Calendar Storage - Forced Close on sync
I am using Microsoft Outlook as one of my email accounts, and the email part is working fine, but the Calendar Sync doesn't work. For some reason, I keep getting an error message that keeps stopping the sync and my calendar does not complete updating. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I have all my google sync information turned off and only have my outlook calendar sync'd to Calendar on phone. I'm having to turn off sync because it will continue to attempt this and eat up my battery power Please help.
Message: The application Calendar Storage (process.com.android.calendar) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close.
I have provided some information below that may help.
Step 1 – Try completing a soft reset on the device. I have provided the instruction in an article below:
Power off the device and remove the battery.
http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=35281
Step 2 – Try resetting the data on the calendar storage application. I have provided the steps below:
-Select Menu
-Select Settings
-Select Applications
-Select Manage Applications
-Select Calendar Storage
-Select Clear Data (you will get a message stating: All of this application's data will be deleted permanently. This includes all files, settings, accounts, databases and so on.)

I connected my phone to my PC through a USB cord and went to change my USB settings to media sync, but when I went to go to my USB settings, it wouldn't let me enter and gave me the message of "The application Media sync (process com.samsung.mtp) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." with the only option of force close and when I press that it takes me back into "main" settings screen. I tried unmounting my sd card, taking it out and putting it back in. I tried updating my phone but that didn't work either. I have never had this happen to my phone. It always worked fine when I went to change my USB settings. Any help or suggestions?
My Fascinate started issues after DL09 update as well. The "Mount" option and USB window never pops up, just the media sync: connected then timer never moves. Also obtained a constant GPS icon to the left of the 3G icon on the very top status bar. Now I have no way to upload or download music unless I acquire the sandisk adapter and pull the card. I hope to get an answer soon from Verizon, but the phone is warranted so now is the time to see if they stand behind it.

LOTS of spinning wheels in Mountain Lion--multiple applications, ALL the time

Having the exact same issue. Also, on right click, many apps freeze/beachball and must force close. Additionally, uTorrent and Transmission are not operating correctly-uTorrent constantly beachballing and unresponsive. Right-click freezes with everything from Word to iMovie. Takes way too much time to do anything, and lots of cursor freezing, here is a sys log excerpt:

