Call a function at specific intervals

Hi,
I need to call a function or page at specific intervals. Or I need a ping a page at specific intervals, to keep the session alive.
I found window.setInterval() works fine. Is there any such function in coldfusion?

put your function in a cfc and use cfschedule to call to that method.  Example :
remoteCalls.cfc
<cfcomponent>  <cffunction name="callMe" access="remote">     .. do stuff here ..  </cffunction></cfcomponent>
Setup a scheduled task in coldfusion to call your url every X minutes :
http://www.domain.com/remoteCalls.cfc?method=callMe
If you have arguments, pass them in as url variables.

  • Need to call Web Services in a periodic manner from BizTalk at specific intervals? Does BizTalk have the Timer functionality to schedule?

    In BizTalk Send port, we have an option to enable service window but it works if we need to make a call with in a specific period. My requirement is, For instance to make a call at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 02:00 PM, 04:00 PM like that.
    Is there a way to implement this in Orchestrations or through any windows schedulers? Also, need to consider the performance as well.
    Please shed some light on this. Your help is greatly appreciated!!!
    Vijay

    Your requirement is not of multiple schedule “service windows”, it’s of multiple schedule “service trigger” when you can send the message. Service windows would specify “between” a specific time window like between 1 AM and 2 AM or 9:00 AM and 12 AM. But
    your requirement is send the messages at a specific time.
    You can design this trigger for BizTalk to come using a schedule task to create a triggering file at the scheduled times so that it would trigger BizTalk and its artifacts (a send port) to send a message.
    Or my options would be create WMI script (or powershell or any script) which would start the send port and another script to stop the send port - when it’s called/triggered. Configure a schedule task to run the “start” script so that during send port can
    be started and after few minute call another schedule task which would call the “stop”-script which would stop the send ports. – Simple isn’t it

    I am working on a large java project, and i need a
    way to call a function at a specific time(midnight of
    every night). How can i do this?If your JVM is running all the time, use a [url http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/Timer.html]java.util.Timer. Otherwise, it's an OS thing. You'll have to set up a cron job of some kind.

  • I got this warning when i open a specific page on my website in IE : MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:Error: A security problem occurred.

    Hi,
    I found out when i'm in IE and go to the page 'Artists'
    and i click on a name, for example: 'Abel Equipe ELA/I Gomes'
    I get this warning :
    MuseJSAssert: Error calling selector function:Error: A security problem occurred.
    This is only in IE, not when i use Safari or Chrome
    this is the website link
    Any ideas how to solve this problem?

    There's an invalid hyperlink on the Abel Equipe ELA/I Gomes page on a bit of text that reads "with your input." You need to find this text within Muse, clear the hyperlink and enter a valid one.

  • Passing arrays with Call Library Function does not work after application builder

    Calling a DLL with Call Library Function which requires an array of data works correctly in Labview, but after building an exe with application builder, the call no longer works.  Dereferecing the pointer in the DLL retuns all 0s and not the actual values.
    Solved!

    I did not run your code because it is a little unclear to me what it does.
    Two things:
    First, is the DLL you are calling the DLL-ified version of PopUpNames.vi? Then the problem is likely that the panel is not being built into the DLL.
    When LabView builds an application / dll, it strips the front panel and block diagram from all VIs that it doesn't think need to show a panel at run time. This reduces file size and increases code security. The App Builder's panel inclusion logic can be overridden by Build Specifications -> Source File Settings -> Remove front panel. A better method is to put a property node on a control in a window you want to show marking it "visible"; this is sufficient to tell the App Builder it should keep the panel.
    Currently Source File Settings shows "no dependencies" (clearly incorrect---another evil side effect of Express VIs I guess) but if you change the settings as shown below to keep ALL panels, one might hope the App Builder can figure it to keep the panel when it deconstructs the Express VI. (Alternatively convert the Express VI into a regular one.)
    A second comment: I am a bit flummoxed at the larger goal here. You are calling LabView DLL from LabView, which doesn't make a lot of sense, so I assume your larger goal is to call LabView from C or vice-versa. In that case be aware that your DLL is x86 (32-bit) but you are passing 64-bit ints as your pointers. In this case it is 32-bit LabView with 32-bit pointers in embedeed in 64-bit containers calling 32-bit LabView with 32-bit pointers in embedeed in 64-bit containers, so it all works, but if your going to call this from C or whatnot you're going to have to follow that same design.
    When calling C code the LabView Call Library Function does have a "unsigned pointer-sized integer" data type that always appears to be 64 bits in the dev env but which actually passes a 64 or 32-bit int to the DLL depending on the environment. The "pointer sized int" has to be 64 bits in the "LabView" part of the code because LabView's strong typing requires the data type to be determined at compile time. Casting all pointers to the largest data type in LabView makes it possible to write platform-independent code, but down at the Call Library level you still have to put the right number of bytes on the stack.

