BW report layout using Bex tools

Hi Guys,
I have a requirement to display three different sections(granularity)  of data in single report as shown in the below
designed three different queries in query designer for each section
1) section1 by product group ( query1)
Product Group                                              Calday
                                                                     08/08/2011                      08/09/2011                                     08/10/2011
     PG1                KF1  (keyfigure)                     1000                            1100( plus 10% of previous day) 1210
                             KF2                                        2000                           2200  plus 10% of pr day)              2420
2) Section2  by proudcut group and workcenter level (query 2)
Product Group  Workcenter                                 Calday
PG1                     WC1                                     08/08/2011                08/09/2011                           08/10/2011
                                           KF3                         1000                            2000                                        30000
3) Section3  by product group and material level(query3)
Product Group  Material                                 08/08/2011                     08/09/2011                         08/10/2011
PG1                    M1          KF4                              5000                            6000                                   8000
In Final report  we want to display all the above information in single report by product group . For example if we have multiple product groups (ex: PG1,PG2, PG3 e.t.c) we want to display by product group sequence like 1) PG1 (from 3 queries info) and  then PG2 (from 3 queires info)  and PG3 (from 3 queries) e.t.c.
Please advise on how to achieve required report layout. appreciate your help.

    Hi,
    As per my understanding you want to see Query Designer when you execute the query in BEx Analyzer.
    When you launch BEx analyzer,you should be able to see  new tab of "Business Explorer" in your Toolbar.
    So,when you execute the query in BEx analyzer,in order to goto query designer screen,click on Tab "Business Explorer",select option "Change Query" and then select the option "ChangeQuery (Global Definition)".
    It will open the query designer in which you can modify the query and save it.

  • Selection Variables display in report output using BEX ANALYSER 7.0

    HI All,
    I am using BEX Analyzer 7.0 , I want to display the Variables  selected in the selection screen, to be printed in the
    Report Output.when i execute the same query in 3.5 , i am getting all hard coded and selected variable values in report  output.
    But in 7.0 analyzer  i am not getting any filter values.can i know the reason for this ? do i need to do any settings ? how to display all filter values in report output.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,
    I feel there might be personalization of variables.
    After executing the query click on "Change Variable Values" which is on Bex Tool Bar and there click on personaliztion icon and check if any personalizations are there.

  • How to manually create a Report Layout using Crystal

    I am trying to create a new layout using Crystal for my Statements using BP Aging .  the out of the box Crystal report for that will not work and it would be easier if i just decide what tables I want to look at.  The problem is i am not sure how to set up the parameters so when i print from the aging it will automatically fill in my parameters with the correct information.  I have already written the report but when i attempt to print from the Aging report it asks me for my perimeters every time.  I tried to look at the out of the box version but it does not even use perimeters so i have no idea how SAP feeds Crystal what information to filter by. I'm using 8.80 PL 16 thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    not really, The system one all comes from some sort of "pld" table and the only designations are the f-numbers (F_124) and i don't have a clue what those are, and when i try to link what should be an the invoice number to the OINV table other things come back blank even when i use left join.  I need some of the information that is provided but i need more than what is currently there so i need the ability to link to the other tables and have it work for every one.  (I'm trying to make it more like the dunnung statement only so it can be run at any moment in time and give the exact amount owed.)

    Do you know what this error means? I get this error when I log onto Bex QD or Bex Analyzer.
    I have just downloaded the new SAP GUI Login version 7.1 and NW trial version 7.1
    However the frontend tools(Bex QD, Analyzer) are based on the 6.4 version would this cause a conflict?
    Is there a 7.1 version to the frontend tools, if so do you have a ftp link to them?
    Although I have access to the SAP Market Place I dont have authorization to download.

    Hi,
    You saplogon.ini must be empty.
    In the "Login" screen, click on "System -> Server"
    Then check the details of your System, Host and System Number.
    Fill in or correct with correct details, and try again.
    Hope that helps.

  • Custom Report Layout with mutliple child tables

    I am trying to create a custom report layout (using Bi Publisher) where I have parent data (multiple jobs on a page) and several child tables for each job (JobDays and JobStops) and several child tables for JobDays (JobDayProviders, JobDayCrew). On the apex screen, I have a join on Jobs and JobDays and I am using functions to string each child row value for JobDayProviders and JobDayCrew together and putting a <br> in between so that they will format on separate lines within a cell. It works fine on the screen but when trying to print to pdf, it ignores these line breaks. I have also tried using <br></br> (saw an article that said just use HTML in bi pulisher) which puts two lines in between each value on the screen and is still ignored on the pdf.
    for example:
    Table hierarchy:
    Jobs table
    Job Stops
    Job Days
    Job Day Service Providers
    Job Day Crew
    Report Layout per job (will have mutlipe jobs to print, just printing 1 day per job):
    Jobs.col1 JobStops.row1 JobDay.col1 JobDayProviders.row1 JobDayCrew.r1
    JobStops.row2 JobDayProviders.row2 JobDayCrew.r2
    JobDayProviders.row3
    Thanks,
    Linda
    First, is there a way to get bi publisher to recognize the line breaks? If not, what is the best way to create a custom report for this scenario? I tried to create a report query with mutliple queries, but cannot determine how to link the child queries to the paren query. I have seen an example where a button is pressed to print one parent row and the id of that row is saved and referenced as a parameter in each of the queries, but if printing mutliple parents on a report, how would I link the child queries to the parent query?