RH9 Snippets not saving, RH not closing have to force close
I'm a new RH user so please forgive me if this is answered somewhere else (I did search for awhile first).
Windows XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 3
RoboHelp 9 HTML 9.0.1.232 (recent upgrade from RH7) Project has about a thousand topics
Using Visual SourceSafe (VSS) for version control
There were snippets in the project before I started and before this upgrade - those all are usable and stay where you put them through saving and closing RH. Other edits to topics seem to be surviving the save process also. Snippets I create (have not created any before this) are not surviving when I save the project, but they are creating .hts files on the hard drive (but not showing up in VSS). Also, when I create multipe new snippets, the first one and only the first one I create shows up in the snippet pod (before closing RH), and when I save/close/reopen RH, none show in the pod.
Note: had the same as problem/related to this forum question.
Also, now when I try to close RH it just closes the active tabs but does not close the project and I have to force close RH in the Windows Task Manager.
Summary:
Edits to topics that do not involve snippets are being saved
Edits that involve snippets created before yesterday are saved
Snippets created by me:
All are creating files on my hard drive
None are going into Visual SourceSafe
Only the first shows up in the Snippet pod before RH closes
None show up in the Snippet pod when RH is reopened later
So there we are. Any ideas or suggestions?OK, my colleague (who is a RH certified expert) figure out what was going on. Basically, in addition to our two hard drive copies of the project being out of sync (which we fixed by deleting some, taking some out of VSS that didn't belong, and recopying everything onto my hard drive) there is an underlying snippet problem which my colleague diagnosed as follows (her description):
The project was worked on in RH7 for a couple of years. In early June 2011, RH9 was installed. The project was opened in RH9, and the appropriate ‘do you want to convert the project’ message displayed. I proceeded to do the conversion.
Everything seemed to convert rather well except for one thing – the snippets. If you opened the Properties window for a snippet, you could see the description; however, the description would not display in the Pod in the designated “Description” column.
As a test, I created a new snippet in RH9, which generated the following code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta name="topic-comment" content="here's the description" />
<title>New Snippet</title>
<meta name="generator" content="Adobe RoboHelp 9" />
</head>
<body>
<p>This is placeholder text for your snippet. To add content to the body,
replace this text. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>For information about applying snippets to topics, press <b>F1</b>.</p>
</body>
</html>
However, the code for a converted snippet looks like this:
<!doctype HTML public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Frameset//EN">
<html><head>
<meta http-equiv=content-type content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
<meta name=generator content="Adobe RoboHelp - www.adobe.com">
<meta name=generator-major-version content=0.1>
<meta name=generator-minor-version content=1>
<meta name=filetype content=RoboHelp>
<meta name=filetype-version content=1>
<meta name=page-count content=1>
<meta name=layout-height content=487>
<meta name=layout-width content=424>
<title>Use this snippet as the explanation for the Credit Type field on a form.</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>Unit of credit for the course. Together with the Credit Value, it defines
the possible credit hours earned for the course.</p>
</body>
</html>
Notice how the text that is in the title tag is actually the DESCRIPTION for the snippet. Also, there is no meta tag for the real description in the converted code. The real title for this snippet is Credit Type, but for some reason, that does not display in the converted snippet code. The name only displays correctly in the Properties window, like this:
Strange how the name (or “Title” as the code seems to indicate it should be) correctly displays in the Properties window, but that name is nowhere in the actual code in the HTS file.
So it seems to me that there is a disconnect between what’s in the code, and what’s displaying in RH, and I’m not sure how or why that happened. I simply allowed RH9 to convert my RH7 project, and this Snippet problem was the only resulting problem that I’ve found.
Is there any way to get this properly fixed by Adobe? Even when we enter the appropriate descriptions ourselves, they STILL don’t display properly in the Snippets pod. Sometimes some of them display, sometimes all of them don’t display, and sometimes if you perform an action (like creating a new snippet), then that action will cause some or all of the descriptions to display.
Here’s an example --
1st screenshot below – the Snippets pod as it typically displays for us in RH9. Absolutely no descriptions displaying.
2nd screenshot below – I created a new snippet. The description for the new snippet displays PLUS the two descriptions for recently created snippets display! You can only see one of them in the screenshot (“Curriculum Considered Complete Situations”), but further down the list, the description for a snippet named “Requiring Search Criteria” also displays after creating the new snippet (Note: Both of these snippets were created in RH9, which raises the questions: Why didn’t the descriptions already display *before* I created a new snippet? Why did the action of creating a new snippet *cause* the two snippet descriptions to suddenly display?)
Another Note: After my co-worker had manually gone through all of the snippets and manually added descriptions (and updated the “Title” tags to reflect the actual title of each snippet), this caused some issues – erratic Snippet pod behavior, and he had to keep using the Task Manager to close RH (normal close methods wouldn’t work). So since RH9 started acting funny and wouldn’t close for him, we reverted back to using the HTS files and the rhsnippet.apj snippet file that RH9 originally converted for us, and those original files are what we are continuing to use, but we would like to have a solution for the problem. Why didn’t RH9 properly convert the HTS files? Or at least, to us, based on the code that’s actually in the files, they don’t appear to be properly converted. -
K1 wakes up from Standby randomly & Camera Force Close
I just bought my K1 last week from Best Buy Canada, and I updated to the latest firmware (Kernel 2.6.36.3, Build K1_A301_02_02_110930_CA).
Sometimes, when I put it on Standby via the Power button or Widget, it wakes up again after 10 seconds and shows the main Locked Screen with the date & time. Is something Sync-inc in the background and waking it up? I haven't yet installed anything new on it.
Also, sometimes, when I'm in the camera app, and I press the "take picture" button, it force closes. This happens constantly if I keep trying, until I reboot. The pictures seem to get taken/saved, but they don't show up in the gallery until I reboot.
Anyone else?@Burger - I thought you were talking about my problem. But about your issue - if nothing works maybe you just should exchange your model for new? Maybe it's hardware problem in some serie, like e.g. 1000 devises, you know, factory failure or sth.
@aleafonthewind - I haven't got the problem with camera too.
About what you described - yes, random wakeups.
Normally, it should work like this: When you use your tablet and for that or other reason you stop for a while, you click the power button. After that tablet goes into standby mode and the screen is turned off. When you come back after 30 sec/1 min/30 min etc., doesn't matter, it should STILL be in standby mode with turned off screen.
But instead of this - after clicking the power button the tablet goes into standby mode and turns off screen, but after a while (as I experienced it was from few second to few minutes) it wakes up without any particular reason.
It looked to me like something, either software stuff like process, program, update etc., or hardware stuff, like a modul, processor or other component, wakes up the tablet. But why? Still don't know and still looking for an answer.
If anyone have any clue, even if you don't use K1 but maybe you observed similar issue on smartphone, laptop, please let us know, every idea could be useful!

Can't force close app on iOS 5.1.1
Greetings everyone. I have a first generation iPad updated to it's latest version of 5.1.1. I've been having issues opening, updating, or even force closing the app HBO GO. I know about the the force close by double clicking the Home button then pressing and holding an open app for it to wiggle for the close box to appear, but for HBO GO, no such option appears, and the app remains forever frozen, with no way to kill it.
Per article iOS: Not responding or does not turn on step 3 states: If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
I'm about to go to bed, and my iPad is now backing up into iCloud right now, but I was wondering if anyone might have a solution so I don't to reset my device as restoring my iPad is a huge time sync.
Thanks!If the other ideas do not work, maybe you should hold the home button and the S/W button at the same time. That cold reboot the specified device and help with answering the question. If solution one didn't work, try solution 2: Wiping all of the data off of your device. By going into settings>General>Reset (Apple device here), then follow the on-screen instructions to reset the device to factory defaults. After that, log into your Apple ID and re-install the app you struggled closing.
IF solutions 1 or 2 didn't work, it may be an app that requires IOS 6 or above, meaning that your app is incompatible with your current operating system.
Those 3 ideas may or may not work so be careful with what I told you. -
Well, I have an iPhone 4. This is the worst phone I have ever had. It never acts right. My apps always force close when I'm doing important things. I sent Apple my phone a couple months ao and it came back with the same issue. This phone urks my nerves, I seriously dont want it anymore. I have done many hard resets and all. Nothing helps. My Wifi Never works, I have wifi everywhere. But I recieved a text from AT&T saying I used 90% of my 3G. I never went over my limit any times before.
Restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.

