C# Class and Oracle Mapping Parameters

I have a type declared in an Oracle Database:
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE t_project_code_changes AS TABLE OF obj_project_code_change;
I map to this type in C# like so
[OracleCustomTypeMapping("DEV_SCHEMA.OBJ_PROJECT_CODE_CHANGE")]
class ...
The above code works without error, however if I remove the schema name 'DEV_SCHEMA' from the attribute, it fails:
[OracleCustomTypeMapping("OBJ_PROJECT_CODE_CHANGE")]
class ...
Generates the following error:
Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Custom type mapping for 'ProjectCodeChangeDTO' is not specified or is in valid.
at Oracle.DataAccess.Types.OracleUdt.GetUdtName(String customTypeName, String dataSource)
At some point I will want to ship the code past 'DEV_SCHEMA', but this will result in the code failing.
The schema name comes from the connection string User Id:
"Data Source=DBNAME;User id=DEV_SCHEMA;Password=pwd;Pooling=False;"
Is there anything I can do onm the Oracle of C# side to help me with this. I.e., somehow:
1. Pass the schema name as the attribute parameter
2. Define the type in Oracle in a way that I don't need to use the schema
As a further bit of information, this problem presents itself when I use the ODP.NET client version 11.1.0.7. The 11.2 version of the DLL works perfectly without the schema name in the attribute.
Any help would be much appreciated.

What is the actual statement you're executing in the System.Data.OracleClient code? The one you've pasted right underneath SQL:? And that's exactly how you're executing it? No bind variables, etc? Just a hard coded literal statement and that's it?
Are you sure you're connecting as the same schema when you execute the same statement via Toad? I see ora-942 in the error stack, which is frequently a permissions issue. You're connected as MitSchema in both cases?
Can you reproduce this with a small test app that does nothing but execute that statement, similar to the code in this post for example?
Performance issue with ODP.NET 11.1.0.7.20
System.Data.OracleClient is generally supported by Microsoft rather than Oracle if the behavior is specific to their provider. Do you see the same behavior when using Oracle's data provider? If so, it may be more appropriate to post this in the ODP.NET forum ( ODP.NET ), as this forms is specifically for the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio
Hope it helps,

  • External Java Class and Oracle Workflow 2.6.3

    Hi,
    There is a requirement wherein I have to call an external Java class to fetch a string value from an external source and use that in the Oracle Workflow Notifications.
    After reading the Workflow documentation, I understand that Java classes can be called only for standalone version of the Workflow Builder (2.6.3). As the
    requirement is for an e-business suite implementation (11.5.10), I was wondering if there is a way to acheive this. Can an external Java class be called from within
    Oracle Workflow?
    I would really appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.
    Many Thanks,

    Hi,
    If you write a wrapper to the java class in PL/SQL, then you can invoke that class from a PL/SQL activity conforming to the standard PL/SQL signature.

  • Oracle Maps FOI server performance

    Hi,
    We have a production application based on Oracle Mapviewer 10.1.3.1 and Oracle Maps accessible on Internet for our customers.
    Sometimes our app shows several 100s of markers and it is like a lazy compared to some internet map applications I reviewed on Internet.
    For example: if you click to this Google based solution: http://www.dsl.sk/map/index.php you will get several 100s of markers in just a moment.
    Also go to http://www.mapy.cz and zoom in to Prague (PRAHA) to see a lot of markers (bus stops, theaters...) - its amazingly fast.
    Our Oracle Maps application shows tiles quite fast but markers very slow.
    Is there some other technique ? or Mapviewer performance is so poor?
    thanks,
    Branislav

