Calendar AND ToDo AND iCal AND sync

I can not find any app that syncs with the ToDo list in iCal on my Mac.
*APPLE - Why can't you add this capability the Calendar app?* You have room for a "ToDo" button to the right of the "Month" view button. The All Calendar ToDo view in iCal is THE MOST USEFUL ToDo view in iCal and should be available to us on the iPhone.
It is extremely awkward to find ToDo items using the Mail app on the iPhone and almost as bad to use them in the Mac mail tool. Sync with Mail does NOT solve this problem.
Anyone else like this idea please add on.

There is no way top natively sync ToDo's with your iPhone. It's been a complaint since the very first iPhone came off the line. If you have a desktop GTD program like OmniFocus, you can get the iPhone version, and this syncs vis-a-vis iDisc or mobileme. Things has a similar setup that syncs through WiFi. Some People use the free Zenbe Lists program, but you must have an active internet connection on both your mac and your iPhone for this to work.
You've probably read about the work-arounds, like creating a contact called ToDo, and using the Notes field for your todolist which then can be edited on either end and synced.
BUt there is nothing that takes your tasks out of your iCal and puts them onto your iPhone and vice versa.
Even hundred dollar programs like OmniFocus can't do this (although you can set up a sync between OmniFocus and your iCal tasks -- but this has to be synced manually.
Besides the awful touch typing, it's the most complained about missing feature for any serious smartphone user.

MAC LION AND BOLD 9700 - Duplicating calendar and syncing issues

I have a Bold 9700 (OS 5) and a Desktop Manager running on MAC (OS LION).
My calendar on the MAC works perfectly, however on the device it appears duplicated several times (however the duplication is 15 minutes ahead and it also creates a "new event" 15 minutes ahead. Very wierd.
I also have error on syncing calendar and tasks.
On the device, the CICAL and CMIME are XXXgmail.com
Do you believe the new calendar on Lion is not compatible with the device?

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
I would suggest going to Device>Forget Device in BlackBerry Desktop Software. Then close it down unplug the BlackBerry via USB, Plug it back in then open BlackBerry Desktop Software and setup the synchronization and test a few times.

Entering events in Outlook (2010/2007) calendar and syncing with iCloud

Setup: H/W and S/W: 1) Personal PC with Windows 7, Outlook 2010, 2) Work PC with Windows 7, Outlook 2007, 3) iPhone 5
Created unique iCloud user ID (different from Apple ID) to permit use of individual calendar and contacts across all platforms without co-mingling of data (contacts etc.) with rest of family (who is under same Apple ID). Works well.
Installed iCloud on both PCs, enabled iCloud on iPhone, all using new unique iCloud ID
My secretary creates events (as organizer) for me (as invitee) in her local Outlook calendar (on her PC) which appear on my work PC Oultook calendar. These events also appear in my iCloud calendar on my work PC. Good! (FYI, She uses her local Outlook calendar so she can invite others from work who are on same email system.)
Issue: As said before, events created by secretary appear in my local Outlook calendar and my iCloud calendar on my work PC but not on my iCloud calendar on my personal PC at home. Events created in iCloud on work PC do appear on personal PC, just not events created on local Outlook calendar at work. Seems, if these events appear in iCloud in one place, they choudl appear in iCloud in all places...yes? the cloud is the cloud is the cloud...is it not?
Am I missing a step? I have refreshed iCloud in all.

Advice for sharing a calendar and syncing with a handheld device

I want to publish my calendar to a select group of people - not publicly - and allow those people to alter my calendar - which then would sync with my blackberry - or other handheld, if i had to replace it. does anyone have any ideas?

All Mobile Me is one way and probably easiest. However to avoid the cost, I'd recommend Google Calendar.
Make everyone a free account, then you can subscribe iCal/Outlook to Google Calendar. Everyone can view/edit once you share your Calendar.
Also, iPhones will be able to directly sync with Google Calendar using Exchange Activesync and won't even need to sync with iCal through iTunes.