Droid 2 - Back Up Assistant Force Closes
For a few days now my Back Up Assitant will not sync, then the "force close" pop up window will pop up. How do I get it to stop doing this?
I've had the phone since July 2011 and have really enjoyed having it but this worries me.Issues are common with Backup Assistant, you can try clearing the cache and data from app and setup again or transfer the info to Google...
Clear Cache:
Go to Settings / Applucations . Manage Applications / All Tab / Sync Service / Clear All
Transfer to Google:
1. Log into Verizon Backup Assistant
2. Click on Export to CSV
3. Save File as (or Rename to) Contacts (it should already be converted to CSV so including .csv is redundant)
4. Log into Gmail/Google Voice
5. Click on Contacts
6. Click on Import
7. Browse for the Contacts (.csv) file
8. Click Import
9. Disable BA by going to Settings / Applucations . Manage Applications / All Tab / Sync Service / Clear All -

Com.motorola.service.main force close
i keep getting this force close message on my bionic since the 902 update anyone else having this problem, or have a solution. it happenin almost anyprogram i run
I just got a Motorola XPRT from "Boost Mobile" after being a VZW customer for over 12 years, and I am getting the same error, but only after connecting to my hotmail account. I had a Droid X (I think that's what it was) on VZW and never had this problem with Hotmail, but it was an older Droid. So perhaps the software was different.
I think this error must have something to do with syncing mail, whether with corporate mail or even a hotmail account, perhaps where there are too many messages to sync before a timeout or something. This is my wife's phone and she has a TON of email in her hotmail inbox. I just moved the ~1700 unread emails to another folder, leaving only about 70 unread, but still have the problem. So maybe that's got nothing to do with it. Coupled with the "max attempts in 15 minute" error for a POP3 account, this has been a real pain to resolve. Try three times, wait 15 minutes, try something else, wait 15 minutes. Ughh.
Well, since it looks like there have been no other posts on this issue since November 2011, perhaps VZW got this problem licked back over six months ago, while Sprint/Boost Mobile has probably not figured it out yet. You definitely get what you pay for in this world (most of the time anyway). -
i have a samsung galaxy and i have been using viber on it for a while now. All of a sudden when i click on a chat with my friend it stops unexpectedly and force closes. So im unable to read the messages with my friend. It only happens with this particular contact. Viber works perfectly fine when i talk to everyone else.
Im not sure if its doing this because i havent updated the app, but im affraid that if i update it will delete my conversations. And i dont want it to. Because i havent seen the messages from my friend yet.
If anyone else has the same problems, please let me know or help me out, thankyouI have not seen yourf problem posted before here.
Have you tried:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
Primarily, my social networking applications will force close, but occasionally, Safari will also force close. I've tried restarting my iPod and I've also tried reinstalling my apps. It worked for a bit but now it's doing it again. I'd greatly appreciate any help!

Can I prevent old calendars to be deleted when syncing?
I was wondering if there is any way to prevent iCal from deleting old calendars when syncing Blackberrys or other phones that usually force cancellation upon sync of events which are older than a certain time frame.

Can't download new apps and lots of force closes since iOS7. Help!
Since the iOS7 mandatory update I have not been able to download new apps via my iPad mini or by connecting the device to my computer. Apps on my mini also force close frequently, specifically Gmail, Candy Crush, and Facebook. Any advice?
I have long since fixed the problem by resetting my iPad, but I wanted you to know that my question was not vague. I could not download anything directly to my iPad or by syncing it to my computer. No detail required; it just didn't work. This surprised me since everyone raves about how great Apple products are. Might as well have bought a Surface.
Also, force closes continue to be a problem for me. Resetting seems to be the only solution for this, too. I just hold he Home button and the Capture button until the apple appears then it boots up again. -
Google play force close on open
I just got a slightly used HP touch pad and on setup realized that I needed to use Google play to download apps, after setting up my Google account and singing in insuring wifi access ......Google play opens says "server error retry" and force closes the program. Since then I have done some research factory reset the tablet, installed latest updates, force closed through app settings and erased all info for Google play reset the I connection rebooted several times, and made sure time date and location were correct. I am still experiencing the same problem with the app. If anybody has any ideas that might help me it would be highly appreciated :-)
Hello Rockafied!
The HP TouchPad comes with webOS installed as its operating system. Yours has been modified to add Android to it, and as such we don't officially support this type of change to the device.
That said, there is an app existing called "gapps_fixer.zip" existing in the wild. This may or may not solve your problem.
If you are unfamiliar with hacking this device, or how CM9 or CM10 was installed on it, it may require some research on your part to learn how to fix the issue. Visit the "Android on the TouchPad" section of webosnation.com for some insight.
