Buttons order

I have a menu with dropzones (just like an episodes menu) that point to specific chapters in the track. I owned the software for about a month and think it's great and accomplished a lot of things with it.
One issue however I cannot figure out right now is the order in which buttons become active whenever I click the arrow buttons. I have created the buttons in the order they have to be selected, but when I run the simulator the order is messed up. It goes from 1st button to 3rd, then to 5th, to 2nd, etc. The order is the same all the time but is not right. Is there a way to set up the order in which buttons appear? Thanks.

The buttons should become active in the order that you created them, however if you then move the buttons around the menu when doing the layout things can get tricky.
Usually, the culprit is the settings box which defaults to continuously assigning button navigation - that is, DVDSP will make a 'best guess' about the logical order in which the buttons get selected. Unless you are using regular list type layouts then this guess is not always accurate or desirable. It also really slows down the app as it constantly reassigns buttons as you move them.
The best thing to do is to turn that function off then move the buttons where you want them, then use the 'assign now' option... or assign the navigation manually.

  • DVD Map Buttons Order and DVD Player Titles Order Don't Match

I created a DVD with 9 movies, movie1.mov… movie9.mov, etc. consecutively, using the “Chapters” type screen of a template as the menu. The DVD Map shows the movie buttons arranged in numeric order. On the menu, they are left to right, top to bottom in 3 rows x 3 columns:
    1 2 3
    4 5 6
    7 8 9
I then saved the disc image. One may expect in DVD Player > Go > Title, the numbers correspond to the movie button numbers.
THEY DO NOT!! Instead, here is the sequence:
    Title 1 = Movie 1
    Title 2 = Movie 5
    Title 3 = Movie 2
    Title 4 = Movie 9
    Title 5 = Movie 7
    Title 6 = Movie 6
    Title 7 = Movie 3
    Title 8 = Movie 4
    Title 9 = Movie 8
    or, conversely,
    Movie 1 = Title 1
    Movie 2 = Title 3
    Movie 3 = Title 7
    Movie 4 = Title 8
    Movie 5 = Title 2
    Movie 6 = Title 6
    Movie 7 = Title 5
    Movie 8 = Title 9
    Movie 9 = Title 4
Since DVD Map does not allow you to rearrange the movie buttons in the flow map, I rearranged the movie buttons in the menu in this layout and saved as another disc image:
    1 5 2
    9 7 6
    3 4 8
But now, it screws up again:
    Title 1 = Movie 9
    Title 2 = Movie 1
    Title 3 = Movie 7
    Title 4 = Movie 6
    Title 5 = Movie 3
    Title 6 = Movie 5
    Title 7 = Movie 2
    Title 8 = Movie 4
    Title 9 = Movie 8
    Can someone explain?

    Hi Jay
    Welcome to apple discussions.
The order added normally determines the order of the buttons.
However, if one happens to move the buttons around in such a way that the space of multiple buttons should overlap (even slightly), odd things can happen to this normally sequential order. The reason for this is that iDvd takes it upon itself to correct these overlapping text object 'flaws' prior to going forward. One must keep in mind that each button's space is actually a little bit larger than the icon and it's actual text area. If this space (which can be nearly invisible to the causal user) should overlap with another, then odd things start to happen with button order (as you have witnessed above). I'm not sure if there is a guaranteed approach to iDvd's random button order issue, short of upgrading to a beefier app like DVDSP.
Hope this helps but if not just come on back.

  • Button order and routing from PS menu not working

Ugh, this is driving me crazy.
When authoring a Blu-ray, I've gone through the same steps since I started but all of a sudden the menus I'm creating in PS CS5 for Encore CS5 are not working and for the life of me I can't figure out why.
The problem I'm having is that I set everything up in Photoshop then import the menu into Encore however when using the navigation of a remote, scrolling down skips some buttons and doesn't cycle through them normally.
For example, let's say I have eight buttons defined in a PSD.
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8
When I preview or do a test burn, the highlight will stop on 1 and 2 but skip 3 and 5 and other random button definitions.  And then when it gets to the last, it doesn't cycle back to the first.
I have everything set up correctly as far as I know - group layers prefaced with (+), highlight cursor prefaced with (=1), etc.  And the order looks good in Encore.
Extremely frustrated, anyone else having this problem in CS5?  I can up the PSD if anyone wants to check it out.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Can you post a screenshot of the menu with button routing on?
I second Stanley's request, and please Crop into that area, and also Save your JPEG, or PNG, with adequate resolution for people to see the numbers on your Button Routing. Also, if you have any specific desires for the order of your Button Routing, please define that.
Note that En will Automatically Route Buttons, based on their Layer Set Order in PS. If you have done some moving around of the order of Button Layer Sets, or have done some Copy/Duplicate, then what you think the order should be, but it might not be so. En will start at the bottom of the Layers Panel, and assign the identifier, Button 1 (regardless of what name you might have assigned), to the lowest Button, and working up, one Button Layer Set at a time, until it reaches the top. Can you also post a screen-cap of your Button Layer Sets (can be closed for a clear shot of the entire Palette), with the Layers Palette showing clearly, and the image with the Buttons showing near by? That could also be very helpful.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Buttons order in multi page document

