Button on the manual form

I am pretty new in APEX and need your help.
I have a manual form for ex: say on Employee form with only one editable field say 'Salary'. If a user edits the salary and hits save, the record goes into the history table but doesn't update the original table (in this case emloyee). The table is also showing the new salary (coming from history table).
I need to show a history button on the form for each row (pass empno). Whenever a person hits history button, it shows history (updated rows) against that empno in a new region but on the same page. It should have 'close' button to close the history region.
Do you have any similar example?
Thanks.

Hi,
You can create a custom report template to handle that.
Go to Shared Components, Templates and Create a new report - use a copy of your existing report template.
When the template is created, select it from the templates list to edit it. On the template definition, you will see four sections - Custom Template 1, 2, 3 and 4. In these, we can define up to four formats depending on stated conditions. In your case you only need to use the first two sections (and perhaps the third if you have users that don't fall into either category?).
In Custom Template 1, enter the following:
<td headers="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#" #ALIGNMENT# class="t18data" style="background-color:lightgreen">#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>You should adjust the t18data class name to whatever your one is - all I've really added here is added the style attribute.
In Custom Template 1 Condition, select: Use Based on PL/SQL Condition
In Custom Template 1 Expression, we need to enter whatever the expression would be to return true for your first style. For example:
'#ROLE#' = 'EDITOR'or
#ROLE# = EDITORdepending on if the ROLE column is a string or number - replace ROLE with whatever the name is for the column containing the role (but keeping the #'s). #ROLE# would be repaced by the value on the column for the current row - if the equation returns true, then the custom template is used, otherwise the next one is checked instead.
Make similar entries in Custom Template 2 settings for your approver role.
And, if you will have users that fall outside of these roles, then repeat the process for the Custom 3 Template setting, but leaving the Condition and Expression as their defaults - that way, if the ROLE value does not match either of the first two template settings, then this third one must be used as it is effectively unconditional.
I have done this here: http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=55041:44 - any DEPTNO of 10 turns the line lightgreen, 20 is pink and all others are yellow.

    A control can only appear once in the visual tree. So you have to remove it from the Grid before you can add it to the DockPanel.
    This code will move the Border element from the Grid to the DockPanel when you click the button:
    Private Sub Button_Click(sender As Object, e As RoutedEventArgs)
    Dim border = CType(LayoutRoot.FindName("myborder"), Border)
    LayoutRoot.Children.Remove(border)
    contain.Children.Add(border)
    End Sub
    <StackPanel>
    <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot">
    <Border x:Name="myborder" BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="2">
    <TextBlock>...</TextBlock>
    </Border>
    </Grid>
    <DockPanel x:Name="contain" Background="Yellow">
    <TextBlock>2</TextBlock>
    </DockPanel>
    <Button Click="Button_Click" Content="Move"/>
    </StackPanel>
    You can try it for yourself. But please post your code as formatted text and not as embedded images if you want anyone to be able to reproduce your issue and help you in the future.

  • Handling Submit Button on the ADOBE form called from Web Dynpro

    Hi,
    I have placed a Button on the ADOBE Form. How to Handle the event on this button. When i click this button, i want to save the details of the form into a Custom table.

    Hi Majunath.
    Create an event say, SUB_EVTin the view in WD where you have the Interactive Form UI element.
    Bind this event to the onSubmit of the Form.
    Now check the display type of the form. It will be either ActiveX or Native.
    Now go to the form designer and open Library palette. Navigate to Webdynpro ActiveX or Native Library(Depending on the form display Type in WD).
    Drag and Drop Submit button.
    On click of the button, the event handler in WD view namely, onActionsub_evt will be invoked. You can write your code in this handler.
    Now in order to read data from the form. Go to the form and go to Properties tab. Check the form layout type. If it is not ZCI, run transaction SFP_ZCI_UPDATE and convert the form to ZCI type.
    Now back to the event handler.
    as an example... I will use the following context node definitions
    PDF_DATA  1..1
      ACTUAL_DATA 0..n
        ATTRIB01
        ATTRIB02
    Assume the the node PDF_DATA is bound to the data source of your form.
    Now in the event handler write the foll code
    data: lo_node type ref to if_wd_context_node,
            lt_data   type wd_this->elements_actual_data.
    lo_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this-.wdctx_pdf_data ).
    lo_node = lo_node->get_child_node( name = wd_this-.wdctx_actual_data ).
    lo_node->get_static_attributes_table(
      importing
        table = lt_data ).
    This will get all the form data in the internal table lt_data.
    Now you can process the data the way you want and save it in your custom tables.

