  • Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?

    Hi all,
I want to develop an application using EJB 3.
I was planning on using JBOSS 4.0.4 as application server, but I am not sure whether EJB 3 is fully supported.
Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?
    Thanks

Just install it using the EJB3 profile in the installer. Don't use the "All" profile
and think EJB3 is included in it :)

My Ipad did work on my wireless at home and works on other wireless but no longer at home. My IPhone works at home and others can use the wireless> Confused that it did work and now does not?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

  • HT4322 if i have song in English, Portuguese, Italian and other languages, will voice-over be able to speak correctly

if i have song in English, Portuguese, Italian and other languages, will voice-over be able to speak correctly

The way VoiceOver works is by "recording" the computer's voice speaking those song names on the computer during the sync.  The shuffle is not actually generating a voice and speaking the names.  It is just playing the recording of computer speaking those names.
Therefore, if the computer voice can say the names properly, you should hear the names properly using VoiceOver.

  • Information about IPhone developer registration process and other license i

    Hi All,
I am an iPhone Developer since 6 moths, I have developed many application on iPhone SDK, but I still don't have apple certificate for development and don’t know how to register for that too. I am using iDeneb 10.5.4 and 10.5.6 for development.
Please let me know the process to registration to post my application in apple store or any other method to distribute it.
Is the license version of Mac OS X is required for iPhone development or I just need to get iPhone developer certificate from apple only, which is available with 2 options $99 and $299??
    Thanks,

http://developer.apple.com/iphone/program/ has all the information you need on how to become an official developer for the iPhone.

  • Menu bar and other weird problems

    Hi,
    re: 'Lampshade' iMac, OS 10.4.11
I think I may well need a new battery, but please tell me if there's another, more obvious problem:
    all of a sudden, time, volume control and keyboard language indicator have all disappeared from the right hand side of the menu bar;
    Appleworks won't open;
mail messages won't display top part (sender/attachments etc) and have to scroll down for hundreds of feet before I get to text at bottom.
    Any suggestions anybody please?
    Thank you.

PRAM battery issues would likely make the incorrect date/time, possibly other settings go awry, especially between restarts. I don't think it would make the menu bar disappear, though. It sounds like you are having more serious general issues with your system.
If it was just the menu bar I'd refer you to [Menu bar reset|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7897455#7897455] topic. Since you say Appleworks is not working it suggests more than just the menu bar.
First, if at all possible make a backup of the drive in its present configuration. If something goes wrong during repair attempts and makes things worse you will have a backup. You will have to decide how to work this in the light of any present backups you may have, for example, a backup that may be a few days out of date. In that case you may want to keep that one and make a second backup of this as they are now, though I realize people often don't have a lot of empty drives sitting around.
Two slightly different directions to go now. One is to use [Applejack|http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=79562]
    Very informative [Macworld Applejack article|http://www.macworld.com/article/135377/applejack15.html]
It does a bunch of things that check the drive and files and do a bit of a spring cleaning.
The other is to do some of these things on your own by starting in Safe Mode and/or running Disk Utility plus repairing permissions.
Boot from the installer disk, select language if applicable, choose utilities, run Disk Utility and verify (and repair if necessary) the drive. You can verify a drive from DU on your main drive while booted but I have found this can result in incorrect reporting of errors. To repair your drive you have to run it from a drive other than the boot drive anyway.
Next, boot from your drive in [Safe Mode|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107393] and repair permissions. You can repair permissions while booted from the installer disc but this uses the permissions configuration on the installer disc which may be out of date if you have run any updates on your computer. Booting your computer to Safe Mode restricts the number of things running on your computer while permissions are being run and does a bit of spring cleaning at the same time.
[Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214]
[Using Disk Utility in Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302672]
    [Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751]
From BDaqua (couldn't have said it better):
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer (Edit: Do not use this disc if it is not the same general version as what you have currently on your computer, e.g. use a Tiger disc for a Tiger drive, not a Panther disc), then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
Then Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes."

  • IPhone and other languages besides English

    Hi all,
Hope you're enjoying your new iPhones. can you confirm the integration of other languages? I mean besides displaying in email and safari. Can you actually switch the localization of the OS to another language? I'm particularly interested in being able to use an iPhone in Japanese (日本語). Can anybody confirm that it's at least viewable too in browser and email?
    Thanks!

