Button state for persistent page indicator

Hi,
I posted earlier regarding buttons on my navigation bar to remain in down state while the vistor is on that page. Some helpful links to sites have been suggested and I know I should be using CSS but I'm really struggling and I'm almost our of time, is there a way I can alter the state in Dreamweaver? as a tempary fix, ( and yes, I'll use CSS in future) currently I've gone to the behaviors panel in Dreamweaver where I can select each button and tick show "Down image initially" and that works fine until you use the go back one page in the browser, the previous page comes up but showing the "down state" of the page you had just visited!
Can anybody help me out with a temp fix please? This what I'm trying to achieve:  http://www.hunterholden.com.au/
Many thanks.
Pete

Sorry Murray, I must be doing some real dumb! ....I can't get this thing to work, do I still need to do anything in behaviors in Dreamweaver?
Would be grateful if you could look at my code if you have time. (see below).
Thanks in advance
Pete

  • How would I create buttons states for MCs I am creating abstract MCs

    I am creating a generic website that would have abstract MCs that would load jpg or TXT fields for the user interface to allow for fast updates to the site. The MCs that would make up the user interface would be empty and load things into it using XML or PHP later on. How would I create button states for the user interface MCs.  I started creating a function for every MC button state but I thought there might be a more efficient way.
    would creating a array help in this case?
    and is using URLRequest the way to link to pages with in a movie well the flash movie that is the site it's self?

    click insert/new symbol, tick movieclip, assign a name, tick export for actionscript and in the class textfield enter a name (say ButtonClass) and click ok.
    attached to the first frame of your new movieclip, type stop() in the actions panel.  put whatever graphic you want on-stage for your button's up stage.  create another keyframe, label it "over" and put whatever graphic you want for button's over state on-stage.
    in a layer above those graphics, you'll probably want to add a dynamic textfield so each of your buttons can have different text.  assign the textfield and instance name (say tf) and extend its timeline to the last frame of your movieclip button.
    then when you want to create a button, on your timeline you can use:
    var b:ButtonClass=new ButtonClass();  // these two lines need to be entered for each button
    buttonhandlerF(b,someX,someY);
    //-------code between dotted lines only needs to be entered once no matter how many buttons you add --------------------
    function buttonhandlerF(b:ButtonClass,x:Number,y:Number){
    b.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER,overF);
    b.addEventListener(MouseEVent.MOUSE_OUT,outF);
    b.x=x
    b.y=y
    addChild(b);
    function overF(e:MouseEvent){
    e.currentTarget.gotoAndStop("over");
    function outF(e:MouseEvent){
    e.currentTarget.gotoAndStop(1);
    //-------code between dotted lines only needs to be entered once --------------------
    // you'll also want to create a click listener and listener function
    the code between the dotted lines is amenable to being added to a ButtonClass.as class file if want to expand your capabilities.

  • Persistent page indicator

    Hi,
    I've configured the P7 CSS express with drop down menus to way I want them to look and everything is working fine but I can't figure how to get a persistent page indicator to work, can someone show me the way please.
    I'm using Dreamweaver 8.
    Thanks in advance
    Pete

    Let's say your menu looks like this:
    HOME  |  ABOUT  |  SERVICES  |  CONTACT
    Define a CSS body and link class for each menu item like this:.
    body.home a.home, body.about a.about, body.services a.services, body.contact a.contact {
    color: red;
    text-decoration: underline;
    background: yellow;
    HTML:
    Add a body class to each of your web pages.
    On your index page, replace <body> with <body class="home">
    On your about page, replace <body> with <body class="about"> and so on...
    Then add a class to each link in your menu like so:
    <ul>
    <li><a class="home" href="index.html">HOME</a></li>
    <li><a class="about" href="about.html">ABOUT</a></li>
    <li><a class="services" href="services.html">SERVICES</a></li>
    <li><a class="contact" href="contact.html">CONTACT</a></li>
    </ul>
    That's about it.

  • Remembering the radio button state between jsp pages

    How do i maintain the state of radio buttons when i move from one jsp page to another. Thank you for your help.