    Per our recent exchanges on this issue, there is clearly an architectural difference in how things are done typically in google vs oracle maps when dealing with FOIs (well mostly POIs for google maps). In this case with google maps, all the points (their location and associated attributes) are readily available and probably stored as flat files on the web server. The application gets these point data via a simple http GET and then creates/adds all the markers on the map via a client side JavaScript loop. Now if your application has similarly readily available data it can simply use oracle maps to display them as Individual FOIs which are client side generated markers (similar to the google maps approach). This should give you comparable performance.
    However typically with oracle maps, our customers run complex SQL queries in the database which then generate result data sets that contain location information plus all the associated attributes. So here the data sets are highly dynamic and not readily available. Often the most time consuming part is the loading/fetching of the result data set from the database to the mid-tier via JDBC, as is the case with your application.
    Now there are definitely workarounds like the one I suggested which is to pre-cache all the location-only data in the MapViewer's memory, run the query to get only the business side of data (which has a much smaller footprint compared to spatial result sets). Then use the concept of Non-Spatial Data Provider to join the two data sets in the mid-tier (which is very fast) and display all the FOI images. Sure there are also improvements that can be made in other areas such as better client side handling of large number of FOI/POIs and other optimizations, which we are doing in 11g and I have been testing maps where we are able to display 3000+ POIs on the map within a few seconds.
    thanks

  • Oracle Maps and ADF Faces integration

    Hello,
    Developing ADF Faces application with integrated JavaScript Oracle Maps I came across a problem.
    I have Search Form on my JSF page that searches for some object. I want to pass the object's ID to a backing bean that connects to database, uses Oracle Spatial function to locate object via ID and calculate X,Y position for Oracle Maps.
    On the page I want to use setCenter(X,Y,srid) but I don't know how to get those parameters from backing bean or how to access JavaScript object on the page from backing bean.
    Any help?
    Branislav

    You can probablly write a reusable javaScript setCenter() function that takes the x,y as parameters. Note your setCenter() function will need to set the center and also call mapview.display() so that the map will be actually refreshed in the current preview release (this will be made easier in the next preview release of MapViewer).
    Then, during the render-response stage of your search form, where you are creating the result table to be displayed to the user, you can add a click button to each row that says 'center the map on this feature'. Then prewire the 'onClick' function of each button to invoke the setCenter() function above, using the corresponding (x,y) that is in the backing bean of your search results.

  • Problem with Oracle Web Service Proxies reusing classes and exceptions

    We have an application that have many web services and we're having a really hard time working with Oracle Web Service Proxy. We have many web services that share the same classes for parameters and exceptions. When we generate de proxy classes, it generates a lot of _LiteralSerializer classes. Because I'm reusing the same classes and exceptions it generates the same _LiteralSerializer classes for this classes and they get replaced. For Example
    I have classes A and B and Web Services X and Y that use this classes. When I generate the 2 proxies it generates A_LiteralSerializer and B_LiteralSerializer on the 2 proxies and they get replaced and I get "No serlalizers for A class or B class". This problems repeats a lot of times and this problem is a huge risk for our project. We're using JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.
    Is there a way to avoid this with Oracle Web Service Proxies?
    Regards,
    Néstor

    Resolved when I create a deployement profile explicitly.
    The Webservice.deploy that gets created automatically when I create a web service was giving this issue.

  • Class-Map and Policy-Map Configuration in CM Confusion

    Hi,
    I'm implementing a green field WAAS deployment for a customer. We currently have a Proof-of-Concept up and running.
    I've got some questions regarding custom class-map and policy-map configuration in the CM. I'd like to nail-down the custom class-map and policy-map configuration (and understanding) in the PoC before cutting over the PoC branches to the production WAAS environment.
    Assuming a typical WAAS Deployment using WCCP for off-path interception, branch to DC.
     ==> 61 in LAN (BRANCH ROUTER) <== 62 in WAN        (WAN CLOUD)        ==> 61 in WAN (DC ROUTER) <== 62 in LAN
    We are using two distinct device groups, BRANCH and DATA CENTER.
    If the customer has traffic that we need to classify in order to provide TFO only optimisation, should the single class-map include the traffic in both directions? Ie., (assume the SERVER is 10.1.1.1 TCP Port 443). Should the class-map be configured as:
    Class-Map
    Line 1: DST IP 10.1.1.1 DST Port 443
    Line 2: SRC IP 10.1.1.1 SRC Port 443
    Or in this case is only the DST line required? And in which Device Group should the custom policy be applied? Or should it be applied to both Device Groups? If it should be applied to both Device Groups, then would it make more sense to have the policy-map in the Branch DG configured to match the DST traffic, and on the Data Center DG have a different class-map match the SRC traffic?
    My confusion is how to classify the traffic (SRC or DST or Both - Separate classes for each or different lines within the same class-map), and where to apply the appropriate policy (both Device Groups, just Branch, just DC) and why...
    I tried to apply a custom policy and the impact in the PoC was that the TCP Summary report stopped reporting the individual traffic classes showed 'other traffic' only. Can anyone explain why this may have occurred?
    I hope this makes sense.