    Helen,
    The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
    however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.
    anyway. something similar but not exactly the same as what you wanted do is the following.
    use a query like the following: (with a union in between)
    SELECT COLUMN1,NULL , NULL ,NULL ,NULL
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    UNION
    SELECT NULL,COLUMN2 , COLUMN3, COLUMN4, COLUMN5
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    ---------- Now, have the following codes in the layout segments:
    <!--- header --->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" width="20%" align="center">
    <!--- body --->
    <tr align="center">
    <td><table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="30%" align="center">
    <tr align="center">
    <TH><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TH>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </td>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN4.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN5.FIELD#></TD>
    </tr>
    <!--- footer --->
    <TR><TD></TD></TR>
    this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.
    with kind regards,
    naqvi

  • Custom Report Layout in APEX 3.0 PDF

    How much freedom do we have when developing a custom report layout using BI Publisher when we create the template file using the Word XML add-on?
    Why I am asking is, I am trying to replicate several Crystal based reports that use multiple lines of for data. They group on several columns and display the grouped data on separate lines in the report.
    Grouping 1 Line one has customer detail information
    Next grouping 1 or more lines are provider of service line information
    Last Line count of detail lines for customer
    Or would I be better off porting these reports to Oracle Reports?

  • Creating Report layout template

    I have created a report layout tempate in Oracle BI Word plug in using the xml downloaded from a report query. The template is fine and is dsplaying data the way I wanted in the preview.
    Then I am trying to create a report layout in APEX under sharared components using this template file (RTF) . I specified the template name template file, But when I click the create button, shows no layout exists" and layout is not created.
    I also tried , directly from report query to specify a report layout using this RTF , file, but the report just print in generic layout ignoring and not loading the custom rtf .
    My database Oracle XE and I Upgraded the interface to APEX 3.1 recently.
    I tried at apex.oracle.com and it is working fine
    Someone Please help
    George

    The easiest way if you give your template the same name as the name of your report.
    But if you are confused, the query is stored in the RDOC table, in column 'QString', so you can find out which layout is for which query.

  • Reporting tools for the Business user - Crystal reports or BEx tools ?

    Hi,
    We have recently implemented BI/BO infrastructure. Scope of the inital implementation was an executive dashboard based off COPA data. We have used Xelcisus for dashboard and BEx tools for query design etc.
    We would like to set up some of our key business users (analysts in respective functions) to be able to write their own queries off this COPA cube. The discussion point is whether to roll out Crystal reports for business users or have them trained on BEx tools i.e BEx query designer/analyzer.
    Any inputs to my question "Crystal Reports or BEx tools for the Business users - pros and cons", is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Girish

    Our user currently do not have anything.  It's fresh implementation. We would like to get the business users involved. The question is - what's the best start for a business user - Crystal Reports or Bex ?

    You need to use the desktop layout editor that works under Word to develop report layouts..

    This is not really the correct forum to be posting Reports issues. However, if I were to guess, your issue is likely related to the known issues related to installing FMw11R1 on machines which had IPv6 enabled. In most cases, disabling IPv6 would correct the problem, however some issues were not resolved even after disabling IPv6 post-install. I would recommend patching to WLS 10.3.6 and FMw 11.1.1.6 as these versions include fixes for all of those issues as far as I recall.

  • Use XML stored in the DB with an Named Columns (XSL-FO) report layout

    Hi Folks.
    Here's my 'challenge' du jour.
    I have an XML document saved in the database.
    It was uploaded through APEX (form with report) into a table where the column holding the XML file is defined as "SYS"."XMLTYPE"
    I have an XSD file which I am using as the report template definition.
    my report query is
    SELECT xml_data
    FROM   xml_documents
    WHERE  filename = 'test.xml'When I run the report in APEX stating "Use Generic Report Layout" I get a PDF stating [unsupported data type]
    Does anyone have any pointers/suggestions?
    I have downloaded Apache FOP 0.95 and have succesfully converted the XML into a PDF using the XSL file. Consequently I know that the XML and XSL documents I am using are 'well formed'.
    Many thanks
    Kind regards

    Just as a follow up, I have come to the logical conclusion that the APEX report query is expecting you to pull back a regular data set from a SQL query.
    This can then be parsed with an XSL format report layout. It's not expecting you to pull complete XML out of the database.
    Am I right?
