Call a view without Model ?
Hello All,
My application is a Page with flow logic BSP.
I need to view a jsp file from this BSP .
So i created a MIME Object and imported the JSP as a MIME.
I converted that Mime Object into a VIew.
Now I want to viewthe output of that View.
But as per the concepts we can't execute the view directly.
So I created a Controller class and attached my View to it .
Here I don't need a model as there is no need for the Bus.Logic.
Now my Qn is : How to call the view from my Page ?
Regards,
Deepu.K
Use this simple code in layout to call controller, calling controller will call your view.
<%@ extension name="bsp" prefix="bsp" %>
<bsp:call url="your_controller.do" />

How to call a view without event handler onaction method.
Hi Experts,
I have develop a WD application. It has three views let view1, view2 and view3.
In view1 one button is there (onaction) which navigates to view2 through outbound plug wd_This->Fire_Out_Screen1_Plg( ). where Out_Screen1 is outbound plug of view1.
Now view2 appears , I want that after 10 seconds view2 automatically call view3, without action on view2.
I have written like wd_This->Fire_OUT_SCREEN2_Plg( ). where OUT_SCREEN2 is outbound plug of view2, which navigates to inbound plug of view3.
But its not working. Please suggest how to and where to write code to call a view without action .
for ur ref.Hi Bhagat,
Yes, you can attach media objects into a view
Using IFRAME ui element and html mime object.
Please refer the below link
To insert video in webdynpro - Web Dynpro ABAP - SCN Wiki
Using Flash Islands
Here, you need to have your audio/video file as flash object
Please refer the below tutorial on flash islands( a generic example )
Adobe Flash Islands for Webdynpro ABAP
Hope this helps you.

Re: [SunONE-JATO] Re: How to use a tiled view without a model
I'm not sure what is different for you now. You still parse the string
and put it into a data structure. Before the data structure was a
vector, in JATO its just a model with a "hidden" data structure (a hash
map).
MVC only really comes into play when you talk about where your write
this code, and where the data structure is being stored. So really, JATO
takes care of half of the MVC'ness of it all (where the data is store).
You just decide where to be the code to populate the model.
Make sense?
Is there something different required of you in JATO in this scenario
that I am not grasping?

Thanks for the feedback.
The problem I was solving involved a single string, which contained
delimited subsets of information.
The string looked like
this:"time|analyst|description|time|analyst|description|..."
In ND, I parsed it apart into it's components (time vector, analyst vector,
description vector), populated the repeated.
With JATO, how would I make a model for something that doesn't have a
database component like this?
I'm pretty new to this MVC thing, so bear with me.

Subject: Re: [SunONE-JATO] Re: How to use a tiled view without a model
I guess the only thing "weird" (for lack of a better term) about what
you are doing is that your are populating the model on the "display
cycle". Typically, the cycle goes like this:
Request -> populate model -> update data store -> retrieve data to
populate model -> display data
some of the above steps are optional but hopefully you get the point I
am making.
So what you are doing is:
Request -> populate model/display data
If it works for you, then it's not necessarilly wrong. But I would
probably have my model populated before I forwarded to the target
(displaying view bean) or at a minimum, in the begin display event of
the view bean or the tiled view, but not during the iteration of the
tiled view.

Craig,
Thanks for the pointers. I ended up doing something else. I set the
models setSize() method to set the max size, and as the tiles fields
iterated, populated the value from some vectors I had the data in
already. Is this solution fraught with peril and will ultimately fail,
or should I try your way?

John,
Check out the docs for DefaultModel. There is an appendRow() method.
So get your tiledview's primary model (the tiledview's primary model
should be set to use an instance of DefaultModel), model.appendRow(),
then model.setValue("fieldname", value) for each value.
Rinse, repeat as needed.

Any pointers about where I can set the size of the tiled view? I tried
setMaxDisplayTiles() in the beginDisplay, but it won't get down and
generate the rows.

Hello
I am using progressIndicator for updating large number of database values. But it seems that oracle.adf.view.faces.model is not an opensource. But the progressIndicator using oracle.adf.view.faces.model.BoundedRangeModel. So any one please tell me is it possible to use progressIndicator without using oracle.adf.view.faces.model.BoundedRangeModel. I am updating nearly 10000 records. So it should use the progressIndicator.Hi,
seems that your LOV implementation updates "MdlPrdId" on the table binding directly, which is not supposed to work