  • Multiple submit button on the same form

    Hi,
    I have created a PL/SQL procedure which generates a HTML form using htp and below is part of the code.
    Create or Replace PROCEDURE OBM_PROCEDURE
    htp.formOpen(OWA_UTIL.GET_OWA_SERVICE_PATH || 'insert_obm');
    htp.formSubmit(cvalue=> 'Insert');
    This creates the form and clicking Insert button calls the other procedure (insert_obm).. works fine.
    I could create other buttons like "Query" "Update" "Delete" on the same form using following.
    htp.print ('<INPUT TYPE=submit VALUE="Query"> ');
    But all the buttons call the same form (insert_obm) since they are in the same form. How do I make the buttons call different procedure?
    Thanks,
    Jee

    Hi,
    The best way to do is call a single procedure as you are doing on form submit and check which form submit was clicked ,say based on the submit value and then do the processing accordingly i.e whether it is INSERT or DELETE.
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
    Anu

  • Add a button on the param form and display a list and pass back to param

    10GR2
    Report is saved in RDF
    Requirement is that we create a button on the paramter screen and let user go through a list of first name to select from. The list could be long. same with the las name
    Example
    First Name < text box > < button >
    Last Name < text box > < button >
    Where if you click on this button, I want to show a list that gets populated from the database in some form if possible and then when they select a value, return it to the text field.
    Similar to how LOV works on Oracle forms.
    Unless there is some simpler solution
    Thanks for your response.

    The only way I figured out how to do this was to create the page in iWeb and then manually edit the page in Dreamweaver to add the form. The form them posts to a php page that collects the info and mails it to me.
    Works ok, but it was completely manual.

  • Can I have multiple submit buttons on the same form?

    Hi!
    I'm creating a web page that allows the user to build a mail filter, and I would like to have to submit buttons, one to add more fields to the filter and another one to save the filter... I could insert the two buttons on the, but I don't know how to distinguish them while doing the process of the form on a jsp page. Any ideas?

    You can create additional submit buttons using Javascript buttons:
    <input type='button' value='Add Fields'
    onClick='this.form.action="/servlet/AddFields";this.form.submit()' />
    <input type='button' value='Save Filter'
    onClick='this.form.action="/servlet/SaveFilter";this.form.submit()' />
    The value of "onClick" is a block of Javascript, so you can all a function to validate the form before submitting, etc.

  • Two Buttons on the Interactive Form

    Hi Gurus,
              I need to have two buttons on the form which perform different actions So I  need to identify the button clicked in the OnSubmit event.
                I  have two buttons on the form "Submit" and "BACK". So I added the two submit buttons on the form, both are working as OnSubmit event is getting triggered by both the buttons.
    From some previous posts, I read that I've to add a attribute to context and set the attribute value in the form when the button is clicked. So added a field binding that to context attribute.But , When I write below code , the submit button does not work.
    xfa.form.Page1.Subform.Buttonclicked.rawValue = "BACK";
    Where Page1 is page , Subform is subform Buttonclicked is my attribute in context/field on the form for attribute
    I  tried adding this code before and after the submit events code that is,
    ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
    Am I adding the code in correct place? Is the code correct to set the attribute/field value?
    Can anybody help me resolving this issue?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Web Reports --- How submit button on the parameter form works ?

    Hi all,
    I understand that when we deploy the rdf and run the report through web it opens up with 'Submit query' and 'Reset' buttons. And this is from the html code that we see in BEFORE FORM VALUE (Report Escapes).
    <html>
    <body dir=&Direction bgcolor="#ffffff">
    <form method=post action="_action_">
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="_hidden_">
    <font color=red><!--error--></font>
    <center>
    <p><table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0>
    <tr>
    <td><input type=submit></td>
    <td width=15>
    <td><input type=reset></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <p><hr><p>
    I'm just wondering how form action "_action_" is being taken care of when we click on 'Submit Query' button. Which file will it look for to get these values (action and hidden params ) ?
    I would like to add a new button 'Schedule' on this parameter form which behaves exactly as it does with 'Submit' but I would like to add 'schedule' command in the URL. I could create a 'Schedule' button but was not able to build the functionality on what happens if someone clicks on it.
    For this I need to understand how "Submit Query" works.
    Please give me some inputs on this,
    Thank you
    ML.