    Can you
actually switch the localization of the OS to another
    language?
I don't have the phone but the reports I've had indicate localization and input are English only for this version.
to use an iPhone in Japanese (日本語). Can anybody
confirm that it's at least viewable too in browser
I have a report that the browser can display Latin, Greek, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Presumably other apps would do the same, but no definite info yet.
Scripts which Tiger can do but iPhone cannot appear to include Vietnamese, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, Hindi, Tamil.

  • Is it possible to resize the Menu Bar and other toolbars to make them smaller vertically?

With the update to Firefox 4 my menu bar and toolbars are now taking up significantly more space than they where previously - is there any way to resize them so they take up less space?

Thanx, I had searched for "compact themes" and didn't find all of those for some reason (may have been a typo in the search field... I do that sometimes... =/ )

  • Unsharp text in menu bar and other various places

After upgrading to Yosemite the text and icons of the menu bar is pretty unsharp.
Other text such as on websites and filenames remain sharp. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?
    Any way to solve this?
    I'm on a 27" late 2009 iMac.

The menu bars and filenames have been replaced by the letter "A" surrounded by boxes, over and over!
Perform an Archive & Install of Mac OS X, preserving user and network data, and then reinstall all needed software and updates.

  • IPhone 6 Motion Tracking and other Apps

    Hi,
I really like that the iPhone 6 has the M8 chip that tracks steps all the time. I also use some other apps to track activity such as Runtastic and MyFitnessPal.
When I use Runtastic to track a run, I don't want the steps I take during that run to count in my regular step count. I have everything feed into MyFitnessPal and if I let the motion tracker add its steps it seems like it will duplicating parts with the running entry, giving me double credit whenever I run.
The question I have is there a way to pause the step tracking?
    Thanks

  • System/Application startup causes error -2147220712 (and others)

I have a developed a .NET logging application (in C#) using DAQmx and an NI USB-6210 board all running under XP Pro. All works fine when the application is launched after the host PC system has been running for some time.
I have now put a shortcut to the application in the Startup folder so that it is launched as part of the system boot (The system is set to run the account containing the Startup folder immediately on boot). I now get the following error message.
NationalInstruments.DAQmx.DaqException: (Hex 0x80040318) Internal error: The client has failed to connect to the configuration server, possibly because the server is too busy or has run into a communication error. Please note the steps you performed that led to this error and contact technical support.

       at NationalInstruments.DAQmx.DaqSystem.get_Devices()
i.e. it fails at the first DAQ call in the application at the statement
                     string[] devices = Daqsystem.Local.Devices;
that I'm using to determine if the hardware device I want to use exists on the system.
My guess is what is happening is that my application is starting before the NI configuration server and the other underpinnings of the DAQmx interface have completed their startup activity.
I also have to insert waits of several seconds  AFTER this call succeeds , i.e after the device I want appears in the return string from the call before I can execute calls like
                    myTask.AddGlobalChannel(cD.globalChannelName);
to prevent 'resource not available' type errors from this call. Even after the device name is returned there are clearly other startup activites going on.
I suppose I could catch each DAQmx call exception, wait and retry until I get success all the way though this configuration stage of my application, or put a big 'worst case' delay in at the start to allow the NI code to do what it has to do, but that's a kludge at best.
Is there any other coding mechanism or call that I can use from my application that indicates that DAQmx and all its underpinning NI code is up and running and ready for use?
    Regards,
    Malcolm Sharp

I am having a similar issue, however, waiting for 15 mintues before starting the program with a try/catch loop does not solve the problem. I am using four computers to test the issue with windows 7: a laptop running x64, laptop running x86, desktop running x64, desktop running x86. All computers are executing the exact same build of the application, and all have the most current version of Daqmx installed. Both of the desktops don't have the issue, but both of the laptops cannot find connected devices (I am only using a USB-6008), and the following exceptions are being thrown:

Also, I have noticed that both National Instruments software, as well as the application I am building require internet access permission by my firewall in order to find the devices. I have tried both enabling access for all National Instruments software and my application, as well as disabling the firewall altogether, both to no avail. On top of the present exception issue, is there any way to prevent the daqmx driver from requiring internet access by a firewall in case a user disables access and cannot figure out the cause of the problem?
    Thank you,
    Matt

  • Why can't i put an out of office on my iphone email? Blackberry and other android phones will allow this feature.

I just purchased my iPhone, one thing I don't like is that with my Blackberry it allowed me to put an Out of Office reply to my emails. I thought the iPhone was a leader!!! Blackberry and other Android phones can do it.

Why can't you?  Simple..Apple doesn't include that feature.
    Download and use iMExchange instead.
