Buy now or later?

Okay the thing is, I'm thinking of buying a MacBook. Problem is, I don't know whether to buy it now or later becuase of a) it's only 3 months till leopard arrives and b) i'm hearing rumours of a design/speed/whatever change for the macbook product line... any ideas? Do I wait or do I buy? lol

I apologize in advance for the flippant answer and if I have an attitude. This question comes up all the time and personally, it gets annoying. The basic answer is this - if you need a laptop now, get it now, if you can wait, then wait. However, here is why I have a problem with this question. How long do you wait? The MacBooks were just updated. We know Leopard will be coming out sometime in October. We know the MacBooks will fully support Leopard (based on past practice and the fact Apple is not stupid enough to release a major OS that would not work on its machines). If you wait and wait for the latest and greatest thing, guess what, you will always wait because as soon as a new MacBook comes out, well guess what, in about another 6 months an newer one will come out and now yours will no longer be the fastest out there. I bought mine a month ago and love it. And a year from now it will still be as fast as it is now. We can not make decisions for you. This board is designed to help people having problems, not to make personal buying decisions. Ultimately, you have to make those your self. Sorry for the rant, I just get tired of these questions. App Store: buy now, download later?

hi all,
I don't have access to a WiFi hotspot today, only 3G. There is an app on sale that is larger than 20MB. So, I can't buy it. The sale is today only. Is there a way to buy now and download later?
I'd also like to buy iPad apps from my iPhone and download them when I get back home to my Mac.

If you purchase it and it tells you that you can't download it because the file is too large, it will just wait in your download queue but you will have been charged already. When you are back in a WiFi zone, you can then go into App store > Updates > Purchased and tap on the app to download it.

all adobe single user licenses allow two concurrent installations/activations. if you no longer want/need the installation on your old computer, just sign out of your creative cloud app and you'll maintain your two installations/activations.

My retail copy of PSE 12 and PE 12 loaded sucessfully but now won't load - says buy now!

It specifically says my trial has expired and shows me a 'Buy Now Button'.
1. I never had a trial copy!
2. I loaded from a retail DVD and input the serial numbers, which were accepted and the wizard said both products were loaded sucessfully!
3. After the first load I wwas able to start PSE 12. But as it was late, I just shut it down thinking job done!
What do I do now - I uninstalled them both, then rebooted. Then reloded both products and rebooted again [like the first time]. Same problem it seems to think I had a trial which is expired.
I tried this withthe disc in the DVD and without - just incase it was smart and looked to see if therre was a product in the DVD drive.
There seems nowhere to go to .
I am in the UK and I don't think there is support for Adobe products?
I can't go back to Version 9 as I do not have the serial numbers. Basically Ver 9 came loaded on a Sony laptop -- and Sony can't give me a serial number!!

Many people have had this problem and yes, it works.
But if you believe you'll do better with adobe support, you can find support info for your region by going to adobe.com and looking at the very bottom of the page:
Click Contact Adobe, then on the next page you'll see a link for Customer Support. Click that, choose Photoshop Elements, choose Serial number problems or whatever it says, and then go straight to "I still need help" and you'll see a place to start a chat session with an agent. Adobe does not offer email support.

I downloaded the Adobe Acrobat XI trial about one year ago. After using it for the 30 day period, I did not opt to purchase. However, one year later (now), I would like to use the program and am ready to pay the monthly fee. Wich version of iPhoto do you have? You need iPhoto '09 or '11 to order prints.
Make an album of all photos you want to order in the same order.
Then select all photos at once, when you use Share > order prints.

How do I get the packing slips to print the selections made under a buy now button

So I started using paypal packing slips about a year and half ago, instead of manually copying the info into an excel document version to create the packing slip. I use the packing slips to make sure I have the order correct and done before packing and then printing out the label. For the past year and half if it is a 'buy now' button with drop down selections, I have to manually edit each one to copy and paste the info from the payment notification into the end of 'thank you' text field. and in the process I have to remember to de-select the save button each time so I don't accidently put that info on my next order. Is there a way either with the button itself or the packing slip to select to have it print out the selections made on the packing slip? Given that in a few cases there are several drop downs, I need them all to list. It would save me a little time with each order and more importantly make sure I have the correct information on the correct packing slip. The information is there. just have not figured out how to automatically have it print on the packing slip. For trivia: I have no problem when I send an invoice or have an item with no selections, but for those items that have selections, because most of my items have several similar variations available, it would be really nice to be able to have it automatically put that information on the packing slip.

