Cache size  in cfg file& design aggregations

Hi all
Iam working in ASO for 11vny we are in production getting so many bugs
plz can any on e tell me that
wen they generate the reports its taking long time for many crossings, and for some reports its giving eror in OBI through essbase
as per the doc refering
sets a calculator cache of up to 1,000,000 bytes for the duration of the calculation script
sets a calculator cache of up to 200,000 bytes for the duration of the calculation script
sets a calculator cache of 200,000 bytes to be used even when you do not calculate at least one, full sparse dimension.
but i put in essbase cfg file
CALCCACHE TRUE
CALCCACHEDEFAULT 75000000
CALCCACHEHIGH 199000000
DYNCALCMAXSIZE 30M
CALCLOCKBLOCK
,DYNCALCCACHE
Plz let me nw wat are the max size can i put for above statements to fast retrivel fast treports
and in
application properties
cache pending size i put 512 mb is it any problem for retriving
any suggestions greatly appriciated

I am doing design aggregation but not using by default option iam usingsecond option design, meterialise and save aggregation
so how can i do this using maxl
iam using a maxl
execute aggregate process on database
but wen we use second option we have to save and we have to mention the size , i think this maxl will not work second option,
plz any one help on this

  • How to increase cache size in firefox 6.02 mac os x

I just want to be able to increase the cache size for larger files. As it is now large files are not caching and the limit of 1024 mb is very limiting.

    See if this reference helps:
    http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-unix-apache-increase-php-upload-limit/

  • Why are files in Firefox 33 cache directory different size than saved files on desktop

In previous versions of Firefox I used the cache directory to extract videos, flash files and hidden images, that were not saved in folder and a HTML Document file on desktop. For Example the opening image of a YouTube Video can not be extracted and saved from Firefox but is stored in the cache directory.
To find these files without going through them one at a time, I would copy the cache folder on a desktop folder and then use Double Killer to delete the same size files in both the cache and the saved files in the desktop file folder. The files that are left behind in the cache folder are those that did not save to the desktop file and folder. I can then double check to see if I can find the videos, flash or images from the remaining files.
I have updated to Firefox 30.0.3. The problem now is that the files in the cache are different in KB size from the saved files on the desktop folder. The dimensions of a saved image are the same but the size of the file differ. Now I can not use Double Killer to delete files and have to go through the whole cache directory one by one to find files that were not saved.
Why did the Firefox developers changed the cache directory? Do I need to revert to a previous version of Firefox or is there a way that I can change the cache directory of Firefox 33.0.3 and the size that it stores files.
Would also like to know what add-on gives the best quality screenshot with flash.
Thanks for this support. Apart from this cache problem I find Firefox easy to use and the best web browser.

Current Firefox 32+ releases use a new cache service named Cache2 and this cache service works differently.
Files in the cache2 folder are special files that also store the meta data apart from the actual file data that you see on the about:cache page if you click an item.

  • Dynamic Calc processor cannot lock more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase CalcLockBlock setting and then retry(a small data cache setting could also cause this problem, please check the data cache size setting).

    Hi,
Our Environment is Essbase 11.1.2.2 and working on Essbase EAS and Shared Services components. One of our user tried to run the Cal Script of one Application and faced this error.
Dynamic Calc processor cannot lock more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase CalcLockBlock setting and then retry(a small data cache setting could also cause this problem, please check the data cache size setting).
I have done some Google and found that we need to add something in Essbase.cfg file like below.
1012704 Dynamic Calc processor cannot lock more than number ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase CalcLockBlock setting and then retry (a small data cache setting could also cause this problem, please check the data cache size setting).
    Possible Problems
Analytic Services could not lock enough blocks to perform the calculation.
    Possible Solutions
Increase the number of blocks that Analytic Services can allocate for a calculation:
Set the maximum number of blocks that Analytic Services can allocate to at least 500.
If you do not have an $ARBORPATH/bin/essbase.cfg file on the server computer, create one using a text editor.
In the essbase.cfg file on the server computer, set CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH to 500.
    Stop and restart Analytic Server.
Add the SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH command to the beginning of the calculation script.
Set the data cache large enough to hold all the blocks specified in the CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH setting.
    Determine the block size.
    Set the data catche size.
Actually in our Server Config file(essbase.cfg) we dont have below data  added.
    CalcLockBlockHigh 2000
    CalcLockBlockDefault 200
    CalcLockBlocklow 50
So my doubt is if we edit the Essbase.cfg file and add the above settings and restart the services will it work?  and if so why should we change the Server config file if the problem is with one application Cal Script. Please guide me how to proceed.
    Regards,
    Naveen

