there were any plug-ins or extension to either
    Firefox or to XP that would make a few instances of FF to fail.
    Any thoughts or guidances would, well you know...TIA <3

    See this forum post here from Bob. Best place to learn DPS is on Adobe TV http://tv.adobe.com/product/digital-publishing-suite/

  • Does the Video Button Action really work?

    According to teh Adobe site, the Video button action should be functional:
    I have not been able to get it to function so far. I am truing to get the button to play a video from a Navigation point. Am I doing something wrong (likely) or is the Adobe site incorrect.

    Thanks Bob. That would be a great feature to add. I'm using DPS to create some interactive video applications and that would give me lots of new abilities.

  • Submit button (Action)

    I was curious if there was a way to have two (or more actions) connected to a submit button.  With the action tool, I know I am limited to one.  is it that way if I create a javascript?

  • How to intercept the InCopy 'Save' button action?

    Hi,
    I have an InCopy plug-in that can successfully intercept ‘Save’ actions from the File->Save menu (using an Action Filter).
    But in InCopy there is also a Command Bar that contains a ‘Save’ button. The problem is that I cannot work out how to intercept this button action from within the plug-in code.
    I have tried ‘Spy’ and tracing events and so far there does not appear to be any clue to what I should be intercepting to achieve this.
    (the button action does not appear to trigger a FileSave action... which is what I was hoping it would do).

    Thanks for the reply, I am beginning to think that I need to do something similar.
    Did you disable the button via code?
    I know that the class id (boss) for this button is kSaveButtonBoss.

  • Button actions and Paste into

    Hi,
    working with the new InDesign CC, I'm somewhat disappointed that the paste into bug, where the button actions are going to be lost if you paste a group of objects/frames into another frame (ex.: go to state action), still exists. The same if you take a group out of a frame with simple cut feature. I know this is a more InDesign related bug and was already reported several times. But as this feature is mainly used for scrollable content and is part of  a very immature scrollable content creation workflow, I've decided to post it here in this forum.
    Why not making it as other DPS systems. The content of the scrollable frame is placed in a separate document (with links, actions, videos, ...) and you have to import this separate document as link into a frame. This would make updating the content a lot more easy as always cut, make changes, paste into again, recreate actions, ...
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Yves

    I agree it's annoying but it's not a DPS issueŠit's an InDesign issue. I've
    reported and I suggest everyone else do the same:

  • Button actions not called.

    I have a fairly complicated edt page (lots of data entry components and 3 tables) with a save and a reset button. Somewhere along the line the button actions stopped being called when I click a button in the browser. The buttons' Events-Action properties are set properly. I have a breakpoint set on the first line of the action method, but in debug mode I never get to the breakpoint.
    I even added a new button with its own action but it does not get called either.
    No virtual forms. I've run Clean and Build on the project. Stopped and started the server, closed and reopened the IDE. Nothing changes.
    I created a new test page with a single button. It works fine.
    Any other ideas?

    Do you have a message group component on the page?
    If the page was working but now has stopped, it could be that some component is not passing conversion or validation. If you don't have a message associated with the component or a message group component on your page, and some component is generating a runtime error, you won't know about it.
    Also, if you right-click the server node and choose View Server Log, you can see if the server is emitting any runtime error messages.

    i have JSF table and it's bound to Mysql database table. when i bound the table and run it's working properly but it's button action event is not call action. when i use static jsf table then it's table action event work properly.
    my jsp code is
    <ui:table binding="#{search.search_table}" id="search_table" lite="true" selectMultipleButton="true" sortPanelToggleButton="true"
                                style="height: 70px; left: 240px; top: 240px; position: absolute; width: 600px" title="Search Text :" visible="true" width="600">
                                <ui:tableRowGroup binding="#{search.tableRowGroup1}" id="tableRowGroup1" rows="5" sourceData="#{search.srch_tablevalDataProvider1}" sourceVar="currentRow">
                                    <!--    <ui:tableColumn headerText="Script" id="tableColumn2" width="700">
                                        <ui:staticText id="staticText4" text="#{currentRow.value['search_script']}"/>
                                    </ui:tableColumn>-->
                                    <ui:tableColumn binding="#{search.tableColumn13}" headerText="Search Word" id="tableColumn13" style="#{search.columnStyle}">
                                        <ui:staticText binding="#{search.search_word1}" id="search_word1" text="#{search.search_word1}"/>
                                    </ui:tableColumn>
                                    <ui:tableColumn binding="#{search.tableColumn4}" headerText="#{search_lang['search.contentName']}" height="39" id="tableColumn4"
                                        style="#{search.columnStyle}" width="100">
                                        <ui:staticText id="staticText1" onMouseOver="play_video(this);" text="#{currentRow.value['name']}"/>
                                    </ui:tableColumn>
                                    <ui:tableColumn binding="#{search.tableColumn6}" headerText="#{search_lang['search.srchTag']}" id="tableColumn6"
                                        sort="search_tags" style="#{search.columnStyle}">
                                        <ui:staticText id="staticText3" text="#{currentRow.value['search_tags']}"/>
                                    </ui:tableColumn>
                                    <ui:tableColumn binding="#{search.tableColumn5}" headerText="#{search_lang['search.tpDetail']}" id="tableColumn5" style="#{search.columnStyle}">
                                        <ui:imageHyperlink action="#{search.action}" id="imageHyperlink1" text="#{currentRow.value['details']}"/>
                                        <ui:button action="#{search.button2_action}" id="button2" text="Button"/>
                                    </ui:tableColumn>
                                </ui:tableRowGroup>
                             </ui:table>and back bean code is
    public String button2_action() {
            // TODO: Process the button click action. Return value is a navigation
            // case name where null will return to the same page.
            System.out.println("Invoke");
            return null;
        }i don't know what is problem there if found any solution, help me.

    You need to make sure that the getter of the datatable value returns exactly the same list in the apply request values phase of the form submit as it did during the render response phase of the initial display. Only this way JSF can find out which action which row was been invoked. Alternatively you can also place the data bean in session scope (which may have more impact), or use for example Tomahawk's t:dataTable with preserveDataModel attribute set to "true".

  • Command Button action is bean method.How to pass parameter or reference ID?

    JDEV11gR1PS1/ADF
    A command button action's is bean method, as follows:
    <af:commandMenuItem id="gbl_cmi_1" action="#{tbBean.action1}"/> Bean code is something like
    public String action1() throws IOException {
    if (id.equals.("gbl_cmi_1"))...
    }Therefore, I'd like to be able to find out what the commandButton's ID is, for use in evaluation, etc.
    The reason being is that multiple commandButtons are actually being built dynamically as well, and the action may be a URL redirect. Therefore, I'm using the id to lookup what URL to redirect to.
    Ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I think you can use f:attribute inside your commandButton.
    We use f:attribute inside button or link which hold a name/ value and we can read the value from backing bean as :
    public void addItemToCart(ActionEvent evt) {// this the actionListener of button or link
    Map attributes = evt.getComponent().getAttributes();
    String productId = attributes.get("attributeName");