    for instance like this:
    policy-map police-in
    class class-default
    police rate 10 mpbs <optionally set burst>
    policy-map shape-out-parent
    class class-default
    shape 10 mpbs <optional burst config>
    service-policy shape-out-child
    policy-map shape-out-child
    class class-default
    queue-limit 10 packets
    int g 0/0/0/0
    service-policy police-in in
    service-policy shape-out-parent out

  • Oracle.adf.view.faces.model classes and serializable

    Some (most?) classes in oracle.adf.view.faces.model - e.g., ChildPropertyTreeModel - are not serializable. If these objects are given the "session" scope, this causes problems. For instance, in a clustered environment with failover/load-balancing, session attributes must be serialized to be replicated to all cluster members. Adding one of these object to the session causes the serialization - and therefore the replication - process to fail. Does anybody know why these classes are not marked as serializable?

  • How do I map Hitachi SAN LUNs to Solaris 10 and Oracle 10g ASM?

    Hi all,
    I am working on an Oracle 10g RAC and ASM installation with Sun E6900 servers attached to a Hitachi SAN for shared storage with Sun Solaris 10 as the server OS. We are using Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.3) RAC clusterware
    for the clustering software and raw devices for shared storage and Veritas VxFs 4.1 filesystem.
    My question is this:
    How do I map the raw devices and LUNs on the Hitachi SAN to Solaris 10 OS and Oracle 10g RAC ASM?
    I am aware that with an Oracle 10g RAC and ASM instance, one needs to configure the ASM instance initialization parameter file to set the asm_diskstring setting to recognize the LUNs that are presented to the host.
    I know that Sun Solaris 10 uses /dev/rdsk/CwTxDySz naming convention at the OS level for disks. However, how would I map this to Oracle 10g ASM settings?
    I cannot find this critical piece of information ANYWHERE!!!!
    Thanks for your help!

    Yes that is correct however due to use of Solaris 10 MPxIO multipathing software that we are using with the Hitachi SAN it does present an extra layer of complexity and issues with ASM configuration. Which means that ASM may get confused when it attempts to find the new LUNs from the Hitachi SAN at the Solaris OS level. Oracle Metalink note 396015.1 states this issue.
    So my question is this: how to configure the ASM instance initialization parameter asm_diskstring to recognize the new Hitachi LUNs presented to the Solaris 10 host?
    Lets say that I have the following new LUNs:
    /dev/rdsk/c7t1d1s6
    /dev/rdsk/c7t1d2s6
    /dev/rdsk/c7t1d3s6
    /dev/rdsk/c7t1d4s6
    Would I set the ASM initialization parameter for asm_diskstring to /dev/rdsk/c7t1d*s6
    as correct setting so that the ASM instance recognizes my new Hitachi LUNs? Solaris needs to map these LUNs using pseudo devices in the Solaris OS for ASM to recognize the new disks.
    How would I set this up in Solaris 10 with Sun multipathing (MPxIO) and Oracle 10g RAC ASM?
    I want to get this right to avoid the dreaded ORA-15072 errors when creating a diskgroup with external redundancy for the Oracle 10g RAC ASM installation process.

  • Parameters of NFS in Solaris 10 and Oracle Linux 6 with ZFS Storage 7420 in cluster without database

    Hello,
    I have ZFS 7420 in cluster and OS Solaris 10 and Oracle Linux 6 without DB and I need mount share NFS in this OS and I do not know which parameters are the best for this.
    Wich are the best parameters to mount share NFS in Solaris 10 or Oracle Linux 6?
    Thanks
    Best regards.