    Hi
    If the next JSP is a child window,you can take a JSP hidden variable and you can store radio button state in it and can get the same on child window thorugh window.opener.
    And if its not a child window(JSP),then you can maintain the state in session and get it anywhere.

    Hi All ,
    I am using C_AKIn AS CHECKBOX as a check box for Active Kit indicator . If i won't chose then it will not check the condition but if the Active Kit indicator is selected, then Program shall check for the live Kits from the range of Material No. entered. The live Kit is the Material which is having Unrestricted Stock at Plant level (Table: MARD Field LABST) or Forecast at Plant level (Table PBIM Field BDZEI &#61664; Table PBED Field PLNMG) or both.
    Forecast shall be considered for four periods (Current + 3 Months) in future, means if the Material having the forecast in current month + 3 months is to be considered as Active Material (Table PBED Field PDATU)

  • How can I call a Page Process from the Select statement for Report Page

    I'm able to call a javascript using the below:
    img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#add2.gif" border="0" alt="Icon 4" onClick="javascript:add_connect1('||CPORT.ID||')"
    But Now,
    I'd like to accomplish (2) New things:
    1. instead of using,....... onClick="javascript:add_connect1,
    I'd like to call a Page Process, onClick=
    2. I'd like to be able to call two different processes onClick.
    a. onClick="javascript:passBack('||ID||')"
    b. onClick= <Please see my question #1 above>
    Can someone please help me with the syntax for this,
    If indeed it can even be done?
    Thanks- Gary

    Greg.
    It seems that my situation is the one you describe in you second paragraph, where you mention:
    you could then add the ID column value as a parameter to the javascript functionBut,
    I do not know how to reference the variable in my javascript nor how to use it in my on-demand process.
    If you can hellp me past this last little bump, then I think I will be able to use these skills in Sooo many different areas of my design.
    Here's what I've got so far:
    A. In the select statement I identify the javascript as:
    onClick="javascript:connect_port('<font color=blue>''||ID||''</font>')";
    B. In my javascript I have this:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function connect_port(ID)
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CONNECT_PORT',0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    get = null;
    </script>
    C. In my on demand function I have this:
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO CCONNECTIONS_B
    BLDG_ID,CLST_ID,PORT_ID,STRAND_ID
    ) VALUES
    :P2004_BLDG_ID,:P2004_CLST_ID,:P2004_PORT_ID,:P2004_STRAND_ID1
    END;
    You can see that I dont know how to use the value for 'ID' in either the javascript or the On-Process function.
    If you can help me out with this one, Then I can imitate it for the rest.

  • How do I add a "return to top of page" button/link for long pages?

    I've created several long pages within a web site. Is there a button or link that can be used, created, and placed in the middle and/or at the bottom of the pages that will return you to the "top of page" without having to scroll all the way back up? If there is one in iWeb, or if this has been discussed before, I can't find it. Thanks.

    Hi there,
    easiest way would be to have link "Link to: one of my pages" and link to the page itself.
    To me doing this the page doesn't have to completely reload (thus there is no transition displaying a an empty page).
    Another way would be using Anchors which is a bit more complicated... Usually they are used to go down to a certain point of a page but it works the other way around too...

  • Losing session state after error page

    Hi there,
    I'm kinda new to all this so please bear with me.
    I've created a little app in HTML DB using the Oracle 10g XE database. The app is now in production and working ok. I do however have one issue that I am unable to resolve. The problem is this.
    If the user encounters an untrapped error on a page, e.g. they type in more data than the database field allows, then an error message will be displayed on a separate page, with an OK button. When they click the OK button, they are taken back to the page they came from, but any data they had typed in is gone. As you can imaging this is quite frustrating for the user. I know that this feature does work correctly (i.e. your data is retained), as I've seen it working on one of the demo applications. However, I'm at a loss at to what controls this behavior. Does anyone have any idea what setting I might need to change to get this working?
    Additional Info: When I call this page initially, I do clear session state for the page I am going to (using the f?p syntax), as I want the page to be blank when the user has clicked on the create new record button. Perhaps this in causing the session state to be lost when I navigate back there after being on the error page. If this is the case is there some way I can stop it from clearing session state for the page it is returning from the error page?
    Regards
    Joe Kennedy

