Calendars Disappeared

All my Calendars in iCal and all Events and To Do just vanished while I was in iCal.

I rather stupidly tried to download my iPhone Calendar to iCal and it ate that too. I finally just reloaded the software and download my calendar from MOZY. I now back it up every day and sync it with Google. I am disappointed though. I switched from a PC last year and was excited about my Apple. Looks like nothing is perfect.

After updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 4 the button "add" in phone contacts and a calendar disappeared. Updating to iOS 5 and 6 didn't help. I can't create contacts myself, only if I call number first and then choose Add to contact. I can't create an event in my calendar at all. What should I do?

Calendars disappear after adding new Event.
I first noticed the date was still showing yesterday.
I did a reboot & when the phone came up there were no Events!
Tried sync & back up but I couldn't choose the penultimate backup only the backup I had just made!
Most frustrating.
Any advice?

Um, I dont know if that is true, but there are several other better browsers you can try that might help you.

Gmail contacts and calendars disappear

My Gmail account is synced but at least once a day all of my contacts and calendars disappear. This happens with Exchange and Gmail. If I do a shutdown cycle holding home and power, then immediately sync they sometimes come back. How do I get them to stop deleting and get them back? In the mean time is there an easier way to get them back for when I don't have my laptop with me?

When you enable Icloud on the Ipad they should upload to the server. And then when you setup icloud on the computer with outlook they will download and update outlook.

When you click to add a new event, below Title, Location, Starts-Ends-Time Zone, Repeat, Alert, you'll see Calendar- click on Calendar...for me the invites only work when I click on the (yellow dot- Home) under iCloud.
It doesn't work with my gmail calendar.

Calendars disappear/ color-coding of calendars keeps changing

I am using iCal and MobileMe to sync across two Macs. Here are my problems:
- My events in iCal disappear -- all of them. I normally have five calendar categories (Home, Work, etc.), but often all of the calendars disappear along with the events. Quitting and restarting iCal tends to fix it, but this happens multiple times a day.
- I keep changing the color labels for my calendars, and the labels don't stick. For example, if I make Home blue, often when I reopen iCal, it'll have changed to purple. I have a theory that the colors are set by the order in which the calendars appear in the left side of the screen (so I've tried to re-order them to my preference by dragging and dropping. This tends to make all of the calendars disappear (see above). Even when I change the color-coding, iCal overrides it. (One note on this: one of my calendars is published, and it's this calendar that constantly ends up at the top of the list and has its color label changed.)

I'm having a problem with calendar colors, too. It's slightly different. When I try to sync, I get a conflict notice and the sync does not work. The notice says that colors do not match (i.e. work is blue on the mac and another color on the me.com site). However, both of the calendars ARE BLUE! I've tried selecting the mac version and the me.com version. My choice appears to be accepted. I get a syncing message and then the conflict notice reappears and I am not able to sync. Thankfully, I can sync with iPhone. I spent about 2 hours on support chat and they were unable to resolve this problem. I've deleted calendars (such as birthday) and am down to personal and work. Still no luck.

Single calendar disappeared from local, still on mobileme

All events in my "personal" calendar - current, future, and past - disappeared from my local iCal in the mobileme sync, but they still appear on the web version. The calendar itself is still there in the left menu, but all of the events disappeared. I can add new events to the local copy and they appear on the web version, but none of the events on the web version are showing on the local copy.

Yes, same problem here. Intermittently, all events in my work calendar or my personal calendar disappear.
In another thread on these forums, I read that if you make a new appointment or two in the missing calendar, and then wait several/many seconds, the calendar will reappear. That is true for me also.
But like other posters with the same problem, the calendar events will all just vanish again within a couple days.
For me this began after upgrading to "the new Mobile Me calendar".
It's a severe bug, because it means you cannot trust what your calendar shows, and also because you cannot back up your calendar data. If you make a backup when a calendar in the "disappeared" state, it really will create a backup with zero events.

I have an ipad 2 and my wife has an iphone 5 both running ios 6. We share an apple id. Both calendars are saved and synched through icloud. Yesterday my entire calendar disappeared. It has gone from both devices, and has gone from icloud (i logged on through a pc laptop to check). How do i get it back, and if i can't, how can i trust iCloud to look after my data? I don't explicily backup to icloud - i assumed that running calendar from it there would be no point in backing up to it as well.

One of the problems of sharing an ID is that others can delete things for you.

Going to icloud.com and selecting the calendar web app, you have the option to hide/view calendars in the top bar next to day/week/month view. Enabling this, you will have a side-bar with your iCloud calendars. Are your calendars displayed here? Is the calendar that you are missing there?
Do you use iOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod)? Do you have iCloud backup set up for these devices (go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Manage Storage > iPhone of <...>)
You might be able to put back this backup with the content if the backup occurred before this. You can also view iTunes backups if you regularly sync with iTunes and you do not have iCloud backup enabled. Go to iTunes settings and check devices, you'll find your backups there.
The Mac you use iCal on, do you have Time Machine configured? You may be able to retrieve the calendar information from the backup.

E72 Outlook calendar disappears

We have a Nokia E72 which every Friday night the Calendar disappear and then reappears the next morning, as all other times it works fine we are at a loss as to why the details disappear at the same time every week?
We are using Visto Corporate server on version 1.0, Outlook 2003 standard edition, service pack 2.
We have recently update the firmware on the handset to the lastest version.

if calendar and contacts are in the handheld, change hotsync action to handheld overwrites the desktop.
if tasks and memos are in the PC, change the hotsync action to desktop overwrites the handheld.
this is so far the easiest way to check whether your data are corrupted or not.