    Hi Pascal,
    My question is because when We mount share NFS in some servers for example Exadata Database Machine or Super Cluster  for best performance we need mount this shares with specific parameters, for example.
    Exadata
    192.168.36.200:/export/dbname/backup1 /zfssa/dbname/backup1 nfs rw,bg,hard,nointr,rsize=131072,wsize=1048576,tcp,nfsvers=3,timeo=600 0 0
    Super Cluster
    sscsn1-stor:/export/ssc-shares/share1      -       /export/share1     nfs     -       yes     rw,bg,hard,nointr,rsize=131072,wsize=131072,proto=tcp,vers=3
    Now,
    My network is 10GBE
    What happen with normal servers only with OS (Solaris and Linux)?
    Which parameters I need use for best performance?
    or are not necessary specific parameters.
    Thanks.
    Best regards.

  • Routing and Geocoding with Oracle Maps

    Hi,
    Has anyone displayed routes from the Routing Engine as a layer on Oracle Maps? Is this possible yet? I'm scratching my head trying to figure this one out. If anyone could help that would be great.
    Cheers
    Dave

    Hi,
    I have implemented the Route Engine output into OracleMaps. I'm requesting a route and it returns the correct list of coordinates. I then create a new FOI line string.
    var coords = ( an array of long/lat coordinates )
    var lineStringGEO = SdoGeometry.createLineString(coords, 8311);
    var routeFOI = new FOI("route", lineStringGEO, "APP.L.Route", null, 5000,5000)
    routeFOI.setClickable(true);
    mapview.addFOI(routeFOI);
    mapview.display();
    A line string is created but it is not transparent. It creates the line, but places a sold box that covers the MBR of the linestring.
    Also, there seems to be a limit size on the line string. It works for small route sets, but larger sets returning 250 coordinate pairs fails. It wont display on the map.
    I would appreciate any help - has anyone else implemented routing into OracleMaps?
    Cheers
    Jansen

  • Trying to pass parameters between GUI classes and methods

    Hi All.
    I have been working on a rather large final year project in college and it is getting close to the deadline. It looks as though I need to "tidy up" my code as it contains too many static methods, variables and other bad programming habits. My package consists of many different GUI's and classes. Up until now I have been calling different GUI's with guiName.NameOfMethod. I have been told this is bad practice so I am trying to fix this. Also instead of passing parameters correctly I have been creating static variables in my main class and using them. So for example if one class needed to pass a variable to the other I would first myGlobalVariable = X; in the first class. And then the second class can use this. This is also bad, right?
    So I guess im really just looking for a good example or tutorial on how to pass parameters between classes and methods, GUI if possible. Here is an example of how my GUI classes look:
    public class anotherGUI extends JFrame implements ActionListener {
            private JTextField a, b, c;
            private JButton button1, button2;
            JPanel p, p1;
            public anotherGUI() {
                LayOutAnotherGUI();
                setLocationRelativeTo(DnDMain.pictureArray[a]);
                setTitle("Example");
                setVisible(true);
                pack();
            private void LayOutAnotherGUI(int c) {
         //GUI is layed out here
            public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                Object source = e.getSource();
                if (source == submit)
                    clickOK();
            public void clickOK(){
                //Here is where I have been accessing and modifying static global variables.  (But this needs to change).
    public void showanotherGUI() {
            new anotherGUI();
    }This is more or less how I have been going about creating my GUI's. These are used as pop ups. The user enters a value and then it is closed.
    To be honest I have been able to pass a variable correctly from one class to a GUI class but I have still having difficulty. For example in my code above I can pass the variable into this class but I cannot pass it into clickOK(). An this is where it is needed.
    Can anyone please help?
    I hope I have explained my problem well.
    Thanks in advance.

    I dont think that is what I need. An example of what I do in my program is:
    I have a main GUI with an array of images. There are a number of other small GUI's that appear for certain functions when the user clicks on an image or does some other function. I am trying to pass a value into the GUI class that is used for the smaller "pop up" GUI. So lets say the user has clicked the image in array[12]. Then a GUI is displayed. I need to pass the integer 12 into this class.
    Thanks.