Your calculation needs to hold more blocks in memory than your current set up allows.
From the docs (quoting so I don't have to write it, not to be a smarta***:
CALCLOCKBLOCK specifies the number of blocks that can be fixed at each level of the SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH | DEFAULT | LOW calculation script command.
When a block is calculated, Essbase fixes (gets addressability to) the block along with the blocks containing its children. Essbase calculates the block and then releases it along with the blocks containing its children. By default, Essbase allows up to 100 blocks to be fixed concurrently when calculating a block. This is sufficient for most database calculations. However, you may want to set a number higher than 100 if you are consolidating very large numbers of children in a formula calculation. This ensures that Essbase can fix all the required blocks when calculating a data block and that performance will not be impaired.
    Example
If the essbase.cfg file contains the following settings:
    CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH 500  CALCLOCKBLOCKDEFAULT 200  CALCLOCKBLOCKLOW 50
then you can use the following SET LOCKBLOCK setting commands in a calculation script:
    SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH;
means that Essbase can fix up to 500 data blocks when calculating one block.
Support doc is saying to change your config file so those settings can be made available for any calc script to use.
On a side note, if this was working previously and now isn't then it is worth investigating if this is simply due to standard growth or a recent change that has made an unexpected significant impact.

  • How to increase partial cache size on Lookup stuck at 4096 MB SSIS 2012

    Hello,
After converting from SSIS 2008 to SSIS 2012, I am facing major performance slowdown while loading fact data.
When we used 2008 - one file used to take around 2 hours average and now after converting to 2012 - it took 17 hours to load one file.
This is the current scenario: We load data into Staging and Select everything from Staging (28 million rows) and use a lookups for each dimension. I believe it is taking very long time due to one Dimension table which has (89 million rows).
With the lookup, we currently are using partial cache because full cache caused system out of memory.
Lookup Transformation Editor - on this lookup -
Does anyone know how to increase the size on partial Cache size 64-bit? I am being stuck at 4096 MB and can not increase it. In 2008, I had 200,000 MB partial cache size.
Any ideas with how to make this faster?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sarora,
First of all, you may want to re-think if that huge dimension is really a dimension or you can re-design your model so you lower its cardinality.
Then, why are you using Partial Cache?
Partial Cache will end up querying directly a lot of times your huge dimension. Potentially, as many times as the No Lookup mode.
If you can afford loading the whole dimension in memory it'd be MUCH better in terms of performance. If you are loading the whole dimension, try just querying the surrogate key and the business key columns, you'll find the amount of memory used will be much
    lower.
I am not sure how much memory do you have available or how much memory the Lookup used to take, but with these amounts you talked about you were probably loading the whole table in memory. You can rough estimate the amount of memory the Lookup will take
    in Full Lookup mode using
    (ColumnWidth1 + ColumnWidth2 + ... + ColumnWidthN) * NumberOfRows

    Hi Guys
I need to add a digital certificate to a clients customer statements and invoices. XML Publisher 5.6.3 has been used originally to design the templates as RTF. I have the following questions please...

  • How to minimize the file size of a file with drawing markups

    Scenario:
I need to turn a sample of a report into a report template, so I am deleting as many objects as I can with the Tools>Content>Edit Object.  For text that I cannot delete that way, I am covering it up with a white box (Comment>Drawing Markups>square and setting outline = white and fill = white).  On this particular PDF, there are about 20 of these white boxes.  I'm then using Preflight>Flatten annotations and form fields to flatten all of the markups.
    Problem:
Unfortunately, even after using Preflight and Save As>Reduced Size PDF, the file size is still over 900 kb.  The original file size before I make any changes is less than 150 kb.  I need the final file size to be 200-300 kb.
    Settings:
    Windows 7
    Adobe Acrobat X Pro
    Solutions?
I may be going about this all wrong, so any advice you have is much appreciated!  The only other thing I can think of to do (since I can't get a blank sample report), is to recreate the report in Word and then PDF it.  I'm hoping there's a better solution.  I tried Photoshop first and the file sizes were in the MBs, so I switched to Acrobat.  Maybe a different program would work even better?

