Button scaling for longer titles

Hi,
I am unable to find a way within catalyst to make buttons that scale based on the length of their text - is there a way to accomplish this? i would prefer not to stretch the entire background to fit, but keep the left and right caps intact and scale the center of the button. i've tried importing from both illustrator and photoshop.
thanks,
b

Hello,
Catalyst does not support what you're looking for in the current beta. You would need to bring in artwork of the appropriate size for your button.
If you are up for getting your hands a bit dirty in Flash Builder, you can check out the following page on 9-slice, which would support scaling the middle section of an image while leaving the corners intact.

  • How do I add a "return to top of page" button/link for long pages?

I've created several long pages within a web site. Is there a button or link that can be used, created, and placed in the middle and/or at the bottom of the pages that will return you to the "top of page" without having to scroll all the way back up? If there is one in iWeb, or if this has been discussed before, I can't find it. Thanks.

    Hi there,
easiest way would be to have link "Link to: one of my pages" and link to the page itself.
To me doing this the page doesn't have to completely reload (thus there is no transition displaying a an empty page).
Another way would be using Anchors which is a bit more complicated... Usually they are used to go down to a certain point of a page but it works the other way around too...

    oMatrix.Columns.Item("Col0").TitleObject.Caption = "Line #"
    oMatrix.Columns.Add("Col1", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_EDIT)
    oMatrix.Columns.Item("Col1").TitleObject.Caption = "Name"
    oMatrix.AutoResizeColumns()

  • Long Filenames for Video titles do not scroll

    Hello,
I have a series of videos with long titles such as:
British Next Top Model S02E04 - Model Number 5 Confession
The IPOD Video section shows something like
"British Next Top Model S02E... "
"British Next Top Model S02E... "
"British Next Top Model S02E... "
"British Next Top Model S02E... "
and NONE of the videos actually scroll.
All long song (music) names will scroll.
    I have firmware 1.0 and NOT 1.1.
Several friends who have 1.1 confirmed scrolling works, however, the files are not the same.
Any suggestions? Can a long video filename scroll in firmware 1.0?
Thanks in advance for your consideration,
    David

Yes, it is a user to user forum. The forum Mods do monitor the posts, but that's about it.

  • Hello. How can I make it so firefox remembers which links I've visited as on the music singles pages for longer periods of time and more links?

I frequently use the singles pages on wikipedia, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:2012_singles&from=D
So I had already clicked on the links some months ago on the 2012 singles pages, but firefox forgot that I had clicked on the links there. How can I make it so it remembers for longer periods of time without causing problems to firefox? Also, I want it to remember what links I've clicked on the 2013 singles pages, because I am also keeping up with that. Can I tell firefox to remember all history for these pages, such as 2012 singles, or 2013 singles specifically? I just want firefox to remember what links I've visited, as in, the songs in the 2012/2013 singles pages, and not forget those, because I have already downloaded those so I want firefox to keep track. What are my options? Please let me know, and I hope you understand the problem I am describing.

My Firefox remembers history from over a year ago, and unless you are using a setting or external tool to clear it, or load huge numbers of pages/download huge numbers of files, Firefox should pretty easily remember links you've accessed in recent months.
To see what Firefox has computed as the number of URLs to remember, you can check here:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the filter box, type or paste '''.hist''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Look for '''places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages'''
Mine's set to 104858. I don't know how that was determined.

  • White background or Black background suited for long term watching ?

    Hello,
I saw many desktop themes with white or light grey background a few years ago, but now, many of them turn into black background with white or blue or cyan or others color of fonts.
As a programmer, I am just curious about the theme: which type is suited for long term use of computer?
I have tried both, and found grey background is easy to read because it is similiar to read on paper, but it looks like a lighting-bulb!; black background with blue font is cool, along with less luminosity, seems free my eyes.
But another problem is the color choosing. With light grey background, it seems any color is right. But with black background, colors should be carefully selected, since some colors are not suit black background at all.
Grayscale is another one. With light grey  background, I can easily tune my font in grayscale, like Japanese cartoon paper (I like it very much!), gracifully to distinct keywords. But with black background, it is ugly to use grayscale to distinct keywords.
      How about your ideas?