  • Tuning a procedure and using dbms_job.submit proc that call's functions

    Hi
    I have Procedure that have 3 curosrs which are nested one below with in each other
    and it looks as below
    it's structure will look some thing look like this
    declare
    empno_fetch number;
    CURSOR deu_process IS
    SELECT empno
    FROM emp
    WHERE flg_process = 'N'
    AND ROWNUM <= 5000
    ORDER BY empno;
    CURSOR dup_all IS --c1 fetch around 400000 records
    (select empno
    from emp
    where empno>l_empno
    order by empno
    where rownum<=empno_fetch;
    CURSOR rules IS --c2
    SELECT rule_id, rule_score, name_Of_func
    FROM rule;
    begin
    l_count := 1;
    OPEN dedupe_rule_attr;
    LOOP
    BEGIN
    Here one loop is used for fetching 5000 records at time and
    Here deu_process cursor is opened ,assume it fetches one record
    Here another cursor dup_all is used for fetching the records and assume it fetched 400000 then
    Here another cursor is opened name where it fetches 10 rows
    Here logic is if first row then
    call's stored function which has following functionalty
    it compares fields such as address of outer most cursor i.e deu_process with all the address of the other rows i.e 400000 rows and return a number
    if second row then
    call's another stored function which has
    compares other fields such as first name,last name
    if third then other field
    so on ....
    up to 10
    and then finally ends
    so if i comment all the rules loop then it takes only one min to execute .If it validaes all of them if takes 14 minutes to execute .so there is problem in that 10 procedures to execute
    So i found an approach to run all the rules simultaneously using dbms_job .But i face a problem that i can't uderstand how to send the input and out put parameter's to calling procedure.And these parameter's must be passed by variable from called procedure to calling procedure
    Please suggest me what is the syntax of dbms_job with input and output parameters with variable's that must be passed as formal parameter's
    Regarding DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT I am getting following error
    Declare

    commit;
    --a:=2;
    --x:=a;
    end;
    using dbms_job.submit proc that call's functions which returns out and in parameters to calling procedure environment .I can't get this with out using data base table's.
    If you have any method for this Plese suggest
    And also please suggest me weather using job's is a good idea ,If not than suggest me what ever will the other approach.

    I have looked at all sql trace file ,<br>

    FROM ci_cust_dedupe_mast<br>

    This statement executes only once for 1*3,77000*10 times <br>
    The function that i had sent previously executes more than 4000000*20 times .<br>
    I think all it takes is only for iterations that are caused<br>

    Hi Amit,

    the invocation - errors are always fatal !!!

                                 but the problem is I  am getting the following error while compiling...
    " stru_c_materialplantdata " is not an internal table - the " OCCOURS n"  specification is missing.

  • Call a function when the active document is closed

    Hi friends
    I have a portion of my script (at true a specific function) that I´d need to be executed every time the user close the app.activeDocument in Photoshop.
    I know there´s a Photoshop script called "Script Event Manager" where we can associate actions and scripts with events (like closing the document). I´d not like to use this script because..as I told...it´s not my entire script to be runned when closing a file..but only a function.
    Tried to search in the Script Event Manager for any event called "onClose" () but sure there´s nothing.
    How could I insert an event in the body of my own script that calls a function every time user close the active document?
    Thank you a lot for the help
    Best Regards
    Gustavo.