    Scott,
    I have created the application on online as you suggested. I was unable to login to the application with my username and password so I deleted the login page and security scheme and accepted the default login page. The really wierd thing is it works as expected, i.e. when I get the error and click ok, the data is still on the page as I entered it. That means there must be something wrong with my setup on my PC, but I don't know what. I will try dropping and recreating the appication from scratch to see if that will fix it. Could it have something to do with the security scheme? That is the only thing I changed with the version I created online.

  • How to get the initial state of JSF PAGE IN ORACLE ADF

    Hi everybody
    my Jdeveloper version is 12.1.3
    I'm building my JSF pages based on a template that has a navigation pane which contains command navigation items , every one of them (command navigation items) appears as a link at runtime and calls a JSF page , I wish to get the initial state for any page when leaving it then entering such page again , and I would like to know what is the suitable place to write the code to do this task.
    many thanks !

    Clear the cache by adding the following to each jsf page.
    <%
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache");
    response.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache");
    %>

  • CSS Rollover Menu with Images and Current Page Indicator

    Hello.
    I have found a very interesting video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv8cRYGCvIY about creating a CSS Rollover Menu with Images and Current Page Indicator (I tested it and it is working fine).
    I have a web site with 15 pages based on a template and I want to use that video sample to do the same thing on my web site.
    Please tell me if I can use the sample from the link above to do that.
    What should I change in the css file (what new class should I make) to make this work on a web site based on a template  ?
    Thank You !

    I don't know about that video tutorial but a sitewide persistent menu indicator ('you are here' highlighting) is very simple to do with CSS classes.

  • SSRS & Report Viewer control - Show the print button and fire print for multi page report in Mozilla & Chrome

    I have reports in SSRS. I am using remote reports. Reports have multiple pages.
    In IE, the print button displays, but in Firefox and Chrome, it does not display.
    Below links shows how to display the print button for mozilla and chrome. These solutions only fire the print for the
    current page in the report viewer-
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/951009/sql-reporting-services-print-button-not-shown-in-mozilla
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4208457/ssrs-print-button-in-chrome-and-firefox
    I need to be able to issue a print command for all
    pages in one go from the reportviewer.

    Hello,
    The common workaround about print button on ReportViewer control for non-IE browsers is add ActiveX print control or create Print function. It has pros and cons.
    I am not good at programming. But you can try to disable page breaks by setting InteractiveHeight to 0 so that the report will rendering in single page with Report Viewer control.

  • LaserJet 1100 won't print in WordPerfect X4 unless manual button is pressed for each page.

    Hi - I'm using a Toshiba Satellite - Windows Vista 64 bit operating system.  When using WordPerfect X4, I can't get my HP LaserJet 1100 to print unless I manually push the button for each page.  I have no problems getting it to print automatically in Word or with .pdf documents.  Something is not compatible with WordPerfect.  It was printing fine to begin with, but once I printed an older version of Avery labels, it seemed to trigger this need to have to manually press the big button.  Help!

    Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

  • Toolbar button/hotkey for "show cover page in two page view" in Acrobat X?

    In Acrobat X, how about make a toolbar button/hotkey for "show cover page in two page view"?  I find toggling this option to be useful for changing up the order of adjacent pages in magazines/books in which a two page spread has to match for a full large picture.  Due to frequent toggling, I would like a button/hotkey for this for easier access.

    Hotkeys for existing menu items are not modifiable, but you can add a scripted button which toggles it with the following code:
    if (layout.substr(-5)=="Right") layout = layout.replace("Right","Left");
    else layout = layout.replace("Left","Right");
    For info on how to add a button with a folder-level script, see the Acrobat SDK documentation. Scripted buttons will appear in a new panel on the tools pane in Acrobat X, not on the tool bar.