Hi There, I have a multipage presentation document in CS6 with on each page 2 buttons: 1 for page forward and 1 for page back. I first started with 2 master pages with the buttons for forward and back. Later on I changed the order of the pages but hey, the buttons have the action for page forward and page back. When testing pdf in presentation mode in Acrobat X only the forward buttons work. If changing the order would affect the order then the forward buttons should be affected too. I've tried to override the master page setting on each page and rename all the buttons but to no avail. How can I fix this? TIA

Thanks Bob. I've tried that but it's not working for me. I was in a hurry so in the mean time I've exported the document as an interactive pdf and send that off. Is there something like a story editor for buttons as well? Otherwise I have to strip all buttons from the document and paste in or recreate new buttons on every page. Not something I look forward to.

  • Removing the button 'Order as Direct Material'

    Hi,
I have to remove the button called 'Order as Direct Material' in shopping cart in item details of each material.
I used the BAdI BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI. But when I am creating the shopping cart, the browser is not calling the badi. Can anyone tell me how to hide the field in SC?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
For 'Order as Direct Material' button to be disabled ,use the BADI "BBP_DP_PROD_CHK_BADI".
In method PRODUCT_CHECK, just clear EV_DP_FLAG.

  • Captivate 4 - changing playbar button order?

I would like to change the order and size of the playbar buttons in Captivate 4 - Is this possible? A search reveals it was possible in Captivate 3 but it doesn't appear to apply to Captivate 4.

    Hi,
The playbars are swf files. The corresponding .fla files are shipped with Captivate. Edit the .fla file, regenerate the swf and place the swf in the proper location. The playbar should reflect the changes.

  • Power button - orderly shutdown instead of sleep?

    Howdy,
We recently had a power outage in our office, and although our servers are all on UPSes, we reached the end of the batteries and had to shutdown the machines. Some were Linux, some were Windows, some were Mac Xserves. The only servers that wouldn't perform an orderly shutdown when the power button was pressed were the Xserves.
I know that you can make the machine go to sleep when you press the power button, but that's not quite enough for us. We actually want the Xserve to shut down completely. Can this be done? I'd appreciate it if someone could enlighten me.
    All the best,
    Jeff Kirk

Assuming the Xserves are attached to an appropriate UPS each this is easy.
Make sure the UPSes and Xserves are connected by either UPS or serial cables and go to System Preferences > Energy Saver. Switch the pop-up at the top to UPS and you should get a series of things you can select from to turn off your computer in an orderly fashion - by time on UPS power, time left etc.
Note this is taken from a 10.4 install but 10.5 should be similar. If your machine doesn't acknowledge the UPS that means that they're not communicating. If the Xserves share a UPS then you're on your own for scripting some solution where the one connected to the UPS tells the others to shut down.

  • When will sync support toolbar buttons/ordering?

I've noticed that, while both old and new Firefox sync systems can put the same add-ons into each copy of the browser, their toolbar icons are always in different places. This doesn't help me to use Firefox as each time I sit at another machine with the same sync profile, I have to hunt the toolbar buttons!
I read in another question from 2011 that sync didn't then do anything about toolbars; is this feature still coming?

    HI iainhallam,
I have not heard any announcements on this feature yet. I currently do not have an available date for this feature either. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Add ons are currently synced and should be the same unless the profile is different on each computer. It would be if it is "defined by whitelisted prefs"

  • Simple button re-ordering problem

I understand that changing the button order on a menu is simple - either use the shortcuts on the canvas, right click the button, etc. But for the life of me, no matter which way I try (including even trying to re-order through the drop-down menu), the button order will not change. What am I missing....?
    Thanks.

Nope, you can get it to work. Make sure you do not Auto Assign continuously option was checked (when you pulldown make sure there is no check mark)
Note that if you DO use auto assign now the buttons do get assigned in the order they were created so if you make three buttons in a column, Button 1, then Button 2 then decide to add Button 3 and place it between 1 and 2 auto assigning now will make it 1,2,3 (top, bottom, middle)
Not sure how many buttons you made, but you can assign them manually in the inspector for left/right/up/down, though sometimes it is easier to delete all the buttons and make them in the order you want (usually that is easier when you are using overlays, if you made buttons in DVD SP, which it sounds like, you may want to just assign them manually)

  • Activating Order as Direct material button on Shopping cart screen

    Hello SRM experts,
we are in SRM 5.0. we implemented BADI: BBP_DP_PROD_CHK_BADI to suppress Order as direct material button on Shopping cart screen.in this BADI under PRODUCT_CHECK method  we have this code CLEAR ev_dp_possible.Now the requirement is to bring back that order as direct material on to shopping cart screen and we need to check there for direct material and non direct material.
i commented the code in METHOD PRODUCT_CHECK . but still i'm unable to see that button on SC screen. After bringing that button on to screen we need to check for Direct and non direct materials, if it is a non-direct material and trying to press button Order as Direct Material it should hav to give some error.