How to Call Image Viewer from Form application
Hi,
how to call Image viewer using host command on oracle form 6i.
i trying using host command on local/client application .. and it is working ...
but when i try on server application (EBS - UNIX) it does not working ...
thanks ..
regards,
safarAre you using Forms 6i in client/server mode or web deployed? I'm not sure what you mean by 'try on server application"
Remember that when using a web deployed architecture, a host command will execute the command on the Forms application server, NOT on the client.
To execute host commands on the client you would have to use WebUtil, but that's not available for Forms 6i. Perhaps there are PJC's out there that can do it for you, but I don't want to get in all those details without me knowing if it is relevant for you. -
How to speed up fast refresh of materialized view without primary key
Thought I'd share this info, as I couldn't find anything on here to help me diagnose the issue:
I had a materialized view that was taking longer to perform a fast refresh than it took to perform a complete refresh. My mview had no primary key, as the base table had no primary key.
I created a trace file for the session and saw references to a column M_ROW$$ in my mview. Nowhere in the data dictionary could I find a reference to the m_row$$ column in my mview, but apparently it exists and is created automatically. After creating the index below, the fast refresh took 6 minutes to add 500k rows to the materialized view. (versus 4+ hours without the index) When I looked in the trace file, I noticed that for each row in the mview log, it first tries to update the mview with an UPDATE statement, then it performs an insert of the new data. Seems like it should be able to determine whether to perform an update or insert based on the DMLTYPE$$ column of the mview log. What was killing my performance was the UPDATE phase. Since I had no primary key on the mview, and no index on the m_row$$ column, the UPDATE phase was performing a full table scan of my mview for every row in the mview log. I was expecting it to be smart enough to only perform inserts, as the only transactions against the base table were inserts.
In summary: If you have a materialized view without a primary key, create an index on the m_row$$ column of the mview, even though no such column displays in the data dictionary.
ex:
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW mv_minidrr ...
CREATE INDEX pk_mv_minidrr ON mv_minidrr(m_row$$) ...Well, there indeed is a column called M_ROW$$
Your MLOG$_EMP is nothing but the materialized view log on the base table.
SQL> create materialized view log on emp with rowid ;
Materialized view log created.
SQL> create materialized view emp_mview refresh fast on demand with rowid as select * from emp ;
Materialized view created.
SQL> desc mlog$_emp
Name Null? Type
M_ROW$$ VARCHAR2(255)
SNAPTIME$$ DATE
DMLTYPE$$ VARCHAR2(1)
OLD_NEW$$ VARCHAR2(1)
CHANGE_VECTOR$$ RAW(255)
SQL> select table_name, column_name from user_tab_columns where column_name = 'M_ROW$$' ;
TABLE_NAME COLUMN_NAME
MLOG$_EMP M_ROW$$
1 row selected.

Can you select the row in a table view without highlighting the cell?
I have an an app with a table view which is presented modally. Cell selections in this table are saved in the parent controller so that they can be reselected if the table is reloaded after being dismissed.
When the cell is first highlighted, I want to momentarily highlight the cell and have it fade out, which I do by unselecting the cell from the modal view controller's didSelectRowAtIndexPath by calling setSelected:animated on the table view cell.
However, when I present the table view controller modally again and want to display the previously selected cell as selected, I don't want the cell background to be highlighted, and I'm having trouble doing this.
In order to make sure the table view knows the cell is selected, I am calling selectRowAtIndexPath. I need to make sure the cell is selected so that I can set/unset the cell's accessoryType. However, this has the sideeffect of highlighting the cell too, which looks weird and confusing to the user.
I've tried things like temporarily setting the cell's selection style to none, but while that stops the cell background from highlighting? I've tried setting the selectionStyle to UITableViewSelectionStyleNone, but while this prevents the cell background from highlighting, the cell text still changes to white, so it the text is invisible against the white background.
Is there a easy way of setting a cell to selected in the table view without also changing the highlight and text colour of the actual cell? Immediately setting the cell to be unselected still makes the highlight visible for a split second.I tried that, but setting the highlighted property doesn't seem to affect it.
I figured out how what I was doing wrong though. I was setting selection style UITableViewSelectionStyleNone, selecting the cell, then setting the selection style back to whatever it had previously been. This causes the background not to draw highlighted, but the text and accessory type to still draw highlighted.
In order to fix this, I moved the code to set the cell selection style to whatever it had previously been to the didDeselectRowAtIndexPath method. -