Using calendar and syncing/backing up on laptop - help

I'm a new ipod touch user. I've spent a couple of hours looking for the answer to my question but without any luck. I think its straightforward but I can't figure it out...can you help me?
Basically I want to be able to back up my calendar on to my netbook/laptop(the calendar that came with the ipod touch as shown on the 'home' screen).
I've downloaded itunes as I understood there was some calendar application on there but in the info tab is says "no calendar supported action can be found".
What do I do next?
I don't want to start to use the calendar without knowing I can back it up onto my laptop.
I hope some clever clogs can point me in the right direction! Thanks x

i'm not sure the difference between outlook and outlook express either, but yeah they do seem to be different. don't think you can just download it though, it's a microsoft office program, so if you have an office package you should have it on there (although i'm still using office 2000, which is too early for ipod syncing, need 2003 or later i think)
i havent looked too deeply into mobile me either, can you pay on a month by month basis? might be worth it if you don't have to plump for a long period at a time. especially to get to the summer and discover much more flexibility when 3.0 comes out. (not that i'm suggesting it definitely will, but its a possibility i strongly hope does come to fruition!)

Calendar and sync. facebook events

I'm sorry for my english but I'm italian.
I've a problem with my iPhone 4S after the installation of ios 6.
The configuration with facebook is installed, the sync. of contacts is OK,
the problem is with the calendar:
don't sync. the events when in menu_settings_Mail, Contact & Calendar I flag sync. events of 1 month later.
When I flag sync. all events the calendar sync. correct...
Please help me!!!

Reminders, notes, calendars and syncing

Notes, calenders and reminders simply do not sync with mobile devices unless they are in the icloud folder. So, any such data on an iphone, for example, on the 'on my iphone' account will not sync with my MBA.
Why can't Apple just fix this as there must be a lot of us who are in this predicament?

Thanks. I have gone into System Preferences into my MBA and into Mail etc but there is no 'add a service' option. I have already ticked the reminders, notes and calender options.

Publish and sync

I publish my work calendar (named "Business) to my .Mac account so that I can give the URL to others on campus to facilitate scheduling meetings, etc. But I also want to be able to synchronize that calendar on my home computers so I can add/edit events at work or at home. Is that OK? When I duplicated the Work calendar at home, it was also set to publish. That made me worry it would overwrite any changes on the ical.mac.com site, and they would be out of sync, so I turned off the publish feature on my home Mac. That turned off the web calendar completely! Not the intended consequence.
So I just want to know if it's OK or if it's a bad idea (I fear data corruption!) to both publish a calendar and sync it on several Macs at once. I also sync with a Palm T3, using Missing Sync. Thanks!

I thougt I'd expand on the Jörg's answer a bit. The isse isn't that your pages aren't being activated. They are likely in fact being activated just fine. You can verify this by examining the content tree on your publish instance. The issue is that the components you created and are using on those pages aren't present on the publish instance - as you noted. It's important to keep in my that CQ won't activate components / templates assocaited with a Page. You need to deploy your code - there a number of ways you can do this, the best will depend on your environment / needs. A few possible options are the following:
Create a Package of your code and activate the package
Use Tree activation to activate everything you've created under /apps
Note that if you added any OSGI Bundles to Felix via the Web Console, then you'll need to manually add those to your publish instance via the Felix Web Console there. However, I'd really recommend adding any necessary Bundles to your application code at /apps/<application>/install. This will allow the Bundles to be included in either of the 2 methods mentioned above.

Going mad! Please someone I want to delete all my calendars - and yes ....

My Iphone has somehow in addition to a work and a home calendar for my mobileme account - ended up with 12 (yes 12) sep. calendars under UNTITLED
I want to delte them but cannot so far - tried so many forums and solutions none which have worked.
I sync my Iphone via my pc as I wanted to use Outlook with it.
Can someone please help before I give up with calendars and sync in general

So what are you using at the moment? If it's iCal + MobileMe the best solution would be to wipe/delete the MobileMe account on your iPhone and set it up again.
If it's Outlook, Create a new calendar in Outlook and make sure it has blank records, sync it over via iTunes so the blank Calendar erases the current set of records on your iPhone, then sync back over the original Calendar.
Tell me if that works.

Lost calendar and contacts on iPad

New to this and first post.
Since mailbox got moved from Yahoo to BT my email address got changed from Openworld to Btinernet. I was updating my iPad to try and get my mail and I have now lost my calendar and contacts.
Any suggestions. I cannot find anything on the website.

Is this any help?

