Cache loadbalance on the CSS

Is it possible to deploy CSS 11150 for cache loadbalance on the firewall loadbalance? If it is possible, do cache servers connect to CSS 2 or CSS 1? These cache is using for the reverse proxy cache. Now CSS 1 and 2 work for FWLB and SLB. Some servers are connected to CSS 2. Following is the network diagram.
Router--- CSS 1 ---Firewalls--- CSS 2 --- Servers
If cache must be connected to CSS 2, I think CSS 2 have much load. How about next network diagram? Cache servers are connected to CSS 3 and CSS 3 work server loadbalance. Is it possible?
Router--CSS 1--F/W--CSS 2--CSS 3---servers
Please give me some solutions?

The caches should be off CSS 2. There is a good document on reverse-proxy caching with a CSS here:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/117/CSS_CEreverseproxy.html
You are correct that the Caches should have L2 adjancy for a transparent caching config. If you are expecting a high throughput here then you might want to consider diagram 2. Transparent caching on the CSS requires the CSS to proxy each request which adds an extra load on the CPU.
Depending on which CSS model you have and what kind of throughput you are expecting it might be a good idea to offload the caching on a different CSS. This will scale better also.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Perry.

    Do you guys know where to populate the CSS class items on the WYSIWYG Editor as shown below? We're trying to make it easily for the client to apply formatting by selecting the CSS Class on the list.

    The Page Template must contain a reference to exactly one stylesheet.
    That single <link rel="stylesheet"> tag must be directly in the <head> section of the Page Template, not in any content holder.
    The class to be added cannot have a selector any more complex than a single class. E.g., this is fine:
    .button {
         background-color: red;
         padding: 5px 10px;
    This will fail:
    .content .button {
         background-color: red;
         padding: 5px 10px;
    The classes to be added must each be added to the list in the Partner Portal (Partner Portal › Tools › Online Editor Settings › select your site from the dropdown › Editor Apply CSS).
    With caching disabled, the above changes will be visible when you change a page's Template and answer 'Yes' to the 'Do you want to reload?' alert box.

  • I have a website where the masthead and other title fonts are defined in the CSS but Firefox shows the font as Times Roman. The website is correctly displayed in IE9, IE8, chrome and opera.

    The fonts, which have been described in the CSS file as:
    #content h1{background-color:transparent;border:0px;font-family:"Copperplate Gothic bold";font-size:1.75em;font-weight:normal;margin:0px 0px 10px 0px;padding:0px;}
    Display as Times Roman (I think).
    If i substitute a single word font name instead of : "Copperplate Gothic bold" such as: "Arial" it works ok.

    Do you see that font listed as one of the default fonts?

  • Why are the css tabs suddenly missing from my FF pages?

    One of my sites (www.dminkler.com/art.html) no longer shows css/javascript tabs (domtabs) in FF on Linux or Windows. These tabs appear (as they always have) in Safari, Chrome, and IE. The tabs appear in my Linux Chrome as well.
    The links for the tabs appear above the content div, along with some of the css, but the tabs have left the building.
    I have cleared all of the caches for all of the browsers noted above, and the other browsers render the tabs just as they should, on my Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 platforms.
    I also checked the FF version and "Reset" it. Still no tabs.
    Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

  • How can I view/edit the CSS rules that apply to an Order Registration Layout ?

    *Note: I am new to web design and I did not create the site that I am working on. I am also very VERY clumsy with CSS at the moment *
    I have just begun using Dreamweaver to work on a Business Catalyst site. I am attempting to edit the CSS of the layout for the Order Registration Form. The CSS is applied from the site-wide template that is assigned to the Order Registration Layout. When viewing the layout in Dreamweaver, it does not display any CSS info for the page. However, when viewing the live page for the Order Registration, it is clear that CSS is adversely affecting the layout.
    Is there a way to link the css rules from the site-wide template to the Order Registration Layout? Or should I just add a new CSS rule directly to the Order Registration Layout (possibly overriding the site-wide template's CSS)?
    Thanks!
    Nate