    As I said before the close event is really not that useful. In addition to the document already being closed the event descriptor will only have the path to the closed file if it was saved as part of the close event.
    But if you want to play around with this to see if it will be helpful to you here is one way. You will need to add the notifer. This only needs to be done once unless it is removed.
    app.notifiersEnabled = true;
    app.notifiers.add( "Cls ",new File('~/desktop/closeEventHandler.jsx') );
    Then for the event handler script, something like this.
    try {
        if (arguments.length >= 2) {
        var filePath;
        var desc = arguments[0];
        if( desc.hasKey( stringIDToTypeID('in') ) ) filePath = desc.getPath(stringIDToTypeID('in'));
        if( filePath != undefined ) alert( decodeURI( filePath ) );
    } catch (e) {}

    XPath 2.0 specifications define a fn:format-date function but Oracle has not included yet in its XQuery implementation.
    Easiest way to go is A_Non's solution, but if you need to format at multiple places in the query, you can declare a local XQuery function.
    For example, to format to "DD/MM/YYYY" from the canonical xs:date format "YYYY-MM-DD" :
    {code}
    declare function local:format-date($d as xs:date) as xs:string
    let $s := xs:string($d)
    return concat(
    substring($s, 10, 2), "/",
    substring($s, 7, 2), "/",
    substring($s, 2, 4)
    {code}
    and an example of use :
    {code}
    SQL> CREATE TABLE test_xqdate AS SELECT sysdate dt FROM dual;
    Table created
    SQL> SELECT *
    2 FROM XMLTable(
    3 'declare function local:format-date($d as xs:date) as xs:string
    4 {
    5 let $s := xs:string($d)
    6 return concat(
    7 substring($s, 10, 2), "/",
    8 substring($s, 7, 2), "/",
    9 substring($s, 2, 4)
    10 )
    11 }; (: :)
    12 for $i in ora:view("TEST_XQDATE")/ROW/DT
    13 return element e {
    14 attribute xs_date_format { $i/text() },
    15 attribute local_format { local:format-date($i) }
    16 }'
    17 COLUMNS
    18 xs_date_format VARCHAR2(10) PATH '@xs_date_format',
    19 local_format VARCHAR2(10) PATH '@local_format'

  • Call Library Function (DLL) Node Configuration

    This issue was discussed few times on this forum (see for example http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=182911 ),  but I still have a problem.
    My question is -  how to define the call to DLL without to specify its full path in order to be able to change the directory path without to change all calls to DLL functions within VI.
    So, I did:
    1. I put my DLL and my VI in the same directory.
    2. I defined this directory in VI search path. This directory also defined as enviroment variable.
    3. I use only one call to DLL in this specific VI (just as example in order to simplify the problem).
    4. I define only DLL name without the path in CLF Node.
    But, every time when I close CLF Node configution window, the program search for the DLL, find it and put full DLL path inside.
    I will be very thankful if anyone can help me to overcome this problem.
    Best regards,
    Boris

    Hello Boris,
    To sum up the previous posts, when you specify the DLL when configuring the Call Library Function
    node, internally LabVIEW stores in the VI either 1) the name of the
    DLL, or 2) a relative path from the VI to the DLL (including the name
    of the DLL). What's displayed in the dialog (in 'Library Name or Path'
    field) is either 1) the name of the DLL, or 2) an absolute path that is
    formed by appending the DLL's relative path to the VI's absolute path.
    In
    case 1, LabVIEW uses the Windows system search paths to load the DLL.
    That is, it looks for the DLL in \windows\system32 folder, then if not
    found there, it uses the folders specified in the PATH environment
    variable, etc.
    In case 2, LabVIEW tries to load the DLL from the
    computed absolute path (VIs current path combined with the relative
    path to the DLL that LabVIEW stored internally). And if not found
    there, LabVIEW uses the VI Search Path (that can be set from Tools »
    Options in the category of Paths).
    So even though LabVIEW automatically puts an absolute path to the DLL
    in the Call Library Function Node, as long as you will specify the
    correct folder for the DLL in the VI Search Path, you should be Ok. However, if you want to
    have a fixed location for the DLL, then it is best to keep it in the
    \windows\system32 folder, and specify just the name of the DLL when
    configuring the Load Library Function node (this way LabVIEW will not
    automatically turn it into an absolute path).
    Also, these knowledge base articles might be helpful:

  • Call a function in a package body

    I am new to Oralce, I am tried to call a function in an exiting package body using the package specification. function.
    But it failed , it says wrong numbers or types of parameters. I see the functions are defined in the package body with two definitions but different numbers of parameters. One has only one parmenter, the other has 3.
    But in the packgage definition is has the function with one parameter.
    So when I call using 3 parameters, it gives the error.
    Why is that?
    Thanks

  • How do i call a function in a library package in a form 6i ?

    Hi guys can any help me ?
    This is the decalred part of my function in the package specification named SECURITY_NEW:
    ==================================================
    FUNCTION LOGON_AUTH ( P_user_id IN users_codes.USE_ID%TYPE,
    P_password IN users_codes.use_pass%TYPE,
    P_allow OUT BOOLEAN )
    RETURN BOOLEAN;
    i called it in a form like that:
    ====================
    SECURITY_NEW.LOGON_AUTH ( V_USER_ID ,
    V_PASSWORD ,
    V_EXIST );
    This gives me error LOGON_AUTH is not a procedure or is undefined
    can any help me in calling the function..?
    Thanks in advance..
    Abdetu.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    oh, overseen the other problem:
    PL/SQL variables can be accessed like this
    V_VALUE := 'TEST';
    if V_VALUE = 'TEST' then
    the parameters of the procedure/function can also be accessed like this (note: don't forget the restrictions of IN/OUT/IN OUT)
    global variables, forms-parameters, items can be accessed via copy, name_in and default_value
    e.g.:
    default_value('TEST', 'global.testvariable')
    initializing :global.testvariable with 'TEST' if it is not initialized; if :global.testvriable has already a value, this will not set the value of the variable
    to set the global variable, you use the copy just like the default_value built in:
    copy('TEST2', 'global.testvariable')
    if you apply now another default_value call, this call results in no change of the variable:
    default_value('TEST', 'global.testvariable')
    the variable :global.testvariable is still at the value 'TEST2'
    to access it, you use the name_in built in:
    if name_in('global.testvariable') = 'TEST2' then
    this also works for forms-parameters and items:
    name_in('parameter.test')
    or
    name_in('block3.item4');
    so in your case, it seems that you are trying to assign an IN variable...that's not possible.
    e.g.:
    procedure testproc(ibBoolValue in boolean) is
    begin
    ibBoolValue := false;
    end;
    => this is resulting in an error, as you try to assign a value to an in-parameter...
    procedure testproc(obBooleanValue out boolean) is
    begin
    obBoolValue := false;
    end;
    => this works; but as this is an out-parameter calls like:
    testproc(true); will not work, as "false" cannot be used as an assigment target...
    try this:
    declare
    bBool boolean;
    begin
    bBool := true;
    testproc(bBool);
    end;
    => this will work, but as it is an out parameter, the boolean value will be set to null when entering the procedure, and after the procedure bBool will be false.
    last case IN OUT:
    procedure testproc(iobBooleanValue in out boolean) is
    begin
    iobBooleanValue := nvl(iobBooleanValue, false);
    if iobBooleanValue then
    iobBooleanValue := false:
    else
    iobBooleanValue := true;
    end;
    when calling like this:
    declare
    bBoolVal boolean;
    begin
    bBoolVal := false;
    testproc(bBoolVal);
    end;
    bBoolVal will be true after the call of testproc and vice versa when bBoolValue is true
    also like in the OUT parameter Sample, calls like:
    testproc(true);
    will result in a compile-error, as "true" is also no target...
    so everything shortly:
    if you want to access forms-parameters, globals or items, use copy, name_in, default_value (as in librarys :block3.item4 := 'asdf'; will result in an error)
    if you want to access variables it's just straight like in forms-packages...
    Just take a look at the Online-Help; this is all well-documented.
    regards
    Christian