Apple, please fix Calendar, iCal, iCloud, Sync and let us work...

There're so many errors and bugs, please redo it from the start an do it right. Don't you have enough resources?
Have you guys seen how many discussions are about iCal, Calendar and iCloud, sync service, '403 error', 'There was an unexpected error with the request (domain (null) / error 0)', 'The server responded: “403” to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation' , etc, etc.??
Don't you think is enough? At least Mobil me used to work fine..
I don't want to offend anybody but I bet there are some users out there sick and tired of these things...

I'm going to pile on to the iCloud iCal and Reminders implimentation. I'm still using Snow Leopard so I did a work around with setting iCloud up as a CalDav account. But why is it that between my iPhone, iPad, iCloud.com and my MacBook Pro that iCal on my MacBook is the only place where I can see my events and ToDos on the same screen? I can almost understand on the iPhone, but with the iPad and iCloud interface there is plenty of real estate.
I don't know how any body can use the iOS and iCloud tools to effectively manage thier schedules. As it is I am using third party iOS apps and google calendars and tasks.

How to sync hotmail calendars and ICal using exchange/ active-sync.

I have just recently updated my hotmail account to the exchange setting in my iPhone and I have synced my mail,calendar and contacts. I'm just wondering if it's possible to sync my hotmail Calendar with my iCal on Mac os x using the exchange program. Also out of curiosity has any body been able to sync their hotmail with mail using exchange?

How to sync calendar and contact with Galaxy S2 and iCal and Address Book, how to sync calendar and contact with Galaxy S2 and iCal and Address Book

I have a Galaxy S2, gmail account, hotmail account and want to know the best way to be able to sync calendar and contacts from the Galaxy S2 with iCal and Address Book. I want to be able to make changes on any device and be able to sync the changes. Hotmail is my main email account and would prefer to use tha account but I know that the Galaxy prefers Google. Any ideas?

You have several ways to sync your phone to a mac.
You can use Samsung Kies for mac. You can download it here.
You can also use Google for it. Open Adress Book, click Adress Book on the left top of the screen, click Prefferences and open the Accounts tab. You'll see a "Synchronize with Google" checkbox, click it, enter you mail and password and you are good to go.
On iCal go to Preferences (top left, click iCal to see it), open the Accounts Tab, you'll see a blank list on the left, at the bottom of it there is a "+" sign, click on it and select Google on the Account Type dropdown list, enter your account details and you are done.
Third way to do it is by using third party software such as SyncMate.
Hope any of these alternatives solve your problem!
(The iCal and Address Book instructions are for Snow Leopard, but it should be almost the same on Lion)

Difference between syncing iCal with .me Calendar and publishing my iCal

This is probably kind of simple for most, but I'm actually just learning about iCal and how I can centralize my calendars in iCal on Calendar at .mac (or .me I guess). The Help section doesn't really address the confusion I have. So thanks for any insight you can share.
1. What is the difference between syncing my iCal with Calendar and publishing my iCal to .me?
2. I just added a new event to iCal. Then I clicked on a sync button (via the sidebar of my local iDisk). But when I checked Calendar, that new event wasn't there. Does anyone know why and then what to do to make it appear?
3. When/If I add a new event while I'm at Calendar, how do I make sure it appears on my iCal? Do I follow the same local iDisk sync routine?
4. Can my 2 friends and I log on to my account at the same time to view my Calendar while we're all on our laptops.

Ok, I wonder if you could help me with a similar but different problem. I have been using iCal now for awhile but only recently started using Google Calendars (once I found out they could both be synced together). Anyway, I understand how to set up the sync, it's very simple especially following the link that you already provided. But, I have three calendars for personal, school, and work already in iCal that are in the default group that iCal starts with of "calendars".
Anyway, when you create a new account in iCal to set up the syncing, it creates a whole new calendar group. I had never had an "account" before, so all my three main calendars are separate from this new account. Is there anyway to move or duplicate those calendars into my new calendar group so that I can have one flowing set of synced information between google and iCal without manually retyping all of the information myself? I have tried dragging the calendars down into the other group and all you can do is reorder them within the group they're already in. Even a duplication would work, if that is possible (to duplicate a whole calendar).
Any insight from anyone would be incredibly helpful.