    I've used Firebug as well as the Webkit developer tools in Chrome and Safari which have surpassed Firebug in my opinion.  But they all suffer from the fact that the changes you make in them have to later be applied to your code which means you have to take the extra steps of trying to remember what all changes you made in Firebug and copying and pasting them back into your files.  Whereas in Dreamweaver you can Inspect, make changes directly to the code in your file, and you're done.    Not happy with the last few changes?  Undo.  Want to start completely over? File > Revert.
    Dreamweaver has excellent tools for determining what css is being applied to an element and by what means.  And it's a more streamlined and direct workflow where you work directly in your code.   I still use Firebug and the others from time to time though.  But only for very basic "spur of the moment" testing.  And usually only when I don't have immediate access to the raw files.

  • How do I edit the CSS of a Dynamic Menu with Dreamweaver and Business Catalyst.

    I've watched tutorials on v2 menu module and it obviously was not made for someone just starting out in Business Catalyst. I want to edit the CSS of my Dynamic Module, preferably V1, but if I have to use version 2 I will. The problem I am running into is that the width of the menu I am trying to make is not big enough. The menu is extremely simple, I could whip it up with css and html in a matter of minutes. Just black words horizontal layout with a dark red hover color and selected state. I can change all that in Business Catalyst Site Manager just fine, however, the width of my menu when I look at it on the site, is way too small. Probably only 750px wide. I want it 1000px wide, but I haven't the faintest idea of where to find that information to change. When I add the menu module to my html code i get this: {module_menu,1534789}. How do I add or find css/html to edit the properties? I know I can add classes to the items inside the menu in the Site Manager, but where do I find the html code that shows those names?
    I'm obviously missing something important and probably really easy, so I hope someone can help.
    Thanks, Evan Schmidt

    I went ahead and built the navigation without a module, easier than wasting all this time trying to figure it out.
    But initially my main problem was when I add the Menu module to my html in dreamweaver, this:  {module_menu,1534789} would be put in my html instead of css/html code. Now if publish my site and look at the page source, it shows the css/html, but it doesn't in dreamweaver. So is that the only way to edit the css/html code, copy the page source and replace the {module_menu,1534789} with the copied code in dreamweaver?

  • Am I the only person who is struggling to use the CSS panel in DW CC?!

    I'm new to Dreamweaver CC this week (CS5 previously and CS2 before that ... total of 7 years use) ... was looking forward to the upgrades (and I can see there are lots which is great), but I'm finding the new CSS panel totally frustrating!  It's so much more time consuming an in my opinion in no way user friendly ... especially for those of us who spend every day using them.    I've now reverted back to hand coding my style sheet which means I'm having to switch between screens all the time (still works out to be less time consuming that trying to work with the new CSS panel though!).
    I'm all for change, but this seems to be one big change which wasn't needed and certainly isn't benefical (to me anyway!).  I can see that is probably more likely to help those who are starting out as it has the diagrams to show you what the styling is doing, but for me thats just taking up realestate.
    I was also looking forward to taking advantage of the dual screen option (especially as I'm now hand coding the style sheet), but it seems its only the panels you can move across to the second screen and not the HTML or CSS pages ... Arrgghhhh!!!
    I'll give it another week and then I'm done I think ... which is a shame because there is lots I like about it, but at the moment, this new baby just isn't working for me!

    I'm really hoping so because the website I'm building at the moment is taking twice as long as normal - previously I could click on the element I wanted to style, then click on the '+' button at the bottom of the CSS properties block and the styling box would pop up - now its lots of scrolling and then knowing whether to press enter, or tab or just click away to add the styling ... driving me absolutely nuts!