I commented out the external logo calls (since the new logo area fits really nicely with this style), The sections I commented out can probably be removed safely, and I made the textbox post area more readable.  Now I love the new webpage layout!
Here's the dark home page style I'm using, also based on Hrwa's archlinx homepage userstyle, but I havent made too many changes there, other than the package search box needed a little tweeking.   I havent really checked the other pages, I do know the wiki pages have some issues with this style, if anyone else wants to help out

  • Best method for converting 8 mm cassettes for long term storage

I have approximately one hundred 8 mm video cassette tapes that I would like to convert to another format for long term storage.  I captured my first tape today from my camera Sony DCR VTR 520 which is a digital 8 mm camera.  I was not planning to convert the files to DVDs at this time but just keep the avi file on the computer.   The video was just over 2 hours long but the file ends up being 27 GB.   I expecting it to be around 8 GB like a 2 hr DVD but I guess its not the same.
The 8 mm tape I converted was from an very old 8 mm camera which I no longer have (1990).  The camera used to capture from is a VTR 520 which is actually a Sony digital 8 mm, which can play back standard 8 mm.  I used CS3 on my old computer with standard project settings for DV NTSC 29.97 f/s.   I currently use PE10 so I could use either program.
What do other people use to convert and store videos on??
If I want to keep them as avi files will I have to live with these large file sizes?
I did a search on the forum and found titles that talk about this subject from a couple of years ago but when I click on them they don't come up.   How do you see these older threads?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    JMJarige,
The only potential problems with this workflow are:
DVR units (I have a Panasonic, but this is pretty much across the board) seldom produce a 100% DVD-compliant disc, and as most add a rudimentary Menu & navigation system to the disc, produce a first VOB (where the Menus & navigation are located), that is tough, if not impossible to directly Import.
In the production to DVD, there is MPEG2 compression applied. If one edits that material, and then they output to any compressed CODEC, the quality loss is easily seen
When I convert from VHS for a client, I create a DVR DVD disc, for their archives (in case the tapes die), but then Capture to DV-AVI to be edited to a DVD-Video. The client gets two sets of discs - one that is produced by the DRV, and then one that is the finished edit of their tapes. For me, it's a two step process, but gives them a backup, plus a finished product.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • My home button is no longer working on ipad 2

Bought an Ipad after launch in May and now the home button is no longer responding. There is no techincal support number for the UAE and hence a $1,000 machine is now a waste of money. Very upset that Apple has not fingured this one out. I have the latest operating system (5.0) and have tried to restore the ipad. Any ideas?

hi thorvath, thank you for reporting this. unfortunately this is a problem with the android lollipop update that you've received on your htc one m8 from verizon at the moment.
there is a fix for this issue by mozilla already in the pipeline, so please look out for a firefox update in the google play store in the coming days.

  • Access Code for Long Distance

I am unable to make long distance calls. Each time I try I get a recording stating the access code I entered isn't valid. What does this mean? I've never heard of using an access code for long distance.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Could be mistake.
You could have been slammed by another phone company.
You didn't identify your type of phone service.  E.g Fios Digital Voice, Verizon Freedom Plan, etc..
Remember you are talking to peers here.  Most likely you will need to use the CONTACT US button on any of the verizon webpage.

  • Upgraded to iTunes 11.2.2.3 on Windows - Download All button missing for Podcasts

After upgrading to iTunes 11.2.2.3 on Windows, now the Download All button is missing in Podcasts.  I used to be able to click an icon with a cloud and an arrow next to the title of the podcast (not next to the title of a specific podcast), and it would download all the available podcasts for that title.  Now the icon is missing, and I have to scroll through a whole list of sometimes 20, 30, 40 podcasts for each title to manually download each one.
I tried reinstalling iTunes.  No change.

Figured this out!!  Go to the bottom right corner where it says Show: Unplayed/My Episodes and Saved.
    Change this to Show: Feed.
You will then want to expand the podcast arrow, and the download all button is there again!  Phew, that was going to be killer.  Let me know if this works for you.

  • I want to record for longer

Hi, Cant find the new topic button, and Im hungover so excuse me piggy backing on this question.
I want to record for longer than one hour 6 mins that g/b allows we.Its for two purposes- recording a live dj mix, and also so I can take my laptop to a gig and record the audio for the 3+ hours that i am playing.
Can g/b be adjusted so the time can be longer or do I need to use some other software, if the later is true then what is suggested, and is it is user friendly as g/b is?

Turn the tempo down to 40 bpm (which isn't relevant to your project anyway). That will give you 3:19:48 of recording time.
    (GB's limit is 1999 bars.)

    Hello,
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/faq/faq9i_migration.htm#346
When I run my existing Oracle Reports Developer 6i report in Oracle9i Reports, all of my buttons have disappeared.
Since Oracle9i Reports no longer has a GUI viewer, it does not support button functionality. When you migrate your existing reports to Oracle9i Reports, the buttons display as text items. You can replace this functionality with hyperlinks. If you have a hyperlink defined in Reports 6i, the hyperlink is still there in Oracle9i Reports and displayed when executing the Report. If you have custom PL/SQL code defined for the button, program units are created in Oracle9i Reports including this code. Please see the Reports Builder online help for the hyperlink examples.
    regards