  • Toolbar buttons in wrong order on the server

    Time to call for backup.
I have a couple of CSH FlashHelp projects where I specify the
following toolbar button order in the SSL dialog:
    Contents (default)
    Search
    Index
    Glossary
    Print
However, after the generated help goes to the various
application builds, the buttons show in this order: Contents,
Index, Glossary, Search. (Wrong order and no Print button.)
I got a developer's help when we first found this problem,
and he tracked the button order to the whcshdata.htm file. After I
generate, it contains the following line, after all the CSH/topic
    associations:
    addWindow("[window
    name]",false,30,"10%","3%","60%","75%","[window title
    here]",2,0,"toc|ndx|gls|nls","toc");
Note the wrong button order. It looks on the surface like
it's ignoring my specifications. The funny thing is that even with
this wrong order, the toolbar buttons show up correctly when I open
the help from my hard drive by double-clicking the start page. The
malfunction is when the help files are on a server.
To fix this, I have to manually change "toc|ndx|gls|nls" to
"toc|nls|ndx|gls|prt" and check that file in to the repository in
order to get the right order and the Print button. (It's not a
problem if I haven't introduced any changes to my map file, because
then I just don't check whcshdata.htm in to source control. But if
I have made changes, then I have to tweak the file again.)
Anyone know what the problem could be? I've just rolled with
it for months, ever since the problem popped up in one of the
production systems and we fixed it with the manual tweak. But I'd
like to get to the root of this if possible.
    Thanks all,
    Ben

The thing to check would be to look on your iTunes at home on your desktop and check that the songs are ordered correctly there. One thing with renaming double cd sets (as I also do) is that sometimes the track numbers get jumbled.
If you select the offending album in iTunes, click on the header bar where it says 'name' (above the song titles), you'll see that part of the bar turn blue and iTunes will jumble the tracks into a random order.
Click on track# to reorder them 1,2,3 etc. Sync these changes back to the iPod.
Incidentally, there can be problems associated with iPods and network drives. See this.
    Strange iPod behavior.

  • IDVD made my slideshow but can't select my title buttons in order!

    Hi all,
I have made a album slideshow on iDVD works fine but cant select my title buttons with my dvd controller in the right order with the arrows. I can select all of them but eg. by pressing up it goes right!
I do not understand this can anyone help me?
    I will be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ben

The button order is the order they were added to the menu.  If you manually change the order on the menu they still will highlight in the original, established order.  So don't change the order after adding the items to the menu.

  • Dialog box buttons appear out of order

    Hello,
I am developing my app using a Firefox browser & Windows. I have a Javascript pop-up dialog box with OK and Cancel buttons (appearing in this order, OK button to the left of Cancel). When I run my app using Firebox & Unix, sometimes the button order shows up as Cancel and then OK. This has lead to people clicking the wrong button because they are used to seeing the OK button to the left of the cancel button. Is there something I need to do so that when my app is run on a Unix box that the buttons appear consistently with the OK button to the left?
    Thanks, Laura.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

  • Changing the Site URL of a Sharepoint site changes the content type order

    Description
Changing the Site URL of a Sharepoint site changes the content type order of all lists that
    * contain folder content types
    * and have a custom content type order
    * where a folder content type is the first content type in order.
    Reproducible behaviour
    1. Create a Team Site in Sharepoint
    2. Create a Task List "Test" on the Team Site
    3. Go to List Settings
    4. The Content Type order is by default
        a. Task
        b. Summary Task
    5. Change the Content Type Order to
        a. Summary Task
        b. Task
    6. Go To Site Settings "Title, description and icon"
    7. Change the Site Url
    8. Go To List "Test" List Settings
    9. The Content Type order now is
        a. Task
        b. Summary Task
    10. Select "Change New button order and default content type"
    11. Here, the Content Type order still is
        a. Summary Task
        b. Task
Is this a bug? Has anyone noticed this behaviour before?
    Kind Regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
You are not missing something or doing something wrong. i Hope :). This behavior is reproductible.
The granularity of change is better by Powershell. But by the interface is most user-friendly.
Maybe that's the reason of this behavior.

  • Create a notification order from IW22 versus IW28

When I create a notification order from a notification from IW28, I click the "Create Order" button and it takes me into IW34 where I can enter the Order Type.
When I go into the notification(IW22) from IW28 and click create order from IW22, the popup only shows me "PLanning plant" and "Main work center".  When I continue I get an error stating that the order type is not maintained.
Is there somewhere in the IMG where I need to put order type on the popup to create a notification order from IW22?
Please let me know if this is confusing.
    Thanks
    Jayden

    Hi Jayden,
if you use for every notification type exactely one order type, you should define this in IMG in step "Order Type by Notification Type (goto Maintenance and Service Processing / Maintenance and Service Notification / Notification Creation / Notification Types / Assign Notification Types to Order Types.
I've checked your problem in our system and all things runs well, from IW22 the same like IW28.
One question: If you called IW28 you get a list with notifications, right? Why do you open as first the notification and create than the order? The easy way is to create the order direct from list by mark the notification and click on button "Order" (with the blank paper) in Top of the screen.
