CacheStore configuration using Java?

Is it possible to assign a Write-Behind CacheStore to a cache without modifying the default XML configuration file?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
If backing map is already read-write-backing-map and it has write behind enabled, it is possible to change write behind delay, but it is not possible to completely disable (or enable) write behind on the fly.

Dimitri

  • Business Objects parameters names to configure using JAVA SDK for report generation

    Post Author: christof
    CA Forum: JAVA
Hello All, I have created a small set of reports which need to be generated from a Java application. The Crystal Reports configuration was relatively easy for the parameters as you have control over their names but is this also the case in Business Objects. For some reports I have created parameters linked to a user prompt. What would the parameters name be that I should use in the Java application. Is this then just the prompt text or should we use e.g. a number e.g parameter 1,.. Kind Regards,

    Post Author: Ted Ueda
    CA Forum: JAVA
Hello Christof,If you're referring to the Crystal Report parameters via code, then you would refer to them by their parameter name, and not their prompt string.I note that, with BusinessObjects (now called Desktop Intelligence), prompts were referred to by their prompt string.Sincerely,Ted Ueda

  • How to dynamically configure JPA setting at runtime using java code?

    Hi,
I am new to EJB 3.0 and JPA. I am trying to help my company to deploy the use of JPA in EJB3.0. Currently, i am trying out with OpenJPA in IBM Webshpere Application Server 7.0. We have four different WAS servers running for testing, system integration testing, user testing and production respectively, and in each region, the configurations for data source, JDBC username and password, schema, etc are different. So i think i would need to configure the JPA setting during runtime using Java code that determines which is the environment. And apparently i am stuck with the limited knowledge i have.
    1) I understand that i could override the JDBC in the persistence xml by creating entity manager using entity manager factory. But is it possible that i do similar thing by using inejction of persistence context on entity manager to obtain a container managed entity manager?
    2) Alternatively, it is possible to create multiple persistence unit in the XML and inject different PU to the entity manager, am i right? But how to inject dynamically since @PersistenceContext(unitName="xxx") only accepts constant declaration.
    3) Is it possible that the JDBC username and password are read from properties file?
Thanks for your help in advance!

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply.
Are you saying that i have to configure the data source authentication to the backend DB2 using the JAAS-J2C? Correct me if i am mistaken. I guess i am unable to do so as the application server setup only contains one data source, and the server hosted a number of applications. Every applications has their own JDBC username and password supply to the data source (the ID supplied at the DB2 side will decide which resource can access) and thus, i have to supply the username and password at runtime. Talked to the server guy and seems that it is not feasible to have seperate datasource for each applications as considered to the volume of applications hosted inside the server.
    Any suggestion?

Also on one of the forums I read Jinitiator 1.3x and above is automatically recognised by Java Access bridge .
For jinitiator version less than 1.3 manual configuration is required . however I haven;'t been able to find any on the oracle forms KB
Also here is the excerpt from the link http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/faqs/index.html
Q: Are there special steps for using Java-based applications with assistive technology?
A: If the Oracle application is written in Java, such as JDeveloper or Oracle Forms (runtime), customers must first install the latest version of Sun's Java Access Bridge. The Java Access Bridge provides the integration with screen readers such as JAWS or SuperNova that support Java. You just download the Access Bridge and install it. Sun's AccessBridge 2.0x recognizes Oracle's JInitiator 1.3x and above so no manual configuration steps are necessary. The Access Bridge is available from: http://java.sun.com/products/accessbridge. At the time this document was written, Access Bridge 2.0.1 is the most current publicly available production release; Oracle recommends upgrading to this version. Sun's AccessBridge is bundled with Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) and can be found in the Java Runtime Engine (JRE). More information for configuring such products is in the respective product documentation, or on http://www.oracle.com/us/corporate/accessibility/products/index.html.

  • Having trouble with creation of a cloud service with multiple virtual machines using java sdk.

I am creating a cloud service on azure with 2 virtual machines using java sdk API. Service created successfully.
My input endpoint details are as follows.
    INPUT ENDPOINTS
    Head : 191.238.144.47:2400
    Head : 191.238.144.47:22
    Node0 : 191.238.144.47:43211
For Head instance port 2400 is for HTTPS and port 22 is for SSH and for Node0 instance port 43211 is for SSH.
But I am having problem with doing a ssh on Head instance. Sometimes it works sometimes doesn't. Same problem with HTTPS also.
I have some application running over there but when i try to access it thru browser sometimes it works but most of the time doesn't. When I restart the instances from azure portal, its works after
that(not always but most of the time).
Now I am confused what is going on there. I am creating cloud service and virtual machines using java sdk and setting input endpoints also. After creation of all instances i restart every instance programmatically .

  • Possible deadlocks with in-memory database using Java

I've written a completely in-memory database using the Java API on BDB 4.6 and 4.7 for Windows and Linux (x86). The completely in-memory database means the database content and logs are entirely in-memory and the overflow pages will not be written to a disk file.
The database environment and the database are configured to be transactional. All database access methods are specified to be auto-commit by setting the transaction argument to null. The environment is configured to be multi-threaded (which is the default when using the Java API).
When run with a single-threaded client, the application works correctly on both Windows and Linux for BDB 4.6 and 4.7.
When run with a multi-thread client that uses two thread for the database access, I run into a deadlock inside the call to the Database.delete method about half the time.
I am assuming that in the "auto-commit" mode, a deadlock should not be possible.
Any reported problems with using Java with in-memory database?
    Thanks.
    Hisur

    Hi Hisur,
If you are using transactions and multiple threads, you will have to deal with deadlock. In this particular case, it's likely that a delete is causing two btree pages to be merged (called a "reverse split"). Auto-commit makes no difference in this case -- the application must retry the operation.