  • Calling javascript function to open SWF

    When the Captivate presentation ends, I'm trying to open
    another SWF in the same browser window.
    I have put the following code in the HTML document:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function changeMovie(filename)
    document.getElementById('Captivate1').movie=filename;
    alert(document.getElementById('Captivate1').movie);
    //-->
    </script>
    I am able to call the function from the Captivate file
    successfully because the alert window pops up with the name of the
    movie. I just can't get it to play. Can anyone help me on this?
    Not to be rude or anything, but I should note that:
    1) this is not my idea--it is my boss' idea, and any attempts
    to tell me that this is something not worth doing will
    unfortunately fall, not on deaf ears, but on ears connected to
    hands that have no freedom to choose how this project is completed.
    This is my master's bidding, and I must do what he says.
    2) I know very little JavaScript. This code was given to me
    by another guy on the project. So if you have advice for changing
    the code, please be as specific as possible.
    I would be very grateful for any help that you can
    offer.

    Two non javascript methods:
    Movie End Options -> Action ->> Open URL or file
    Button -> On Success ->> Open URL or file
    A method to load a new movie without completly reloading the
    page.
    1. Create two 200x200 movies - m1 and m2 - add some content.
    2. Create a button in m1 set Exectue Javascript ->>
    loadMovie('m2.htm');
    3. Publish html and swfs to the same folder.
    4. Open m1.htm and replace all the code with the following
    (up to and including </html>):
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01>

    6. Open m1.htm in you browser, click the button to load m2
    How it works:
    Simply put AJAX lets you load parts of an html file in the
    current window. The code to be replaced is within the div
    id="movieContainer". The code in the file you want to load should
    be only the code you need, not an entire HTML file.
    Call it from Captivate with loadMovie('URL') where URL is the
    name of the html file.

  • Calling nested function to perform DML and wait for commit

    Hi everybody,
    I would like to do some DML -- an insert statement, to be specific -- in a function and have the function then return the numeric key of the newly added row. I call this function from another context and woud then be able to use the newly added data to do some stuff.
    More specifically, what I am going to do is this: I have a graph consisting of source, destination and distance triplets in a table. A user should now be able to
    1.) add a node 'A' to the graph,
    2.) add a node 'B' to the graph
    3.) get the shortest path from A to B through the graph.
    I have an inner function function INSERT_NEW_NODE(node_in in sdo_geometry, graph_in in integer) return integer
    is
    pragma autonomous_transaction;
    cursor node_cur is
      select
          source,
          source_geom
      from graph
    cursor edge_cur is
        select
            source,
            destination,
            distance,
            edge_geom
        from
          graph
        where
          sdo_geom.relate(edge_geom, 'anyinteract', node_in, .005) = 'TRUE';
    begin
      -- check if identical with any existing node
      for node_rec in node_cur loop
        if sdo_geom.relate(node_rec.source_geom, 'EQUAL', node_in, .005) = 'EQUAL' then
          return node_rec.source;
        end if;
      end loop;
      -- get edges
      for edge_rec in edge_cur loop
         -- new_node-->edge.destination and vice versa
        insert into
          graph
            ID,
            GRAPH,
            SOURCE,
            DESTINATION,