  • I am facing a caching problem in the Web-Application that I've developed us

    Dear Friends,
    I am facing a caching problem in the Web-Application that I've developed using Java/JSP/Servlet.
    Problem Description: In this application when a hyperlink is clicked it is supposed to go the Handling Servlet and then servlet will fetch the data (using DAO layer) and will store in the session. After this the servlet will forward the request to the view JSP to present the data. The JSP access the object stored in the session and displays the data.
    However, when the link is clicked second time then the request is not received by our servlet and the cached(prev data) page is shown. If we refresh the page then request come to the servlet and we get correct data. But as you will also agree that we don't want the users to refresh the page again and again to get the updated data.
    We've included these lines in JSPs also but it does no good:
    <%
    response.setHeader("Expires", "0");
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control" ,"no-cache, must-revalidate");
    response.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache");
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-store");
    %>
    Request you to please give a solution for the same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mohan

    However, when the link is clicked second time then the request is not received by our servlet Impossible mate.. can you show your code. You sure there are no javascript errors ?
    Why dont you just remove your object from the session after displaying the data from it and see if your page "automatically" hits the servlet when the link is clicked.
    cheers..

    How can you get an applet to obey the CSS z-index attribute?
    I have a DHMTL page with a panel that I want to slide back and forth. But another part of the requirement is to have the panel look like it is sliding under another panel.
    The problem is that an applet is on the panel that slides. When the sliding panel move under the stationary panel the applet does not go under the stationary panel, but the reset of the sliding panel does render looking like it is sliding under.

  • On Dreamweaver CC how do I get to the css rule definition box?

    On the other Dreamweavers when I wanted to edit a css, I selected the css and clicked on the pencil icon to open the css rule definition box.
    The only way I find to get acess to the css rule definition box on the new CC is when I am creating a new div and then there is a option for a new style and it opens the box.
    My question is how do I get to the box once the rule is created? the pencil icon is not there anymore.
    Not good breaking workflows Adobe, some folks have work in progress...
    Please help, thanks.

    I can't remember the last time I used DW's CSS panels. If you know CSS, why not use code view?  DW's Code Hinting is very good &  it's much quicker to edit code directly in the style sheet than it is in CSS panels.

    That depends a bit on the situation. For example, in Netbeans I use the live connection with Chrome (embedded view or not) and I can then select an item in the live view in Chrome, which opens the css properties panes. These are quite similar to DW.
    By changing the values in the css properties pane the changes in values are automatically saved in the css file, and visually updated in realtime in Chrome.
    It can be very handy to quickly change the position or margin/padding/size of an element this way without having to switch back and forth to your css. Bit similar to the inspect element pane in FF and Chrome, and the changes are immediately saved.
    When I still used DW I used it in the same manner for quick visual changes - and no reason to rummage through my css code.
    In short, those css inspector panes can work quite efficiently when you need to polish the css code.
    Granted, I would never use it while working on the main css code - but for slight and quick changes it can be a very handy feature.

  • Fix needed to be able to see the css updates in my browser!

    I created a BC site and added a blog module. In the modulestylesheets.css I added some layout changes so the blog layout would match my website design. Until yesterday, that worked fine. Changes that I made in the css file, were reflected on the site in my browser.  Today, however, no matter what I change or add in the modulestylesheet, it does not reflect anymore on my site.
    I double checked whether my changes were saved, but that is the case! In the forum this question has already been asked some times in 2012 but the fix was never posted. Please advise asap!

    I cant say for sure is there any standard way to avoid this behavior but here are some      technique's which can be suitable to solve your problem.
    - you can place all your site images into constant relative path to yours CSS. So if your css file is included in page like
    <link href="<!--$HttpRelativeWebRoot-->groups/public/documents/web_asset/file.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" />then you can place images into groups/public/documents/web_images/ and refer to them in CSS like that
    div {
    background:url(../web_images/file.gif);
    }- next try you can move all CSS definitions requiring urls into page template leaving main pack in CSS set like that
    <link href="<!--$HttpRelativeWebRoot-->groups/public/documents/web_asset/file.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" />
    <style type="text/css">
    div {
    background:url(<!--$HttpRelativeWebRoot-->groups/public/documents/web_images/file.gif);
    </style>or make a fragment to hold this dynamic css definition and include it in header in standard way
    - next try (for a curvy ones, havent tried myself, but seems working) you can create a idoc script with css commands, but include some commands to make it work like css
    i mean this very commands setContentType (page-720), setExpires (page-722), setHttpHeader (page-724) (pages are from idoc reference guide)
    i'd recommend using 1st method to avoid complexivity.