  • How to pass values to variables in WAD 7.0 using java script

    Hi.,
My requirement is based on WAD 7.0.
The sales value has to displayed in WAD using graph with various chart types.
I have created variables for plant and material group in a query.
I have created drop down box for plant with all plants in it, check box for material group and a Submit button in WAD in FORM tag of HTML coding.
Once all the values are set in drop down box, checkbox and if the user clicks on submit button, the values has to captured by the variables for which I have created and the graph has to be aligned to the new values in variables.
Kindly help me how to use java script to get the values from FORM and pass it to variables.
    Regards,
    Selva

    Hi Selva,
You do not need to use Javascript for this. Instead you can achieve this by using API Commands in WAD 7.0.
Please configure Action on the ButtonGroup webitem to use 'Commands'.
->Choose Command 'Set Variables Values / SET_VARIABLES_STATE' under Commands for Web Templates
->Set Display Variable Screen setting to OFF
->Choose Query Variable for Plant, Select Variable Type as 'Binding Type', Binding Type as 'Data Provider Selection', Data Provider as the one you have assigned to the Dropdown webitem, Characteristic as 0PLANT or as that assigned to the Dropdown webitem
->Repeat above steps for Query Variable Material Group
Now when you make a selection from the Dropdown webitems, the Chart output will change accordingly. Let me know if this helps.

         BI Java
         Local SLD
Now, i need to connect two servers, to use BEX and the features of Java to display BW, BCS and BPS reports...
The question is: HOW TO? Where can I make this?
I´m searching for documents in help, sap notes, sdn and I cannot find this documentation...
    Can you help me?
    I´ll give you points!!!
    Thanks a lot!
    Carlos

    Thanks for answers!!!
But I have two problems yet.
When I try to do the configuration using NWA Template, I receive the error message in first screen:
Validation Error: Check connection to ABAP system with the Administrator User:It was not possible to connect the system you have given. Please make sure that all the parameters are correctly typed.
Validation Error: Check connection to ABAP system with the SAPJSF User:It was not possible to connect the system with the user sapjsf and its password given in the property sheet. Please verify and retype the values in the corresponding fields. You can also go to visual administrator -> "SID" -> Server xx -> Services -> Configuration adaptor -> CTC -> Propertysheet SystemProperties, make sure that the parameters related to sapjsf are correctly typed and rerun the template.
Validation Error: Check the parameter login/accept_sso2_ticket in BI (ABAP) system:The parameter login/accept_sso2_ticket is not set to 1. Change the parameter according to documentation.
Validation Error: Check the parameter login/create_sso2_ticket in BI (ABAP) system:The parameter login/create_sso2_ticket is not set to 2. Change the parameter according to documentation.
Validation Error: Check whether the given logon group exists in BI (ABAP) system:The logon group you have given does not exist in the ABAP system. Please verify it.
I´ve tried to do manually.  So, when I access the link for WD, the BI modeler is working.
    http://java_host:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/biplanworkbench1/Modeler
But, if I try to access in ABAP side, using transaction RSPLAN, I receive the message:
http://abap_host:<port>/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=200  <-- Service cannot be reached
Note that I have TWO servers (ABAP and JAVA). The RSPLAN is calling the correct link?
I´ve done the configuration in transaction RSPLSA to the correct URL.
Anybody knows where are the error?
    Thanks a lot!

  • RFC Lookup using Java Mapping program - Examples

    Dear Experts,
I am working on a scenario which is using 1:N mapping. For deciding the target message I have to use RFC Lookup to call the backend ERP system and there are 2 ERP systems involved in this integration. As I am using Java Mapping and never did a RFC Lookup in Java. I kindly request you to give me some examples which I could use for my RFC calls in my Java Mapping. Simple example will do.
Client is adamant to use Java mapping, I could achieve this easily using XSLT or Graphical Mapping.
    Advance Thanks,
    Pradeep

    Hello,
why don't you use Extended Receiver Determination Defining Extended (Dynamic) Receiver Determination - Integration Directory - SAP Library?
What you can do is create a Message Mapping between your source message and Receivers message type. In this message mapping you can use your RFC to generate the target message.
For example, lets say we have the function ZFM_GET_INTERFACE_INFO used to generate the List of Receivers given a source message. You could create a Message Mapping as below:
In this case, the RFCLookup box look as below:
The receiver determination configuration would look as follows:
Afterwards, you will need two specific message mappings for the two ERP systems.
    Summarizing, you'll need:
1.- A Message Mapping: Source Message to Receivers Message Type (This one uses the RFC Lookup)
2.- A Message Mapping: Source Message to Target Message for ERP 1
3.- A Message Mapping: Source Message to Target Message for ERP 2
In Integration Directory you'll have 1 Receiver Determination(Source system, Target System determined Dynamically) and 2 Interface Determinations (Source System to ERP1, Source System to ERP2), etc.
I hope you find it useful.
    Regards!