            SOURCE,
            DESTINATION,
            DISTANCE,
            SOURCE_GEOM,
            DESTINATION_GEOM,
            EDGE_GEOM
        values
          graph_id_seq.nextval, --id
          graph_in, --graph
          edge_rec.source, -- source morton key
          morton(node_in.sdo_point.x, node_in.sdo_point.y), -- destination morton key
          sdo_geom.sdo_distance(edge_rec.source_geom, node_in, .005, 'unit=M'), -- distance
          edge_rec.source_geom,  -- source geom
          node_in, -- dest geom
          split_line(edge_rec.edge_geom, node_in).segment2 -- edge geom
        commit;
      end loop
      return(morton(node_in.sdo_point.x, node_in.sdo_point.y));
    end insert_new_node;, which adds the new nodes to the graph, connects, calculates distances etc. and returns a handle to the newly added node. I call this function twice from another, outer function function get_path (line_in in sdo_geometry, graph_in in integer) return sdo_geometry
    is
    source number;
    destination number;
    source_geom mdsys.sdo_geometry;
    destination_geom mdsys.sdo_geometry;
    begin
      source := insert_new_node(get_firstvertex(line_in), graph_in);
      destination := insert_new_node(get_lastvertex(line_in), graph_in);
      -- source := insert_new_node(get_firstvertex(line_in), graph_in);
      -- destination := insert_new_node(get_lastvertex(line_in), graph_in);
      return(get_path_geom(source, destination)); --returns a geometry which is the shortest path between source and destination
    end get_path;; and I think, I have to use automous transaction in the inner function, so that the outer function can see any change performed by the inner one. However, this only works, when I call the inner function twice (i.e. remove the comment signs in front of the last two lines of code right before the return statement in the outer function.
    So here's my questions: 1.) Why do I have to call the function twice to see the transaction complete? and 2.) How can I avoid that? Is there a way to wait with the execution of the return statement in the inner function until the insert is committed and can be seen by the outer function?
    Cheers!

    Tanks, everybody, for your replies! Let me go through them one by one
    smon asked: if you remove the pragma statement, does it work then?No, it does not, at least not, if I call the function from the outer function. In this case the insert statements in the inner function are not committed.
    If I call the inner function like thisDECLARE
      NODE_IN SDO_GEOMETRY;
      GRAPH_IN NUMBER;
      v_Return NUMBER;
    BEGIN
      NODE_IN := MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,<srid>,MDSYS.SDO_POINT_TYPE(<x>,<y>,<z>),NULL,NULL);
      GRAPH_IN := 3;
      v_Return := INSERT_NEW_NODE(
        NODE_IN => NODE_IN,
        GRAPH_IN => GRAPH_IN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('v_Return = ' || v_Return);
      :v_Return := v_Return;
    END;, it works without autonomous transaction, but then again like this I do not use the handle to access the newly inserted data immediately to perform some other task with it.
    sb92075 said:COMMIT inside LOOP is sub-optimal implementation (increases elapsed time) & can result in ORA-01555 error.Thanks, that was very helpful; I changed my code to commit outside of the loop, just before the return statement and it performs a lot faster now.
    user1983440, regarding my statement I think, I have to use automous transaction in the inner function, so that the outer function can see any change performed by the inner one. asked: Are you certain that this is true? No, anything but certain. I should have said "It +seems+, I have to use autonomous transaction". I wish it would work without autonomous transaction, I think it actually should and I wonder why it does not. However, if I do not use autonomous transaction, the outer function seems to try to access the data that I have inserted in the inner function before it is committed, throws a no-data-found-exception, hence a rollback is performed.
    davidp 2 said:The outer function will see whatever the inner function has done, without commit or autonomous transaction [...] In PL/SQL, the default commit is COMMIT WRITE NOWAIT, which I think does mean the transaction might not be instantly visible to the outside transaction, because the call returns before the commit really finishes. Yes, that is my notion, too. However, without autonomous transaction the inner function completes without error, then the outer uses the handles returned by the inner function to call the function <font face="courier">get_path_geom()</font> which cannot find the handles in the graph-table which raises an exception and causes a rollback.
    Let me summarize: The inner function completes fine, without and with autonomous transaction and returns the handle. The inner function commits, if called directly, without and (of course) with autonomous transaction. The outer function does not see the data inserted by the inner function immediately, whether without or with autonomous transaction. If I let the outer function call the inner function twice (4 times, to be specific, but twice for each newly inserted row) from the outer function and do not use autonomous transaction, I get a no-data-found exception. If I let the outer function call the inner function twice and do use autonomous transaction, it works.
    I agree with everything that was said about not using autonomous transaction in this case and I still want to solve this the right way. Any ideas are welcome!