Basically that is what Bill is telling you. The best method is to:
create the design of the form in Word.
Save as a PDF (on a Mac the best method is to go to print menu click pdf and hold mouse or track pad button down, and Chose Adobe PDF) .
    Then open PDF in Acrobat
    Click on Tools
Click on Forms and create form. Either letting acrobat create the fields and add or take away fields as need.  Or create fields manually.
This way should you need to make correction you can open the original Word Document, Make chages save as PDF The in open original in PDF. Click on Tools > Pages and choose replace pages and replace desired page(s) as needed. Then readjust fields if needed or add or take fields as needed.

AFAIK, this is not the correct way to set the image location.
We call the working directory as context, so inside the context root along with WEB-INF, maintain a folder with name img and put all the images in that directory.
You can use either .\<image_folder> or the optimum way would be (if you are using JSPs) to use getContext() method and traverse accordingly.
FYI,,, using getContext() will give you context root directory, from there it is as simple as accessing any other folder.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Cheers,

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Statement cache size has not been set

    All,
I am trying to create a light weight SQL Layer. It uses JDBC to connect to the database via weblogic. When my application tries to connect to the database using JDBC alone (outside of weblogic) everything works fine. But when the application tries to go via weblogic I am able to run the Statement objects successfully but when I try to run PreparedStatements I get the following error:

i have checked the StatementCacheSize and it is 10. Is there any other setting that needs to be implemented for this to work? Has anybody seen this error before? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Input file size limition in File Reader Adapter

    Hi,
We have a File Read Activity(using File Reader Adapter) which works on a Polling model. Whenever a input file is found in a designated directory it invokes our BPEL web service. During load testing we found out that if input file size exceeds 7 MB then we get "insufficient heap space" error. We found a reference to this size limitation in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11036_01/integrate.1013/b28994.pdf which has below lines..
"Files that are 7MB or larger in size cannot be delivered. As an alternative, you can debatch large files (if they have multiple messages), and publish these files in messages of size less than 7 MB. This alternative is applicable only to structured files (comma-delimited or fixed position), which contain more than one message. It is not applicable to binary or XML files."
Our customer will have the data in XML format and the size of the files will be pretty huge(running into 49, 69 MBs). Do we have any workaround here or we are left with no option but to ask the customer to split the files and load it? The later option is currently difficult one for the customer since when split there is a possibility of XML becoming invalid. Any pointers in this issue is appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Balaji

    Hi,
BPEL can not process more than 7 MB size xml structred file. but, debatching will work for xml files also provided if the file has repeated multiple structures (means multiple repeated root elements).

  • Question of Berkeley DB "cache size"

    quote:
Set the size of the shared memory buffer pool, that is, the size of the cache.
The cache should be the size of the normal working data set of the application, with some small amount of additional memory for unusual situations. (Note: the working set is not the same as the number of pages accessed simultaneously, and is usually much larger.)
The default cache size is 256KB, and may not be specified as less than 20KB. Any cache size less than 500MB is automatically increased by 25% to account for buffer pool overhead; cache sizes larger than 500MB are used as specified. The current maximum size of a single cache is 4GB. (All sizes are in powers-of-two, that is, 256KB is 2^18 not 256,000.)
The database environment's cache size may also be set using the environment's DB_CONFIG file. The syntax of the entry in that file is a single line with the string "set_cachesize", one or more whitespace characters, and the cache size specified in three parts: the gigabytes of cache, the additional bytes of cache, and the number of caches, also separated by whitespace characters. For example, "set_cachesize 2 524288000 3" would create a 2.5GB logical cache, split between three physical caches. Because the DB_CONFIG file is read when the database environment is opened, it will silently overrule configuration done before that time.
This method configures a database environment, including all threads of control accessing the database environment, not only the operations performed using a specified Environment handle.
This method may not be called after the environment has been opened. If joining an existing database environment, any information specified to this method will be ignored.
This method may be called at any time during the life of the application.
    Parameters:
cacheSize The size of the shared memory buffer pool, that is, the size of the cache.
    The question:
When I have a host, the memory total is 16G.
I don't know what mean of this document.
How many max cache size can be set ?
    4G? 16G?
    or cacheCount (4)* 4G = 16G?
    My Email: [email protected]