Access to view without a blocked
Hi, i need access a view by sm30 2 or more times without a blocked
thanksHi
This is my program for SM30 in order to set a my own lock
A) SE11
- I've created a maintenance view for my Z-table
- I've set the fields I need to lock available for SUBSET
- I've set the view Display "Maintenance allowed with Restrictions"
- I've generated the maintenance program for SM30
- I've implemented the event 19 in order to set my lock
B) I've created a Z-program in order to call the view above by fm VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL:
this fm is always called for DISPLAY only (in this way no standard lock will be set)
C) The code I've set in event 19:
DATA: BEGIN OF MY_LOCK,
MANDT TYPE <table>-MANDT "<---Structure with fields I need to lock
END OF MY_LOCK.
DATA: W_SEL_LIST TYPE VIMSELLIST.
DATA: VARKEY TYPE RSTABLE-VARKEY.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <MY_KEY> TYPE ANY.
LOOP AT DBA_SELLIST INTO W_SEL_LIST
WHERE VIEWFIELD = '<field name ....> "All fields of structure above
OR VIEWFIELD = '<field name ....> .
ASSIGN COMPONENT W_SEL_LIST-VIEWFIELD
OF STRUCTURE MY_LOCK TO <MY_KEY>.
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
MOVE W_SEL_LIST-VALUE TO <MY_KEY>.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
IF NOT MY_LOCK IS INITIAL.
MY_LOCK-MANDT = SY-MANDT.
VARKEY = MY_LOCK.
CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_E_TABLEE'
EXPORTING
MODE_RSTABLE = 'E'
TABNAME = <table name>
VARKEY = VARKEY
EXCEPTIONS
FOREIGN_LOCK = 1
SYSTEM_FAILURE = 2
OTHERS = 3.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE 'S' NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ELSE.
MAINT_MODE = VIEW_ACTION = 'U'. "Change SM30 for UPDATING
ENDIF.
ENDIF.
ENDIF.
So I haven't used the event 14, bat you can try to use the code above in that event, but in this case you have to add the code to delete the standard lock for the full table.

Cannot select ROWID from a join view without a key-preserved table at OCI c
Hi All,
Can anybody help me..?
When i am creating the request in the presentation services ..
for some of the columns i am getting the following error..by removing those those columns it's working fine..
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 1445, message: ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from a join view without a key-preserved table at OCI call OCIStmtExecute. [nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed. (HY000)
Please suggest me a solution..
Thanks in Advance...Looks like you have a view that contains the ROWID of another table. Does the view work first from sqlplus? See whether it returns any data. Its a ORA- specific error. So, the error is related to your view rather than BI EE. Also, how many columns are you trying to pull in your report?
Thanks,
Venkat

How to call a view from another
Hello Experts,
I have embedded a view (let us call this view 'A') in standard homepage. This works fine. Now on click of a button on this embedded view I want to launch another view that is also created by me, in the same component in which I had created view A. But I do not know how to launch this second view
Could you please tell me how to call/launch a view from another on click of a button?
Regards,
PraffulHello Prafful,
I guess by launching you mean substituting one view by another. It can be achieved by declaring a navigational link in the runtime repository from one view to another. You have to create an event handler on the button and outbound plug in your view using the wizard. Then, on the event handler you call an outbound plug where you trigger a navigation using this navigational link and the view A will be replaced by view B.
A code which needs to be done in outbound plug:
me->view_manager->navigate(
source_rep_view = me->rep_view
outbound_plug = 'NAVLINKNAME'
data_collection = iv_data_collection ).
Best Regards,

Calling a view in a separate window to print it
Hello
BSP with MVC:
In my main view there is a print button, which should call another view, which I want to print with standard
print functionality.
How is the syntax to call a view which is part of the same BSP-Application in a Separate window?
Thanks and Kind regards.
CarolaHi Carola,
you can do it in various ways, here is one of them:
Place this code before the button element:
<script type="text/javascript">
function PrintWindowOpen() {
window_parameters = 'hotkeys=no,location=no,menubar=yes,toolbar=no,status=yes,resizable=yes,top=0,left=0,'
+ 'width=' + screen.availWidth + ',height=' + screen.availHeight;
window_location = 'print.do';
myPrintWindow = window.open(window_location,'myPrintWindow',window_parameters);
myPrintWindow.focus();
</script>
And do this for the button element you want to use for opening the print window:
<htmlb:button ...
onClientClick = "PrintWindowOpen();"
... />
The javascript variable <b>window_parameters</b> is a string containing parameter to control the window that will get opened, for a full listing of what you can use see this page:
<a href="http://www.w3schools.com/htmldom/dom_obj_window.asp">HTML DOM Window Object on www.w3schools.com</a>
Cheers,
Max

Fixed the code
From: onClientClick = "javascript:PrintWindowOpen();"
To: onClientClick = "PrintWindowOpen();"
It is not required, nor good, to set the JavaScript: protocol, as this is implicitly done already in browser. Otherwise, perfect example!