Could you check your "shrink to fit" and scaling settings? Easiest way is:
tap the Alt key > File > Page Setup
The default would be
* Scale: 100
* Shrink to fit checked (this disables editing the Scale box, but you can uncheck it, edit, then re-check it)
If those are at their default settings, perhaps they do not work well for particular pages? You can use Print Preview to examine how shrink-to-fit works on that page and override it by using a different percentage instead.
Occasionally Firefox printer data gets garbled and manual adjustments don't seem to work. In that case, you can "reset" those printer settings. This article has the steps: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages#Reset_printer

Adobe does not sell older versions of their software. If you wish to purchase an older version you will have to find and take your chances with a third party vendor.

How to us Paypal "Buy Now" in BB web browser

I am unable to complete a purchase using a paypal "buy now" or "Add to Cart" button in the BB web browser or Opera Mini. When I click these buttons I am directed to Paypal's homepage.

I do have a paypal account and when I log in I am taken to my standard log in page with my account history, add funds, withdraw, history, etc options. But no option to complete the transaction, or even any sign that a transaction attempt is being made. (This is all taking place in opera mini browser)
If I attempt to make a purchase in the BB browser I am taken to my mobile paypal account that still has no option or sign of the transaction.

Special offers, not showing same price on Buy Now

I have been interested in trying a Skype phone and noticed the RTX4088 in the Special Offers section as being 15% off, marked down from $117.49 to $99.87. But, when I click on Buy now, it takes me to a cart page and the price jumps to $146.86 marked down to $117.49. What gives? Skype, any help here? I wondered if it was a currency difference, but the item shows a big C next to it on the Special Offers page, that seems to match up with Canadian, as I am from Canada. And on the Buy now page it has a big C as well. So, I can't see that the currency is switching. Something doesn't seem right here with price differences, but I'm not sure what the answer is.

I don't believe Skype controls the prices merchants post. I can't verify what you are seeing from my location but I can tell you I've seen price discrepancies before. Generally I see the lowest prices by the Chat and Vision merchant. You can also buy from alternate merchants that are usually more expensive. When you go the normal route in the store you are given that option. What I believe is happening is that device is not available from the lower price merchant in your region so it defaults to the next lowest priced merchant. It's probably doing this seamlessly from the Special Offers page, thus creating the price discrepancy.

What version of iPhoto are you using?
Go thru each page, check the layout to see if there's a text box included on the page and make sure there is text in that text box. If not it may show the "holding" text like this:
If you don't want to change the page layout to one that only has photos and no text boxes just select that holding text and put a space in its place.

Landing Page with Buy now Buttons for products?

Hi,
I've been searching all morning and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction please.
We have 1000 products on BC and I wanted to create a custom landing style page offering 3 set products that people can click to buy now. ie just a simple buy now button.
I don't want it to look like our normal small or large catalogue but as a separate landing page.
I would like when the customers to click Buy Now or Add to Cart that it adds them to the cart.
e.g
blah blah blah
large image of the item
underneath = Buy Now / Add to cart
blah blah blah
large image of the item
underneath = Buy Now / Add to cart
etc.
I tried using {module_product} inseting the item but it only shows a tiny pic and has no buy now button.
I also tried inserting an actual html code of the products button, but it didn't work either.

If I just create them as text is there a product specific buy now button I can insert so that item gets added?

My routine, as always, has been to do the pages in iWeb and then using iWeb I select "Publish site changes" to a folder locally on my drive. Then, using Transmit (and I have used Cyberduck) I upload the folder of files and the file ending in .html for the changed pages to my server that hosts the site. What you are telling me is that either iWeb is not "publishing" all the changed files to my local folder, or there are files that are located somewhere else within the structure of the site that I have failed to upload.
I looked for paste.css files and found it in the scripts > regions or whatever folder but these are not files that I typically have ever looked for or uploaded when changing a page in iWeb.