What version of Berkeley DB are you using?
I'm a little confused about what you are quoting. Most of your quote seems to be from DB_ENV->set_cachesize(), but set_cachesize does not have a parameter named cacheSize. The parameters for set_cachesize are gbytes, bytes and ncache.
You use set_cachesize to specify the logical cache that you can optionally split into more than one physical region. The maximum size of the logical cache is 4GB and there is only one logical cache. You specify the total size of the logical cache with the gbytes and bytes parameters. If you set ncache to a value greater than 1, you split this logical cache into separate physical regions. So, for example, if you specify (gbytes=2, bytes=0, ncache=1) you will have a logical cache of 2GB that internally is split into 2 separate physical regions of 1GB each.
You can read more about the memory pool cache in the Reference Guide sections "Selecting a cache size" and "Configuring the memory pool".
If you have other Berkeley DB questions that are not specific to replication, you should direct them to the general Berkeley DB forum where you will have the benefit of a wider set of Berkeley DB experts:

I have now traced the fault to lie with FasterFox... if you are not familiar with fasterfox it speeds up internet connections in firefox... several of the options are presets... but when i selected custom it gave me the option of a cache setting, which was set to 75megs.
I have now changed that cache setting in fasterfox to 300 Megs and it is now persistant in firefox on restart.
hopefully this information will be helpful to other people in the future that suffer the same problem.
Thanks for your help TonyE, its greatly appreciated

  • Querie regarding cache sizes

For optimizing the calculation script i have set in my cube & compression type as RLE (prior calculation script was running with time span of 6 minutes now it takes 2 minutes ,datafile exported using dataexport is same )
The maximum index cache you have set as 4097152 kb ( i.e.3.9 gb) Is it ok to set the index cache so high even though my index file size is less than 1 GB.
1)How do i conclude the maximum value for datacache is 36000000 kb. What are the factors i need to take for consideration.
    2)Datacache Maximum 36000000 kb
Datacache is 36000000 kb (i.e. 34.33 GB). Is it a practical approach

    Hi,
    Index Cache:
The doc suggests to have- 1 MB of index cache for Buffered I/O and 10 MB of index cache for Buffered I/O !
While you can use this recommendation to start with- You're the right person to arrive at the actual figure by doing some trials relevant to your environment.
    Data Cache:
Again, the doc. suggests to have- Data cache = 0.125 * the value of data file cache size
Where- Suggested Data file cache size = Combined size of all essn.pag files, if possible; otherwise as large as possible. This cache setting not used if Essbase is set to use buffered I/O.
It's prudent to do trials independently for each of the caches!
It's worth reading all the posts of the thread @ Understanding Buffered I/O and Direct I/O to understand experts' opinions !
    Best of luck :)

  • How do I Change the Cache size?

I have an iBook G4 and am trying to change the cache size for this screen saver I downloaded.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi
Curious which screensaver you are referring to?
Screensavers can be processor intensive, requiring a certain level of computing power to avoid flicker or stuttering. The G4 iBook is not that type of machine.
Some Screen Savers have a preference file (accessed through the Desktop and Screen Saver System Pref Panel - highlight the saver, and select "options" if one is available) where you can adjust the operating speeds and other parameters. Otherwise, I don't believe there is anything more you can do.
I notice a big difference in certain screen savers running on my G5 iMac vs. my iBook, with the former handling the screen movement much more easily.

  • When i put firefox in offline mode, and then click on pages saved in history , it can't load any pages or any images. i put cach size to 250mb but the problem is the same, it saves history for two months, but can't load pages.

    Hi there,
When I inspect your site in browser tools, I'm getting 404 errors from your page:

I would have thought that publishing should give a complete package that doesn't need any further edits to the code and can just be directly ftp'ed to the web - is this correct?
In general, you are correct - but also your server does need to be properly configured (and those errors above lead me to think it may not be) to serve the file types that your uploading - but it could be something else entirely. Can you zip up your composition folder, upload it to your Creative Cloud files, set it to share, and then post a link here so I can download it? If you'd rather not share it publicly, can you PM me with a link to your composition files?
    Thanks,