    These values are not stored in any file. Reports server will replace action and hidden with the actual values while generating parameter form. You can see the source of html parameter form generated to understand these.
    For your scheduling requirement one very simple solution would be to create a user parameter with name 'SCHEDULE' and map a field in the pform to the 'SCHEDULE' user parameter.
    You can also use a hidden field by name 'SCHEDULE' and set the value using javascript when button is clicked.

  • Hide/Disable Print button on the Adobe form for my user

    Hi
      How do I Hide/Disable my print option for the user viewing my Adobe form shown using WD for Java application.
    Regards,
    Murali.

    Hello Raja Sekhar,
    This object is not available anymore in Designer 7.1. This setting can now be achieved through a web dynpro (Java) API (interface <a href="https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04s/SPS7/wd/com/sap/tc/webdynpro/clientserver/adobe/pdfdocument/api/IWDPDFDocumentAppearance.html">IWDPDFDocumentAppearance</a>). In web dynpro ABAP you would need to use the method handler of the <b>InteractiveForm</b> UI element (IF_WD_IACTIVE_FORM_METHOD_HNDL, SET_HIDE_TOOLBARS).

    Hi Experts,
        I have created an interactive form using NWDS and I am able to show it as Collable Object. Now the requirement is that I have to disable the save button from the PDF.
    Can you please let me know how to disable the Save Button for the interactive form?

    Hi Kuldip,
    if you're trying to hide the Save Button in the Adobe toolbar, then you can place the following code in the wdDoModifyView method to hide the whole toolbar.
    // Get interactibe form handler.
            IWDPDFDocumentInteractiveFormHandler iFormHandler = WDPDFDocumentFactory.getDocumentHandler(wdThis.wdGetAPI(), "<name of your form>");
    //     Get appearance setter.
          IWDPDFDocumentAppearance appearance = iFormHandler.getDocumentContext().getAppearance();
         // Hide menu bar.
         appearance.hideMenuBar(true);
         // Hide tool bars.
         appearance.hideToolBars(true);

  • Attachments on the Request Form

    Attachments on the Request Form
    I know you can add file attachments in the initial customer request by selecting the Add and Review Order button and attaching a file on the Order Review form.  But is there a way to have a file attachment button on the request form that will attach a file to the serivce request the same way?

    Here is an approach:
    1. Implement something like this on the file server:
    http://www.pscode.com/vb/scripts/ShowCode.asp?txtCodeId=7361&lngWId=4
    (We use an inhouse version of this)
    I would change this script to post back the file name to the parent window as well as some naming/size validations, etc ...
    2. Call the file upload functionality from your service fo

  • How do I add a button to an existing form

    I have seen a few questions similar to this, but I am a total novice to customizing SBO.  This is the procedure as I understand it, please tell me if I am correct.
    I have to have some application running (call it MyApp).  MyApp contains the code to catch the load event for the form I am intersted in, and add the button then let the form load.  Is that correct?  Then what do I need to do to capture the event caused by pressing the new button?  Ultimately, this exercise will add a button to the Activity form and then cause the screen to refresh when the button is pressed.
    I am NOT asking for someone to do this for me, but I see "pieces" of what I think I want to do in the examples and help, I just want to be sure I am heading in the right direction before getting mired down.
    TIA

    Hi Steve,
    For adding your button to a system form, your approach is correct (ie capture the load event of the form your want to customise and add the button using the UI API or by loading via XML). There is an example of customising a system form in the UI API samples from the SDK. There is also an article on how to use XML to load new controls that can be found here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/ebe72e9e-0301-0010-979e-d37dcd714600
    For capturing the event of the user clicking on your new button, what you need to do is trap the Item Pressed event for that form. I also recommend you look at filtering the events that your addon captures. This is good practice as a lack of event filtering can cause significant performance issues.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen
