Calculating Qty of low-level parts in a BOM

The table has the following columns: Parent_Part, Component_Part, Qty_Per_Assembly. The top part in the BOM has a Parent_Part = 'TOP'.
So if I have 3 levels, the bottom component (lets call it part# 555xa) has a qty_per_assembly of 5 in its parent (part# 222xc), which is in the top level part 4 times. So the total number of 555xa parts in the top part is 20 (5x4).
Problem is, the 555xa might happen to be a 5/8 lock washer that is a component of many parts. So I need to run some PL/SQL to go through and calculate how many of these lock washers are actually in this main assembly. I made a function that calculates the quantity when the component_part is only used in ONE other part, but when it is in multiple ones, my function is not accurate.
I'm trying to use the "start with" -- "connect by prior", but can't seem to get over the hurdle that is stopping me here.

All of the routing/relay information for the SCXI-1127 can be found in the NI Switches Help file. This file is located in the Start menu at Start » Programs » National Instruments » NI-SWITCH » Documentation » NI Switches Help. Once you have the file open, go to Devices » NI SCXI 1127/1128 » Hardware Diagram. This shows a diagram of all the relays and how they are connected in the switch, as well as their software names. Using this, have all of the information needed to make any route possible with the 1127. If you want to operate in the standard 4x8 matrix mode, that is fine as well, though I would suggest you you the SCXI-1332 terminal block since it was made with the proper internal wiring for the 4x8 matrix. Here the system doesn plan from below,because the requirement comes for the top level not for the dependendent levels
For ex -sale order or PIR (any reqmnt for tht matter) is created at the finished level product
There by system xplodes the BOM & plns for the dependent requirement

Schedule line on BOM lower level items

Hi Team,
I have maintained a manual over ride for Schedule line category on a lower level item of a BOM. In sales order when I try to change the schedule line cat manually I am not able to. In fact the entire line is greyed out.
The quantities on the main item are confirmed. can you please advise

We are adding the unit of measure to the pricing access sequence. If I enter a product that explodes into a lower level item from the bill of material you can only enter the unif of measure on the high level material and it doesn't copy down to the lower level item and I want them to match.

Issue in determining Low level codes

Hi Gurus,
We are having an issue running heuristics when running along with Temporary low level codes. We are in SCM 7.0 environment.
The SNP Heuristics jobs are failing with this message "Low-level code
not available for product XXXXXXX at location XXXX
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE"
Also, the message in the job log for the product in was flagged for deletion and I am not too sure why is this being picked up for processing and then failing?
I tried using SDP relevance as '1' for the product flagged for deletion for testing purposes and then the program is not considering this SKU, but stopping at another SKU and also that SKU is flagged for deletion. But the flip side of using SDP relevance is that that setting is at global level andmay have issues where the SKU is active.
I have couple questions:
1) Is there a way for the program to skip the code which has an error and move forward instead of failing the job? and provide a spool with error codes.Also, to provide the LLC number for all the correct SKU's instead of failing at that point and not generating the LLC's?
2) Why is the program also considering the codes which are flagged for deletion which should not be the case?
Also, I tried another way of maintaining the codes in thevariant which are not flagged for deletion and tried running heuristics in the background but failed at a point and it gave a message stating Low-level code not available for product XXXXXXX at location XXXX, Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
But the product which was displayed in the job log is an active SKU. I am not too sure why the job failed with this error?
I tried running that individual SKU in the background including the temporary determination of LLC, it was successful. I am not too sure why it failed when it was a part of selection?
Any suggestions, would really help us a lot.

Hi Datta - Thanks for the replies. I was able to have a workaround by using selection profiles excluding the Procurement type 'P' and it worked.
At our client, whenever a product is made 'non-X0' in ECC, procurement type is set to 'P' and by excluding that piece in the variant I was able to continue with my processing.
But still, don't you think the products which are flagged for deletion shouldn't be picked up heuristics?

Collective Planned orders Scheduling for lower level orders with reference to the Superior order

Hi All,
Collective planned order scheduling.
I have been trying to reschedule the superior planned order and i was expecting the lower level planned orders to reschedule based on the superior planned order.
My problem is
when i try to reschedule the superior planned order the system is not rescheduling the lower level planned orders.
For example if i change the basic finish date of superior planned order as 30/09/2014 and reschedule the planned order it is only scheduling the header planned order and the lower level planned order is not scheduling.
Could some one tell me why this is not happenning at planned order level.
As the rescheduling of collective order will work at production order level but for some reason it is not happening at planned order level(as there is no option available to do so).
Please give your thoughts on this asap.

Please observe that your system is working as designed. Planned orders are scheduled independently, even when they are part of a network/collective order. Note 152319 explains the planned order scheduling in detail and it provides the following information:
* No scheduling of overall networks is executed although a directly manufactured component is assigned.
Note that no scheduling of the overall network is executed for planned orders. For the components requirements dates are determined. In order to cover them, planned orders are created in the next MRP run. Since the requirements are not managed using the exact time, the results of the planned order scheduling and of a scheduling of the overall network of the converted collective order can differ.

Error Msg -A Low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player

I have CS6 installed, all the latest patches, etc. It's been working fine for months.In the last week Pr is unable to playback all of my footage (Native 5D mark III h.246 and Canon xf305 footage). Whether it is on the timeline or in the source panel.
The Error message i get it this: A Low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Player (player).
Using Adobe CS 6.0.3
Windows 64 Bit 8 GBs RAM
Happens in new projects and old.
New timelines also affected, it appears.
Was not happening as recently as two days ago.
No changes made to the computer.
Only changes is that I have combined timeines (Imported) from one project to another.
Video shows yellow or Green.
I have rerendered the footage to show all green on timeline.
Only way around it is to reboot the computer, it comes back after a while. The problematic timelines work fine for a while, then this starts happening.
I deleted the media cache database folder after exiting Pr.
Didn't seem to change anything. I just got the error again. Things seem to be curiously messed up. I tried to render a sequence out to MXF. The headless crashed each time, (not totally unusual, but it couldn't complete even once). I also got an error message when I bypassed the Media Encoder and just went strait to rendering it out within Pro. It managed to continue to render it to MXF but when I got done and imported it into Pro, it didn't play the clip when I clicked on it.
The interesting thing to me is that to totally clear Adobe from RAM, I have to go into Task Manager and kill the process after exiting the program (in lieu of rebooting). So it's not closing properly, it appears. Once I kill the process and reopen the app, I can then play the sequence, for a while. It's very curious. Task manager also shows lots of RAM open, no memory leaks at work, nothing unusual. It appears, to be just choking on footage, sort of like it can't quite process the audio (like when you bring in new footage and it has to process that audio). What's happening is like it sees the audio at first when I bring it in at startup of the app, then loses it. If I exit without killing the Premiere process (or shutting down the machine), then it still exhibets the behavior on startup again.
So this project is large, for me. It is showing as 34 MBs. I have a wide variety of clips at play here, but only MXF Canon from the xf305 and MOV from the Canon 5D. The MXF are the default sequence(s) unless I shot nothing but MOV.
I have tried rendering the visualization, all green lines on top but that doesn't seem to fully help. It does play the footage for a while.
There are no special effects added, yet.
Is it worth re-installing Premiere? This has cost me the better part of a day screwing around with this.
Let me detail this again:
Premiere is installed on C There hundreds of GBs of storage avaialble there.
All project files are on F which is a RAID 1 array. It appears to be functioning normally. 800 GBs free space on 2TBs.
All Renders are taking out to an external drive like I always do. Lot s of space available there too.

Different Calculations based on Hierarchy Level

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to do different calculations of results based on the hierarchy level.
For example:
Level A - (total of maximums)
             Level B.1 - (maximum)
             Level B.2 - (maximum)
                    Level C
I need Level B to be the maximum and Level A to bo the total of the maximum values in Level B.
For example I may have a maximum in B.1 of 100 and a maximum of 200 in B.2
I then need to get a total of 300 in appearing in level A. Currently if I apply the maximum in the calculate results, it displays 200 in level A.
I then need to use these numbers at each level in formulas.
I am using BI 7.0.
Any ideas?

According to your description, you want to apply condition with only one case statement which can affect any product region dimension. Right?
In Analysis Services, it's not supported to use one reference pointing to all available dimensions which the lower level hierarchy has same name. In this scenario, it's better to create one dimension which combines all the products region. You can have a
higher level for [Product-XX Region].

Why don't lower level classes recognize symbols used in the .fla file?

I'm trying to reorganize my code. I have a Paradox.as file, which is linked to a Paradox.fla file. When I referenced symbols placed on the timeline in my Paradox.as file, my animation code works. Then I decided to move the code lower down into the hierarchy. In my Paradox.as file, I create new instances of the Character class. The following is the folder hierarchy for the related files. * denotes a folder, and tab denotes its contents:
*Paradox 1-3
     Paradox.fla
     *code
          Paradox.as
          * Player
               Character.as
The symbol "player" is a Character type symbol on the Paradox.fla timeline, as are several other symbols. Everything works just fine if I'm referencing these symbols in Paradox.as. However, when I moved the code to Character.as (changing former references to Character type symbols in Paradox.as to "this" in Character.as), none of the symbols on the timeline are recognized any longer. This is true of both Character type symbols and other types of symbols placed on the timeline. Why? Does Paradox.as recognize the symbols only because it is linked to Paradox.fla as the Document Class? I even exported the Character symbol to Character.as...

Oh. Yeah. The .as file linked to the .fla file works just fine. What I was saying in my original post was, even though that part worked fine, when I transferred to a lower level class that was not linked to the .fla file but was instantiated in the .as file that was linked to the .fla file, I couldn't access anything on the stage directly. What I ended up doing was passing the references to the lower level class.
I can't find the checkbox where it says "Automatically declare stage instances", but fortunately for me it's enabled. When calling a MovieClip that's on the stage, I only have to use its name in the .as file that's linked to the .fla file.

Eror Pr6 Low/Level exception AEV

Hi my name is Fernando and I have a problem in Pr 6. I have my project in 3 parts assembly and use, a plug of RedGiant. At render time I get an unknown error, if I look at the video track appears a red cross (bottom - right) which reads as follows: A low-level exception ocurred in: Light Factory EZ (AEVideo Filter). Reinstall the plugin but as usual, also tried clearing the cache but still no solution. Thank you and hope for your help!

USB Camera and Low level VIs

Hello all,
I am beginner in LabView and I am seeking help for the following:
I need to adapt a vi using a regular (analog) camera so to start using a USB camera instead. When I viewed the block diagram (which is really complicated for me) I noticed that the original programmer used the low level IMAQ VI's (e.g. IMAQ intil.vi and IMAQ configure Buffer.vi) to communicate, control and acquire images from the camera. Now, I am really confused, does these VIs work with all cameras? If not can I replace them with the IMAQ USB VIs'? How would this affect the other VIs that depends on the out come of the replaced ones? Finally, I would be glad if anyone can point out things to read so to acquire more knowledge about this subject?
I know I asked much but really I want to learn these things as fast as possible

All I want to do is using USB camera instead of the one used now! so does
these low level VIs work with the USB camera
or I should use the USB camera VIs which will mean that i will end up with many
broken wires since low-level VIs has
different number on inputs that the USB camera VIs

P.S. in case you will wonder about the sequence structure; it is only the
camera setting that I am interested and it is the one shown in the
structure
All the broken wires in the picture are going into a very larg while loop with
many other VIs.

I keep getting "low-level exception occurred in: waveform audio (exporter)"

when I try to edit a clip from preimere pro cs6 with the context menu "edit clip in audition" it gives me the low-level exception occurred in: waveform audio (exporter) error in the log and does nothing.
what is happening and how do I fix it?

Often, when two programs in a suite are being used with one another, which forum to post to, can be a bit of a gray area. Those, who suggested the Au Forum, probably fixated on that part of the workflow.
Had you posted here, there might well have been a few, who would have suggested the Au Forum.
As the Au folk have not encountered this error, the PrPro Forum is probably the best place to be right now.
Unfortunately, I have neither encountered that error, nor have I read of it, so I am of no use, other than to say that someone here will probably be able to get you some help.
Now, I do agree that at the point in your workflow, where you are encountering the error, it probably IS a PrPro error.

Low-Level admin capabilities?

Heya - I'm not in IT, so most of this is foreign to me, but I'm trying to figure out a solution to a problem we have at my office. The IT staff is stumped, so I thought I'd do my part to help.
We have many stations running Final Cut software. Any given project is shared via the SAN by at least 3 people, and contains media that is created & edited by multiple departments. Occasionally, a file referenced within the Final cut project (.tiff, .wav, etc...) will be written with incorrect permissions, and the other editors will not be able to write over it if necessary, or worse, play the project file at all.
File permissions are an easy thing to fix, but can only be done by someone with an admin password. The problem - waiting an hour for IT to get to it is not an option.
My question: Is there a way to grant specific individuals quasi-admin privileges for low level tasks like this? (There's no way that a full access admin pass would be shared by the IT dept, of course)

A couple options:
Edit the Umask settings. As long as all your teams are in the same groups together, the groups rights are read/write by default instead of read only. Be careful though, you can lose work if your users save over each other.
Another option is Access Control Lists, or ACLs. IT will have to help you set this up, but you can use their more granular settings to get a finer control of permissions.
Or you can ask your users to be disciplined enough to always set file permissions to the files they create. The owner of a file can set any permissions they want, but this approach depends on user compliance so it pretty much never works.

R100 low level format utility

Hi all, I think I got a problem with my R100 hard drive. I cannot high level format by some reasons, bad sectors I guess. So, I'm trying to find a solution and I guess the low level format could be a solution for this. But, I couldn't find a utility for low level format. So, is there any utility I can do low level format R100 Hard?

You don't wanna low-level format anything these days! All current hard drives won't even let you. I had a problem with bad sectors and metallic noises from my drive last month and I tried to fix it with utilities like "spinrite" and a myriad of other software without success. I used spinrite to rebuild the hd. It took three(!!!) days! The drive then worked for a couple of hours before it developed new read errors. This symptom means that there are un-recoverable errors on the drive and you want to buy a new one.
If you have warranty left, RMA it, otherwise go and buy a new drive. In Sweden the HD was incredibly expensive, about $400 (ridiculus, right!!). I had to buy this drive: http://www.sarotech.com/english/cgi/pd.cgi?cmd=view&rno=5
for $260 and grab the hd from the casing.
